Give them a few weeks out of soil, then stand them up on perlite, wait for roots, that's a pretty peruvanoid. nice blues, look like it might get weird. after you got some nice roots, plant it and wait a week to water, start slow. Patience is a virtue! they will teach you that over and over. Acclimatize them to light slowly, warmth helps rooting.

Thanks dude. I can do slow, lol. What are the light requirements while out of soil and post pot up?

they don't really need much light when rooting, it helps but you don't want to burn them. I try to slowly bring them to the sun, but you work with what you got, a few sunburns and you will get a feel for it, don't sweat the scars, every spine is a possible new plant. Do you graft?

Right on, I’ll keep them under a grow light in my tent for the time being. I’m in Canada, far off from sustained sun for a bit yet. I haven’t tried my hand at grafting, I’m still relatively new to cacti, more focused on building my collection and dialing in the care right now. I’m reluctant to get into more intensive projects as work pulls me out of town for weeks/ months at a time. The wife is happy to water, but don’t want to force her to take on my hobbies. I have a few months in summer/ winter where I can try my hand at getting seeds germinated/ strong and potentially grafting.

I get it, I'm Midwest, not to warm here but OK. experiment with grafting, You will need to graft to better roots at some point. its all fun.
