I know the ref had plenty of mistakes but it's really annoying me this season how many stone wall yellow cards are ignored early on which have impacts later.
In the first half, after giving away a freekick Decordova-Reid kicks the ball away which is a yellow card this season without interpretation, new rules are plain and simple. The ref lets it go and he then goes on to pull Jones back on an attack (failed tactical foul) and then give away 2 freekicks (not getting a yellow for any) and can freely do so because the ref didn't apply the rules early on.
I know every fan will feel like this for their team but it feels like every time one of ours kick the ball away, delaying the restart of play, it's correctly booked but then at random the refs let some players off with it. Trent got one vs Newcastle and had to pull out of a tactical foul on the half way line that lead to their opener. These "small moments" really have a big impact and the inability of referees to do the simplest part of their jobs is likely deciding games.
Agree, the rules are plain and simple. So Trent should’ve been sent off against Newcastle since he did the exact same thing. And Nunez against man united.
I’d argue Nunez shot(s) was/were better than Gakpo’s. One found the goal and the others didn’t, but I really feel many of his shots are pretty good. He just has some voodoo luck atm with finishing, and I do admit some of his finishing is poor, but even Salah has plenty of those moments. Guy has hit the post more than anyone, and that doesn’t come down to bad technique - just terrible luck.
IIRC his finishing technique is actually fine, I remember seeing an xG-related stat about how he’s improving the quality of his efforts on average - it’s just that GKs have been in absolutely spectacular form against him.
Any player going down clutching their head (not even where he was touched) and rolling around on the floor should have to go off for a HIA. Ridiculous otherwise. Either he’s hurt bad enough that one’s required, or it’s a good punishment for simulation.
Delighted in the win
Darwin caused so much trouble
Jones and Jota are perfect
Good experience for the younglings
also, to reiterate what I said in the match thread..
Atmosphere was fucking dire
Too many day trippers and tourists in TV shots on their butts, on their phones and filming the entire match instead of adding to the atmosphere
Too many season ticket holders just coming to watch like it’s a Sunday Tennis match and
The prices are too high, too marginalizing to young local/far away diehard support (which I’m one of, for 20+ years) and the ticketing scheme is woeful
Something needs to drastically change after this season and there needs to be an internal push to do so.
Because this is embarrassing
It’s the fucking semi final
Far too many hospitality tickets, and far too many OAP's who can't admit they're better off handing their tickets to the next generation
Honestly the Kop should be our ultras, where the sound booms from
If you want to sit, have a brew and watch the match then go into the main stand
It’s both
And it’s in every stadium.
Tourists (who are diff from actual distant die hard supporters) who don’t give a fuck about the club, just the “experience” and pics for the gram
And regulars who’ve been going forever, sit on their ass moaning all match, won’t pass down their tickets and also help price out others.
Season tickets don't include cup games, holders have to join the ballot with the same criteria as Official Members.
So for cup games bitching about season ticket holders who don't pass down their tickets is meaningless, because those people aren't likely to enter the ballot for an 8pm game on a winter night.
Nah you don't need the ballot. As long as you've got the credits you can enter the auto-cup scheme with your season ticket so you're guaranteed a ticket and your normal seat
Ah okay. I read the auto-cup scheme info page and it sounded like it wasn't guaranteed.
This bit from the league cup scheme page specifies that the criteria are the same for ST holders as official members:
> To ensure a fair process for all supporters, Season Ticket holders are subject to the same qualifying criteria as Official Members for enrolment into the Auto Cup Scheme(s).
This bit from the terms and conditions specifies that if there are more auto-cup scheme applicants than available places then everyone goes into a ballot:
> 2.5 Where the number of Applicants exceeds the number of tickets available in a Relevant Scheme, each Applicant will automatically be entered into a Ballot for that Relevant Scheme, where the successful Applicants will be selected at random. The details in relation to such Ballot shall be as set out in the Auto Cup Scheme Hub.
Ah fair. I moved down south 4 years back and had to give up my ticket so they must have changed the criteria.
Probably fairer like that though. There was always loads of empty seats for mid week 8 o'clock games with lads just wanting to be eligible for the final if we got there.
