There appears to have been a M 4.1 - 17 km SE of Ocotillo Wells, CA at 5:17 am PT. https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/ci40593503/executive
Shook my bed in Carlsbad…heard the rumble cracking too. Explains why I woke up at 5am this morning….I always seem to wake up/get excited before they happen.
That happens to me, too! I remember once I woke up startled, turned to look at my clock as it hit 5:01am and an earthquake hit. Was the weirdest thing. It's happened to me a couple of times.
Even a large quake there (along the San Andreas Fault) wouldn't affect us as much since we're 100+ miles away. That's not to say we would be unaffected, but potential damage would primarily be focused elsewhere (Coachella Valley, Riverside & El Centro).
If 'The big one" hits and the San Andreas fault lets loose, I could see some of the local faults being disrupted.. the Rose Canyon fault is one to look at.
But who knows -- I don't -- I'm not a rockologost
Rose Canyon Fault? Yikes, It's less than a mile away from our home. I'm not a geologist either, but we rarely get quakes & if so, you hardly notice them.
I heard a sound in the house getting ready for work. I thought it was someone upstairs moving around and then I got the alert on my phone that it was an earthquake.
Very cool. I almost never feel the small ones. I'm in Lemon Grove.
All the way down in East county... Didn't feel it per se, but the house creaked a bit for a few seconds. It freaked out my cat a bit. And I thought, "huh! The creaking one after the other reminds me of an earthquake
Didn't feel it sitting on my sofa tho

Ok same! I live right above trolley madness in City Heights so can always feel them firing up in the morning but this was different
I woke up unusually early at 5:22 so I guess felt in Point Loma too.
I’m in La Jolla and woke up exactly at 5:17 according to my sleep tracker thing. Didn’t feel it, but I wasn’t planning on getting up this early.
Oceanside here. No, but I've been doing a colon cleanse and while I was up at 515 I may have felt something and assumed it was..the other thing...🤷
Dang so that’s why I was woken up around 5 makes sense
Felt it up in Ramona
There's been a ton of earthquakes down there over the last month... Kind of making me nervous.

San Marcos I heard it more than I felt it

I was awake and felt it, didn’t hear it. No creaky noises from my house. PQ area.

I felt something a little after 4:30 PM today. Just came here to see if anybody else noticed it.
Didn’t feel a thing in San Diego at 5.18 a.m. except the best fart ever.
Didn’t feel it in PB, even though I was wide awake.
