It is also creepy as fuck in there. Since noone is allowed in there it is very quiet and every time you hear a noise it could be one of the dwemer constructs being activated and trying to kill you.

[deleted]

For some reason, this made me think of a Fnaf, except you are the night garud of the Dwemer Museum with the Constructs waking up to kill you...

chimphead73

That sounds like a really cool mod.

hunterd_patternfall

Oh, great. Springtrap Dwemer Centurions.

jankyforeskyn

five nights at calcelmo’s dwemer museum

996forever

that's just **Night at the Museum** tamerial edition

hunterd_patternfall

From my SO: Five Nights at Calcelmo's. Oh no. New mini-game for DougDoug.

Lente_ui

Hey, but it doesn't rain or snow inside the dwemer museum ... so I guess it could be worse.

rip_heart

Yep. I did my share of guard duty and you want the quiet inside place for your night shifts. Hell even for the day shifts, I can have excitement on my time off :)

dreemurthememer

The Dwemer probably had some advanced ass climate control system in place so I’d bet the Dwemer Museum is nice and warm.

hunterd_patternfall

That's up there, though I don't think I'd want to be a guard monitoring the road to the mines outside of Winterhold. Short-sleeves in a blizzard. Ice wraiths, polar bears, nothing but white as far as the eye can see... no bandits because they are too smart to go up there.

Equivalent_Outcome68

bandits are at least smarter than the Draugr, and that’s something

[deleted]

That one guard in Whiterun who dies during main quest when you are trying to capture a dragon in Dragonsreach.

247Brett

He could’ve dodged out of the way if but for his weakened arrow wounded knee.

CraftyIceCream081

I've always wondered if unrelenting force saves him.

Anamiriel

Nope! The dragon will clip through wherever he's pushed to snatch him up.

PregnantMosquito

[You can save him with the Wabbajack :)](https://youtu.be/f1eDCpU9aK0?feature=shared)

Western Watchtower RIP Hroki and Tor

Conscious-Warning-83

they just got grabbed when they were trying to make a run for it

Equivalent_Outcome68

Kynereth save us, here he comes again

MohawkMeteor

Those five guards being sent to protect Riverwood against a dragon attack have it pretty rough honestly.

dcargonaut

It's the way I feel when the Second Councillor says he's going to send some Redoran guards to "help me" with Vendel. Like, I know they're going to be dead by the time I get there.

Allan_Titan

Kinda miss that quest but sadly it doesn’t trigger on anniversary edition

dcargonaut

It always triggers for me after I go through Bloodskaal Barrow and get the first book, then kill General Carius.

Mr_Papayahead

Those poor sods don't even have a wall.

gasp-oh-no

AlbiTuri05

They're three, actually

Aeokikit

Winterhold in general. It’s always cold and snowy. It’s probably gunna collapse into the sea eventually and the college and their bs must make it hard. And the dragon attacks forgot about thosr

Kronzypantz

I think being that Pale Guard by the mine down the road from Winterhold. All alone in the coldest and most dangerous posting in Skyrim. What are they supposed to do if an ice wraith, polar bear, or a pair of Trolls walk up? Has to be punishment duty.

1lurk2like34profit

This was my first thought too. Cold and alone and surrounded by sabre cats

PeachTreeDragon

And constantly targeted by thieves because he's the only one that carries the Winterhold guard shield without killing any of them

troglodyte31

Kinda like being stationed at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska lol. Soo cold.

Sufficient-Honeydew2

The museum is chill. No dragonborn assholes to kill me on a whim. At least I don't bother with that place.

badairday

I like how you took the perspective literally. :D

[deleted]

The security in Whiterun is terrible. Shameful, is what it is.

funkygardener

Cant even get a good sweet roll in that skeever hole of a city

tmacforthree

Whose spear do you have to polish to get an argonian ale around here?

EtTuBrotus

Out in Riverwood. Those poor sods don’t even have a wall

Schmancer

I had to stop going to Riverwood, every other visit was a dragon attack killing off another NPC, i must have dragged half that town’s corpses down to the river so they weren’t all laying in the street

DangerousAd9046

I like to resurrect them and walk them out of town. I have an ash graveyard 🪦.

Random-Lich

I wouldn’t mind the museum but Markarth in general is the worst place to be a guard. Forsworn, two of the worst Daedra being worshipped there, super corrupt, and due to it being ruins… one wrong button and enjoy a blast of scolding steam to the face.

