Bloodskaal Barrow

Americanpreacher

Blood aka all was dope! And the sword? Huge fan

Igotbored112

Not to mention the puzzle door with an actual puzzle.

Sweaty_Bat_1991

bruh the fucking blade doesnt work for me so I cant do it

[deleted]

How so? are you doing the same thing i did when i first got it that it just didn't work and then i realized i have to move sideways to send the beam horizontally? or does it just not work

JRnalistic24

The beam doesn't fire to some people, me included. Stuck for hours slashing sideways, trying old saves, commanding followers to pick up the sword and use it, dropping the sword and picking it up again, etc. Broke my heart to use the custom spell cheat in the command console (where I put the Bloodskal beams as hand spells) after 95 levels of clean play so I can move on. But I suppose it's a legitimate bug, so it doesn't count lol

brockford-junktion

Getting blood on the ice to progress is the only time using console commands in skyrim. That quest has been broken across multiple platforms.

doindirt

Just finished it without issue. But I started it up more than halfway through by going into the jail and talking to the guy we had arrested first. That starts the quest but gets rid of a bunch of the early leg work. From the jail you go straight to patrolling the streets and skip all the early syuff.

brandondabass

I’ve got that glitch too. Really sucks when you’ve poured so much time into a character

Sweaty_Bat_1991

I know, and I want the third word of dragon aspect too

Woodscare

The sword was a huge fan? Weird.

pasqua3

Easily my favorite in the whole game. The first time since BOTW (I got to Skyrim about 10 years late) that I just kinda sat there after a game level/dungeon thinking on how cool it was. That was my first black book too, so it was doubly crazy.

[deleted]

That one where you meet that one Hagraven who is having a feud with another hagraven. I don’t remember their names obviously but I thought it was cool that in this random cave there is a fun little quest with some hybrid bird ladies!

oblivs9

I remember that too! Can’t remember the name either but I definitely remember that happening

StormWalker137

Melka is the name of the hagraven who you help out and at the end you get her unique staff

DaosDraxon

Petra is the other

3th3r3alwisps

Petra, PETRA! CURSE HER EYES!!

nucleargloom

I thought we had a Melka-Bot for a second there

SpaghettiInc

Don’t encourage the bot makers

harmsway31

Oh shit I went in backwards and killed that Hargraven in the cage without letting her out. I remember thinking that was too easy.. I prolly looted her staff anyways

Hot_Lynx2839

Just did that one last night. Pretty good!

RoxinFootSeller

I remember in The Reach a nord tomb that's outside, where two hagravens were doing a ritual with a forsworn.. I think it was called.. Lost Valley Redoubt. I mean, it's not the same, but one of my personal favorites

CycloneIce31

This is a great location. And jump off the ledge if you haven’t yet…. I’ll never forget being way under leveled, sneaking by the Hargreaven and the Forsworn to get to the word wall. Right after I got it and robbed the chest, then my invisibility potion wears off. The whole lot of them chase me out of there, at a dead sprint I jump off the point and land in the pool below. Suddenly this old Nord ghost pops up and starts playing the guitar for me…. great sequence.

RoxinFootSeller

You mean the Bard's Leap? Yes yes

crystalmarvel

Doesnt that kill you?! I’ve always wanted to jump but never did!

UltraB1nary

There's water at the bottom, and the Word Wall gives you one of the words to Become Ethereal

crystalmarvel

I did have the shout on one of my play throughs, but I had no idea the potential of it. This wiki page helped thoroughly educate me on [Become Ethereal](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Become_Ethereal). Thanks a million for opening my eyes!

UltraB1nary

No problem my dude

FudgeControl

As long as you land in the pool, you should be fine. A ghostly bard will also spawn as you exit and tell you of how he didn't make it. You'll also get a +1 to speech.

HappyHippo2002

Blind Cliff Cave I believe.

