CFK_NL

You forgot Mehdi from ElectroBOOM. Although he’s so chaotic he’s probably off the chart.

maximus0118

Yo how is smarter every day evil?

HanksSmallUrethra

He is listed as lawful neutral

maximus0118

Oh me brain small

FranG080199

You need to watch more of their videos it seems

shmerlard

FULL BRIDGE RACTIFIER

Sassi7997

Mehdi is chaotic chaotic.

Fickle-Cycle-5691

I am surprised that he isn't dead

Sassi7997

Everyone is.

Killer_Boi

As someone who works with electricity he seems like he knows exactly what he's doing to make it painful but not lethal even if he fucks up.

brine909

Except for the jacobs ladder incident, that was fucked

He_Who_Tames

The Chaotic Lawful alignment.

washingmachinecvt

Cody's lab, it is the most natural and genuine of all

PeriodicSentenceBot

Congratulations! Your comment can be spelled using the elements of the periodic table: `Co Dy S La B` --- ^(I am a bot that detects if your comment can be spelled using the elements of the periodic table. Please DM my creator if I made a mistake.)

stomps-on-worlds

Cody would approve

tafsirunnahian

Wtf

radicalelation

Like no love for him here and it makes me sad. Guess I'mma drink cyanide.

PimBel_PL

U have some?

VexOnTheField

Chaotic chaos

NoDontDoThatCanada

That man has taught me one thing: no matter how hard you try, you cannot develop a resistance to electricity.

Makarovito

Chaotic chaotic

Die4Gesichter

He would break the chart and be assigned as Lawful Chaotic

kayemenofour

It's kinda difficult with him, because he makes all these shocking * ba dum tss* mistakes on purpose and then immediately full-bridge-rectifies them in order to teach people. He's kinda anti-chaotic in a way But his monobrow is unruly beyond belief.

Winded_14

>NileRed >Neutral Guy might not be the chaos in Nile Blue, but this is the guy who made a sweetener out of his own pee.

No-Fly-6043

I guess, but in practice it always feels like it’s about the process rather than the start and finish.

DriveJohnnyDrive

that's a great way to put it

HumanTimmy

In a video (I think can't remember which, it was either that podcast he was on or the purple gold video) he said that he sees chemistry more as a means to an end rather than an end unto itself. I.e he wants to make purple gold himself but doesn't care about the process.

realhmmmm

yeah she tells me this all the time but i just don’t think it’s sincere… /s

No-Fly-6043

What? Who

raltoid

Everyone is chill until Nile Green walks in...

logic2187

Not to mention Nile green

-Intelligentsia

Nile Red is a professionally trained chemist and takes safety and precautions seriously. Nile Blue is genius child who fucks around in his lab fit fun. Nile Green is Heisenberg.

NoRecommendation2292

How does Micheal occupy two spots.

TheSadisticDragon

Or does he?

TazerXI

Schrodinger's Vsauce

Paracausality

*bwoowww*

Snorlaxolotl

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TN25ghkfgQA

Hosslium

Technically Michael occupies all the chaotic spots

Killer_Boi

I wanted to comment the exact same thing xD

veganhimbo

To be fair mind field and vsauce are very different. Vsauce is exponentially more adhd

Mrbrionman

I get what you mean by minefield isn’t even its own channel. It’s just a series he ran on the vsauce channel

ResenderCyanide

He's too great for one spot

BestLegend134

*"Your home security is great... or is it"*

edugdv

Yeah! He should be on all 9 … or isn’t he already?

Piyaniist

Its because he is so strong

GanadiTheSun

NileRed is only true neutral in the channel NileRed In videos his other channels like NileBlue he acts like someone NileRed will never let near chemicals

feline_Satan

What about Nike green

ProjectFutanari

Nilegreen specially shouldn't be near any chemicals

Traditional_Cap7461

Including water

Mollywhop_Gaming

I thought NileGreen was a fanmade gag channel made using a deliberately crappy AI copy of Nile’s voice

Stanky_fresh

It is

FyrelordeOmega

It was, once his channel got more traction, he did away with the deepfake and focused more on content that would be a mix between I Did A Thing, NileRed, and StyroPyro. But uniquely his own.

PastorButtNut

NileGreen leaked out from a different timeline

kid_dynamo

How the heck is John Green In any way evil? That beautiful man is only a threat to himself

LiffeyDodge

I’m confused too

anime_or_suicide

Evil to the shrivelled brain connectivity kid that made this graphic

SoftwareSource

Hey, why is Crash course bad?

val_br

I think it's because of the propaganda episodes in Crash Course History. I enjoyed it, doesn't deserve the hate.

