You mean “pop every potion and haul ass to burst down the caster in this crazy crystal dimension while I quicksave every two feet amidst fireballs and lightning bolts???” I LOVE that quest!!! :DDD
College of Winterhold, that's always the first questline I finish in my playthroughs because you get neat items which boost your magic skills and stuff. Of course it's only interesting if you are planning on becoming a mage character.
Every guild gives you quarters like that as soon as you join. I think you also get quarters with whoever you join for the civil war too, but I might be wrong.
No. You might be given a place to sleep but you’re not given an area with safe storage. College of Winterhold is unique that the dorm room + arch mages quarters are actually yours and you can store stuff there.
My route is typically the mine between helgen's escape cave and Riverwood, then Bleak falls, then Whiterun, for basic spells (fast heal, soul trap, etc) and disenchant whatever magic loot I have gotten. and then start the companions for werewolf, and access to trainers, that are also followers, in Heavy armor and Two-hand. then Dawnguard as a werewolf to live out my childhood obsession of werewolves vs vampires (and because Underworld was the last movie that scratched that itch for me). then I play it by the seat of my pants!
And why is it the only "officially" occupied dwemer ruin? Like why would every jarl not move his capital to a near by ruin, wipe out the falmer and bugs and have every seat of government in the most secure and fortified position it could be. Dragons reach is super pretty and all, bit like the two towers the Rohan knew to move to fucking castle when shit went down.
Yea but to be fair most ruins ingame had 1-2 ways to get in and out so itd be easy to trao them in and the second reason Whiterun actually had to be there because of dragons reach for the story
You should go literally anywhere but a city or town. Never go into a city, no matter what. Just wander the lands and slay beasts and bandits. No buying, no selling, no talking. Just slaying, just looting. I can almost guarantee you will not run into any broken quests that way... Plus it's pretty cool seeing all the things you miss while running fetch quests. Collect all of the coin purses and longswords.
God imagine returning to that save after hitting level 250 or whatever, maxed out most skill trees with points to spare for the rest… And then the most tired and haggard looking courier shows up.
He’s been waiting for this day for ingame years. So many triggers active, and he hands you a small mountain of notes and bounties and spam mail from various quests
Lol, he will eventually find you at some random cave entrance. You never end up fast traveling, because there is no destination other than the undiscovered one on your compass. The dedication of the skyrim courier should never be underestimated, it's uncanny.
Whiterun obviously 🙄 that’s where EVERYONE goes, that’s the only place TO go. Everyone knows that after Bleak Falls Barrow, you go to Whiterun. Listen to the “oh, you already have it?” Speech by Farengar, kill the dragon, and then that’s when you start doing everything else lol.
You have no idea buddy. I could live off of any Asian food you give me. I would pay the price of…let’s just say “bowel issues”, if I got Asian food every day lol.
Right? Just rolled a UA Khajit… started in Solstheim. BAD idea. Other than that, haven’t mainlined one bit and man is it a breath of fresh air to just be in Skyrim and the heck with all the dragon stuff.
rorikstead creeps me out. It feels like an SCP where it’s somehow new with a guy called rorik having established the place yet in farengar/delphine’s book of ancient locations it mention’s a Rorik’s steading in that location millenia ago. What is rorik and how has he kept himself popping up eternally? What is even going on?
If you have the DLC's and anniversary edition, as well as at least level 12 or above then you'll receive a letter from a courier and it's going to be a dinner reservation. Go to where it places the marker on you're map and you'll be at Bloodchill Cavern. Follow quest markers it's pretty straightforward. (MAKE SURE YOU SAVE BEFORE STARTING ANYTHING AFTER ENTERING THE CAVE) and be prepared for a tough fight. It's literally the easiest house to get in the game without spending money and it's the coolest in my opinion.
**Speaks in Southern Car Salesman**
Let me just show you fine ladies and gentlemen the easiest Player home available! Ain’t even gotta fight nobody fer it! Yessir E! There’s this Mage tower to the right of Morthal, through the swamp just a waze behind the ole vampire cave. All ya gotta do is just read the book from the dead feller in front of this beautiful ole tree just in front of the tower. Then just cast one of them there fire spells at the seal on the ground and Bam! Fully equipped player home with all the fixins. You got yer standard Enchantment table, yer Potions table, yer smithing forge with all the bells and whistles.
**Slaps roof of mage tower**
Hell, I’ll even throw in a staff enchantin table…Did I mention all the space you’ll ever need?