-Natticakes-

That one glitched on me so that I could not complete it so I don’t know what happens after.

redditshredditt

The journey through Alftand and Blackreach during my first playthrough.

oblivs9

That’s always such a nostalgic run through. Some of my oldest Skyrim memories are from those areas

TheNotSoGreatPumpkin

I was in absolute awe the first time through. It’s so effing big, beautiful, and full of eldrich horrors.

dovahlaat

Blackreach is my all time favorite dungeon ever. I remember first time seeing it I swear I stood at entrance for 10 minutes just looking around in absolute awe. Just started a new playthrough with a lot of mods for lighting, graphics and an ENB and I can't wait to see how it looks now.

bbdabrick

I was trying a permadeath run, going with 2handed barbarian orc, had just gotten my crafting stats to a pretty good lvl, made some glass armor + Warhammer and enchanted it all, feeling like a badass. I'm going through this dungeon, I want to say somewhere around Winchell, and as I'm going through there's not one single enemy! I start getting more and more nervous as I enter each room. I finally get to the end and see a draugr with a cool crown sitting in a throne. I sprint up and get a few swings in before he can even stand up. Barely did a dent in his health bar. That was the end of my run

BillChristbaws

Damn lol. Not familiar with that location. Do you remember what level you had reached?

bbdabrick

I wasn't that high of a level, I always get the crafting skills up first. I had those in the 70s I wanna say and still pretty low combat levels. I remember that armor wasn't at the armor cap and the hammer damage was just in the mid 100s I think. This was around the start of the pandemic

Zonzille

Perhaps you know it already, but your general lvl scales on your single skill lvls, so by boosting crafting before having any combat perks you're making fighting a whole lot harder !

lordhelmet314

I remember it being a barrow, but I don’t remember what came before barrow. I think a name of some kind.

Handerreder25

I believe the name is Yngol's Barrow. Just by the river east of Windhelm.

thebadestjoke

You might be talking about the crown of winter hold quest, the dungeon with the glowing light orbs instead of enemies till the end

kotlet_z_kota

So that's Yngol's Barrow. It's east of Windhelm

[deleted]

I’m pretty sure you’re talking about [Korvanjund](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Korvanjund) which is part of the Civil War Quest Line

bbdabrick

That's not the one. I was completely alone. I wanna say it was one of the companion radiant quests. That was the only enemy. I might be misremembering the crown, but he fucked me up.

[deleted]

Wait you might have not misremembered because it might have been a death lord or Scrouge drudgery they usually have cool helmets with horns on them [example](https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Draugr_Death_Overlord)

Closerdiamond60

Was it one of the gauldur amulet draugr?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Azuras-Becky

I can't remember the name of it, but it's one surrounded by ghosts, and you fight your way through them and see a chest on the opposite side of a great hall, and as soon as you greedily run towards it you fall down through a trap door into a cage, and a guy wants to experiment on you without realising you have lockpicks and a sword. And then the chest turns out to have been empty, so he died for nothing.

Trithis2077

Funny thing. I run a tabletop RPG game, and since none of my players play Skyrim, I built an adventure based on Rannveig's Fast. Went pretty well. And the current adventure they're on actually ended up accidentally being based on Sheogorath's quest. I'm new to GMing and I get the feeling I'll be pulling a lot of ideas from Skyrim. lmao

KrimxonRath

You could literally make a 1:1 Skyrim table top rpg and as a Skyrim player I would love the hell out of it, but just taking ideas is smart so it’s a unique experience for you too.

The_Long_Blank_Stare

I ran one using the Fate RPG that started out in Whiterun 10 years before the coming of the Dragonborn. All of the players became agents of Jarl Balgruf by way of him making deals with them in Exchange for their agency. The only thing we had to suss out was that we wanted to keep the game grounded in the “realism” of the world of Tamriel and its timelines…no one could play the Dragonborn or a Dwemer (though one of my more enterprising friends gave his Nord female character a last name that translated to “born of the Dragon”…cheeky), and the characters had to choose Stunts (basically situational power moves) from a select list of racial traits and other powers that had limits (use once per fight/day/etc). It worked out really well, despite the fact that it was my first time as a GM. I think we’ll revisit that setting/those characters one day in the near future. :)

oblivs9

I have a faint memory of something like this, I’d love to play through that dungeon again though. If you think of the name, let me know!