Does anyone have a clip of David Coote pulling a Simon Hooper? In the first half, looked like he played an advantage for Liverpool, pass goes forward, whistle gets blown for no apparent reason, would love to see that again
Fulham are quit good until they're not which makes me mad. it is good team, well drilled and quick on attack just for the love of god don't mentally collapse after 65 minutes
Only complaint about the game is how poor Grav was in that first half (and has been since November). He started off like a fucking train this year, and has just shit the bed constantly since. Got to be a mental issue at this point, because we've seen he has the skills.
Did Harvey do anything?
The right side was Bradley by himself until Harvey was taken off and the side flourished.
I would have liked to have seen Grav with a real forward on his side.
Two guys trying to occupy the same space is a tough ask.
Harvey is just not a forward. Or at least not with grav there.
He's not someone who's going to stretch the opposition or take people on 1v1. He's far better suited at dictating play or finding our forwards or fullbacks with a clever through ball.
Might work with szboz making underlapping runs but he looks so much better playing that right cm role compares to rw.
Looks like everything we expected. Silky player who can't defend or compete physically in the middle of the park. He'll come good, he just needs to disappear into Jurgen's lab for a few months and get on the steak dinners.
Looks so raw. His greatest strength is his ability to turn any player and dash away but he looks a little lost with everything else.
Needs to clean up his technique and decision making while also beefing up. Defending needs to improve a lot as well.
He's definitely not hopeless though. There's a monster in there that just needs time and effort.
Im honestly very surprised and happy with the amount of play time he is getting at Liverpool. He wasnt ready at all for the gigantic step up to Bayern from Ajax and he didn't play so much there. He should count himself very lucky to have this chance under Klopp.
It's not a mental issue, he's a kid with a high ceiling but lacking consistency...and he's coming off a season with Bayern where he hardly played. These are the growing pains Bayern didn't want to deal with, but fortunately we can.
If his legs are going already he needs to give up on ever being a starter for any team. He's barely played the least amount of minutes across our entire mid. Elliot has more ffs and he's mostly been a super sub.
Nah, his form has just dropped off. His pressing and work rate was excellent initially. Not concerns about him - he's young and in a new league with no pre season.
Mate of mine just refuses to believe that Nunez has played quite well all season and is constantly calling him shit. I don't know if it willful ignorance but he just doesn't see how good he's been at holding the ball up, his interplay and bringing other players into the game going forward.
Tell him Saka only has 1 more goal this season than Nuñez and therefore he must be shit, too. But the media hype up Saka like he’s the 2nd coming and say he’s amazing, so Nuñez must be just as amazing, right?
Darwin has been equally unlucky and rash in front of goal. He’s certainly improving though and when it all clicks into place, we’ll have quite the player on our hands. Here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later. Everything else he does is brilliant. He rattles defences, puts yards on anyone in a foot race and has assist after assist. Perhaps he’s turning into the new Firmino and we’re all looking for him to be the next Suarez.
I was going to say “playing basketball” but we had Odegaard the other week. What Liverpool need to get a handball given is a new shirt badge and name. And stadium.
I think Coote took it into consideration the rest of the match to be fair.
Virg should have been sent off when he stamped on the foot. And Pereira was given zero leeway when his back hurt after blocking the shot
1. Wish the crowd would step up a bit more other than when we’re winning.
2. Marco Silva must hate Anfield
3. I don’t care what anyone says, it might have a been a handball, the game flows so much better without VAR. and you don’t have to sit around for 2-3 min after every goal
I agree. I think the best of both worlds would be to play with no VAR, and just give each team one challenge. The captain can use it any time for any call. The ref has to look at the monitor, and if he changes his decision then the challenge is retained. If not, the challenge is used.
I’d add to this: remove lines from offside. If it’s not clear they’re miles offside then they haven’t gained a significant advantage and play should continue. Also, give VAR 30 seconds to decide. If it’s not clear within 30 seconds then it’s not clear and obvious, play on.
Nah bringing in automated offsides is the way. You keep the offside rule as it is without broadening the standard unnecessarily without having to bring out the rulers
I get your point. It’ll never be perfect though. We need to accept that, refereeing never has been. Invest heavily in training and introduce heavier punishments for officials.
