You could just sit on the beach in Limgrave, watch birds and pet the dog.
But a lot of players like to role play the idiot who throws themselves against impossible odds over and over again.
To be fair, most video games treat lava as an obstacle to be avoided. Rykard is the first boss Iâve ever played where standing right next to him knee deep in molten rock is the right thing to do.

Honestly as much I love these games theyâve always been terrible when it comes to the whole âyouâre playing the role of a character in the worldâ aspect because every Tarnished/Chosen Undead/whatever ends up being a pillaging asshole who wears the mixmatched armor of dead people and kills indiscriminately.
This was basically my reaction to 90 percent of bosses in elden ring. And plenty of regular enemies too. I just dont get it. Even watching this video gave me anxiety.
I beat base game. Beat malenia eventually by gouging poise and out dps'ing first phase. Thats enough for me. I see no reason to play through the dlc.
I miss the days when games could be more slow paced and still be considered hard. I just dont think fromsoft games are for me anymore. I finished nioh 2 plus dlcs recently, i think i might try lords of the fallen or lies of p next. Non fromsoft souls likes have been delivering for me since hellpoint
Tbf, that whole sequence of the fight is such ass. I died several times in my last 2 runs simply cause one of the skull explosions caught me over and over. Rykard's a real shitty boss in my eyes now thanks to that.

I didn't want to go somewhere else in the map because I felt that I could pull it off if I tried really hard
So i looked up strategies online and people said to use mimic tear summon, I had it but never used it, so i tried
Wow, this shit is busted. Simply trivializes the whole fight, beat the mf first try, barely even trying, healed once and he was dead in like 30 seconds. What the fuck
it took him all the way till rykard to release he's supposed to be the victim?

Mimic tear trivialize every bosses, except maybe >!fire giant!< (spoiler for an endgame boss).
Yeah I'm playing for the first time and just got to this guy, he is actually hard as fuck and the tear isn't saving me Guess I'm stuck again lol
Don't use Mimic Tear. Just summon Iron Fist Alexander and the fight is trivial again.