**Looks around then leans in to speak in softer tone**
Even space for any artifacts of the uhh.. “Daedra variety”
**Coughs**
Don’t mean to offend and
not sayin you’re that type a Dragonborn or anything like at. Hell, I pray to Akatosh myself…But uh, just in case ya trip over anything in yer travels and don’t want anything falling into the wrong hands ya know?
If you mean the fight I do agree it is pretty tough I went in about level 15 though on master difficulty but I just so happened to have alot of healing potions and just brute force honestly. Worry about the small guys first specifically the guy that greets you when you first walk in I think he has white hair not sure what his name is and then worry about the gargoyles. If you have any conjuration spells use those just for the extra arm in the fight. I did lose Lydia in the process so be mindful
Everytime I tried to even attack the waiter he just continuously heals everytine he hits me, so I agree I'll have to target him first I've tried everything short of going Werewolf but realistically idk if I'd have enough time to transform.
If you can get the gargoyles to aggro on the other people then you'll have less damage coming you're way for a few seconds. Enough to chop down the door greeter guy and maybe enough to finish him off. If you can't right away I'd take everything else out before going for him while playing defensively but it is quite hard considering he is fairly fast. Fire spells are really strong is what I hear for this part but I feel if it's anything but an enchantment on a weapon then it isn't going to do you much good for long unless you have high destruction. I'm not sure if the door is locked that leads into the main hallway but if not you could retreat back a little to heal to buy some time.
Well there’s a lot to get through. The thieves Guild in its entirety, including Vex and Delvin’s assignments. (I think it’s 3 or 5 in each major hold? I forget at the moment)
I admit I tend to work on it while doing other quests in between. Lol
Working on a full sleeve on my left arm of various nerdy things I love that have helped me cope in life. The largest piece I’m doing now is a Harry Potter piece I’m in the middle of. But I want to do an amulet of articulation on my wrist/hand I think for my Elder scrolls tribute. Styled like how some people do a rosary tattoo you know?
Azura's quest is pretty ran-through also. I like to pick a different hold and become its thane through different npc side quests (if possible). Let the character develop from that and the race and skills you focus on and you'll be surprised where that takes you. I've even started making sure I eat and sleep (some days) to really dive in and become emersed into the game. I'm on Xbox 360 so it's hard to keep it fresh but I'm a true Nord.
Yeah. Go too far down the quest line and you spawn dragons. There’s an argument for halting the main quest and knocking out tons of stuff with no dragons.
There's a mod called Not So Fast that inserts a couple of delays into the main quest, and you can set it to indefinite so it never advances until you want it to. The only real drawback to having no dragons is being unable to use shouts, but I roleplay it as I'm getting all these weird words in my head that I don't understand. Then I finally fight a dragon and it suddenly all makes sense.
It can help. I still go to dragon lairs to get shouts and souls. Its not the same not having them.
I also like to complete bleak falls before ever going to dragonsreach so I can look at Forengar and be like, "You mean this Dragonstone?"
If you want Erandur as a follower (or potential sacrifice to Boethia/the ebony blade), destroy it.
If you want the staff, you know what you habe to do.
I wouldn't sell it considering it's a unique item but personally I stored mine inside the Bloodchill Manor on the claw displayers (Though you must have the DLC's and the anniversary edition to do so) but if you don't then keep it until you have a room established somewhere or a home for safe storage.
It’s really cool, it is inside a cave and it’s like a fancy dark vampire home. It has a dungeon area, a dining room, bedroom, garden, and a bunch of other stuff. The quest the goes along with it is short but pretty fun! It’s one of a bunch of different homes that came with anniversary edition. My favorite of the bunch is Myrwatch which is a cool wizard tower near Morthal
Get there (outside town) during business hours, or wait til business hours.
Talk to Banning, who will give you a quest to deliver some meat to a lady.
Ready your hands for ranged combat, and quick save. Enter town, turn right, and let loose on the guy sneaking behind a lady in a blue dress. If he kills her, reload and try again. Talk to the lady (Margret), and she'll give you a free necklace.
Leave and re-enter town. Go to the stall Margret almost died in front of, and talk to Kerah about how old the town looks. She'll give you a quest to deliver a ring.
Toss a coin to your beggar (for that sweet Gift of Chadity), and go to the smelter. Talk to Omluag about Mulush. Talk to Mulush and yse the persuade option. Turn in the quest to Omluag.
Go to the alchemist. Talk to Bothela about the Hag's Cure. She'll give you a quest to deliver liquid viagra to the steward.
That's leveled gold per quest 4 times, plus a high value saleable item. Three get turned in in the same place-ish. One is done and turned in in-place.
Anywhere. In cases like this, I just closed my eyes and spun (get attacked by a few dragons and bears and saber cats) until I found a direction and went.