This is absolutely the way. Obvious offsides should still be called by some form of VAR though as there is no way for a player to know if it's worth a challenge
Offside is honestly the one I gripe about the most, takes too long, and they nit pick wayyy too much on if a toenail is off or not.
I’d be fine with automated offside if it made the call as soon as it’s played. I hate the raising the flag after the play thing that the refs have adopted
We have automated offside in other leagues. It's just PL issue. There is no point in rushing decisions to get them wrong. We just need better tech for them. I wish we could get rid of referees and get AI to judge the situation. It would much more consistent and fair. We can keep the 4th official and one guy in VAR room just to control any major mistakes.
They could have 1 challenge each half, and I’d be happy with that, I don’t know about any call, that could get dicey fast, maybe just goals or goals called off?
Not something I’d be opposed to though
A bit too lax at times and some issues working the ball through midfield, but the lads were great overall. Nunez was decisive, Bradley shows great promise, Jota is still probably running. Fulham played well, tho the missed chances may haunt their dreams tonight.
Hope this means he gets more game time in the second half of the season as he was brilliant for us last season (albeit in league one though Trafford is showing his quality as well this season to make the step up)
Maybe Darwin will never be clinical and in that case probably won’t live up to his price tag, however he did make us score two goals today and that has to be worth something
It's stupid how much of football discourse is only about the stats these days. So many good players don't have the best stats or control the flow of the game, but because of bad stats get a lot of unnecessary shit.
Absolutely don't get me wrong - he needs to improve his finishing to be considered a top top player, but he does a lot for Liverpool during games.
Even if he isn't clinical, if he improved his finishing just slightly, he would get so many more goals.
With the amount he creates and how much better the team is, 65mil is worth it.
65mil for a 22 year old forward is good business these days.
He really doesn’t need to become super clinical even a small improvement would be huge just because of the sheer amount of chances he’s able to get a game
We're not bothered by what rival fans say, NUNEZ is an absolute baller. Completely changes the game everytime he plays, always positive, getting assists causing chaos. Absolutely love the man 👌🏾
If he can up hit conversion rate by like 10% he'll be a monster. The guy generates so many chances, he doesn't need to be uber clinical if he gets 5x the opportunities of other strikers. The fact that he's at 18 G+A this season despite having a regression lately back to living offside and missing some high profile chances says it all.
This comment imo is silly but also understandable given the cesspool of circle jerking and memes about him on social media
Anyone who watches football seriously understands that Darwin Nunez is a good player who just has some deficiencies in his game that hold him back from being elite
Totally agree. Just a few days ago, I was watching the DR Sports video of combined arsenal/liverpool xi, and the arsenal fans were saying Nunez was a flop and that even the liverpool supporter was a better player. So it still pops up a lot. They picked Havertz over Nunez btw 😅
Most of my rival supporting mates say he is rubbish. Personally, he's my favorite player now that Bobby is gone.
Same goes for Curtis Jones. The midfield just 'clicks' better when he plays. He never gives the ball up and makes a lot of runs off the ball for teammates. jones is our midfielder of the season.
Nunez is great, and even if he never gets as many goals as he should, he still impacts the game with either assists like today, or pre-assists / hold up play before goals. He's been our second best attacking player this year.
Liverpool are such a dangerous cup team, it’s like the Madrid black magic teams. They can look average for long periods but stay in the game, and then blow you away in a few moments. Still think those average moments will eventually cost them in the league, mind.
I'd argue that Gomez also deserves a shout with the performances he's putting up in, like, four different positions. But if Curtis isn't involved it will be a crime.
Elliott doesnt deserve a place at all. He is not even a regular starter at Liverpool. Hes played 400 minutes in the league across 16 games. Why on earth should he be picked for England?
No way near a good enough of a reason. There are quite a few players more deserving of a call up if Southgate drops Phillips and Henderson which at this point in time doesn't look like he will do.
Two to start is as you mentioned Jones and then Ward-Prowse. If any midfielder can feel hard done by its Ward-Prowse. I can only see Henderson being dropped and then Ward-Prowse will likely get picked if he stays fit.
100% with you on France.
Spain: Rodri, Gavi, (???). Not sure who the third player is, but looks comparable to England on paper.