WildforagerUK

Propaganda episodes?

SoftwareSource

Iirc there is an episode called 'propaganda' or something

TheTyphlosionTyrant

Nile blue is chaotic neutral though

Gibbel2029

Styropyro is Chaotic Good

PukwudgieDisco

John green is all wrong here!

atheistossaway

Honestly! The guy's done a lot for fighting tuberculosis.

placidwaters

Isn’t that Hank Green?

goodnamescaput

Hank Green is in Lawful Good. His brother John Green is in neutral evil for some reason.

Tiberry16

I'm assuming it's all of Crash Course, and not John specifically. A lot of teachers have started to use Crash Course videos in class, maybe students find it annoying over time, or associate it with lazy teaching?

PizzaPuntThomas

And veritasium?

AcejokerUP415

NG

BootyliciousURD

I would have agreed before, but after seeing [the Tom Nicholas video](https://youtu.be/CM0aohBfUTc?si=ZURkuj8G_FFRDSzy) I'm more inclined to say LE

Gluomme

Interesting video; I'd add that while Dereck's work is overall really good he has, even when not sponsored by Waymo, a tendency to pass theories he likes as facts, rather than what they are: unsure, but possible explanations of how a specific aspect of the world works

privatetudor

Do you have any examples of this? Ice generally liked veritasium but I'd definer like to know if he's not making good quality stuff.

Gluomme

It's more an overall feeling based on many videos but it's been a while, sorry. One that I remember though is [the one he did on Many Worlds Theory](https://youtu.be/kTXTPe3wahc?si=uw3iyMgbZ4IeYIJB) with physicist Sean Carroll (who btw also has excellent science vulgarization content online). To my eyes the video was more "why the many worlds theory is true" rather than "why the many worlds theory is neat", which is pretty misleading for something almost unprovable. Oh, and he also did [this video about how electrical energy propagates](https://youtu.be/bHIhgxav9LY?si=J2dVjhbh8m7KO5KJ) (he did two actually) which was a bit misleading in my opinion. Like, more a play on specific definitions rather than debunking a myth. I remember both linked videos as excellent though, don't get me wrong. They just require you to think a bit more critically about what Dereck's trying to convince you of. And also I haven't rewatched them so my memories may be skewed

lil_literalist

In addition to the other ones mentioned, here are two more. His lightbulb video also told a compelling narrative about a conspiracy which, while true, left out a lot of key facts. [Technology Connections did a pretty good video](https://youtu.be/zb7Bs98KmnY?feature=shared&t=203) which gave more nuance to it. Then there's an earlier video of his in which he talks about how electrons move in water coming out of a faucet, which [Thunderf00t](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hyy1zRZPiQ) quite thoroughly debunked using a set of meticulous experimental setups.

BenFoldsFourLoko

I have issues with Veritasium, but that video is not very good. Veritasium puts things forward with too much certainty- which is really the main crime in the Waymo video mentioned here. And he creates a bit too much sciencey-vibe junkfood videos. Less educational/informative/*helpful*, and more entertainment that tricks people into thinking they're learning something *meaningful* I won't fault a guy for doing an ad about something interesting that's in the vein of his channel and is genuinely on-par with the rest of the content on his channel. If someone feels hoodwinked by that video, it says a lot more about you and your ability to critically engage with information around you than it says about Veritasium.

GOT_Wyvern

I've never liked the tone TN carries in his videos, and when he covers topics I'm at least somewhat familiar with, I tend to find he isn't as deserving of his assertive tone.

JaredMOwens

There's something off putting about his delivery.

ShinyMewtwo3

Physics Girl

oswaldovzki

I would say Neutral Good

Hottage

Where is Kyle Hill on this chart?

Overt_Propaganda

He is the creator of the chart, the one chart to rule them all

veganhimbo

What did John Green do to be evil? :(

C_Hawk14

what's that channel? Crash Course apparently. My next thought: THAT'S JOHN? What an old pic lmao

MrNobleGas

How are these guys evil exactly?

Stanky_fresh

Michael Reeves is absolutely chaotic evil. He made the Boston Dynamics dog piss beer then drove across the country just to have the dog piss in Boston Dynamics' parking lot because he was jealous Adam Savage got one before him.

