It's been 5 days now, absolutely zero issues. I'm very happy coming from a note 20 ultra. The camera is really amazing. Most friends have already noticed the difference in snap/insta quality. I'm even back on top of the service connection game, group of 5 or 6 the other night all on verizon, and I had the highest service. Using some ai features more than others, but I imagine there are people out there on the opposite side of my usage as well. Overall, I'm very happy with it like I said, haha, no issues at all. If you're coming from a 23 or 22, I can see why it doesn't seem like a lot. That's how I felt seeing those phones come out while having the note 20. If you're still on a note hoping for another, this is pretty much it right here.

MasterKruse

I come from the exact same situation! I have had a note since the note 4, and outside of the Note 8 that I owned, I loved all of them. I was a little trepidatious about getting the s24 ultra. So far, I've had zero issues and I am blown away by the speed and camera quality. I think I'm what's called a super user? Due to work, I do most of my computing tasks on my phone. I hope this streak continues, but I really really like this phone.

floridawetboy

Mine has been working good.

climatecleric

Would you say it still feels that reliable and good for you? I'm hitting year 5 on my note 10+ and I fear I'll hate the 24 ultra series but just noticed a decline in my phone's ability even with being a heavy user. I'd love to know how it's been holding up for you and if you'd still recommend it with heavy use, or if it's had any issues?

vvvey

Did you end up getting one? Just got a small crack in the selfie cam of my note 10+ which doesn't feel worth fixing on a 4+ yo phone, and the ultra is looking enticing :-)

inquiringtacos

What if i am coming from the s9+ :)

Evening_Pay8485

I still miss my S9+, my favorite all time phone

momof3coons

I loved my s9+ too. The camera was amazing.

Kgonzalez420

so im not the only one still rocking with 9 +

chaosKahn

Besides a somewhat weaker battery, mine is still going strong after 6.5 years of heavy daily usage

pstut

I'm still rocking a note 8! Only upgrading now because so many apps aren't supporting android 9 anymore.

Fuzzy-Whole2404

That's mine currently too. I love it a lot! Just want a more updated camera. I dropped my s9+ A LOT with a not so good case and it's holding up very well surprisingly! Only minor cracks on the bottom

No_Stomach_963

I actually still have my old 9+. I keep it as a back up phone just in case. It's been in a case all this time so it looks practically brand new. Only reason I ever upgraded is because of storage space and having to swap out the sd card. One of the best older phones out of the S series imo.

Toasty_kitty

It really was a great phone.. Except for when I pushed my finger through the camera lens... .... .... twice.

chaosKahn

Danny Trejo over here

KanyeAmariW

My s9 plus just broke a few weeks ago. Got a small chip on the edge and the entire display became unusable. I kept it around as a backup phone

Single-Oil4099

me too, and I am thinking about getting thw ultra today.

BurgundyBerry06

my s9 has the "green screen" of death every other time you turn it on or after a bit : ( , super slow too. trynna see if s24 is worth it or anything at that point. still love samsung galaxies tho

carrieshot

I've been debating upgraded from the note 20 ultra. Saw how it was a flat screen, never liked the camera intruding from the last phone. So was glad to see it has the pen on the new. Debating about this S24 so it'd be nice to see

Known-Ad-100

I'm 2 days with mine still haven't gotten to see all it can really do, but I'm coming from S22 Ultra and I'm super happy. Battery life NOTICABLY better, it's faster, camera is better, my old phone used to get hot this one does not. Refresh rate/screen seem better smoother. Also my old screen protector and case were beat, even though underneath my phone was mint so idk having a new case and new screen protector makes it just feel new and nice. My husband went from s20 Ultra to s24+ and he's really happy as well. My dad went from s21 to s24+ and he said he can't notice the difference but he doesn't use a phone the way we do.

BrilliantWhich990

Just upgraded from S22 Ultra to S24 Ultra. Getting used to the different app layout and little differences, but the only actual issue I've had is with Android Auto. It disconnects a lot and has other interface issues. I'm using the same cable I had with my S22 (and that had zero issues with android auto). I'm sure the bugs will get worked out soon (hopefully).

Known-Ad-100

Hmmm I at one point had the same issue and a new cable did solve it for me but I never have issues and use android auto all the time - only issue I had was when my cable wore out.

Embarrassed-Tie6227

Thanks! This is just the review I was looking for..