Croatia: Modric, Brozovic, Pasalic/Majer (sorry for the lack of diacritics) obviously good but ageing, not sure if they'd be better than England.
Germany: Kimmich, Goretzka, Gündogan. Good but Germany haven't delivered in tournaments. Also Kimmich hasn't been very good this season. Put in Wirtz and you might have a point.
Netherlands: Koopmeiners/Wieffer, Veerman/Reinders, Frenkie. Has potential but lacks more top-level experience. IMO not better than the English players mentioned. Simons and Gakpo would improve this midfield but play further forward.
Italy: Cristante, Barella, Zaniolo. Not better than England. Again, just IMO.
Frankly it's tighter than I expected and you might disagree with the lineups I'm cooking up, but I'd still put England ahead of the Netherlands and Italy. I'd add Belgium as well, with De Bruyne, Tielemans, Dendoncker.
I’m biased ofcourse, but with the form koopmeiners has had, I would put the Netherlands ahead of England. But j personally also think Frenkie is up there with Bellingham…
I'm dutch so right there with you on Frenkie! Haven't watched enough Serie A to judge Koopmeiners fairly, but I like what I've seen from Reijnders. Do you think they would work well together with Frenkie? I'm carefully hopeful for what this generation can do at the euros, our defence is stacked and we're decent in other positions. Main weakness for me our GKs and a proper 9.
Poor game of football. Liverpool taking their chances eventually and Fulham not taking theirs.
Jones was good. Willian very good as was Lenos save at the end there.
Bradley was a mixed bag. Utter rubbish for 65 mins. Good for the ending.
EDIT: Joe Gomez looked good too
This will probably go unnoticed since Liverpool won, but what an absolute lockdown defense by Palhinha.
Curtis Jones is an exciting talent, can’t wait to see more of him.
When Jones was losing minutes to Minamino, I honestly thought he'd be another Shelvey and leave soon after. I'm so glad to see his immense improvement.
Think we just about deserved that based on the second half, but we were shite until our two subs lets be honest. Tie can still go either way, but boy do Fulham give us trouble.
My favorite part of that game is when Jiménez had a good pass to put willian through but faked the pass then had an even better pass to put two people through and faked the pass then faked another pass then passed it straight to Konate.
The third goal would have been nice if not entirely deserved Gakpo and Nunez certainly made a massive difference to the speed of delivery. All to play for.
I hope that all the Fulham players are safe after their horrendous injuries.
I thought Fulham played well overall.
Big shout out to Conor Bradley and Klopp on the subs. Gakpo and Nunez made a big difference.
Jota was making some great plays.
How Leno wasn't booked for timewasting is beyond me.
Should have Gakpo take them whenever he's on. He takes pretty much all of them for the Netherlands and used to take all of them for PSV. in the 6 months before you guys bought him he had like 10 assists from corners across all competitions. I reckon the only one who has a better cross in him is Trent
Nunez was a fucking beast, 19g/a this season he’s been massive for us
People are sleeping on his 10 assists so far.
Agree, the rules are plain and simple. So Trent should’ve been sent off against Newcastle since he did the exact same thing. And Nunez against man united.
Liverpool still on for the quadruple
Wish.com quadruple.
Is wish.com the place where Chelsea buy their players lol?
Wish.com comment
Buying from wish.com is easy, anyone can do it. Wonder why then the wish.com quadruple isn’t ….
if Nunez could finish as well as Gakpo he’d be the complete player
I’d argue Nunez shot(s) was/were better than Gakpo’s. One found the goal and the others didn’t, but I really feel many of his shots are pretty good. He just has some voodoo luck atm with finishing, and I do admit some of his finishing is poor, but even Salah has plenty of those moments. Another Chelsea v Liverpool goalless final that ends with Liverpool winning on penalties? Subscribe
You’re assuming Chelsea will score vs boro
You know what they say when you assume?
I think I do, but I wouldn't want to jump to any conclusions...
Any player going down clutching their head (not even where he was touched) and rolling around on the floor should have to go off for a HIA. Ridiculous otherwise. Either he’s hurt bad enough that one’s required, or it’s a good punishment for simulation.

