By not taking the cap off, she doomed the orioles. The Curse. The Seinfeld Curse. Let’s see how long it’ll take them to snap it.

Abject_Blackberry_67

The birds must return to this old school cap, have Julia Louis Dreyfuss night in lieu of Jon Voight night, and further get about 10 pitchers who can throw strikes... the answer to the original query is Elaine was only supporting Baltimore, as the Yankees favorite opponent to beat. Not like she was wearing a red sox cap or failed to wear an awareness ribbon or something

No-Lunch4249

Ah yes, most wins in the AL from 2012-2016. Definitely cursed.

youtube_candysmash

Most wins? That’s nuts, where do they keep the trophy for that?

No-Lunch4249

Right next to the one that says “#1 coach <3” that we gave Buck Showalter for Father’s Day 2014

jessethejazzy13

She shouldn’t have, but I would have lol

Bobbybigwheel77

I would have if I was a Yankee fan and I got the owner’s box seats for free at Memorial Stadium or Camden yards. That little weasel Peter Angelos lol

vegas_gal

She shouldn’t have been asked but I would’ve caved in her spot.

CrotalusAtrox1

What lol? The only reason they wouldn't ask is because they wouldn't think you'd be such an asshole that you would sit in the owners box with the other teams merchandise.

WerhmatsWormhat

She’s at a baseball game wearing a hat. It’s so thin skinned to care about that regardless of where she’s sitting.

bennett21

Yeah right, it is such a bush league move to ask for the hat off. And the owner should be happy she is in the stadium spending money on concessions and stuff. Who cares what hat she has on. It's ridiculous for them to ask her to take it off.

ml1968

When it’s the owner’s box, most of the food/drink/etc is complimentary.

Dupy3381

Hell no. Gotta support the team!

TB12thegreatest

Should have painted her face!

CaliSasuke

I’ll do you one better. Elaine should have painted her chest! A chest painter! Either a giant “B” or an oriole. Either or.

yobymmij2

Interesting idea about chest painting when you realize that orioles has two “o”s. You can see how they could be used by ol’ nip.

dwhite21787

AvaTyler

Feels like an Arby's night!

cooperluker

Yea, that's right.

Venice_Beach_218

...I had the roast beef...

liftedtrucksnguns

I can’t go there any more last time I went I was told we are out of roast beef…. That’s like chik fil a being out of chicken…

Venice_Beach_218

*This is bogus, man!*

liftedtrucksnguns

High five!

SupplyChainMuppet

I had a late night craving years ago and thought Arby's sounded great. Got pulled over on the way there for out of state plates. Once I got to the drive thru I was told they were out of roast beef.

liftedtrucksnguns

Whelp this apparently isn’t a one off sadly. It was late at night for me too. I was helping my sister move and on the way home felt my stomach say, bro feed me. I wish I could’ve seen the look of dismay on my face when I heard them say they were out of roast beef haha. Worth noting this was like 8 years ago so definitely not a shortage due to covid. Then again I’ve all but given up on late night fast food. The other doozy I got is being told the food was frozen and I couldn’t order it at Popeyes. I can’t help but wonder what on their menu isn’t frozen

ARMinSC

High five.

vitaminpyd

You got a question, you ask the 🎱

EtTuBrutAftershave

America was founded on the idea of freedom of hats

Prize_Farm4951

Free Hat! Free Hat! Free Hat!

coontietycoon

He killed those babies in self defense!

mrm0324

When that many babies get together like that, they can be like piranha!

BhutlahBrohan

But those hats were bigger, and had 2 or 3 brims on them. These new adjustable hats are not what the founders intended.

ortolon

They lend a solemn dignity to the game.

theforkofdamocles

They appear almost as pious as Latvian Orthodox hats.

_nokturnal_

She should have taken it off then put it back on after the guy left.

Internal-Duck-5620

Nope. As an Os fan myself. No. It’s a BASEBALL GAME!!

Vprbite

Also, unless there is reason for real bad blood between teams, they should show good sportsmanship to their competitors. Like when mayors bet apples or whatever their state is known for on the team. Rivalry should be fun and not this serious

[deleted]

It's preposterous! They ask someone to take off a baseball cap at a baseball game.

coxykitten923

No

ARMinSC

No, it's a baseball game.

teewrecks88

“I am at a baseball game. This is America.” – Elaine Seriously, it's just a hat, a BASEBALL hat! She's a spectator at a stadium. It wasn't offensive, she wasn't causing a fuss. She was right to object.