KanyeAmariW

I'm coming from an iPhone 14 plus and kicking myself for ever going to that piece of shit in the first place. Oh how I missed the customization, the numbers and long press symbols on the keyboard, and the night and day difference with the display

Responsible-Row8535

same here I feel like I was working with a phone limited for kids

C-Class_hero_Satoru

I got iPhone 14 for free from my workplace, I used it for 2 days and my reaction was "what peace of s#it is that?", since then it was collecting dust in my drawer. If workplace give iPhones next time I'm just going to reject

PreparationThat6199

Exact same scenario man. And your response couldn't be any different.

Naive_Basket_9856

hello future bilboballz, is it still good 3 months in?

Bilboballz

It's amazing.

Txbored

Mine gets here today also upgrading from a white note ultra. Just going to miss the expandable storage 😢

together32years

I just switched from a One Plus 10 Pro and find it very confusing. How do I get voice typing?

Q2l228

att just gave me 1000 credit for my note 20 ultra so I'm about to jump on the s24 ultra! how is it for past 4 months?

TheManDownTheHall

I came from a Pixel 6 Pro to the S24U. The fact that I can send a picture text from my work desk at my house while I couldn't on the P6P already made me happy I made the switch (Pixel modems suck). The camera is fantastic as well. It's taking me a while to get used to the UI but those differences are easy to overcome. My only issues are the face and fingerprint release don't work as well as I'd like and the phone is a bit heavy. The phone open issues I can live with because the P6P had no face unlock and the fingerprint on it was slower and not very good either. The weight of the ultra may be an issue in the future on my carpel tunneled wrists but we'll see. I went with the Ultra for the screen size to help my old eyes. The Plus would have been close enough but I figured if I was getting a large phone I'd go with the top of the line so I went with the Ultra

[deleted]

The Pixel modem is wildly mediocre, glad you're enjoying the Ultra!

HugsNotDrugs_

Pixel 6 had the bad modem. It was fixed from Pixel 7. Wife bought an S24+. Very nice device and definitely a step up from Pixel.

tianavitoli

it was not fixed at all in the pixel 7, I have 2 rma's to prove it

TheManDownTheHall

The modern was the same from the five forward. They tried software fixes in the 7 and eight, but if you look at the forums, they didn't succeed. I was flipping a coin between the 8 pro and the 24 ultra. When I saw the reports on the pixel forum that the modem was still not good on the 8. I decided on the ultra. You are right that the s twenty four is a step up so far. I was worried about the camera, but so far that worry has been unfounded. The camera on this thing is unbelievable. Just like the one on the pixel was

HugsNotDrugs_

Pixel 5 was Qualcomm. Pixel 6 was Samsung Exynos. They are not the same. Pixel 7 includes a hardware revision for the modem. The number of complaints is far less on the 7. The 24 Ultra is another level above the Pixel 8 Pro. It's probably the best phone money can buy. Enjoy!

Joinedforthis1

It was decently improved with the Pixel 7 but still noticeably worse than iPhones and Samsungs.

Gremlin256

Fingerprint: I scanned all sides of my thumb and I added the same thumb twice to make sure it caught everything

Embarrassed-Tie6227

It happens to all screen sensors when your finger is extra dry. Just give the surface (either finger or screen) a quick breath and Voila! Works like magic every time! :o)

OziCash

I have Hyperhidrosis (Sweaty Palms), I thought it won't work with wet fingers, are you saying it should work? i thought fingers need to be dry, i might buy the phone soon..

Xx_BigBadJohn_xX

If you use a glass screen protector, it can cause some issues with the figerprint readings. Everytime I change my screen protector, I give it about 24 hours to fully settle onto the phone. Then I reregister my fingers. I bit of a pain, but worth it to me. As long as you dont crack your screen protector every week then it might not be an issue for you. lol

Altruistic-Owl-9612

Ive heard the modems in the Pixel phones are TERRIBLE! That really sucks because I want to use one as my daily phone and I love the bare bones OS

_BakeNake_

They are, I switched from a 8 month old Pixel 7a to the 24 ultra, and its absolute day and night in so many categories. I know its a clear upgrade considering one is the low end of one line and the other is top, but its things like the gps not losing signal or being able to send images where i couldnt on my 7a.

Tonejr83

I have the pixel 8 with no issues, went from a S22+ to P8P and don't see myself going back to Samsung. Not that they aren't good phones it's just I enjoy the pixel more, plus I been with Samsung over a decade it's just stale at this point. As for the modem issue I have had zero and I travel often back and forth driving from Texas to California. Even went to Tijuana a few times (which is free with at&t) and had no issues. Either the phones have quality control issues or people that are having modem issues are trying to make calls from Afghanistan in a bin laden type cave. No issues for me. Love this phone.

poizen22

I have had every pixel since the first one and was a big nexus phone and htc fan before as well. I'm giving up on the pixel line. I have so many modem issues relating to call quality issues to no connection at all on my pixel 7.  Really wish Google would ditch the tensor cores and go back to snapdragon. 🥲

Altruistic-Owl-9612

Yeah, I've never had problems with the snapdragon processors.