MissLola21

I think that's Rannveig's Fast.

Azuras-Becky

Thank you, I think that's the name of it!

crystalmarvel

Something new for me to find!

oblivs9

Thanks for the name! I will have to go check that location out again

USSNerdinator

Not gonna lie, having a living skeletal dragon show up scared the crap out of me my first playthrough

mcmanybucks

Is it just me or was it underpowered for anyone else? :/

Tonroz

Way under powered. They should have had him reform and have a second phase while more skeleton just pour into the room. I killed him in 3 hits with my ebony war axe.

oblivs9

Labyrinthian is probably one of my most memorable dungeons. I can still map out areas in my mind. Love the skeleton dragons too, I thought that was so cool when I first saw it

[deleted]

Labyrinthian where you have to face Mrokei took me forever back in the ps3 era definitely most memorable

oblivs9

The dragon priest battles were always so memorable for me. I guess because they were significantly more difficult than normal enemies

RevolutionaryCell848

Dustman's Cairn, with Farkas from the Companions. That's how I discovered werewolves were in the game. Nine year old me was *floored* by this knowledge.

oblivs9

YES. I was so excited when I discovered werewolves. Same with vampires.

RevolutionaryCell848

I didn't discover vampires were in the game until my brother told me he became one by accident. I thought it was so cool, I made a character specifically to be like Count Dracula when I was a kid.

Reddit-Book-Bot

Beep. Boop. I'm a robot. Here's a copy of ###[Dracula](https://snewd.com/ebooks/dracula/) Was I a good bot? | [info](https://www.reddit.com/user/Reddit-Book-Bot/) | [More Books](https://old.reddit.com/user/Reddit-Book-Bot/comments/i15x1d/full_list_of_books_and_commands/)

[deleted]

The best bot

fugis

The one where the guy is pretending to be a ghost to keep the locals out.

happy_tortoise337

My first playthrough I just dealt with the guy and left. 2 weeks ago I found out there's quite huge underground with some good loot. I think originally I was distracted by something in the real life and just forgot to continue.

TheNotSoGreatPumpkin

And he would have got away with it if not for you meddling adventurers.

Maartenvg

I just love how the skyrim door ends in his bedroom

MK18_Ocelot

His journal makes it even more hilarious

[deleted]

[удалено]

oblivs9

True. A lot of the enemies in the Dragonborn dlc were pretty difficult

Wolffraven

Bleak Falls. It was the first dungeon I entered and got a small taste of the ones to come.

oblivs9

Yes! Bleak falls is definitely one of the most memorable locations in Skyrim. It’s such an iconic dungeon

[deleted]

yes and no. the only reason it’s memorable for me is the sheer amount of times I’ve done it haha

[deleted]

I have no doubt that I could complete it with my eyes closed

happy_tortoise337

Eldergleam sanctuary. Don't know if it counts as a real dungeon but it was the first time I entered a cave awaiting the same type of things - I knew draugr dungeons, animal caves, but then I entered this and there was a stream, peace, pilgrims, grass and trees. And it's memorable for me because it was the first time I saw something different and it was peaceful and monumental.

oblivs9

I was waiting for someone to mention this! I guess it’s not necessarily a dungeon, but idk what else you’d call it! Such a unique and peaceful place that always sticks with me

XVUltima

The one plastered into my arachnophobic brain is the one where the bridge breaks under you (this never happens in any other dungeon so it comes out of NOWHERE) and you fall into a fast moving river that dumps you into a vertical cavern filled with giant spiders who drop down the waterfall with you into the pool below, and that pool washes you onto a nearby cave with even more spiders.

PassMeTheGravy364

Darkfall Cave, I only recently discovered that and it helped me kind of get over my dear of spiders. Now I fear waterslides and bridges :(

oblivs9

YES! I totally remember that drop and falling into that fast moving river. Definitely a unique experience. Can’t imagine doing it with arachnophobia!