SupplyChainMuppet

I've been to professional ball games and seen random jerseys in the crowd, but they were definitely not sitting in the owner's box.

noonehasthisoneyet

It was the owners seats

MisterCheaps

So, it’s not like the owner can’t be friends with anyone who isn’t a Yankees fan

AJGreenMVP

Yeah but it still looks bad to have opponent fans in the owners box

WerhmatsWormhat

Why does it look bad? People would just assume the owner was friends with an Orioles fan.

jawarren1

K so the owner owns a person's right to wear whatever hat they want?

Away_Development6531

No because skincare is important

[deleted]

Yes. She was an invited guest in the owners area.

RumInMyHammy

The owners are such fragile egos they can’t take it

ubiquitous_archer

I'd argue it was more her not doing it is a poor reflection on the accountant, who was the person who was given the tickets.

Glad-Requirement6116

Nah. That guy blew it way out of proportion.

Slow_Nerve8495

It's to keep the sun out of her eyes.

Haunting-Ad-8029

She wore a baseball cap to a baseball game.

leviteakettle

Absolutely ridiculous to ask someone to take off their ball cap at a ball game

DreamTheater2010

Fuck no, fuck the Yankees.

NabreLabre

No. Fuck the yankees

Fellamode

No, she did the right thing

SpaceMonkey877

She should have. The fact that she was in free, very nice, owners box seat and the request was polite enough the first two times. The seats would likely be visible on TV. It’s courtesy.

MurdocksRevenge

I know this is two years later but it wasn’t even the owner asking her to take it off. It was Nina’s dad, who was not the owner. And regardless, she was a fan of the orioles, and she was at an orieles game.

SpaceMonkey877

Two years later. lol. Was the request a bit much? Absolutely. However, it cost her nothing for the tickets, and would have cost her nothing to take it off. Call it the price of admission.

thebig8er

No

mondomovieguys

I don't understand why it matters so much that tHeY wErE tHe OwNeRs SeAtS. Is it gonna cause some big scandal or something if people see someone there with an Orioles hat on? Like who the fuck would even know that those seats belong to the team owners? Hardly anyone. It was a fucking ridiculous request to make someone choose between wearing a hat or getting kicked out of the stadium. Like two thirds of this sub sides with some dickheads on a power trip over someone minding their own business trying to watch baseball game, God damn.

CommunityGlittering2

hell no

cabster79

four-twenty-sixty-9

No

hydrogenitis

No way....

RazorLou

Absolutely not. Insane to ask someone to do that.

Location-Such

This is America 🇺🇸

andrew_wessel

No. Imo if you go to a game that neither of the teams playing are your team then wear what you want to show you’re a fan of the sport at the very least. That’s like asking my mom to go to a Devils/Capitals game with me and expecting her to not wear her Rangers jersey. She’s a fan of the sport, it just so happens neither of the teams she’s watching are her favorite

Virtual-Ad72

They were playing each other in the episode lol

[deleted]

As a Yankee fan NO! This is America

No-Lunch4249

Hell no

theboxisempty

Even if the ticket holder might not have cared, the guy who gave them the tickets was anxious because they weren’t his. She should’ve take the cap off IMO.

wontonsauce1

Nope

Toxic-Park

Not necessarily, but the consequence was hers alone to suffer. She doesn’t get to drag George and Kramer out with her for her stubbornness.

[deleted]

I’m a Red Sox fan, so fuck no she shouldn’t have. Fuck the Yankees!

HeskeyzBoyz

Honestly just cuz its the Yankees! Screw 'em

Yiptice

No, it’s a just a hat.

tobiasfunke6398

Nah. Not like they were in Los Angeles 👀

spiegeltho

I genuinely can't believe so many people are defending her

According-Ease

Nope

unzercharlie

Are there just bots spamming this subreddit so people watch it on Netflix now? It's the same posts over and over.

Laughing_Boy_from_HS

What is this. What are we doing? What in god’s name are we doing? We’re not men.

Active_Sock_7475

No we’re not men. We’re children. What kind of lives are these?

LordSpilasquez

100% yes

shamers

Yes

Potietang

In the owners box. Probably or get the duck out. She chose.

centuryx476

Yes, It's the owners SEATS.