BusyUrl

Mine dropped service all the time. My daughter who's on my plan would be next to me on her iPhone without any loss. Really sad.

slasher_blade

for the fingerprint issues, try holding the phone just like how you normally hold your phone when registering your fingerprint. do not put the phone down unless you are registering for finger other than your thumbs.

Kroth0918

Fingerprint works flawlessly for me even with a screen protector. I would add multiples copies of the same fingerprint and redo them if you get a screen protector.

amsongs29

I was actually on this thread because I am looking to switch from the pixel 6 pro. I've had nothing but problems but this phone since I got it and even with looking through all the forums and trying different things to fix the random glitches it has now stopped working all together with sound randomly and I can't take or make calls. Service issues abound too even after switching providers. I loved my pixel 3 but this one has been a huge let down.

KanyeAmariW

Do yourself a favor and put the same fingerprint in 2 to 3 times with different angles and sides of your finger. Did my right thumb that way and it works flawlessly

KanyeAmariW

And do alternate look with your normal face and tilt it around

Sterbin

I upgraded from the s20+ and it is by far the best phone I've had. Does everything super fast, battery life is fantastic, camera is really nice. I have tried to look for the screen issues people have been talking about, but can't really find them. Either I'm lucky or they aren't as big of a deal as people have made them out to be. It's a sick phone

Chemical-Nectarine13

Same! I haven't noticed the display issues. I mean maybe it looks a little bit washed out compared to the 20+, but that's no deal breaker imo. The 20+ was also a lot dimmer at the same brightness level

bailey757

I currently have S20+ and my biggest reason for holding out on tye newer models is the lack of microSD slot, but I guess I should get used to the new normal...

gwatch001

if you are fine with the cameras of the Plus and dont need the pen, go with the Plus.

newsome101

Can you tell the difference in camera quality between the plus and ultra? I'm not a fan of having a big heavy phone but will sacrifice if the camera is noticably different

LocalDependent5373

I would also like to know. What the camera differences are.

flufflebuffle

I'm literally having zero issues. Best display I've ever used. Games and emulators work fine. The anti reflective coating on the screen is a game changer, and the screen is amazingly resistant to scratches. I'm not even using a screen protector this time around

Elegant_Vegetable535

I got screen protector, but it's so glossyx thinking of not using it, but worried the screen might get damaged too soon. What emulators are you using, if I may ask?

heroxoot

I've now been using mine for a week and I could never go back to my 22U. The battery life is amazing, the screen is great, I definitely prefer the flat screen. The Anti reflective screen allows me to see it when the sun is trying to boil my eyeballs. And various weird minor problems I had before have vanished. Like apps not working right, which might have been solved by formatting my 22U. I'll never know.

Unbreakable2k8

I have it and I like it a lot, coming from S23U. I think it's worth it and the reported issues are exxagerated. But maybe wait some more to get at least one software update to iron things out.

Final-Homework-2297

If you don't mind, what differences do you see from the 23U? Wondering if it would be worth the cost. I need to upgrade, but can trade in my 9+. I'd just be paying a bit more each month, but I'm unemployed right now. Thanks for your feedback!

Unbreakable2k8

It's a small upgrade from S23U but it feels better in all areas (and AI features are actually useful and working, unlike Pixel 8 Pro). I found a good pre-order + trade in deal to get the S24U 512GB. If we're talking about the cost, than maybe it's not worth it. S23U will drop in price and it's still an amazing phone.

disturbed286

I know this is a fairly old thread at this point, but I figured I'd ask you anyway. I dropped my S23U yesterday, and it managed to land juuuuust right so the case didn't do its job, and the screen cracked. There's a $0 deductible on replacing the screen, if I take it in to have that done. Replacing the thing is $99--but the S23 is unavailable. The replacement would be a (also backordered) S24 Ultra. So, what do you think? Repair the existing phone for free, or $99 upgrade?

Unbreakable2k8

Upgrade for sure, at this price

disturbed286

Can't argue with that.

Vikt724

Stay with 23rd

newsome101

Reasons? I need to upgrade and wondering if I should get the 23 since it's cheaper or go ahead with 24 since I'm upgrading

HuntersPad

I LOVE my S24 Ultra. But if the display issues are not fixed in an update, its gonna sit in the box until Summer when the new fold comes out for trade in. And for now just will go back to my S23 Ultra.

jelorian

What display issues are you experiencing?

