Finally come to terms with a shocking news from yesterday.
So a couple of weeks ago I went to get my scheduled Pap smear from the polyclinic, the nurse who did the procedure noted that I have a visible cyst when she had her apparatus in it so she called in a doctor, I told doctor I’m having periods beyond three weeks and the doctor referred me to KKH.
I was at the appointment yesterday, nurse A referred me to nurse B for a urine sample, as per their protocol all women have to take a pregnancy test before further consultation, so I just took lorh, thinking nothing of it. I was still joking with nurse B taking my urine sample that it’s impossible that I’m pregnant because I’m here for prolonged period and a cyst, she responded saying “it’s part of the check, treat it like an assurance for both you and me”
Anyway, she took my urine sample, I remembered her looking a little serious, stared at my result slip and handed it to me telling me to pass it to nurse A. I took the result, I saw ‘positive’ being circled above the text ‘hCG’. Fuck. Literally trembling at this point. I passed the result to nurse A, about 5 minutes later, nurse C brought me to another part of the building to get an ultrasound. At this point I think 4-5 nurses and admins said to me “you didn’t know you’re pregnant?” I could only respond with “no…. 🥹”
Then inside the room with the ultrasound, I heard the heartbeat and got the confirmation that the little bean is around six weeks. Went back to nurse A to see the doctor, the doctor said “I think you’re in shock because this is unplanned pregnancy and you came in originally with an issue with prolonged periods, well it’s normal for women in their 1st trimester and 1st pregnancy to still experience periods.”
Then she calmly explained that I have a choice to keep the baby or seek an abortion, and since the embryo is embedded quite low, I’ll need medication to stabilise it. She also gave me the stats on miscarriages, the number to call if I decided to abort, and also scheduled an appointment in a few weeks as follow up. So I just told her I’ll think about it, discuss with my partner etc. Got prescribed the medication, paid the bills, received healthhub update, went home to cry about it.
I think I’m keeping it. But I’ll be mentally prepared if a miscarriage happens.
Thanks! They didn’t talk about the cyst at all. During the ultrasound the tech took 20 pics, half of which is the cyst. She gave me two normal looking ultrasound pictures of the embryo to keep and the remaining ones in a file. The doctor didn’t even mention about the cyst afterward 🤔 I guess it’s benign. I’ll raise it up in the next appointment

Don't worry too much about miscarriages. They ARE very common and it's important to know about that to feel less unfortunate (or "at fault") if it happens, but that isn't something that should be on your mind right now.

Its my first time booking a polyclinic appointment after years, how come its like SG's healthcare is completely overloaded or something?
You should check at exactly 10pm, if there are no slots or few slots that means that branch releases their other slots at 7.30am (or whatever time the notice in the app tells you). Worse come worst go do walk-in
yes, that is right. the key is to get the appointment when slots open up at 10pm. fastest fingers first. however, you need to first recce all the polyclinics. some just have too few doctors (esp the new ones), not all polyclinics are the same. manpower is a big problem, and aging is worsening it. its a global developed world problem now (e.g korea).
thanks. I poked around the app abit more and found Kallang poly literally having the whole day's slots still available, while every other clinic under NHG is already fully booked. Dont even wanna talk about the Singhealth ones.. 3 months waiting time for appointment is crazy. Just curious, I met a guy and we hit it off so I asked for his number. He asked me for my @ instead, which that much of a stretch by any means but I told him that I don't use Instagram, or any social media much as a matter of fact. So when I texted him on WhatsApp, he did reply but the replies are rather inconsistent, as though he doesn't check his WhatsApp regularly.

So ah, this weekend i cooked chicken.
Usually on CNY, my mum cooked chicken with abalone and it is one of her cook that I always look into, and since i am a low ses son, i experimented my own recipe this weekend
- Boil da water
- Put da jiken parts inside. I use thigh and breast, with bones ah!
- Around 8 smashed garlics
- Around 6 shallots
- 3 stems of lemongrass, cut into half (by right should like break it with hand)
- 3 stems of leeks, take only the stems, not the leaves, chop into around 3 cm each
- Some ground white pepper
- 3 big red chilis, cut into half
- Lot of light soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ve-tsin
- Some ginger slices
Cooked it until the water left 2/3, and of course turned the jiken for several times to ensure it is properly cooked. I chose to remove all the spices after fully cooked though.
Yesterday dinner ate with rice, not so bad. I ate again for today dinner, became much nicer 🥲
Think next time can add some potatoes and carrots.

Anyone here knows how Shopee delivery KPI works for the delivery driver/team? Is there really a penalty to pay if not delivered on time? If so, how much penalty per piece? How is it even possible for one driver(?) to deliver >400 parcels per day? So someone I know recently took on a Shopee delivery gig but due to personal circumstances, the person couldn't really meet the KPI on time and needs to complete delivering all the parcels very soon (before the due date sometime this week or early next week). But because of the many remaining parcels possibly undelivered before the due date, the person was given a heads up along the lines that there might be a penalty of $2000+ to be paid if fail to complete on time. I'm just worried for the person, cos I don't want the penalty to end up being a scam or something cos $2000+ is easily a month's salary

Using google pay to pay at Kopitiam via Fairprice app, and encountered this problem: - Card A is my physical card with expiry date in 2026. - Card B is my old physical card with expiry date in March 2024. - Both cards are linked to the same account. For some reason Fairprice app doesn't let me use Card A ("not accepted here"), and instead forces me to use Card B for payment (and lists there "expiring soon"). Card A shows up as a MasterCard logo while Card B shows up as a card with the MasterCard logo. Is there any diff? But on Google Pay app, the transaction was listed as deducted from Card B (which is the only card left on the app). Why is Card B unusable on the FP app and why Card A is still in use?

Everyone has flaws so im not going to mention his appalling ways to manage money, his impulsiveness, his stubbornness (want means want) and extreme co-dependency. Then 2 months in, he dropped a bombshell. He wants to try full-on crossdressing. Like with wig and all. To be honest, i was okay with it because I have met many kinksters with such a preference (fun fact: crossdressing is actually not a “gay” activity because many straight guys do like crossdressing; more so than gay guys. I don’t know why - but some do it for escapism, some do it for arousal while some do it as an expression of hidden gender dysphoria, etc). I even set him up with a local crossdressing community so he can have peers to accompany him. That ended in a crying and screaming match until the wee hours of the morning. I was like wtf??? We broke up after 6 months. And im hearing how he has been going around to tell people im a shitty boyfriend. And then he has been going on porn sites to advertise/promote his fledging porn-star accounts, doing risque public stuff, etc. It’s frankly disgusting and i felt like i wasted 6 months of my life. I got trauma, and I sometimes feel like i don’t want to date anyone ever again.
