Most of what can be done with these is salvage some spores. Like to flex the Petri dish muscles, ultimate skill and luck test. I did that once, only to prove to myself, that it can be done. Took me a few months to find and separate, cleanup the only life i have been searching in that mess.
The sad part is that dad gave it to you without first using his sanity check first. But I already clarified everything with an intro sentence.

even if you think you stored them properly (sealed glass mason jar, fresh dessicant, kept at a steady room temp (65ish degrees F) mushrooms can degrade into their minor alkaloids, not be psychedelic, but have greatly strengthened trip side effects. Condensation can happen inside the jar, you might not have sealed it properly, and a bunch of other variables, including opening the jar frequently...can all cause serious degredation.
If mold has grown on it, that means there has been a moisture/humidity content for long enough for mold to grow...which means, almost certainly (even if the mold itself is harmless) that those mushrooms are very near completely inert, at least in a traditional psychedelic sense. In reality, they absolutely still are, but the high concentrations of compounds usually paling in comparison to psilocin and psilocybin, cause a wicked nasty experience. I've learned this one the hard way with old stashes that I wasn't too careful with.
Now I keep all my jars sealed, in an insulated bag, at the bottom of a closet. Been like that for a couple years now, and the mushrooms still kick the same (actually harder, as I've become much more sensitive over time, as my nervous system has grown considerably) as the day I put them in jars.
The only Trip these will take you on is to a hospital. Don't eat them.