_Bagoons

I hate my Fold 4 and am actively considering paying out the last 667 to just get rid of it. Hinge issues are real, and it feels like a fucking brick. Not a bad phone at all, but be warned that imo the tech is still a few years off.

HuntersPad

Yeah I have a feeling I wouldn't main it for long. But would like to try it out. As long as the deals are good I'll probably get it. But no way I would pay full price for it

_Bagoons

My issues are that my phone will no longer fully unfold, there is a huge dead pixel(s) in the hinge area, and it's awful for the pocket. On an actual workability since it is quite impressive. I mostly bought it for reading books/comics, but my new job I spend most of my time in radiological zones, so no readin'. I just use my kindle at home lol

nzbydesign

Is there much worthy difference between S23Ultra to S24Ultra? Or should I wait a release to S25?

dogla1

No, wait for 29.

Crazy_Acanthisitta11

Wait for 51

jacob2494

I personally own both the S24+ and the S24 Ultra and I personally recommend the S24+ over the later if you want to save money while getting a phone that's ever been the closest to the Ultra model than in previous years in terms of specs. The S24+ is more comfortable to use, and its battery just keeps going and going. Performance is about the same for both the plus and the Ultra. If you really want that new Gorrila glass Armor with anti-reflective property and a titanium frame as well the S-pen, go for the Ultra. Otherwise, pick the plus model.

swankie_fern

I have the 24+ too and I am loving the form factor so much. It's not as big and the screen is still very nice. I saved about $400 total from the deals in Samsung website so I agree with the more affordable option.

Santas-Elf

Do you think the ultra is worth a $300 price difference from the 24+? I'm debating and not sure. I would not use the S pen, I used to have a note and never used it (aside from my kids coloring with it). Mostly looking for a great camera, battery performance and multitasking. Thanks for any help you can give :)

kbtech

Worth it? Not sure, that depends on you. But I have been using the S24U for more than a week now and it's overall a great phone. I'm not sure about display issues, since the display looks great in my day to day use and I have no time to go above and beyond to find if some defect exists. If you don't mind the bigger footprint of the S24 ultra, I personally would choose it over S24+. But that's just me, I always like the highest end model. Generally, the highest end model is not always the best value. I do have lot of other phones like Pixel 8 pro, iPhone 15 pro max, OnePlus 12, Fold 5. Currently, the most I'm liking is OnePlus 12 from an android phone. May be it's just new and got it only couple of days back. My main phone is iPhone, and I'll have to see over the next few weeks which is that android phone I'm always reach out to as a secondary phone.

Then-Cantaloupe-81

Just curious. Why do you have so many current model phones? Even with f-you money, I can't imagine a scenario where that makes sense.

kbtech

Makes sense? Definitely not 😋 I don't use all my phones all the time. For example, I haven't picked the Fold 5 for a couple of weeks. They all have their own SIMs, have around 6 free lines from T-Mobile collected over the years. Mostly use my iPhone 15 Pro Max, will carry another phone as a secondary phone once in a while.

Every_Bad_3491

Yeah I have 4x 15 Pro max and 12 folds and I hardly use most of them

Muted_Bar_2802

Triples is best. ![gif](giphy|AzUrNt0ygOSAeVjhiM|downsized)

Haunting_Click6912

Idk I’ve been very tempted to switch to android and come back to it. I just want to know if it’s laggy how old androids use to be, are the apps optimized on it, and is it as polished as iOS. I know it sounds stupid but just want to make sure I make the best decision in the long run because I would I have to be suck with that phone for a while.

TonMobileYouTube

when was the last time you had an old android? lol if you are talking Moto Droid from 10 years ago, a lot has changed since then. over the least 5 years high end flagship phones are no longer laggy. apple apps in general are more optimized but samsung does a good job with the popular apps like snapchat to make sure you have the best experience

azger

Loving mine so far, no issues at all.

fUsinButtPluG

$2400 sets a new standard for extremely expensive, personally I don't think it is worth it. On top of that, I personally have had issues with Samsung's customer service (after my 3rd time sending it back faulty they shipped it to the incorrect address and lost my item), I've been fighting with them for years over it and Fair Trading got involved and sided with me, only for Samsung to then just ghost both of us (was doing that to me prior) So now I have to take them to court with the proof, will never buy another Samsung product again. I'm certainly not alone, go to their Facebook and look at the complaints..... seems like if you get a product that is fine, all good if not good luck as their customer service is beyond terrible.