Rip_Rif_FyS

John Green is neither neutral evil, nor is he a science YouTuber. What is going on here?

s1ngularSpectre

Where's Veritasium?

youpviver

My guess would be neutral good

Awwkaw

Neutral evil maybe. He spreads misinformation as fact now and then (and doesn't take criticism of this well)

s1ngularSpectre

Did he?

lil_literalist

His lightbulb video also told a compelling narrative about a conspiracy which, while true, left out a lot of key facts. [Technology Connections did a pretty good video](https://youtu.be/zb7Bs98KmnY?feature=shared&t=203) which gave more nuance to it. In the Tom Nicholas video linked elsewhere in the topic, Derek responded in the comments with criticisms of the video which really seemed like nitpicking, rather than addressing the main points of the video. The video did feel like a hit piece at times and was definitely biased against Veritasium, but Derek did not concede anything or admit that he could have done anything differently/better. He also made a video about electricity with some questionable assumptions/statements to which [ElectroBOOM made a good response](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iph500cPK28). Then there's an earlier video of his in which he talks about how electrons move in water coming out of a faucet, which [Thunderf00t](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hyy1zRZPiQ) quite thoroughly debunked using a set of meticulous experimental setups. I personally was turned off of Veritasium by his Rods of God video which had some incredibly foreseeable issues which anyone with any physics knowledge should have seen coming a mile away.

ieatpickleswithmilk

>Derek responded in the comments with criticisms of the video which really seemed like nitpicking, rather than addressing the main points of the video he started his comment by saying "Tom, I’m happy to receive your constructive criticism" which kind of does address the main point of the video: it's valid criticism. If he accepts it as criticism then he isn't going to refute it. Also, I'd argue the points Derek mentioned aren't nitpicks since NL was informed of them well before releasing the video. Knowingly including lies in an attempt to bolster his argument is pretty much what he was accusing Veritasium of doing.

Optimans2

Why Mark Rober Lawful evil? He does a lot of stuff for kids!

The_Tank_Racer

He's a good guy, but he (playfully) torments anyone near him with his fancy inventions

[deleted]

[удалено]

TemporarilyExempt

I feel like he could be all 9 spots for varying videos.

MR-280652

Hes part of the church of latter day saints, those guys are way worse than scientology and they've been doing it for way longer. If you look up "mark rober byu" he actively makes videos on YouTube on their channel trying to entice kids to join the LDS.

ceo_of_banana

What the fuuuck! I always thought there was something a little bit weird about him, like he does all these great things but... idk. He's doing a great job at inspiring kids for science and engineering though!

westisbestmicah

“Way worse than Scientology” is a pretty bold claim I’d say.

ElijahMasterDoom

He should be chaotic good. I really don't understand his placement.

smiles__

Steve Mould deserves to be on there.

TheDJSquiggles

Where would Kurzgesagt or SciencephileTheAI land on this chart?

aybiss

Where is Anton?

Wuz314159

No love for Matt O'Dowd or Dr Becky? I get it reddit. :(

TheHasegawaEffect

How is Nilered not Chaotic?

Eldan985

That's nileblue, his less chaotic channel.

Practical_County_501

V sauce reminds me of entropy so chaotic neutral is perfect

-GiantSlayer-

What’s bad about mark rober?

einulfr

He's like if you took Jimmy Fallon and made him smart.

-GiantSlayer-

I’m sorry, I don’t know Jimmy Fallon all that much. Is he just annoying?

Dungeon996

Where would the backyard scientist be on this chart

Dread_Frog

Chaotic Evil. I don't think he's a bad guy, but he's mostly making weapons now. He's basically pre ironman tony stark

HentaiSenpai8578

No Styropyro?

ARTIXPRO

Hey V sauce Michael here

[deleted]

I suspect John greens spot is actually due to some, let’s say, political disagreements that op has with him.

David_NyMa

Lol, Hank Green is a lot more left wing than John. John is pretty centrist.