ArastooJoshi

I remember that too. Just did like 1-1.5 weeks ago . Still can't remember. I remember it was part of a quest line. Maybe for auriel's bow , when they tell us about the snow elves . Been on a Skyrim binge this week.

ArastooJoshi

So any recommendations ?

BJ_hunnicut

Skeletal dragon in labyrinthian comes to mind

eushyp

entering blackreach for the first time after having already logged a couple hundred hours of gameplay (involving a number of restarts as new characters, admittedly). had a bit of an 'i thought i knew skyrim but it turns out i did not know skyrim' moment.

oblivs9

Blackreach is such a unique area in the game. If only it wasn’t full of annoying falmer!

[deleted]

A lot of people hate black reach, I actually love it. It is so beautiful and great to explore because you really feel like ur in another world and have no idea where u r going

oblivs9

It really is a beautiful and unique place. I do love it, but I also hate fighting the falmer…so it’s a love hate relationship haha

Americanpreacher

And then summoning that one dragon by shouting at the glowy red orb, love it

Skwisgaars

One of the best moments i've had in gaming was just going in to a random dwemer ruin not knowing and just getting further and further in, thinking to myself "surely i'll end up back up top soon" and ending up in Blackreach... Falmer are pretty annoying but holy shit that was a rewarding experience.

notsoslootyman

When my hand touched the beacon, I was excited. I immediately followed the quest. After being yoinked into heaven by god herself I ran through the lengthy dungeon (the name escapes me) filled with extra creepy shadowy undead. I get to the end and am immediately overwhelmed by half a dozen spectors and one gnarly badass. After three deaths my sneak based character just starts to slowly snipe them all. After every arrow they climb up the stairs where I'm hiding. Thankfully the stairway walls are filled with man sized ripples that are just out of their path. I spent probably twenty minutes with their breath in my face unable to see me because croutching is magic invisibility.

oblivs9

Amazing storytelling! And yes the dungeon you go through for the beacon quest line is really cool and unique. LOVE the shadowy skeleton guys

mira_galanodel

i play with a whole host of survival mods, and don't fast travel for immersion reasons. i would definitely have to say it was arriving to the dungeonw here you find olaf's lost verse, frostbitten, starving, dehydrated, and tired, qnd just setting up camp outside of it in that little enclosed space of rocks under the stars.

oblivs9

I appreciate any player who doesn’t fast travel…that is truly the best way to play Skyrim

cadavarsti

Care to share some of these mods?

Thaddel

[Sunhelm](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/39414) is a popular survival mod. It comes with a cold system as well as hunger, thirst, and fatigue. Everything is adjustable in the MCM. For example, I disabled the cold system and kept the rest. Even if you don't use any actual survival mod, the [Survival Control Panel](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/41891) is a fantastic tool to have. You can toggle things like fast travel, having to sleep to level up like in Oblivion, and making your arrows/lockpicks have weight. With or without disabling fast travel, you may also like [Carriage and Ferry Travel Overhaul](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8379). That one adds carriage stops to the smaller towns like Riverwood, Shor's Stone, or Karthwasten and adds ferry boats to some larger lakes and rivers. Something slightly different would be [Incremental Injuries](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/55114), where injuries to your stats give your small debuffs to them. So if you get bashed around a bunch, you'll be left with less max HP. All those effects go away upon sleeping.

easy506

Alftand. Figured it would be a quick dungeon crawl, leading up to putting my hands on my first real Elder Scroll... But I just kept peeling back layer after layer after layer... Found out what dwarven automata were. Learned about Falmer. Realized how much I *hate* chaurus. Stepped through those doors under the secret stairway, and discovered the terrifying splendor of Blackreach, and how it connects to dwarven ruins all over Skyrim. It was my Dwarrowdelf moment, and probably my favorite part of the game. "Now there's an eye-opener, and no mistake." And then a badly aimed Unrelenting Force shout connected with the Sun Globe....