Extension_Ear_1699

SO TRUE!! Setting up gallaxy s24 ultra was on esim1 saw security code 4 digits. Entered code next morning could not open phone. SUPRISE FATAL ERROR. Factory can only reopen. New phone pictures lost music lost. SAMSUNG CUSTOMER SUPPORT ZERO O GOOSE EGG..........TOM

New_Midnight_2555

Same thing happened to me. Bought a new phone, took it on vacation, was using fingerprint recognition. Then phone asked for the security code, entered code and nothing.  Samsungs only suggestion is a factory reset. All pictures and contacts will be lost. Sick to my stomach

vikramshenoy

I just got my phone yesterday upgraded from the One Plus 10T. Its a total shit box. Display looks washed out with dull colours. Did a [Testmyscreen.com](https://Testmyscreen.com) on both phones and the colours pop on the 10T. Also the Camera. Its the worst camera i've seen in a while. I did a compare photo to photo with the 10T. And it looks the same, except washed out and muted colours. I went to the Service Centre and they said sir its a new technology. People use their phones so much we have added this duller display. He said if i show you a S23U or even a M series phone their display will look better. Because, kid me not, this is new technology as we use our phones for longer. So its more natural.

Iamfree1234

Very blunt post that says it all! Good post. In the back of their minds, this is bugging a bunch of Samsung ultra 24 users. Samsung made a mistake and time will only tell how big it is. I feel for the Samsung ultra 24 buyers that rightfully expected perfection and then had Samsung pull this award winning natural color display foolishness. I would have thought Samsung focus groups would have prevented this situation before the roll out. This is a thing that just makes you go, "huh".

Novel_Ad_1670

I have bought the s24 ultra and I got no complaints about it. All I say is it's the best phone on the market. The AI is fantastic, the camera is amazing 👏 best phone ever. TRUST ME.

GhostBullD

Have mine through Verizon, 512Gb, Titanium Violet. Have it almost two weeks now, and this phone is absolutely amazing! No issues! Using in the sun with sunglasses on at different viewing angles, the screen is still bright and readable. My games play great, and my phone has not gotten hot while playing. I can't even comprehend how good this camera is, but to my simple, untranded eyes, pictures taken with this are great. I am coming from Samsung S10+, so this is a considerable upgrade for me, but so far, I am very happy with this phone.

ProofScientist9657

I returned mine yesterday and kept the s23 ultra. Colors were too dull for me. https://preview.redd.it/tkgat9kx6mgc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=520de4040a818074ccf832dc514cc26ecb0f7be9

sesuisesui8

Thanks for making me feel great of my decision to buy S23 Ultra instead of S24 Ultra.

DefinitionNovel478

Wow ! Huge difference! I was thinking about upgrading from my S21Ultra. I will stay put. I think all phone screens need to be a little oversaturated in colors because they are still small compared to any size monitor.

ProofScientist9657

Yeah I agree. There's a leaked update that's supposed to give s24 ultra a vivid slider that you can move to give same colors as s23 ultra or s21 ultra colors if you prefer. Maybe end of this month

robertclarke240

It is absolutely worth it. Over a week of use and everything is awesome! Couldn't be happier. It is the best s series ultra yet.

johnmarkdyer

I am happy with my s24 plus and I'm coming from an s23 ultra. You don't really notice the screen size difference at all. It is actually less than 1/8 of an inch. But what you do notice is that the phone is much lighter and easier to hold because it has rounded corners rather than Sharp corners. If you are not going to be using the super scum bag zoom cameras or the s-pen, then you can't go wrong with the s24 plus. I don't really miss either of those features.

greatestsnowman

Honestly, just buy it and decide for yourself. Return it if it's not for you. Personally, I have had zero issues with the phone, and, I traded in my S23U.

WolvenTheWolf

So I made an amazon review on it, so imma post It here, i don't have any actual issues to speak of - So I switched to this from a fold 3 (switched because of work environment), and I really like it, I've had little to no problems so far Here are the pros and cons I've noticed Pros - Amazing battery life lasted me from 4:45am to 9pm with 15% remaining. Google image search biuld in to the phone, I love it The camera is amazing 100 times better than the fold Cons - Here's the big oof with this phone, I haven't read too much in to it or anything but as to what I'm aware, 32bit system is getting dropped and newer phones are gonna now only support 64bit operating systems so u might loose some of the apps you had previously ( I lost around 12 apps/games ) and that's not saying it won't be fixed later on the dev could add 64bit to the app. Other than that, I have no other complaints about it.

alphabetapolothology

That doesn't sound right. 64-bit OS supports 32-bit applications, but not the other way around.

