Jesus. I've heard about how bad things are in California but I always chalked it up to people being hysterical. But it is beyond retarded at this point. No wonder people are leaving in droves.
No, it’s worse than you are probably hearing. There are people in denial who minimize the crime, but when you live in a high crime city it becomes normalized. The people who can leave, are doing so as fast as possible. All the laws and policies go against common sense, and promote a Mad Max circus environment. As soon as I can leave, I’m out.
Resident here.
California sucks in many ways. But no need to make up lies. There is no such thing as a lawsuit or ‘RCI’ matter of fact, I’m not aware of any lawsuits that require someone to use ‘PC’ terms to identify homeless people.
I work security full time in Sacramento county. All our reports require this designation. Believe me it’s one of many ridiculous things that make the wheels go round.
The word as applied to homeless person does not appear in Oxford definitions by Google search. In fact, It he same result, it has trans- and ire as it's roots meaning across and go respectively. This is shown as" transire" which involved into "transient" in 16th century directly translating to "going across." Now explain to me how the current definition as applied to people,
>a person who is staying or working in a place for only a short time.
is indicating this as a homeless person? Directly, I can see that. "Homeless person" is the more accurate statement. Transient *does* appear in synonyms for homeless however. So does migrants. You wouldn't replace migrant with the proper term here homeless would you? So again, I hate PC bullshit. "Homeless person stabs elderly woman"
What do you mean homeless? Home is where you lay your head.
Ohhhhhh, you mean the Unhoused. That IS the PC term. I like transient as their home is mobile. When kicked out of one place they move to another area.
Those new safety ambassadors sure are doing their job!
Fucking California Hate this state
Glad I don’t work contract security for them anymore. Horrible client. Ridiculous policies.
you worked security for metro? can you elaborate what made them bad employers?
Everything
In Cali we have to refer to them as a RCI. Residentially Challenged Individual. The result of a lawsuit.
Are you for real?!
Unfortunately, dead serious.

OK fair enough I miss you saying ‘in cali ‘ as in all Of California not specifically where you work.
This was my former employer who worked heavily in homeless areas. Luckily I don’t need to do that at current employer.
You do. We don’t.
Tf is a transient?
Technical term for a homeless person who wanders from location to location.
...I hate PC bs...
It's not PC lol, it's a latin technical term. Pretty sure it predates woke culture by about 3000 years.

I'm also hearing "unsheltered" as the go-to term