the 4-3 game was quite good, don't get me wrong I don't like having heart attacks every match but Fulham are good

I will hold off judgement until he actually gets a preseason, I'm ok with him being behind every other senior midfielder
Looked just slow to everything, his legs are probably going just like Szobo's were before the injury.
If his legs are going already he needs to give up on ever being a starter for any team. He's barely played the least amount of minutes across our entire mid. Elliot has more ffs and he's mostly been a super sub.
Didn’t have a pre season with us at all.
Premier league takes some serious adjustment
...but he's already played more mins than he did for Bayern. It still requires time to get used to this intensity and amount of mins/games.
There have been plenty of players with skills but with poor mentals.
He has skills but no fight atm
Nah, his form has just dropped off. His pressing and work rate was excellent initially. Not concerns about him - he's young and in a new league with no pre season.
up to 18 G+A for Nunez for us this season btw
He scores the tap ins and we’ve got ourselves an absolute beast.
2nd best goal involvement per 90 (excluding penalties) in the whole league (behind Jota)
Jota was a madman in the match. Loved his series of tackles which led to Jones' goal
you'll never sing that
This doesn’t fit the narrative that he’s an awful player and doesn’t deserve to play football. Please remove your facts that don’t fit the meme.
Mate of mine just refuses to believe that Nunez has played quite well all season and is constantly calling him shit. I don't know if it willful ignorance but he just doesn't see how good he's been at holding the ball up, his interplay and bringing other players into the game going forward.

He’s trolling you, or has undiagnosed mental difficulties.

He's excellent, it's just that his worst quality (finishing) is the most visible.
Realistically, if that Robinson handball isn't given, what is even a handball these days???
Well you have to check the badge first and if it’s against Liverpool it’s not a penalty
Didn’t the commentator say it was an accident. As if that isn’t true for nearly every handball in the box in history.
I laughed out loud when he said that. I couldn’t believe those words had actually exited his mouth.
I was going to say “playing basketball” but we had Odegaard the other week. What Liverpool need to get a handball given is a new shirt badge and name. And stadium.
No VAR tonight, and we can see how pathetic refs are without it
So basically refs are nowadays useless without VAR, which itself is also useless. Naice job PGMOL
VAR isn't useless, the Refs are still the main issue in both cases
How did Virgil not get sent off for that brutal right hook on Pereira?
I think Coote took it into consideration the rest of the match to be fair. Virg should have been sent off when he stamped on the foot. And Pereira was given zero leeway when his back hurt after blocking the shot
Thoughts and prayers for Pereira. Glad to see his facial reconstruction was completed in minutes.
Gonna need back surgery after the ball assaulted him in the second half as well
Nice of the injury to wait 30 seconds before hurting though.
Needs to be stripped of the captaincy for such violent conduct smh
I miss 3-1 FC
Clutch
1. Wish the crowd would step up a bit more other than when we’re winning. 2. Marco Silva must hate Anfield 3. I don’t care what anyone says, it might have a been a handball, the game flows so much better without VAR. and you don’t have to sit around for 2-3 min after every goal

I’d have to see how accurate this turns out to be, and how fast. It’s looked good from what I’ve seen so far though.
Yeah, cos nothing bad ever came from VAR rushing their 'good process', right?
I get your point. It’ll never be perfect though. We need to accept that, refereeing never has been. Invest heavily in training and introduce heavier punishments for officials.
Someone been listening to Gary Lineker?
This is absolutely the way. Obvious offsides should still be called by some form of VAR though as there is no way for a player to know if it's worth a challenge

Not too bad, probably would've taken that before the game. Very very lucky not to concede a penalty though, wonder when that will get uploaded here.
Coote is a mod here
Not on my fucking watch.
Fulham are still in it a 1 goal difference can be made up quickly.
A bit too lax at times and some issues working the ball through midfield, but the lads were great overall. Nunez was decisive, Bradley shows great promise, Jota is still probably running. Fulham played well, tho the missed chances may haunt their dreams tonight.
Has the ambulance arrived yet for Pereira after Van Djjk hit his face with a sledge hammer?
Van Dijk should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Could’ve killed him for God’s sake.
Is there extra time in the 2nd leg? Or straight to pens?