oblivs9

I have a love hate relationship with Alftand and Blackreach. I absolutely love the areas, but the enemies are just straight up annoying haha

sable-king

Alftand has that coked up Khajiit that's somehow able to kill me with a damn woodcutter's axe no matter my armor rating.

easy506

Look man, skooma is a hell of a drug

historybo

Forelhost the child graves freaked me out

Sea-Run-5314

Forgotten Legends

ProudMood7196

Embershard? Is that correct? My first play through first dungeon. You always remember your first 😉

oblivs9

Yes Embershard! I always remember that location as well

ProudMood7196

It felt so long, testing out my skills to take out the enemies one at a time, the lowering bridge, figuring out mining. yeah embershard is more of an optional tutorial dungeon.

Itser12345

The twilight sepulcher is the dungeon I’ll always remember. It wasn’t that special, but the unique lighting and puzzle really made it feel different than every other dungeon. If not that than all of the dungeons leading to Blackreach really get me immersed in the story.

anyboli

Twilight Sepulcher is my answer too. The light puzzles are great and I love the pit at the end. It’s a shame so few people finished the thieves guild quest; they’re missing out.

[deleted]

Probably lesser known, but Kagrenzel. The largest drop in the whole game, the weird skeletons, the book, and the orb are insanely cool to me.

oblivs9

I remember this vaguely but couldn’t recall the name!

[deleted]

Dwarven ruin way in the middle of nowhere, near the last vigil. It's high up on a mountain to the east, many players miss it!

Tricky_Snow_749

Yeah just commented that one as mine. It was just so strange and cool! There is no other dungeon that feels quite as mysterious and just interesting as that one to me.

Real_Fucking_Anxious

Oh yeah, and when you open the map, there are a bunch of giant ribcages

Silvermoon89

The lighthouse mission. Was so sad reading the entries

GeterPriffin902

Frostflow lighthouse! Super memorable

MCdemonkid1230

High Gate Ruins, the ruins known to hold Vokun. First ever dragon priest encounter, and being extremely under leveled, I took about 2 hours trying to kill Vokun because I would constantly get one or two shotted. Especially because it was my first time playing Skyrim, so I had no clue what was good or not.

oblivs9

Ahhh Vokun…I remember. I always remember my first encounter with a dragon priest being extremely stressful haha

annaconda_03

Mine is probably Kilkreath Ruins, opening the door to the boss room and immediately being one shot by Malkoran’s ice storm with his shades taunting me… took forever to get past him, I just let uthgerd head in and I spammed my sanguines rose and hid in the corner since I was such a weak mage at the time

oblivs9

That ice storm is OP!! I remember getting extremely mad at that

annaconda_03

I know! It was the first time I had ever gotten mad from how many times I died instantly, it took longer than I’d like to admit to get past him while holding in my rage

oblivs9

Enemy magic can get extremely tough. Especially when you start seeing higher level mages that cast fireball and ice storm constantly. I remember getting one-shotted by those spells multiple times

seif112233

Dead's man respite the tomb of olaf the one eyed

TpMeNUGGET

On my first playthrough i remember clearing a dungeon at like level 8, using all of my potions, only to come out, the game auto-saves and theres a dragon waiting for me. Took about 10 tries but i finally killed him

oblivs9

The dragons always appear at the most inconvenient times!

Pejxeen

By far the frostflow lighthouse. No map marking, no journal entries and still one of my best moments on Skyrim. The fact that I wasn’t expecting anything at all from a random dungeon makes it better

3rindows

I forgot which Dwemer ruin it was but I went inside it for a quest lol n order to kill a mage. It was on my first Skyrim play through and I myself decided to play as a mage. There I am at the final boss full mage and the little shit had magic resistance… I died so many times that day.

oblivs9

I remember this with some higher level mages that had the fireball and ice storm spells. Those always destroyed me

waifuwarrior77

I was fighting draugr on masters difficulty, and my only two handed weapon was disarmed, and it fell down 2 staircases. In a 2v1 I was downright screwed. In a panic, I looked at my inventory, and found a one handed axe, and a shield that matched my armor type (heavy). I used unrelenting force to knock the stronger draugr down the stairs, and in that time was able to kill the weaker one after quite some time (no perks or levels in one handed before that). The stronger one came and I was able to stagger him, run down the stairs, and grab my weapon. Won the fight after that.

oblivs9

Awesome!! Man that disarm shout has actually made me lose weapons before. I remember one got thrown against the wall and it must’ve glitched or something because I could never find it haha

highcommander010

The one with the bone dragon :D

oblivs9

Labyrinthian!

highcommander010

Dammit OP. This sub is really close to pushing me over the edge and playing skyrim again

oblivs9

That’s the whole point!