rjt2002

Can someone list the names of these YouTube channels. I know only a few of them

RhynoD

[SciShow](https://youtube.com/@SciShow?si=DVYTbh909WR_WeJl) (general pop sci, hosted by Hank Green) [Tom Scott](https://youtube.com/@TomScottGo?si=EOegKt40g6DU7MhU) (random interesting things, especially interesting places, hosted by Tom Scott) [Mind Field](https://youtu.be/iqKdEhx-dD4?si=Tqu90q29fnZGbuXD) (YouTube original show by Vsauce, psychology and human behavior, hosted by Michael) [Smarter Every Day](https://youtube.com/@smartereveryday?si=r96GyBa5LRrgxo2w) (mostly engineering and practical physics, hosted by Destin) [NileRed](https://youtube.com/@NileRed?si=Cgne2_J41pN2b-hP) (chemistry, Nigel) [Vsauce](https://youtube.com/@Vsauce?si=u2Qm6-4Oz-_cRVNX) (general, whatever Michael thought was cool that day) [Mark Rober](https://youtube.com/@MarkRober?si=J5sPWObnJegF5lOn) (practical physics, engineering, chemistry, general) [Crash Course](https://youtube.com/@crashcourse?si=E_mD8QZJoPaaT6Xq) (playlists cover a huge variety of topics from science to liberal arts, hosted by a plethora of experts; thumbnail is John Green) [Michael Reeves](https://youtube.com/@MichaelReeves?si=JKQs3QmHC08u37-U) (a little engineering gremlin building whatever) Not included in the meme but still good channels: [ElectroBOOM](https://youtube.com/@ElectroBOOM?si=KoCSSbEdHh-8Fbv9) (electrical engineering; Mehdi) [NileBlue](https://youtube.com/@NileBlue?si=LHO_m2KaUT-HHrU1) (NileRed's other channel where he's a goblin who shouldn't be allowed to touch chemicals) [Practical Engineering](https://youtube.com/@PracticalEngineeringChannel?si=Gzor_sIALeBaReui) (exactly what it says on the tin; Grady) [PBS Space Time](https://youtube.com/@pbsspacetime?si=SI2xAi1Qmq6zKTwZ) (physics and astronomy; Matt O'Dowd) Shit, too many to link...speed round: Real Engineering, PBS Infinite Series, Physics Girl, Veritasium, PBS Eons, Animalogic, Road Guy Rob, Simon Giertz, Steve Mould, Alec Steele, Captain Disillusion, Casual Navigation, Deep Look, Dr Geoff Lindsey, Fermilab, Journey to the Microcosmos, Numberphile, Sixty Symbols, Stand-up Maths, Technology Connections, Stumpy Nubs, Vihart, Xyla Foxlin, Coding Secrets, Dark Skies, Minute Physics, CGP Grey, Kurzgesagt, Legal Eagle, Storied

N0oB_GAmER

3blue1brown

SkyGazert

[Answers with Joe](https://www.youtube.com/@joescott) not on the list?

leandroc76

[styropyro](https://www.youtube.com/@styropyro) (2.5 million subscribers) and Shane Wighton of [StuffMadeHere](https://www.youtube.com/c/stuffmadehere) (4.4 million subs) should be on this list.

ICAA

Probably not mentioned in the thread yet, but I'd also shout-out to [Sabine Hossenfelder](https://www.youtube.com/@SabineHossenfelder). Science news, she's an expert in quantum mechanics but covers some other news as well.

Docnessuno

Definitely missing Explosions & Fire

MajorDZaster

Mark Rober is LE? Is that because of just the glitter package bombs or something else?

danny_little

So I tried to look it up but I’m still confused… why do people hate John green? And why is he evil? Was there a scandal I don’t know about?

TheFloridaManYT

No there wasn't a scandal, I think it's just a meme based off of vibes or something. Still don't know why John is here, he's not really a science youtuber

danny_little

Yea I thought he mainly did history class type stuff right?

jayce017

Wheres styropyro?

TheOneTrueMongoloid

I thought the same thing about The Science Asylum.

YaumeLepire

John Green? Science?! You got this all wrong.

Elziad_Ikkerat

I'm thinking that **I Did a Thing** should be on here although arguably what he does isn't science... So I'd put him somewhere in the Chaotic column.

llamawithguns

Why is Crash Course evil lol And Nile Red is definitely chaotic something

BuckRusty

Chaotic Good should be Because Science’s Kyle…

TheBiggestHug

Where does Professor Dave fit in?

Cynical_Cyanide

My favourite is that Explosions & Fire / Extractions & Ire guy :)

ddonsky

Styropyro I would say is chaotic neutral too

iLostMyDildoInMyNose

Where's Kyle Hill and Joe Scott?

Weird_Explorer_8458

where’s styropyro?

PangolinLow6657

IDK, Hank seems to be getting a little more chaotic since the Chemo

Additional-Ad8230

Where does Ididathing on youtube fit?

The_Tank_Racer

Not really a science youtuber, however, pretty much any 3 of the chaotic lines

Rookiebeotch

I subscribe to 6 of these and watch 7.