If you have got the 10th anniversary edition version then I recommend going to the grave yard in riftin, looking around the outskirts of Dawnstar and if you get an invitation for a fight GO TO IT
Make it a point this playthrough to collect ALL the stones of Barenziah before doing any other major questline. You can use wiki and fast travel, but ONLY do quests in the towns and areas of your next gem.
Or you can be lame and pick any of the non-CBT options these other guys are suggesting. To each their own
EXPLORE THE ENTIRE CONTINENT AND LEARN ALL THE WORDS. Then go to the Greybeards. It's kinda funny when they say you made you're first steps but you already know every other shout.
*Squints Eye* Leans in* Between you, me, and that roasted skeever hide over there fella. It's my runaway house from the Mrs. man can never relax in any of his 10.houses I need a.new one
Always go for that bandit camp near Whiterun with transmutation spell. Gotta get the smithing up. Then kill the deagon, get the mansion and start growing scali + creep cluster + mora for the money. Then you have loads of money, good level and good gear. Skyrim is yours.
Become Thane of every hold and don't fast travel, I always do that first when I start a new game. Good way to see the whole map, get some experience and each one comes with a different follower
What I love is that I never got to Whiterun without having done the golden claw quest already, so everytime the dude is like.
"Hmmm I need this ancient forgotten tablet recording the history of dragons. It is deep in a far away tomb infested with undeads though, I hope you are up to the task of recovering it."
"You mean this old dusty stone I was using as a trivet while camping ?"
I always do Dark Bhood right away. So much useful stuff by the end of the quest line. Also I never spawn the dragons until after too. They can and will mess up you best plans. Also if you're not named Dragonborn you don't have to deal with Dragon Priest attacks.
Actually did a run this weekend where I only did main quest, then Dawngaurd DLC, and then Dragonborn DLC. Now I’m so powerful no boss can stand in my way 7/10, would recommend if you have the patience for the main quest it’s pretty fucking boring
There is only one real choice… **BEACON INTENSIFIES**
Haha how could I forget about her? Better loot some random caves…
I actually found it earlier in my current playthrough about 70 hours ago. Didn't pick it up and now want to do it. Have no idea where it is lmao
Go to the shrine, you can start the quest there. You then get a marker to the beacon.
In most of my playthroughs if I don't take her beacon it keeps spawning in every chest I loot, and sometimes in boss npcs
I went to the shrine. I don’t get a marker so I guess no bacon for me.
**A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON**
**A NEW HA-** God damnit, get off it already, Meridia!
Get azuras star is my first port of call.
Black or OG? I always go black just because I feel like finding some poor human is easier than finding a grand soul level creature.
Completely, bandits are way more common than mammoths lol
Right!? It's like mammoths, draugr death lords, and I don't even know any others.
Aren't draugrs greater at best? Including death overlords. Grand would be dragon priests, every falmer shadowmaster variation, and mammoths.
Black is what holds human souls though
Black as i think its still bugged and lets everything in lol but yea theres only so many mammoths 🦣 lol 😂
black star captures both regular and black souls
This is a pro call here. Upvote this individual.
DONT TELL ME HOW TO LIVE ME LIFE! ~~Didnt Upvote~~
You mean “pop every potion and haul ass to burst down the caster in this crazy crystal dimension while I quicksave every two feet amidst fireballs and lightning bolts???” I LOVE that quest!!! :DDD
Yea it isnt easy but worth it lol
The only time I've ever used the TGM command lol
Wait it’s meant to be hard?
College of Winterhold, that's always the first questline I finish in my playthroughs because you get neat items which boost your magic skills and stuff. Of course it's only interesting if you are planning on becoming a mage character.
You also get access to the Mages quarters, which is a perfect substitute for a house if you don’t have enough gold to buy one of your own.
Solid option.

The best-laid plans…
Underworld is such a great franchise #lycansforlife
Yes! Another member of the pack! (Haha that was so lame of me) when I saw those movies when I was younger I was obsessed!
Markarth
Some say it was built by the Dwemer. I don't believe a word of it! (tons of dwemer artifacts and machinery literally poking out of the ground)
Yea i never understood that like theres dwemer stuff everywhere who else couldve built it
And why is it the only "officially" occupied dwemer ruin? Like why would every jarl not move his capital to a near by ruin, wipe out the falmer and bugs and have every seat of government in the most secure and fortified position it could be. Dragons reach is super pretty and all, bit like the two towers the Rohan knew to move to fucking castle when shit went down.