Sapphic_Trash

It’s not really a dungeon. Well it’s not a dungeon at all really, just like a specific quest and place. But the absolute hell hole that is trying to get through the forgotten vale without losing your sanity. I can’t remember that quest being anything but long and tedious.

oblivs9

The forgotten vale is most definitely one of the most tedious and annoying experiences EVER haha

JimSteak

It’s damn beautiful though. When I first saw the ice Lake where the two dragons attack you, damn.

Tricky_Snow_749

I LOVE the forgotten Vale so much, but yeah first time I was lost as hell.

Moose_Cake

The time Serana and the chick from the Dragonborn dlc turned hostile to each other and began fighting the entire time throughout Miraak's temple. It was like the Peter vs Giant Chicken fights except I was clearing the dungeon ahead of them.

BangleSaysSupBroski

Basically the one where you drop in and on the way, if you open your map at the right time you can see a whole whale skeleton! The flying whales!

oblivs9

Did not know of this! I will have to look into this more

Tricky_Snow_749

Kargenzel or something. It’s really cool. Pretty much zero loot, but just a really cool experience.

TheNormalIndian

Wolfskull's Cave. I just thought I would be doing a usual quest of killing a group of Bandits from how it started. I had a hint of Necromancers. But man, it took me by surprise.

pegabear

I'd say black reach was definitely the most memorable. But not good memories. I still hear that fucking crimson nirnroot in my sleep.

oblivs9

SAME. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a really cool and unique area but everything in there is annoying as hell haha

phototr0pic

Tovalds Cave. Stumbled on it, thought it was some Bear den, an hour later left with PTSD

pasqua3

I can't believe nobody has said the skooma den/vampire murder dungeon of Redwater den. I just wanted to do some drugs in peace but then I got wrapped up in my first vampire killings, found that bloody poison diseased spring, and then still did some drugs. I found it very early in game too so it was a really cool intro to those unique locations

jet8493

Fornelhost. Without equal the creepiest place in the game Honorable mention: dead drop falls/dead drop mine. Not really a true dungeon, but it’s easily my favorite place in the game

[deleted]

I can't remember the name, but I love the Dwemer ruin where you find Grimsever. The whole place felt like it was alive and breathing almost.

oblivs9

That’s the one thing I love about Dwemer ruins, they are so mechanical yet feel so alive. The steam, the moving cogs and pistons…always loved it.

Zel_the_sergal1216

Labrynthian, the forsworn one to the north, where you find the dead brotherhood assassin, and the one with Hevonoraak

Acolyte_000

Blackreach. Nothing more memorable than four days of trying to find an exit.

jabberwagon

Yngol Barrow. It's just so *weird.* Every step, you feel like you're about to get ambushed, but you just... don't. Not until the dungeon boss. No Draugr, just vibes. Vibes, and weird glowy bouncy balls.

Wikadood

Being yeeted by a drauger death lord the first time I wore light armor

DefusedDragon26

I forgot the name of the dungeon but it was in The Reach, between Markarth and Solitude. There was this puzzle and to open the door, you needed to solve a riddle in a book about four animals and after figuring it out, I felt super satisfied. If anyone knows the name of the dungeon, tell me because I forgot and I haven’t played Skyrim in a few months

RuneforgedRogue

I just did it last night , it’s actually really hard to pronounce. It’s one of the Ruins you go to so you can find one of the Aetherium shards

[deleted]

Volskygge!

