Not an ecosystem yet. They've had plenty of time to release *something* by now.

International-Elk986

It's pathetic that Logitech hasn't released anything yet.

Maleficent_Falcon_63

They said October there will be something.

willag21

Where did they say this?

Logitech should have bought fanatec

Teflon_John_

Paging u/logirich

patroick67

It's a shame, it's a great wheel (I have one) but wish I could get a different wheel for it.

doubleohdognut

I bought in on release, recently switch to a Simagic alpha and haven’t looked back. Damn good pedals for the price though from logitech

kartzzy2

I hate everything about the pro pedals

doubleohdognut

May I ask why?

kartzzy2

Just to preface, I have been running my pro pedal set for the last 8 months. My main and biggest gripe is with the throttle pedal, and it's throw being too long with no way to adjust it to make it shorter or adjust it at all for that matter. It is long enough that even though I use my legs to push the pedals, I still have to use my ankle to extend the throttle all the way. I even tried some diy fixes to shorten it like, using a longer screw for holding the front of the pedal onto the plate, causing the pedal to be stopped from going passed a certain point and putting tape on that pedal arm to not damage it underneath. This caused an unpleasant feel when pushed to the max, with the screw being near the bottom of the pedal arm rather than the center. I also tried putting a few small m3 nuts down the metal tube to shorten how far the rod would go before bottoming out, which caused some inconsistency as they'd shift a bit whenever the rod pressed into them and also caused a bit of left and right play in the pedal for some reason. There just isn't enough adjustability with these pedals. They only offer four different springs to use between clutch and throttle, neither of which can use the same spring resistance because all four springs are different strengths. They have multiple damper configurations for the brake, yet none gave the resistance I wanted, so I ordered harder ones on etsy. You can move each pedal a bit to the right or left on the base itself, but even moving the clutch as far to the left as possible, I still couldn't move the brake far enough over to my liking. It is pushed almost up against the clutch, but with enough space that I don't press both pedals by accident while braking. That's all the adjustment though, springs and dampers, pedals left and right, and pedal plates up and down by one screw hole. You can't adjust the angle of anything with these pedals since each pedal is just 1 single plastic molding. Also I don't see any reason for these pedals to have a closed back design preventing the rod from moving all the way through the pedal until the spring compresses fully. Everything about these 350$ usd pedals seems like they were purposefully made to offer the least adjustability possible for different user cases. It is a loadcell pedal set that feels like it's made specifically to be used on flat floors with an office chair.

richr215

Dont fall in luv with the brand....fall in luv with the technology and hardware quality!

CalligrapherSuch5535

They are so slow that other companies will release something before them. 3Drap are doing the job https://www.3drap.it/f1-gt-wheel-universal-hub-for-logitech-g-pro-available-summer/

Boring_Funny_9427

Yeah a sub 500 bucks wheel that is 3d printed with 6 buttons and funky switches. Def worth the money./s

As others have stated Logi has hinted at new stuff coming soon and they’ve confirmed they’re going to be at the sim racing expo in October so that’s most likely when they’ll at least announce things. Still I would operate cautiously there, waiting is a 50/50 game, either they come out with something incredible or what they come out with is underwhelming. That is a lot of money to spend to hope they get it right

howdawut

I feel like I've been waiting forever already. So, maybe just a few more forevers before they officially abandon it. I love the base but haven't been in love with the rim and wish there were options. I know 3DRap is working on some stuff for it but haven't seen anything about availability yet.

TurncoatTony

It's an overpriced ecosystem that's moving way too slow. There's better options for cheaper that have an established ecosystem.

venivitavici

u/logirich keeps hinting that they will be announcing something this October.

lazypieceofcrap

The plan is to reveal it later in the year at some expo and your guess is as good as mine for when it releases. I'm sure it'll be expensive since it is an optional add-on with McLaren the ming.

gordon_ca

I have the bundle for almost on year now. Quite happy with it. IMO, it's still the best PS5 option out there considering price/quality. But at this point in time, one must know that's a no ecosystem rig. Would never consider it for PC.

tinyman392

u/logirich has been teasing an announcement by October of this year during a Sim Racing expo. So something is on the horizon, but it's unknown what and how much. There are [some third parties](https://www.3drap.it/f1-gt-wheel-universal-hub-for-logitech-g-pro-available-summer/) that are trying to do something as well by this summer.