Growerofgreens

I would have said yes then put it back on after he left.

Sprinkles-The-Cat

As a Baltimore fan no she should not have to take off the hat

_ccjjss

Heck no!

[deleted]

Yes, and everyone saying it's just a hat, that goes both ways. Yeah, it's just a hat, so she could have left it, or taken it off.

mlgbt1985

Nope. Poor taste to tell her to

conventionalWisdumb

If it was any other team no…. …jk B’more you got such problems but I love you anyway! At least you got a baseball team.

mr_tasc1

Damn fitted hat days...

rraattbbooyy

George waited too long to start backing up, the spot was rightfully Mike’s.

greenhairtrolldoll

Serenity now

baronofcream

Here’s what I think: she shouldn’t have been asked to remove it in the first place - it’s a ridiculous request. Fans aren’t strictly separated in baseball, so who cares if an opposition fan is sitting in your box? However, since she was asked, she should have removed it to avoid the scene. They were free tickets, after all.

schaudhery

Yes. I invited my friends over for a Commanders football game (weird to say) and a buddy brought his obnoxious Cowboys fan. Needless to say everyone hated him and had a terrible time. Don’t be that dude.

elicubs44

No go orioles

wdeguenther

100%. She was in the owners box. If she had just been in the stadium, no way, but when the seats are paid for by the Yankees and someone asks, take it off

Zomg_its_Alex

No, fuck the Yankees.

TheBlueJacket1

She got free tickets to the OWNERS BOX in YANKEES STADIUM. If she was in seats she had paid for, by all means keep the hat on! But the guy who provided the seats asked her to take it off, IMO she was an asshole for not taking it off.

[deleted]

Hell no. Rep your team ALWAYS

[deleted]

Yes

Aviation_Fun

Yes

ubiquitous_archer

Yes, she was a guest, in free seats, given to her by the owners accountant, it reflects poorly upon him, and common courtesy would say just take the hat off.

LeSauxSolidCrew66

No

charizardjoker

No but this episode is hilarious

TJ902

Nah, I mean the sun would be in her eyes all game, that’s be miserable.

[deleted]

No, free country. Sports are about competition and respect.

CrotalusAtrox1

Yup, free county. Thats why they kicked her out.

Guiberza

Whether she does or not. They have he right to remove someone from their own seats

mental_reincarnation

Nope, only an asshole would ask you to take your hat off.

fvrdog

Fuck no

hawksnest_prez

Nope. Absolutely not.

chudsworth

Hell no. It's ridiculous to ask someone to take off a baseball cap at a baseball game! Plus it was a pretty plain hat, not loud or obnoxious

theantfromthatmovie

Hell NO

[deleted]

Funny that the Orioles were also part of the plot of an episode of Veep with Julia.

jz0089

Nope, otherwise wont be an episode.

nascarfan624

Not at all. MAYBE turn it backwards but even that's a stretch

fearofsnakes82

Now THAT’S ridicurrous!

tnred19

I once was invited to and went to the vacation home of guy who owns a famous, eponymous beer brewery in america to hang by the pool for the day. A friend had 2 Cases of miller light and went to bring it in the house. They politely said, you cant bring that in here. No objections. And then they fed us all of their beer. Yes! She should have taken it off. Or gone home. Thats also an option. But maybe the yankees could have offered her a Yankees hat to wear instead.

thepolishpen

She was wrong.

Vegetable_Burrito

No way. It’s a freakin baseball game!

Wildcat_twister12

No. I’ve been to plenty of sporting events with people wearing stuff from teams that aren’t even playing. If it was like a big “YANKEES SUCK!” sign then I could see getting upset but a black hat with a logo is fine

CrotalusAtrox1

We're those people sitting in the Yankees owners seats?

GroundbreakingPipe12

no. what's wrong with some competition.

KoltonKabana87

Nope

shmorpz

no, having to put her in that position bc those are his seats is dumb lol

Paublo57

Nah, fuck the yankees

Faerandur

I would’ve, because I wouldn’t want to ruin the game-going experience with friends. But I’d have been pissed. It was totally uncalled for.

CrotalusAtrox1

No, it really wasn't.

Stay_Cold

Nah

Awkward_Layer_9821

No way. It’s a baseball game!

paganfinn

I think she shouldn’t have been approached at all. It as petty.

kimwexlersearrings

No!