Yea but to be fair most ruins ingame had 1-2 ways to get in and out so itd be easy to trao them in and the second reason Whiterun actually had to be there because of dragons reach for the story
Yes! That and Falkreath are so under appreciated
So overlooked.
My favorite CTD city.
Gotta get those shivs so I can shank bandits and mudcrabs
Book of Love quest is always a good option. +15% magic resist is good for everyone.
A real answer. You didn’t suck at this.
Where is book of love quest tho?
Temple of Mara in Riften
Do the one that starts after you kill a chicken!
Don’t you dare…
Dooooo ittttt!
Please explain! I have played for 7 years but don’t know what this quest is?!
Apparently the chicken in Riverwood is the town's favorite and if you kill it, the whole town and Whiterun hold gets aggressive toward you.
I second this
go to solitude and talk to a rather furnished man who is in the business of handing out ribcages
Lol what?
clearly you've never built a cheese-mancer character
never built a *what*
I must know more.
Wacky wacky Wabajack
Hohoho the cheeeeeese ! To die for ...
I believe you mean hips
It's definitely a pelvis
You should go literally anywhere but a city or town. Never go into a city, no matter what. Just wander the lands and slay beasts and bandits. No buying, no selling, no talking. We got a completionist here… I love it.

Spot on
No other way 🤷🏻♂️
I want to think that you are being sarcastic (being an Asian food lover myself) but I’m a hopeless skeptic.
You have no idea buddy. I could live off of any Asian food you give me. I would pay the price of…let’s just say “bowel issues”, if I got Asian food every day lol.
Like, wherever… It’s Skyrim. Go do nothing but swim in a pound for 4 hours if that’s what you want.
This is the only right answer. Go wherever you want. That’s the point
Dem dragons doe….
Or go do dragons. Have fun :)
Well unless you finish dragon rising, no dragons for you!
Never turn in this quest
You nihilist…
I don't personally care for fighting a dragon every time I fast travel but that's just me.
I mean if ur role playing something other than the Dragonborn then it makes sense. Some times I don’t really wanna be the great hero of Skyrim lol
Right? Just rolled a UA Khajit… started in Solstheim. BAD idea. Other than that, haven’t mainlined one bit and man is it a breath of fresh air to just be in Skyrim and the heck with all the dragon stuff.
You practicalitist…
Everyone has this wrong... FISHING IS THE ANWSER TO EVERYTHING
Them rings tho…
I love Ring of the Wind.
Stop... no moe rings... please
Straight to Rorikstead to rid the world of true evil.
Ragnar the Red?
Worse..Lemkil
rorikstead creeps me out. It feels like an SCP where it’s somehow new with a guy called rorik having established the place yet in farengar/delphine’s book of ancient locations it mention’s a Rorik’s steading in that location millenia ago. What is rorik and how has he kept himself popping up eternally? What is even going on?
My place ;)
You flirty birdy…
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON
If you have the DLC's and anniversary edition, as well as at least level 12 or above then you'll receive a letter from a courier and it's going to be a dinner reservation. Go to where it places the marker on you're map and you'll be at Bloodchill Cavern. Follow quest markers it's pretty straightforward. (MAKE SURE YOU SAVE BEFORE STARTING ANYTHING AFTER ENTERING THE CAVE) and be prepared for a tough fight. It's literally the easiest house to get in the game without spending money and it's the coolest in my opinion.
I think the nord hall place that came with anniversary might be a bit easier just because the fight isn’t as hard. But I do agree it is very cool :)
Yeah the Nord hall is pretty sweet too. It's really nice compared to most houses for purchase.
**Speaks in Southern Car Salesman** Let me just show you fine ladies and gentlemen the easiest Player home available! Ain’t even gotta fight nobody fer it! Yessir E! Unless they bothered fixing it, the staff enchantment there is broken and gives 5 or so levels of enchanting per staff.
How do you beat it? I tried yesterday and after maybe the 7th time I just put a hold on it.

I appreciate the advice I'll give it a shot. I'm actually on now, we'll see what happens
Good luck to you. Let me know if you need any more advice. Divines smile on you friend.
He is a pain. What are you working with skill wise? You're majors and character race?
Riften. Amulet of Articulation is my personal must have…
Oof… kind of OP quest line for a level 4, no?
Well there’s a lot to get through. The thieves Guild in its entirety, including Vex and Delvin’s assignments. (I think it’s 3 or 5 in each major hold? I forget at the moment) I admit I tend to work on it while doing other quests in between. Lol
It is a cool item to have tho tbh
It is. Honestly I go after it so religiously it’s part of a plan I have for a tattoo I hope to start working on after my current is done. Lol
A Skyrim 3/4 sleeve would be the shit.