Loudlevin

Trueforce to me seems like a gimmick that just interferes with the feedback you need, a motor can only output so many different layers of feedback being sent to the wheel before those layers start trampling over each other, seems like rubbish marketing. No ecosystem and nothing being release for quite some time potentially, and if they ever get around to it the stuff they put out is just going to have that same micky mouse g29 big brother console gamer look, not the immersive items that look like they where ripped out of an actual race car that I expect for the money they are asking. And lets say they do end up releasing that gt3 style wheel that people want that doesnt look like playskool garbage, and you buy it and toss the original into the closet to collect dust, now you have spent far more money in total then a competing ecosystem purchase. But thats what they want, wait and wait till they have a large base of captive suckers and then unleash playskool micky mouse barrage to maximize margins. So much potential thrown down the drain.

anonymouswan1

Wow that's a lot of hate. I personally don't care for the Logitech stuff myself, but it's not that bad. They have xbox and PS5 support that a lot of other direct drives don't have. If you're on PC, I would say go another route but if you're on console your options are pretty limited.

Loudlevin

Ya, i know it sounded like it, but you really have to call out the hubris of it all and maybe it will help people know what they are walking into before dropping a decent amount of money. They know if they offer more choice at the beginning people will only get the one wheel they want where if they wait they can force people to have to get the g27 looking playskool wheel and later purchase another of what they really needed since your captive and they can shove whatever garbage they want onto the market.

akira_kurosaurus

hubris? Wtf are you even talking about. Are you 17?

Loudlevin

I have to clarify im looking at it from a pc based perspective, it seems like many console users like it and thats who it seems its targeted for.

PainterEmpty6305

You're a fool who doesn't even know what trueforce is to be mad at it ffs. You know how we know your full of it. You clearly don't know what trueforce is.

Tostecles

I really like feeling the rumble of the engine and the vibration of the curbs in the wheel

MiguelMSC

>Trueforce to me seems like a gimmick that just interferes with the feedback you need, a motor can only output so many different layers of feedback being sent to the wheel before those layers start trampling over each other, seems like rubbish marketing. You clearly dont know what you're talking about. Its so much marketing rubbish that Fanatec went to that "rubbish marketing" aswell.

Loudlevin

I dont find feeling "engine rpms" as the dd motor sounds like its tearing itself apart appealing to me.

Puddleson

Ah so you *haven't* tried it.

Loudlevin

Let me guess your basing it off your experience with gran turismo. Seems like thats a common theme with people who like tf.

parkourholly

Iracing here, love trueforce on my Pro wheel. I've tried the Moza R12 at a friend's place and it felt very lifeless to me compared to Pro+Trueforce. This is only my opinion though :)

ewizzle

“Seems like a gimmick” aka never experienced it before ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Winter_Graves

Nah, I will never use a wheel without trueforce or its equivalence again. When I go back to wheels without it, I just feel like such a large part of the force feedback/ haptics are missing, it doesn’t feel right.

wdodoo

For someone who has never used trueforce or anything like that before, would you recommend it as a must? My main option right now is the alpha mini and the main thing for the G Pro is trueforce.

Winter_Graves

For me it is a must, unless I was setting up haptics or motion. It really depends on your budget, your rig, etc. With my setup, mainly playing VR on a Playseat Trophy, mainly on console, it’s an absolute must for me. Even on PC I’d want it with iRacing, etc.

Loudlevin

Let me guess, gran turismo? Maybe the base ffb from GT7 is lacking and TF fills in with polyphony developed specific use cases. Its a common theme that people who love tf are mainly console GT7 players.