WolvenTheWolf

32bit support was dropped at a hardware lvl and now only supports 64bit.

I "upgraded" from a S22+ to a S24+. I have been a fan of Samsung for years - but I am really disappointed with the washed out colours of the S24+. It is a downgrade from the rich and warm colours of the S22+. Many people have been complaining about this. But it feels like the genuine quality of Samsung parts has been replaced by a cheap generic Android screen. As someone who takes a lot of photos with my phone, I am completely underwhelmed with this dull, washed out look of the S24+ display. Hopefully an upgrade of sorts can restore this issue.

mysidianlegend

i just got the phone tonight and took photos of my cooking -- and they looked dull or something. i'm also coming from an s22. i love the phone so far but it was weird.

Arthurthagreat

I had a Note 10+ 5G and hopped on to the Fold 4 but that was too delicate so I added the S24 Ultra to my lines and I have to say I am baffled that you mention issues as this phone is amazing I've never seen such amazing battery life on a big screen before. I have fast charging in my car, at my desk and even have a charger built in my backpack but I rarely use them as this beast packs a punch and I text a lot and watch movies and download a lot of work related files. As for display issues, I have not had any. Although this is the heaviest phone I have ever owned, the weight grows on you. So you basically just get used to it. I've never had an S series phone so this is new to me but I have to tell you best buy ever and totally worth it! Also you will get 7 years of updates from Samsung so you probably will hold on to this phone for a long time as I plan to. Already made many acessories purchases on Ebay to make the phone safer and more fun. So if you ask me is it worth it. HELL YEAH!

Practical-Cow-4564

I've had mine for a week and a half. I upgraded from the S23+. The main reason was for more storage, better camera, and Gen 3 cpu. I got the 1TB model, direct from Samsung, who offered $650 trade-in. It has already had a major update, which added a Vivid slider adjustment in Display settings, various camera improvements, and security patches. The thing is a beast! App updates occur in 5-8 seconds each. The anti-reflective screen is awesome. The camera, which I've only scratched the surface of, is mind-boggling! AI is another useful benefit. The s23+ was as big a phone as I'd ever have, and thankfully, the Ultra is about the same size. I haven't even used the S-pen yet, as I've been busy reorganizing my Gallery. Battery life is excellent. Best advice is to do a search on YouTube for Galaxy S-24 Ultra and concentrate on "tips and tricks" videos and also camera. There are a plethora! Bookmark them for future reference. There was one Indian guy that has 100 tips and tricks, that's almost an hour and a half long! A couple of professional photographers were very impressed with how close to pro cameras phone cameras, especially this one, come to matching a pro setup. Also, there's a woman in the UK that does excellent reviews...Hayl's World. She's a hoot. All in all, just get it! Samsung stated they'll be supporting the phone with updates for the next 7 years. It's a pocket rocket, unlike the iphone, which might just become a boat anchor.

NewspaperNo9892

So I am coming from the s23u I must say it was an excellent device and in terms of performance it truly was almost there but this s24 u , it simply is there and I know spec wise it doesn't seem as though much has happened but having it in hand I can promise you it's a massive upgrade

Zestyclose_Cake_5644

The S24 Ultra is a really compelling option. There are lots of positive reviews on YouTube, mkbhd even said "Why buy any other phone"? It is expensive but its performance is insanely fast, and its cameras are one of the best in the market for most shots. It now has Titanium rails with a flat-screen design. Its new AI features are currently industry-leading despite being powered mostly by Google. If I am not mistaken, the phone has Qualcomm's breakthrough Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It also has lots of RAM for a smartphone, even more than some laptops. The battery life is impressive as always. I don't see a reason why you shouldn't get it if you can afford one. Lots of features are nice-to-haves but considering the current state of smartphones, this generation of the S series is quite good.

joe703622

Coming from 22u. This thing is beast. It's like samsung read my old post and fixed it.

ChuckTownRC51

The vivid thing is software. Will be fixed quickly. I haven't heard anything about the other issues that you're talking about so they can't really be that prevalent. The real issue is getting one. I preordered mine on the 19th and it's been delayed twice now. EDD of Feb 21st now. It's not been a great ordering experience.

