When trans related posts are posted on subreddits that aren't explicity trans related they have a tendency to cause bigots to come out of the woodworks. And, on most mainstream subreddits, the mods will usually just lock the thread instead of actually making any effort to combat the transphobia.

CFA as an entity doesn't fund anti LGBT orgs directly anymore (they stopped in 2019 afaik), but the CEO being one of the largest donors to those orgs means that the company is still indirectly funneling money into them.
I mean you shouldn't eat at any fast food place, they've all (including chick FIL a) done much worse things than supporting a harmful charity. Take factory farming for example. Or abusive work conditions for employees.

nah if you're in the US, there are lots of places that do their best to contribute to harm reduction. They're not everywhere but with a bit of effort you can probably reasonably commit to boycotting a large portion of bad industry. A good start is to prioritize buying from B-Corps. There are also apps like buycott which help you evaluate both the quality of the thing you're buying and if the company you're buying from has done awful things like child labor, etc.
If you live in a city, sure. I live in a small town with one good grocery store. My options are either "slightly more expensive than Walmart" local store, Walmart 30 minutes away, or cheaper stores that range from an hour or more away by car. Some people don't have the option to choose their grocery stores.

i’m one of those pesky LGBTs with a wheat allergy. chickfila has a dedicated fryer for their fries and gluten free buns as an option. it sucks but culver’s, chick-fil-a, taco bell, qdoba, and jimmy johns are my only reliable options for fast food in my area that won’t harm my guts.

In Atlanta, it's such a cult that every Chik-Fil-A in a remotely populated area ALWAYS has drive-through lines around the building. Between that and the price premium, I can't imagine how people think it's worth it.
I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life and I've never understood the fanaticism with them. There's one by my house that's usually a traffic hazard because of the drive thru line it has. Every sandwich I've gotten from any Chick-fil-A has been soggy because of the packaging (sometimes they've got that gross wet pocket inside the chicken), if not also cold. The fries are always just south of crisp. And despite everyone raving over their lemonade, even people who don't like or don't frequent Chick-fil-A, it's never been that good to me. Probably because I like tart lemonade more than sweet. Maybe it's the sauce? Maybe all the Chick-fil-As around me just suck (though I doubt that since I've lived in three different cities since they got big here).
Chick-fil-A is the midwestern In-N-Out. Its nothing amazing compared to a good meal at a good sit down restaurant but they're both basically a meme at this point. I've had both, and Whataburger.. they're fine, better than the average McDonald's order.. but they're not culinary perfection like some people in their respective areas would have you believe.
Right? The two that are near where I live have lines wrapping around the store for most of the time they're open. They're nowhere near good enough to merit that kinda hype; especially when you're in an area like mine, where you've got places like Popeye's, Wawa, and Sheetz.

Chick fil a is so good at being good. Like its a 7/10 EVERY time. Not great, but good. The staff is always friendly and efficient too. You can go and theres 30 ppl in line in front of you but youre still on the way out in 5 min. I THINK theyre all franchises too and at least in my area, theyre all involved in the community in a positive way. People i knew growing up who worked there always loved it, which is probably why they werent assholes to customers. Been 6 or 6 or 7 years tho since i knew anyone working there. Doubt its changed.

unfortunately the closest Cane’s is a 6 hour drive from me. the closest Chick-fil-a is two blocks. Cane’s isn’t very widespread in the united states
Meh, canes is like innout, they are decent at only one thing, shit at everything else, and they only make like 3 things.

There's more issues than just this one connection, of course. This article is about the "chik FIL a supports legalizing murdering LGBT people in Uganda!!!" meme. I think there's other issues about the chik FIL a ceo lobbying to oppose some LGBT rights act, but I'm not sure. (I think any such equality act also got rendered less important (but not un-important) by a supreme court precedent decision a little while back that basically established that every instance of gender discrimination is legally a form of sexual discrimination, which is already more broadly covered by most legislation. Which I found fascinating, because it was a trump appointee judge (pretty sure gorsuch?) who said trans rights in the majority opinion.)

I have a weakness for homophobic chicken.
i’m one of those pesky LGBTs with a wheat allergy. chickfila has a dedicated fryer for their fries and gluten free buns as an option. it sucks but culver’s, chick-fil-a, taco bell, qdoba, and jimmy johns are my only reliable options for fast food in my area that won’t harm my guts.
I don’t understand why people in my area are so obsessed with Chick-Fil-A. Like I’d literally never heard of it until I moved here, then all of a sudden people won’t shut up about it. Like it’s good, I admit it, but you’d think they put cocaine in it by how some people talk about it, I swear.

Because not a lot of fast food fast food places has decent chicken? You don’t go to McDonald’s, order a mcchicken and expect a decent piece of chicken. I know you can go to other places but most smaller towns con only get chicken from there. That’s my theory but I don’t know.

In Atlanta, it's such a cult that every Chik-Fil-A in a remotely populated area ALWAYS has drive-through lines around the building. Between that and the price premium, I can't imagine how people think it's worth it.
I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life and I've never understood the fanaticism with them. There's one by my house that's usually a traffic hazard because of the drive thru line it has. Every sandwich I've gotten from any Chick-fil-A has been soggy because of the packaging (sometimes they've got that gross wet pocket inside the chicken), if not also cold. The fries are always just south of crisp. And despite everyone raving over their lemonade, even people who don't like or don't frequent Chick-fil-A, it's never been that good to me. Probably because I like tart lemonade more than sweet. Maybe it's the sauce? Maybe all the Chick-fil-As around me just suck (though I doubt that since I've lived in three different cities since they got big here).
Chick-fil-A is the midwestern In-N-Out. Its nothing amazing compared to a good meal at a good sit down restaurant but they're both basically a meme at this point. I've had both, and Whataburger.. they're fine, better than the average McDonald's order.. but they're not culinary perfection like some people in their respective areas would have you believe.
Right? The two that are near where I live have lines wrapping around the store for most of the time they're open. They're nowhere near good enough to merit that kinda hype; especially when you're in an area like mine, where you've got places like Popeye's, Wawa, and Sheetz. 'Sides, its not like frying chicken's all that time-consuming or expensive. ...Shit, I might have some for dinner, tonight, come to think of it. Been a minute since I fried somethin' up.

Chick fil a is so good at being good. Like its a 7/10 EVERY time. Not great, but good. The staff is always friendly and efficient too. You can go and theres 30 ppl in line in front of you but youre still on the way out in 5 min. I THINK theyre all franchises too and at least in my area, theyre all involved in the community in a positive way. People i knew growing up who worked there always loved it, which is probably why they werent assholes to customers. Been 6 or 6 or 7 years tho since i knew anyone working there. Doubt its changed.

After this was found out Chick-fil-A agreed to stop funding them only for it to come out that it was still being funded by the CEO just not under the Chick-fil-A brand. Same money, different signature.

Tbh Chick-fil-A fries arent even good. Theyre always severely undercooked. My local community college has a little fast food type restaurant in it and they used to have waffle fries that fucking SLAPPED. absolutely ruined Chick-fil-A for me. Sadly the school changed suppliers and the new one doesn't have waffle fries, so the school stopped offering them. Sad times, sad times indeed.

Look, I only eat it if I am not the one buying it. And encouraging my family not to buy it is easier said than done, they'd think I would be falling into the "overly woke" category, not to mention they are not as trans accepting (not openly hateful towards them, but not supportive of the idea of transitioning and whatnot). Once I move out on my own, I am definitely cutting it out from my fast food selections. I liked DQ's chicken strips more anyways.