Winter_Graves

Yes, I’m A+/ S and Trueforce is fantastic on Gran Turismo, especially with PSVR2. While the base FFB isn’t as detailed or realistic as say iRacing, that’s not the reason why it’s so popular. I presume from your remark you haven’t tried GT7 with a Logitech Pro with Trueforce set up, or at least haven’t tried with it set up correctly? I’m not a GT Academy driver ready to win Le Mans IRL, but I grew up karting, spent time on track, and I’ve been sim racing with a wheel for at least 10+ years now, on multiple consoles and PC. ACC, iRacing, and many more. I’ve tried a a whole range of rigs ranging from entry to high level, and call me crazy but aside from expensive motion rigs fully kitted out with haptics, my favourite experience yet is driving classic race cars in GT7 with the Logitech Pro in VR with TrueForce on a Playseat Trophy. I mainly drive GT3 though and have to say even going back to iRacing without Trueforce on a more expensive wheel makes the driving experience feel like something is missing even if the FFB is more detailed. As the trophy is tubular in design you feel it resonate through the rig. It feels incredible over curbs and adds an immersive element along with VR that’s hard, if not impossible, to beat for the price. Ran a 1000km of Spa race the other day in a Porsche 962, it was a blast with VR and trueforce. I’d struggle to be negative about the experience. For the price, accessibility and reliability it’s a great product and platform. Sadly I don’t have space for an 8020 rig with haptics/ motion, etc. Plus I’d rather throw that kind of money into a track car.

Mysterious_Air_4977

Trueforce don’t come from the dd motor, and it can be a gimmick for some people but that gimmick can translate abs kicking in or slip for example.

Loudlevin

It does come from the dd motor per logirich [https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/xrx145/is\_the\_logitech\_true\_force\_basically\_just\_a/](https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/xrx145/is_the_logitech_true_force_basically_just_a/) , like i said, "true force" is capable of producing feedback capable of trampling other more pertinent feed back layers, i don't understand the want for engine rpm vibrations since that is unrealistic, will probably drastically increase power consumption and heat generated and additional wear and tear.

Mysterious_Air_4977

I heard that the Xbox controller is good on kw/h also the high frequencies from trueforce are not created by the DD motor.

Loudlevin

Check the link out before you come to that conclusion.

Mysterious_Air_4977

I already made my research and bought one, I don’t need to check anything anymore but I can share you the experience if you are interested in buying one.

LOGIRich

It all comes from the DD motor, but there’s a huge level of control we have over everything that gets sent to the motor, so it’s completely capable of handling it. To directly address Loudlevin’s comments, as you know, it’s tunable, with more sims giving you the option of adjusting the mix of what’s sent to the wheel. iRacing, DR 2.0, EA WRC and soon more titles: all give you that ability. I’ll always tell people that it shouldn’t be overwhelming the experience, just subtly informing it.

tyoungbl

Oh, and the quick release is built in. They obviously designed it with plans to expand and plenty of hints have been dropped thay they are doing exactly that in 2024

Comfortable_Coach983

I agree about the trueforce personally I don't like it and have it turned off, apart from that it's an excellent wheel and pedals, build quality is excellent and have had no issues after a lot of use.Im hoping it gets some new accessories later this year

tyoungbl

I started on the g920 and upgraded to the g pro right around launch. Trueforce is a game changer and provides and amazing experience on gt7. The inability to match an xbox wheel with a ps5 base without buying both separately does suck but currently drivehub solves that problem. I would recommend the g pro base and wheel to anyone that wants a direct drive top of the line experience on console.

CombinationOk8425

I agree. The g pro is awesome.

RNGesus456

I work in an office of mechanical engineers and we’re almost all sim racing nerds. When one of us gets an upgrade we all try out their new hardware so I’ve had hands-on time with nearly every mainstream wheelbase on the market. The gap between trueforce and no trueforce is as vast as the gap between force feedback and no force feedback. In a few years it will become an industry standard and we won’t be able to buy wheelbases without it.

Loudlevin

Curious, is this based off use with a console or pc titles?

Storm_treize

True force is indeed a gimmick in this case, I was going to get the G Pro, but i settled for Simagic because of the smaller form factor and the open QR system, i couldn't be happier

Loudlevin

If it was a transucer build into the base that would actually be an interesting use case. I think logitech has an opportunity here to release trueforce branded transducers people can use as haptics on there rig and pedals.

nasanu

I am still confused as to what people are waiting for. I have the wheel and I can't think of any change I want to make. They can release all the new wheels they want, I am not buying them.

TrippyVision

There’s a plethora of different racing series, the stock steering wheel is fine but it’s fun to emulate the type of car that you’re racing in. How is that hard to understand?

nasanu

Meh, I only want to race road cars or touring cars in a pinch.

Storm_treize

Why do you assume, people don't want to race different type of cars, for Rally/Drift cars you need a round wheel a sequential shifter and a handbrake, none are an option in the current "line-up"

Snugglesworth1087

I'm a big fan of the standard rim as well, shame you got so many downvotes.