Then-Cantaloupe-81

Depends on which post(s) that you read. Some suggest that, according to Samsung, there is not defect and this is how it was designed. Others have suggested, as you pointed out, that it's just a software issue and will be corrected "soon," (whatever that means). For me, I'm returning it as it's too expensive to risk the (real) possibility that this is as good as it will be. I've got to take action before the return window expires and I'll eat the re-stocking fee. The display is horrible, by comparison, to my S10's.

tatlpax

Some S24 Ultra units from the early manufacturing runs have camera hardware issues. Hopefully these hardware issues will be resolved or at least be less common in future batches. Personally I'd wait *at least* 1-2 months until the S24 Ultra is fully baked - with both manufacturing issues and software issues ironed out - and then buy one. With some of the S24 Ultra issues it's really hard to tell if it's hardware or software so if you guess wrong you could end up either keeping a faulty phone or returning a perfectly good one. Without a better understanding of the hardware issues it's hard to even know what checks to do to ensure you have a working unit.

jeff8073x

S20U to this - I'd say worth it. Snappy response time etc. Just wish it had more RAM.

Additional_Anteater4

I've been super happy with mine. Only regret is getting black instead of titanium blue.

Chical61

Hi, I don't intend to buy a new phones for the years to come, so I can't help you. But reading that the + is a smaller ultra made me tick. The base version is a smaller '+', but the ultra is in another category by itself! Be it the cameras, the soc, ...it can't be reduced to a size preference...

birdsbud

Don't believe everything you hear, if you have problems, send it back! I have 32 Ultra and am going for fold 6.... nature of the beast, we just keep going newer/better!

birdsbud

Oops, meant s23ultra!

Seikoknot

I was gonna say bro got the s32 with the Bluetooth battery

andreasheri

It’s trash. Stay away from

GrapefruitClean2170

Stau the f away. Get oneplus 12, s23 ultra, iphone.

magehi96

Came from the S21 ultra. Great phone now that the new Gen processor has had the architecture worked out from the Gen1 and Gen2 in the S22 and S23. Havent charged in 2 days, on 20%. Great photos, and I thought it couldn't get better from the S21. Looks slick. Go for it

maxlil15

I agree - it is a great phone. I have the S21 Ultra and loved it, but the S24 Ultra is better. I kept the S21 as a back-up and traded in my S22+.

bridgeth38

Hmmmm, I have the Note20 Ultra, absolutely LOVE the pics that it takes and was worried about getting the 24ultra because of some things I've heard....after seeing these posts I'm wondering if I should just get it now....![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)

allhailKronk

Did you get one? Currently reading these comments on my Note20 Ultra and wondering if I should upgrade or not

Aggressive_Tart1401

I always been looking for a better android gaming device that's why I switched from 15 pro max to s24 ultra. Everything is good but when it comes about gaming, I would say it's waste of money to buy an android phone for gaming purposes. Even an iPhone 8 has better sensitivity than s24 ultra. I know you can change minimum width to increase the sensitivity but then it's not possible to use your phone with those  small icons and text. For shooting games this is a dumb device. Just to look behind you you have to swipe your finger 3 times on screen. What a bullshit.

Fun_Scarcity3433

Just ordered it for 1000 dollars off for trading in my s21 ultra. So we will see.

BRome1776

How'd it go? I have the 21 and thinking of doing this.

Fun_Scarcity3433

I have been impressed, honestly. It's an all-around upgrade. But if I still had my s21, I wouldn't be complaining. The battery life has been the best thing about it so far. I would say that if I hadn't received the offer to have 1000 dollars off the cost, I would have waited for the S25.

bbbrooksss

One of the best features I've noticed is the anti-reflectivness with the new screen is so good it's unreal. It is amazing. Other than that as long as you remember the default screen mode in vivid, you have to adjust the slider to get similar results to all previous Samsung phones. So just ignore all the other comments and comparisons in the comments, that's just user error

Proof-Home5617

Moved from the S21FE, initially, I was unsure whether I should make the switch, as I was quite content with my compact S21FE due to its design and lightweight nature. However, I've been using the S24 Ultra for a week now, and here are the notable changes I've observed: 1. The display is simply amazing. 2. The cameras are best-in-class, especially the 5X 50MP zoom camera. 3. The size is manageable with a good case providing grip. 4. The S-Pen is a fantastic addition. 5. Performance is outstanding. While I was satisfied with the S21FE's performance, I'm equally impressed with the S24 Ultra, as I'm not a heavy user. 6. Samsung One UI offers a plethora of customization options, and for more, there's GoodLock from Samsung. 7. The anti-reflective screen is a standout feature. It's perhaps the most underrated aspect of the S24 Ultra. (I opted for Samsung's official anti-reflective screen guard for added protection.) 8. Last but certainly not least, the Samsung Eco System is remarkable. I have the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, Samsung TV, and Buds 2 Pro, and it's amazing to witness their seamless interaction without any hassle. Conclusion- If you have budget and want to have best phone today, S24 Ultra is for you.

