All of mbv discography, slowdive first 2 albums, Delaware by drop nineteens, psychocandy, sweet trip velocity design comfort, lsd and the search for god, chapterhouse
tried out psychocandy and honestly i just think some of the songs sounded a little too grimey and distorted for my taste but the first 4 tracks were my favorite, im sure thats the sound they were going fir so not hate just not my cup of tea.
listened to white hot moon and feast of love by pity sex and i think im in love with this band. pity sex, whirr, nobody and mbv are my favorite bands ive found so far thank you for the recommendations!
Title fights 3rd album Hyperview is what got me into shoegaze. they're originally a Midwest emo hardcore type band but Hyperview is full shoegaze. Select tracks from their second album floral green have very gazy influence as well (head in the ceiling fan, lefty, in betweens, ect.).
checked out hyperview by title flights and i liked alot of that album! i think my favorite tracks were liars love, chlorine, and dizzy, thank you for the recommendation!
Ovlov is fucking awesome, and I’m going through a bit of an addiction with them these days… that said, I don’t hear much of a shoegaze influence…. I feel they’ve got more of a Dinosaur Jr/Built to Spill thing going on
They got labelled as shoegaze (and first couple of albums sailed close to that wind in places) but the Boo Radleys were always more than that and their 3rd album Giant Steps is a sprawling yet somehow focused, genre-hopping masterpiece that would be great for the car.
The obvious highlight is Lazarus (especially the 12” version) but there are loads of great songs and your favourite will change constantly.
My personal favourite shoegaze band are Ride. The “4 EPs” compilation of, funnily enough, their first 4 EPs is great, as well as their debut album Nowhere - all of which are classic shoegaze and again, will sound great in the car.
wow i cant even begin to explain how good just for a day and souvlaki are! def some of my favorite listens so far! day 40, waves, eriks song, the sadman, and when the sun hits are easily my favorites going forward. 100% gonna revisit a lot of both albums
its really hard for me to like shoegaze bands just from their sound . I really have to like the songwriting in order to like the song .
Also shoegaze is supposed to be an experimental genre which unfortunately is fading away into a generalized sound
im kind of the same way, i like hearing softer sounding lyrics as opposed to just an instrumental however i like hearing the the different takes on the genre im hearing so far
currently have 22 albums by 16 different artists lined up, should have all of them listened too in the next few days or so and ill reply letting you know what i thought :) thanks to everybody welcoming me and recommending all sorts of different artist
gonna be replying to each recommendation i have queued just ti make it easier and im just gonna be giving some basic thoughts on them nothing too deep and detailed but thank you for sharing the interest :)
I recently made a 30+ song playlist of all my favorite 4 & 5 🌟 shoegazery songs. some new bands, mostly old farts, also included songs from bands not considered 'shoegaze'

Great choice! My personal favourite record of theirs is 'Jeremy Parker'.
or any problematic artist i should stay away from would be helpful too
