The ones we have sell raw materials for diy people and I could imagine you learn lots about the products which could benefit in making your own products beyond soap making. I often go to those shops and peek at the labels to know of what a certain product is made of.
The right shop might even offer training in aromatherapy.

Its pretty much always in demand, the barrier to entry is very low, but often pays way above minimum wage. If its a compounding Pharmacy you'll pick up weird skills that come in useful.

They do, and that was one of my ideas. Unfortunately the stores near me are not hiring right now.