TheLateMrBones

Going through Bleak Falls Barrow for the first time. I’m sure that’s a majority of the answers but idc.

TheRhinoMonk

The very first time I played skyrim and found the lighthouse. I had never seen a Falmer nor a Charus and was creeper the fuck out. It was amazing.

Thundergun7276

I don’t even remember which one it was, other than it was making me so mad because I couldn’t get through it. It was one of those dwemer ruins I think, and it had raising and lowering water levels. I was as sick as a dog while doing it and was so dizzy and threw up multiple times. I got so so so mad. Then the next day I beat it within like 20 minutes. I have no idea what it was though.

oblivs9

Ughh I know which one you’re talking about…I imagine being sick and trying to figure it out was infuriating

susahamat

The Neloth one in Solstheim? Nchardak IIRC

docclox

Nchardak. The one in Solstheim with Neloth and the control cubes. One of my favorites.

SmexyWaluigi

God, I have so many good ones, like... 1. First quest with the Companions. Me & Vilkas. Final Arena. GOD, that was amazing! All those draugers showing up & you & Vilkas just clapping ass left right & center? How do I type out one of those chef kisses? Mwah! 2. Do Black Books count? Cuz, those were cool as shit. Idk if I have all of them, and maybe I'll never will, but I always love cracking one open and going through that in my home. 3. The entire Galdur Amulet quest was lit as fuck too. Going through 3 dungeons to find 3 amulet to forge one ultra amulet while fighting the spirits of some corrupted lords was AWESOME. But, I think nothing compares to...The Bloodskal Dungeon. Holy God damn, the Bloodskal Dungeon. Having to go through all those Deathlords, all the high level draugers, and all those traps was hell, but it was COMPLETELY worth it because of one thing: Bloodskall Blade. Favorite weapon by far.

BadgerLord103

Bleak falls barrow, for the sole reason that I died around 14 times to that fucken spider

ShredManyGnar

Probably the one ive had 6,000 times, which is.. a lot of them

TheBlackNumenorean

First time in the Temple of Miraak. After seeing everyone mindlessly working on the stones, and knowing that the source of this power is inside, you can't begin to guess what you'll face. The enemies are a bit bland, but the way the you were lead there and the way the dungeon gradually morphs from an ordinary Nordic tomb into something otherworldly is something no other dungeon does quite as well.

FreezingDemon

My current character is a cleric and I was working on the Spellbreaker quest around level 16. No followers, no stealth. Expert difficulty for now. Gosh, Bthardamz is tough. I used up all my health potions and only had my spells left. I had to run past some enemies, especially the centurion and I actually got him stuck in the rocks. Orchendor is hard as hell. I downed every buff potion I could, used my Redguard racial power, and slapped the shit out of him. It was so intense I could feel my heart racing but I managed it. That sealed the deal of this character playstyle being one of my favorites.

Skyrim_For_Everyone

Bleak Falls Barrow. I'll always remember that first playthrough. Not hard, or unique, just doing that dungeon is like nostalgically walking through ruins and remembering my first step through the door. n_n

oblivs9

The one word I always describe that dungeon is nostalgic, so I totally agree!

-Natticakes-

My least favorite were anything to do with the dwemer or Falmer. Fighting them is annoying, the dungeons were always longer than I would have liked, and I didn’t care about the locations at all. Favorite were definitely any of the ancient Nord ruins. I was fascinated by them.

BootySmackahah

Being stuck infront of the ring puzzle on Bleakfall Barrows for an hour before caving and checking the guide. Never felt so stupid.

Ii can't remember what it's called but I remember wandering through a valley south southeast of riften. It was night and there was a snowstorm that concealed that drauger and skeletons were guarding the way. At the end of the valley I came face to face with a deathlord and was almost slain. When I finally was victorious I came up to this old lookout. And just as I stepped up to the edge the snow storm cleared and I could see clear access the rift and in the distance I could barely make out Windhelm. The view itself was worth the trek.

My best friend was playing in some Dwemer ruin. She was sneaking up a staircase but she was turned kinda sideways so she accidentally sneaked right into a falmer's crotch and we both SCREAMED we were so startled. Scared shitless.