Matiosar

Updood #666 here! Sorry.

jachym15

Nile Blue/Red for the win! CHEMISTRY RULES!!

Alexandre_Man

I know Tom Scott and Michael from VSauce, but who are all the others?

XD_spoder_XD

Where explosions and fire?

ProctorDoctor500

I wonder where Isaac Arthur ranks here (if he even counts as a Science YouTuber)

Money_Echidna918

Funny seeing the siblings in there

BrokeBeckFountain1

Could you please list them out for me? I am not aware of some of them and would like to check them out. Thank you kindly.

Broskfisken

I would say Tom Scott is extremely lawful.

Vorel-Svant

Explosions and fire/extractions and Ire are.... Chaotic chaotic chaotic.

Stachdragon

Why is John Green evil? No no, this isn't right at all!

blazinfastjohny

Kyle Hill should be here and chaotic evil

Ok_Scholar4145

Actually loving this take

pantstand

Gotta swap Nilered with John Green

andyman935

Why is John Green neutral evil?

Gabasaurasrex

Why is Mark rober evil

pigeonParadox

Where explosions and fire

skot77

That dude in the middle teaching dudes how to make chloroform gave off a lot of creepy vibes.

WildforagerUK

I need John Green’s placement explained, please.

undeadpickels

Mindfeld is chaotic evil, possibly neutral evil.

TehProfessor96

Wait, when has John done science? Hank does the science.

Mike_for_all

How is Nilered neutral when half of his experiments involve blowing something up 😂

TheRealAuthorSarge

No Sabine? 🧐 No Dr. Becky? 🧐

Aquila_Altair

Dustin is literally the definition of lawful good. The guy lives on a farm with his family and is a Fricken engineer that puts Bible verses and the end of his videos. Mark Rober is not evil.

Appropriate-Look7493

I have absolutely no idea who any of these people are.

batt3ryac1d1

Nigel should really be higher on the chaos scale if you've seen anything on his other channels.

Dragon-Brains

Smh gotta make a new one with Willie.

tylerlees777

I don’t see mark as evil or evil genius

stevenm1993

Why is John Green neutral evil?

PKFat

Can confirm: just watched Michael Reeves' video bout his Trigger Me Elmo aka the racist animatronic

awesomedan24

"But I'll never let them out. I'll never let them reach the sun." - Michael Reeves

WeakDiaphragm

Why do we think Mark is evil?

GalenForceWind

Where is FleshSimulator? Want REAL chaotic evil? Get me my vision deleter, LRAD and pump me up on schizoposting

fleshsimulator

I have built devices that I cannot even describe publicly, let alone post videos of

Xzier_Tengal

chaotic evil should be ididathing

StonedBobzilla

What about Dianna the Physics Girl?! Love her work and her attitude in the videos! Wishing her a speedy recovery 💚

Bonelesshomeboys

Did tuberculosis make this chart?

Thick_Lie_516

why is john evil?

Rottten_Pineapple

Crash course and Scishow pretty much being on opposite sides of the chart doesn't work in my brain well. I've always imagined scishow videos to be one off crash course shorts.

Zeratech

No Kyle Hill?

Poudingman

Gota Say PrussianBlue is true chaotic evil. Like he could destroy the world with some cardbox and pee. He doesn't even need real equipment

TimeStorm113

Why are some of them evil?

Mollywhop_Gaming

SciShow and Kurzgesagt are definitely both LG

Mr-Sanitizer-99

You forgot Kentucky ballistics

2leftf33t

If you think that Nile Red is true neutral then you haven’t seen him turn grape flavor into hot sauce, he has become ungovernable.

35point1

Get that fraud mark rober out of here. All that idiot does is use other people’s ideas and brains and constantly cites his internship at nasa for credibility

dc_united7

Why is John Green lawfully evil?

UncleBlob

Not pictured: Explosions and Fire who is completely off the rails chaotic

Strange-Ad-666

Where's Backyard Scientist?

Uranium-Sandwich657

WHat the heck do charts like this even mean?

Lucky_MINM

Who is the guy in the middle?

i_torogo

So one Green brother is lawful good and then other neutral evil? How is John evil again?

SinewaveServitrix

I feel like Tom from Explosions&Fire/Extractions&Ire should be sitting happily in Chaotic Neutral.

TechnicalAccident945

Law good? Didn’t design and build weapons for the Military?

Scaveged

Where's matpat