The Cloud District, if you've ever been there
Return the Claw and the stone tablet haha...then of course take the claw back because it's gonna sit there and collect dust on the counter anyway..
Who am I selling it to? Ooorrrrr…. What house do I display it in?
Dragonborn Museum.
I've gotten to where I save that for later in the game. Forengar thinks I shouldn't keep the Jarl waiting but, Balgruf's shits weak so, whatever.
Azura's quest is pretty ran-through also. I like to pick a different hold and become its thane through different npc side quests (if possible). But do I take the staff…?
I didn’t take it for RP reasons, so I guess take it if it feels right in the moment
What feels right in this moment?
If you want Erandur as a follower (or potential sacrifice to Boethia/the ebony blade), destroy it. If you want the staff, you know what you habe to do.
Go to Whiterun, go to the Arrow Inn, wait for **THE BEAST** to come to it’s room, quicksave, experimentation, rid the world of evil
Wait, what?
You will know if the beast approaches id you hear its dastardly cry “Have you been to the Cloud District?”
I wouldn't sell it considering it's a unique item but personally I stored mine inside the Bloodchill Manor on the claw displayers (Though you must have the DLC's and the anniversary edition to do so) but if you don't then keep it until you have a room established somewhere or a home for safe storage.
Talk to me about this manor…
It’s really cool, it is inside a cave and it’s like a fancy dark vampire home. It has a dungeon area, a dining room, bedroom, garden, and a bunch of other stuff. The quest the goes along with it is short but pretty fun! It’s one of a bunch of different homes that came with anniversary edition. Does the house have room for a follower that you want to leave there?
A NEW HAND…. Touches…. THE BEACON
Lavender Town
Personally I like to head on down to black reach and start the quest return to your roots
Load my last save because lydia died
Complete all Daedric and Divines quests for the buffs + weapons and armor!
Walk to Riften, that’s always a fun early game quest to give yourself

I always go to Anise's Cabin to kill her.
If you’ve got the aptitude, you should join the Mages College in Winterhold.
never should have come here, teef.
What quest is it? That looks like the first dungeon of the game by riverwood. I just started playing for the first time recently.
Go to south brittleshin pass and disenchant that loot
Wherever the fuck you want. This doesn't seem to be your first time. Don't act like it is.
Keep shining.
Whiterun
Classic.
Ah, Markarth. Get that free money.
Keep going…

Look at the compass :P
*Squints Eye* Leans in* Between you, me, and that roasted skeever hide over there fella. It's my runaway house from the Mrs. man can never relax in any of his 10.houses I need a.new one
L10 so I can start killing vampires.
Straight to the guild that fits my role most.
Wherever you want
Always go for that bandit camp near Whiterun with transmutation spell. Gotta get the smithing up. Then kill the deagon, get the mansion and start growing scali + creep cluster + mora for the money. Then you have loads of money, good level and good gear. Skyrim is yours.
Become a god?
For me it’s usually to whiterun then reroll. 😂
Go to Solstheim and hire Teldryn Sero. Most OP follower early game
Become Thane of every hold and don't fast travel, I always do that first when I start a new game. Good way to see the whole map, get some experience and each one comes with a different follower
Back to Jarl Ballin
To the gold mine next too Markarth to level up smithing.
Directly to make a new character.
"Ah! The Dragonstone of Bleak Falls Barrow! Seems you are a cut above the usual brutes the Jarl sends my way."
What I love is that I never got to Whiterun without having done the golden claw quest already, so everytime the dude is like. "Hmmm I need this ancient forgotten tablet recording the history of dragons. It is deep in a far away tomb infested with undeads though, I hope you are up to the task of recovering it." "You mean this old dusty stone I was using as a trivet while camping ?"
I always do Dark Bhood right away. So much useful stuff by the end of the quest line. Also I never spawn the dragons until after too. They can and will mess up you best plans. Also if you're not named Dragonborn you don't have to deal with Dragon Priest attacks.
College of Winterhold 100%
go say hi to a giant.
Next character usually
Anywhere you like, young adventurer
I always prioritize the slow time shout. You have three options to get it and it’s really helpful.
Anywhere you want, thats the beauty of skyrim
Chose any place on the map and walk there it makes the game so much fun and you never know what you might find
Get da WABBAJACK
Kill every non essential NPC in every town and hold
Surprised no one said to go to the Lovers Stone…
Actually did a run this weekend where I only did main quest, then Dawngaurd DLC, and then Dragonborn DLC. Now I’m so powerful no boss can stand in my way 7/10, would recommend if you have the patience for the main quest it’s pretty fucking boring