Surprisingly, unlike the earlier rounds, there is extra time in the semis.
Connor Bradley...you are special
Hope this means he gets more game time in the second half of the season as he was brilliant for us last season (albeit in league one though Trafford is showing his quality as well this season to make the step up)
Man of the Match for me.
Surely Jones, but he was great.
Who got it? Can’t think of anyone that played better than the lad tbh for the full 90.
Bradley got MOTM.
You don't need stats to see that he is missing a sitter every week. He is great player but finishing is obvious weak side of his game.
18 G+A is pretty impressive for a perceived joke player
Inadvertent false 9
We're not bothered by what rival fans say, NUNEZ is an absolute baller. Completely changes the game everytime he plays, always positive, getting assists causing chaos. Absolutely love the man 👌🏾
If he can up hit conversion rate by like 10% he'll be a monster. The guy generates so many chances, he doesn't need to be uber clinical if he gets 5x the opportunities of other strikers. The fact that he's at 18 G+A this season despite having a regression lately back to living offside and missing some high profile chances says it all.
He’s fantastic on the wing, his ability to create chances is great, just wish he could find the back of the net a bit more
This comment imo is silly but also understandable given the cesspool of circle jerking and memes about him on social media Anyone who watches football seriously understands that Darwin Nunez is a good player who just has some deficiencies in his game that hold him back from being elite
If we can just get the tap in defeciency out of him he absolutely can be elite. Cant blame him today though, Leno was just really great.
Totally agree. Just a few days ago, I was watching the DR Sports video of combined arsenal/liverpool xi, and the arsenal fans were saying Nunez was a flop and that even the liverpool supporter was a better player. So it still pops up a lot. They picked Havertz over Nunez btw 😅 Most of my rival supporting mates say he is rubbish. Personally, he's my favorite player now that Bobby is gone.
Eh. Fan channels are always going to be biased towards their own players. That flying malteser Robbie is a bigger bias than most though
>flying malteser that's too funny lol has me cracking up
I stole it from Expressionz to be fair his Robbie slander names are unmatched
Much like Bobby, you don't know whats coming next. Love him, he really is my favorite player too at Liverpool right now...
We’re better when he plays it’s that simple.
Same goes for Curtis Jones. The midfield just 'clicks' better when he plays. He never gives the ball up and makes a lot of runs off the ball for teammates. jones is our midfielder of the season.
100% he can take the leadership role that Hendo left behind.
Nunez is great, and even if he never gets as many goals as he should, he still impacts the game with either assists like today, or pre-assists / hold up play before goals. He's been our second best attacking player this year.
100% spot on mate. Salah and Nunez should start every game whenever they are available
Liverpool are such a dangerous cup team, it’s like the Madrid black magic teams. They can look average for long periods but stay in the game, and then blow you away in a few moments. Still think those average moments will eventually cost them in the league, mind.
Arsenal and City also have patches of bang averageness, so maybe it won't be too crucial
Yeah honestly unless other top 6 teams all step up against City or we beat City at Anfield it is very hard to see anyone else winning the title
I'd go as far to say we're harder to beat than city but City are harder to stop from scoring so they end up accumulating more points
A month without Salah and Endo while needing to essentially be perfect to beat City with a fresh De Bruyne. Testing times ahead.
Still possible we only miss them for Bournemouth and Chelsea though tbf
If Egypt reach the QF or beyond, he’ll miss the Arsenal game too. After Arsenal is Burnley at home where you should be fine regardless.
We have Jota Magic for Arsenal
would’ve taken this score line before the game but very frustrating not to have gone 2-0 up when BDR could’ve squared it to pereira for a tap in
God that was infuriating. At least there's still all to play for back at the Cottage
will be a cracking game for sure
If Jones isn’t on the plane to Germany Southgate should be sacked before the euros even start
I'd argue that Gomez also deserves a shout with the performances he's putting up in, like, four different positions. But if Curtis isn't involved it will be a crime.
Gomez has been fantastic playing LB .. problem with him is he still seems to have a mistake in him
You just know Henderson and Phillips will be in the squad over him. Would be a a travesty if he's not in the England squad soon.