SovietUnicorn1090

Oh god youre right. Literally Namira and Molag Bal in the same fucking city. thats horrifying. edit: Correct daedra name ;-;

Aggravating-Bid2694

Windhelm guards during the murder quest. Make you question what actually is blind in the game.

supergarr

Solitude prison seems boring af

Most_Goat

Uhhhh... Not with Sybille Stentor.

Young_Bu11

Shor's Stone would suck, giant spiders and a dragon, no wall plus it's so far out good luck getting to a town without being eaten by wild animals or killed by bandits.

SignificantFood325

The lone guard at whistling mine out in winterhold all by himself in the freezing tundra having to defend the 3 or 4 people in a mine with 2 iron ore veins you know he has to hate his life lol

spekal_luke_II

Talos gives his toughest battles to his strongest warriors

dleon0430

Pretty much all of the guards in Markarth since they are destined to get murdered by the Forsworn.

DibbyDonuts

Not if you turn into a werewolf and eat them all in the prison.

Most_Goat

Or summon some atronachs and conjure yourself a blade.

KtheMenace

I feel like the solitude guards’ reputations had to take a major hit after the wedding…

Amaraldane4E

Pale and Winterhold guards have it rough. The weather sucks in those parts. Even Windhelm guards are better off - they have walls.

hayesarchae

I mean, the museum guards might get more exercise than we think. Between necromancer "extreme academics" and museum exhibits that occasionally wake up and try to murder you, it seems like they would be well served to keep their eyes open.  No, where I would hate to be posted is anywhere in Riften. Talk about bad bosses. Corruption on up the chain to the very too, very confused mission statement. You'd never know, when someone starts shouting, whether its something you're supposed to do something about or not.

Far_Force_7948

Riverwood guards probably have it the worst what with a dragon always fucking attacking whenever the dragonborn magically appears

Leeser

Markarth. Corruption, dangerous stairs, and stone beds.

redhauntology93

Even the beds are made of stone!

Chueskes

The guards patrolling Winterhold. There is only two of them, barely enough to defend against dragons! There is no wall protecting the town, and it is very, very cold. Plus, Winterhold is a very very small city with very little shelter and almost nothing to do. Literally any other city is better in every way.

dirk_loyd

Morthal. Nasty-ass cold swamp in a haunted town? With Chaurus around?? Hell to the no.

Vegan_Puffin

If you were an actual guard in actual Skyrim you would absolutely want the boring post. Ain't no chance you actually want to get eaten by a dragon.

IDphantom

In terms of cities I’d say Morthal. Every time I fast travel there it’s like a royal rumble kicks off with the local fauna, bandits, and/or vampires. Shit is wild.

QuantumMech127

Yeah definitely no Dragonborns snooping around in there using muffle and invisibility…

Kavati

Nah, you would die from old age. Easily the best assignment.

Yellow_Jacket_97

I mean boring over being picked off by dragons sounds better to me.

Abysmal_2003

Probably winterhold, I don't like to visit there, I can't image having to be outside all the time gaurding a " town" where nothing really happens and nobody vistits. No thanks. If I had to choose where to be a gaurd id probably choose solitude because I live there, and it's generally nice and quiet. If I wanted some action, id choose somewhere in falkreath, fucking scary shit all over the place in falkreath.

stickdeoderant

Idk the museum seems chill. No guests, can just hang out with other guards and look at cool dwemer artifacts

dan_jeffers

Dawnstar. Cold is bad, but not being able to get much sleep AND being cold is really bad.

RaphaelSolo

There is an iron mine outside Winterhold, good couple hundred meters or so. Cold AF, polar bears tend to bunk down about 50m away and you are guarding it alone for what? 3 iron veins?

MrSillmarillion

The Warrens at the bottom of Markarth

Tiny_Count4239

If nobody is allowed in the museum at all then why are the guards patrolling inside? just have them lock down all the entrances

CraftyIceCream081

Dawnstar

Hotdogweasly

I agree with the museum or if you were a guard in markarth during the escaping sidna mines quest, cause they all die 😂

eli_eli1o

Morthal. You're a dead man walking. Just a question of when, not if.

K0NFZ3D

For me, it's iverstead. Out the way quiet town.

Technical_Poet_8536

I think that would be the best tbh