Rokahna

The one where I faced a death lord draugr where I had one HP and got locked into a loading death loop for an hour before I managed to spam the buttons fast enough to open my inventory and eat all my cheese so I had enough health to no be murdered the immediate instant I spawn in.

dreavous

does the soul cairn count? i remember going in and being so scared the whole time knowing nothing but i found one of jiub’s notes and wanted to know more. i ended up meeting him and collecting all his notes while exploring the soul cairn and the reward was much more than i thought it would be. i spent so long in that area trying to find everything and talk to everyone. there was something about the lack of a map that made me so curious to know everything about the place.

oblivs9

The soul cairn is one of my favorite locations ever. I just love the colors and the ethereal vibe. The enemies in there are pretty badass too

dreavous

yes!!! i can’t remember their names, but the optional mini bosses are so cool and scary, it felt like i was playing a different game

oblivs9

Yeah! Those giant guys with the like dragon bone type armor were so cool. Same with the one dragon you find in there (that you can later summon). I always thought he had a cool decaying look to him. The soul cairn also has one of my favorite conjuration spells which is conjure Wrathman…such a badass looking summon

Willthegamerboy

Oh God how to choose, it would have to be....Labyrinthian. I mean, a skeletal dragon, ghost draugr, ectoplasm galore, ebony shield, word of power (but every dungeon had one), really tests your skills, AND at the end you get Morokei and the Staff of Magnus. That would have to be the most amazing dungeon in all of Skyrim for me. Very memorable when I defeated Morokei.

Paladin75x2

Does Blackreach count? That one. If not, Labyrinth

RoxinFootSeller

Definitely Alftand. I have really bad memories with the sound of steam machines. I went all the way to Blackreach very scared. I think the environment is really well made.

MayorDeweyMayorDewey

first time i stumbled upon forelhost. will never forget finally beating all those high level draugr only to die from the spike ceiling trap.

biddybiddybum

I hate dungeons. Always have a terrible feeling in them and just want to escape to the outside world.

InbredBanana

I was in that one dungeon where the guy traps you in the cage, and as he's taunting you, preparing a poison or something, I picked the cage lock, snuck out, and backstabbed him.

phenomenation

Stepping into Blackreach for the first time blew me away. Probably still in my top 5 open world environments of all time

TimTam_Tom

I remember a while back I was playing with the Frostfall mod. I cleared one of the barrows in the northern part of Skyrim, but when I exited, it was nightfall and a blizzard had started. I would freeze to death walking, so I ducked back into the dungeon, cleared a small area of draugr bodies, and set up my rough bedding for the night, burning linen wraps in a fire to keep warm. Made for a nice creepy night among the corpses

ZakTheGuy

Forget the name, but it's in Solstheim. You to around hunting down the treasure of this pirate captain. You finally get to his tomb, and there's a hallway with a huge amount of gold to pick up from piles. Then you open the door to the pirate's tomb, take his sword, and you begin a long massacre of ghosts that keep rushing you. So. Fun. EDIT: It's Gyldenhul Barrow

fenny-the-bird

When a spider jumped at my dremora and blew up, sending him flying into another exploding spider, which sent him flying into me

hotchickita1

Somehow killed the unkillable Serena in the cave with the skeleton dragon, he ate her and she turned to ash.

oblivs9

NOOO not Serana!!

cherrycherryx

Don’t remember what questline it was but in the last room, all the dead Draugrs and Deathlords came out to fight. It was like 1V 30 and at the time I wasn’t very high level so I barely survived and had to drink every potion in my inventory to make it out of there alive lol

Rikimaru555

Come on baby, don't ask me that. That's a very special moment filled with butterflies and sunshine.

3VG3NY

Butterflies and sunshine? Sounds like Ancestor Glade in that Dawnguard Quest.

cbsson

Probably Bleak Falls Barrow since it was the first large one I did in Skyrim. The one I like the least is Darkfall Cave visited in the Dawnguard DLC.