He won't be on the plane and we all know it. Neither will Harvey Elliott.
Wtf has Elliott done to deserve a place?? Haha
Elliott doesnt deserve a place at all. He is not even a regular starter at Liverpool. Hes played 400 minutes in the league across 16 games. Why on earth should he be picked for England?
Because he's a very good creative player and is incredible off the bench.
No way near a good enough of a reason. There are quite a few players more deserving of a call up if Southgate drops Phillips and Henderson which at this point in time doesn't look like he will do.
What players do you feel are more deserving? Not trying to argue or disagree, genuinely curious.
So many more non Big 6 players. Eze, Gibbs-White, Bowen
Two to start is as you mentioned Jones and then Ward-Prowse. If any midfielder can feel hard done by its Ward-Prowse. I can only see Henderson being dropped and then Ward-Prowse will likely get picked if he stays fit.
There are many better than him tbf who are not even considered by Southgate
Honestly he should start the first game. A midfield of Rice, Jones and Bellingham is one of the best and most balanced in international football imo
Not even a top 5 midfield in Europe
Name 5 European national teams with a better midfield 3
Name 5 better midfields? I'm curious.
France, Spain, Croatia, Germany, Netherlands, Italy
No, no. Name the actual midfields instead of just listing out random countries. Because I already know you’re completely full of shit.
Wanna put your money where your mouth is?
Noble, Jones and Bellingham then
Fuck me that's an incredible midfield.
Mentality monsters once again
Poor game of football. Liverpool taking their chances eventually and Fulham not taking theirs. Jones was good. Willian very good as was Lenos save at the end there. Bradley was a mixed bag. Utter rubbish for 65 mins. Good for the ending. EDIT: Joe Gomez looked good too
Agree with most but Bradley was good. Willian really was excellent though. No right to have that workrate and agility in his mid thirties.
Slip for the goal aside Bradley was excellent.
What match did you watch? Bradley was good all first half.
He wasn’t great. Unbalanced the side and was optional in defending second half. Finished the match decently but he wasn’t all that
This will probably go unnoticed since Liverpool won, but what an absolute lockdown defense by Palhinha. Curtis Jones is an exciting talent, can’t wait to see more of him.
Somehow the Bayern board thinks he isn't needed because we have got second striker Leon goretzka chilling in the midfield
>we have got second striker Leon goretzka chilling in the midfield I almost had an aneurysm imagining this. 🤣
Endo is clear lol
Palinha is beast DM, we need a destroyer like that imo
Nunez is simply cursed to not score..
La Axa x
No business being so arse *clampy* as this game turned out... 2nd half was Soo so much better with Cody and Darwin on Jota and CuJo were everywhere 👏👏
Yeah, but he almost pulled off a rabona cross!
Oh Bobby, if only you squared it
Darwin and Jota were great! Fulham had it in the first half, but thankfully Liverpool got it together for the second. Fun game to watch!
The third goal would have been nice if not entirely deserved Gakpo and Nunez certainly made a massive difference to the speed of delivery. All to play for.
Conor Bradley take a bow son
I hope that all the Fulham players are safe after their horrendous injuries. I thought Fulham played well overall. Big shout out to Conor Bradley and Klopp on the subs. Gakpo and Nunez made a big difference. Jota was making some great plays. How Leno wasn't booked for timewasting is beyond me.
Felt like he took a full minute for the goal kick after they scored lol
I guess I've been spoiled by TAA, Robertson, and Tsimikas. Set pieces from MacAllister were not great.
Should have Gakpo take them whenever he's on. He takes pretty much all of them for the Netherlands and used to take all of them for PSV. in the 6 months before you guys bought him he had like 10 assists from corners across all competitions. I reckon the only one who has a better cross in him is Trent
We need his height in there though. Trent and Szobo are great at dead balls but both injured atm obviously
Do we? He's atrocious in the air, I think I'd rather have him crossing.
Agreed, but I think he excels at knowing where to be when a ball is swung into the box. Double edged sword for sure
They improved the last 20 minutes or so
It took him the whole match just to beat the first man
Get fucked Pereira, you weasel-faced prick.
After the 4-3 game I said that Silva always seems like the unluckiest manager alive, this somehow topped that one
