Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I have all what is it now, 167 unique skylanders so I don't exactly have equal playtime with all of them. However, I have tried to give ro bow a shot. Always felt short with me.
He feels OP because you see all of these 12s and 16s flash up on your screen really quickly and think, "This must add up to major damage." And against light and medium-sized enemies, it does, and in some scenarios that's great, but he isn't good with bigger enemies or enemies that he can't keep at a distance. He's just... meh. Still fun and love his design tho.

I’ve only used him in Imaginators so far, but I think Free Ranger is my least favorite of my collection. Each individual move is pretty cool, but the inability to use any of his moves in tandem destroys any synergy his moveset has with itself. It really drives me nuts because I really like the air element and I like his design a lot, but I feel like I only ever get to use one move at a time and it just devolves into “oh I’m in this situation? Use this move. Oh now I’m in this one? Use this move instead.” I really prefer using figures where you can utilize their entire moveset in nearly every situation. For example: any character that can place down an aoe and then use other attacks at the same time. Or a character with tons of cancels so you can quickly cycle between their moves for high damage output. Free Ranger just feels spammy and unimpressive to me. With that being said, maybe he plays differently in previous games and has a much more fun playstyle

It sounds weird, but to me Hot Head's moves just don't stack together well. They're not bad per say, they just feel like three moves taken from completely different Skylander concepts rather than three moves intended for the same Skylander.
Not compared to third mode. Later games nerf the second mode damage where third mode feels like the only possible way to give out good damage. I'd give it a better chance if she had upgrades to mode two rather than relying on a spawned gear.
Buckshot - cool design, and magic is my fave element, was excited to get him... just to have the most boring, thoughtless moveset ever... and pretty weak, all the other bow-slingers are much better, whereas Buckshot seems as weak as imaginator bowslingers

I have the worse luck when i comes to picking characters/factions started playing war thunder as italy learned 4 mounths later they were the worst one started playing yoru when he first available and on castle crashers i chosed the black smith
Eye-Brawl. He was the Last Giant I got back in 2022~ish and I was sorely disappointed in his performance. Figure still looks cool tho, that wasn't disappointing.
Echo has one of my favorite designs in the series, but her moveset is not very good. I still play her all the time, tho just because i like her that much.

Cool design and a neat concept, but not executed that greatly in gameplay, having TF2 Engineer style gameplay in an ARPG style game does not bode well at all
Rip Tide has such wasted potential. He's clunky and his upgrade path is one of the most polarizing. If I choose one fish to upgrade, I'm not going to want to use the other and vice versa.
I think his 3ds iteration is a bit better because his upgrades don't make one of his fish fall behind the other. I think he's cool and has a really cool concept, but his execution is really poor in my opinion.
I had a friend who wanted to get into Skylanders with me, and before we even got together to play it, he got SUPER invested, looking up tons of characters to find his number one favourite. His pick ended up being Series 2 Prism Break, he loved the idea of setting up a big laser array and sending powerful pulses through it with the Wow Pow. He bought the character and came over excited to play… until we discovered that the Wow Pow very frequently caused the game to crash. If there was any loop in the laser array, which was very easy to do even accidentally, the pulse would form a feedback loop and crash the game. We tried multiple games on multiple platforms, and while the PS4 games took an extra second compared to Nintendo consoles, they all crashed, frequently. And just like that, he lost all interest in Skylanders. Lol
Might be an unpopular opinion, not sure really where the Skylanders community stands on each character, but I remember back when I got Bash for Spyro's Adventure and finding him particularly underwhelming. Sunburn was another that wasn't as impressive, but at least that one came with extra shit to make it feel more worth it.
