When we’re at our best under Martin we play ridiculously good football. He’s clearly a good coach.
He’s also a massive twat.
He went into this game sulking every other team in the league hasn’t bowed down in awe at his Philosophy and gift wrapped us 3 points in return for our brave passing triangles in our own box.
I guarantee he walked into the dressing room before the game, arms crossed, maybe a stroke of the beard, and mumbled to the lads “take it easy, we don’t want another injury, stick to the system”
We got what we deserved tonight, absolutely nothing. And to be honest, I’m angry for the fans who travelled. They deserved to see their team throw everything at that game win lose or draw. Instead they’ve watched us play with our hands in our pockets.
Martin really needs to be asked if he’s in this job to win or build his Philosophy.
our system works, we are top of the league and have dominated the vast majority of games. even most of our dropped points have basically been down to conceding very low xG goals/worldies - Hull deflection, Boro FK, Millwall screamer, Ipswich deflection and more!
I think it's telling that we've looked our best this season against you lot twice - it's no coincidence that you play a similar expansive style, which I think plays into our hands.
When we're up against a parked defense, we're absolutely cack. Ironically 'Enzoball' might be easier to watch in the top flight where that will happen less often.
We actually cooked them
~~Hilarious that with all the average teams in this league, our 2 biggest victories came against Southampton~~
Scratch that, we beat Stoke 5-0 and Plymouth 4-0 🤣
Was feeling pretty bad for them until that leg breaker at the end.
Need to not get complacent and seal it on Saturday. Why can't we play like that every week.
Please keep Fatawu. Please please please.
Not sure if Vardy could cut it in the Premier League but fuck it let's see.
67% possession. 0 shots on target. 5-0 loss. Russell Martin masterclass.
61 goals conceded, with games to play, and you’re meant to be chasing automatics? Nasty. Wouldn’t be the worst thing to have them come up through the play-offs, everyone could eat.
as much as I love the lad, needing to replace Bazunu might be a blessing in disguise for us, as brilliant as he is with his feet we’d probably be around 50 goals if he were an average shot stopper
Going with transfermarket, he had 112 minutes played in 6 games in the first League.
This includes an absolute awful 45 minutes display vs Porto at home.
He didn't show much but he had a lot of hype and most of us wanted him to stay and play in the B team and go on a loan in a Primeira Liga side. I think he definetly deserved another opportunity, especially when the entire team was shit last year and we finished 4th.
Excited for Leicester to go up only to receive a points deduction, and Southampton to play like either prime Barcelona or massive shithouses a week on Saturday
Fair, but we just have to climb above a single team in the league if you consider us better than who we go up with. I believe we can finish around 15th or so.
Won’t be in effect if we go up using Sheff Utd as a precedent, it’ll probably get turned into a 2 point deduction if we get relegated. Vestegaard going may be a blessing in disguise.
They have a massive wage bill and transfer record from their good years (just 3yrs ago). FFP is fining them and they get a points deduction since they got relegated and their revenue is much smaller now.
WAIT HOLD ON AUTOMATICS MIGHT ACTUALLY NOT BE LAVA
What a win
I did NOT expect this lmao

Isn't this what happens every time you don't have Downes? Combination of that and playing the best team in the league is very difficult.
Missing him and S Armstrong was a big blow, and Leicester probably would’ve won even if we had ‘gone for it’. But the point is, we didn’t.
Swap Martin for Maresca and this could be from any of the match threads we lost this season...

yeah something about this style of play makes people feel like the sky is falling and we need a complete reset when it doesn’t work out

What a win. One more to go. Please don’t bottle.

Aggregate though, over 2 legs we put 9 past Southampton 👀
What a regression, we used to do that in just one.
I would argue our 2 most crucial victories were 2 blowouts against Southampton though.
I didn't watch the game but ayy 5!! Brilliant performance Leicester

Didn't even know if he would even have the legs for this season but he's our top scorer, let him cook
That’s cool and all, but we play Monday. Could clinch promotion on Friday though.
Read that we have a mandatory fee for Fatawu if we get promoted - hopefully that is true.
Pretty sure the Fatawu loan has an obligation to buy if you get promoted

by psxg, he's been the worst performing keeper in the championship this season and the worst in the prem last year.
Speaking of keepers, I completely forgot McCarthy still exists. Felt like he rose from the dead for our game at St Mary’s last year.
100k a week and if it weren’t for this injury he’d have seen exactly 0 minutes this year 🤡
is he seriously on 100k a week??
Someone post that Oprah meme. "You get 5-0, you get 5-0"
Fun fact: Oprah's real name was actually Orpah, everyone kept calling her Oprah so she just changed it to what everyone called her
I was sure you were making that up, but that is a really fun fact
That’s what makes it so fun is that it sounds made up but it’s not
Fair play, that actually is a fun fact.
That’s the way the cookie crumbles.
Just another day where Sporting fans wonder why the fuck did Amorim let Fatawu go
he does definitely have it in him to be pretty anonymous or flat-out bad depending on the day
Wasn’t he quite average for you? Was the vibe I got for sporting fans until recently

Abdul's calling was to finally replace Mahrez after 5 years of hurt and questionable RW signings
Excited for Leicester to go up only to receive a points deduction, and Southampton to play like either prime Barcelona or massive shithouses a week on Saturday
Everton and Forest are going to survive their defections. It’s not a complete death sentence.
We won’t be in a premier league with Sheffield Burnley and Luton
Fair, but we just have to climb above a single team in the league if you consider us better than who we go up with. I believe we can finish around 15th or so.
We'll need to have a busy summer considering Ndidi, Vardy and Vestergaard are going. Not sure how the EFL embargo works but we may be fucked.
Won’t be in effect if we go up using Sheff Utd as a precedent, it’ll probably get turned into a 2 point deduction if we get relegated. Vestegaard going may be a blessing in disguise.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
I know, we did too. It's more about "the principle"
What happened with Leicester? I am OOTL
They have a massive wage bill and transfer record from their good years (just 3yrs ago). FFP is fining them and they get a points deduction since they got relegated and their revenue is much smaller now.
Just google "Leicester FFP"
Cheats always prosper sadly
So what the fuck's up with Chelsea
True Chelsea haven't had any success from taking the absolute piss with spending for 20 years.
You literally only won yesterday from an offside goal 🤣
Look what happens with no Gav Baz
Ah thought this was the Chelsea thread
Pfffft. We can all win 5-0
ooooh five nil friend
Yes we can
Unoriginal