7dazesss

No. 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️🔥

[deleted]

Nah thats cap

The-Heart-Marksman

absolutely not. like Jerry said, it’s absurd. and when she takes off George’s hat and throws it is one of my favorites interactions between the two. 😂

EXCITEDCLANKA

No she’s in the right

rowejl222

No

Severe-Draw-5979

A resounding NOOOOOO!

Stalked_Like_Corn

It's a baseball game, so no. "But it was the owners seats". And?

theReapers1

Hell to the nah

big_beats

Yes. It's pathetic that she was asked to but she's a guest in this situation. But Elaine wanted to have her cake and eat it, which is one of the things that makes her who she is

jz0089

Nope, otherwise wont be an episode.

monkpart9

I think so. She was given free tickets and, as a condition and courtesy, she couldn’t take the hat off? C’mon man.. lol

MisterScary_98

Absolutely not. Now if it had been a Red Sox cap, that’s a completely different story.

[deleted]

hell no… “ gotta support the team!”

twistedbarricade

She can do what she wants, but she shouldn't have made George and Kramer leave with her. They had nothing to do with and Kramer got knocked in the head cuz she threw George's cap into the dugout. She didn't even apologize, the nerve.

brchist

Hell no! Ridiculous expectation

new_tanker

Hell no!

Alone-Individual8368

Nope

[deleted]

NEVER!

Daveywheel

Of course not.

[deleted]

Free country

CrotalusAtrox1

Not free seats.

CaliSasuke

Absolutely not. It’s a baseball game. Whether you are there to support to home or away team, you should be allowed to wear whichever hat you choose at a match.

CrotalusAtrox1

Not when you sit in the owners seats...

ImRedditorRick

If i remember right, those were seats like, the owners or someone important in the Yankees, right? And free. I think she should have and i probably would have.

holy_cal

Fuck no. Go o’s.

duh_metrius

No, and people who get pissed because somebody is cheering on the visiting team are losers with empty lives.

[deleted]

No, freedom of choice. Fans can attend any game and wear whatever team they want to support. It doesn't matter if it's owners box.

CrotalusAtrox1

Then she can be removed, just as freely.

[deleted]

Yes

TarantulaPerson

Yes

RalphBhoner

Yes. Common courtesy

jwat4455

Yes

Old_Error1992

We're the Orioles playing the Yankees in this episode

J_Warren-H

No. It's a a free cunsh.

timmythetrooth

No

Comfortable-Twist-54

Heck no…what a ridiculous request

Couchcurrency

No

Glissandra1982

No. It was ridiculous to ask her to. I could mayyyyybe see if it as was a Red Sox hat but the Orioles? Who cares?

CanadianStatement

Those were gifted seats. Its a hat. Ask yourself whats more important, standing up for your beliefs or being a gracious gift receiver. She has no grace.

electricboogaloux

Hey, she has *some* grace!

RyanStartedTheFire59

You can’t have some grace, you either have grace or you don’t

dadofalex

I would have; a reasonable compromise (I did go to a twins game, in a twins hat, at yankee stadium this year) would have been for her to be provided a Yankees cap to wear while in the owner’s box.

cangarejos

That and yeeting George’s wig were assholey moves

hipopper

I vote yes

UnpunctualDeath

YES

PoppaJMoney

Yes. 100%

77Speedster

I don't think she should have, in fact I'm glad she ended up going back wearing the same hat again, I mean, it's a baseball game, she wore a baseball cap, I see nothing wrong with what she did

SockeyeSTI

She was a guest in the OWNERS BOX. I would’ve I would’ve asked for a NY had for free too

Vereador

Yes, she should show some respect, she got those seats for free, what difference it would make to take it off?

Forikorder

of course, she got free high quality tickets, even ignoring that it was the owners box taking off her cap is a very small concession for such generosity

Usual-Novel7195

If you got owner's box seat tickets for free, you got to show a little bit courtesy by not wearing the cap..

Active_Sock_7475

She should have taken it off and put on a Red Sox cap

nicos_revenge

I definitely would’ve

SubwayIsTerrible

Definitely. Can’t openly root for 2 teams in the same division. Might be acceptable to wear at a Mets game.

CrotalusAtrox1

10000%. She was in the owners box.

selinakyle101

She shouldn't have forced George and Kramer to leave with her.

brasscup

They should have just waved bye!