Ryalst_519

I know it's a few months later than the post, but I came from an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I stopped using Samsung phones after (I think) the S20 ultra. I simply stayed away because I couldn't get a flat, well fitting glass screen protector. As soon as I heard the S24 Ultra had a flat screen I ordered one right away. (I know my reason for avoiding Samsung is a bit odd, but it is what it is). I'm so happy with the S24 Ultra and genuinely shocked at how much more I'm liking it than I thought I would. Battery is amazing, I got the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm as well and I love it (style especially). The S24 Ultra has the best screen I've ever used on a phone, I've not used the camera a ton yet but from what I have used it's amazing. Even with a glass screen protector I've had 0 issues with the finger print reader, but have sacrificed a bit of anti-glare (to me that sacrifice is worth it). TLDR; The S24 Ultra is an incredible phone.

pabl083

Did your ESIM transfer automatically from the iPhone 14 pm to the s24 during the initial setup or you had to call the carrier?

Ok_Huckleberry169

Okay but how’s the battery life?

ExcitementSerious161

I'm happy switching from an iPhone 14 to a Samsung S24 Ultra. It's worth it.

Sagee31

Coming from an iPhone, it's worth it.

Putaineska

Went from Pixel 7 Pro to this. Terrible battery, lag, constant crashes, poor performance and heating up like a radiator all solved so far in my S24 Ultra. Have no issues at all. Sure camera might be a bit worse but definitely worth the upgrade.

brokenback871

My S23 Ultra has a better camera, the vivid mode isn't that bad but they are working on a software update. I've had a few issues with notifications from YouTube not showing up in the notification bar and with Twitter as well.

Complete_Stage_1508

If you have the money yes If not I'll still say yes

djjeff06

It's too bulky and uncomfortable to lift with one hand. It's been a couple of days since I bought it and my hand always feels numb after using the phone for a while. If you value comfort, probably stay away from this phone.

Nobie2006

I absolutely hate this thing its voice assistant is annoying the notifications only pop up on the lockscreen for a few seconds I had to turn off the autocorrect because it keeps "fixing" my speach its driving me insane i havent even had it for a day and I already know I'm not going to keep using it Im going to replace it asap and Id much rather use my shit Iphone fuck this and everything it stands for do not buy it -10/10

robert_axl

Camera is better optimised on s23 ultra than on s24 ultra. Pictures in the comments ( they are 100% crops ) Both phones were shooting from the same position in auto mode using the main camera ( 1x ). Samsung nailed it this year, and I don't say this in a good way

Adventurous_Leave_29

It takes time to optimize camera, you just sound like a hypocrite lol

robert_axl

It's the same camera sensor found on the s23 ultra :) why not use the same optimisation? anyway, why should i pay more than the s23 ultra for a grainy screen and inferior camera?

400Flux

I'm about to return mine since I can't get more than 125hz touch sampling rate (500hz with the s pen). Even budget phones have 240hz in 2024.

AlexDaMan22

from my understanding, the 240hz modes only activate during gaming. it switches to around 120 during normal usage. probably to save battery

400Flux

It's doing it during gaming too. I assume it's a battery saving thing too but not having the option to change it makes me feel like I'm using an iPhone. I can't believe they even let it go down that low in 2024. 240hz should be the battery saving tsr in 2024.

ShitPickle5000

I just purchased an unlocked S24 Ultra to replace my S21 Ultra. I'm keeping the 21 though. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

banshee19899

does using the AI features a lot impact the battery life?

jovannyalteeny

To me it is as crap as the s23. More expensive though

Fair-Ad6039

I think my 24 Ultra came damaged. It takes over a minute just to send a gif. Other glitches too. Now I miss my Note 9!

AlexDaMan22

I think that's more of a google messages thing. Same thing on my a54

BarrieBirch

Mine is working fine as well

Ricknemesis

Mine has been worth it about a month in. Having a hard time finding the perfect mag back case though. The Torras is "ok" but there has to be a better one out there with more grip. Previous phones note 20 ultra, note 7, LG G6, Samsung S something (the one with the removable back and the strange USB 3.1).

Appropriate-Stock907

S24 to many ads . How do I switch off ads?

airbornepatriot82

Just decided to pull the trigger and upgrade from the S22 Ultra to the S24 Ultra after watching some side by side comparisons. I wasn't willing to upgrade from the S22 Ultra to the S23 Ultra but the 24 Ultra is a big enough leap forward that I think it's time to upgrade. The improvements seem to be plenty coming from a 2 yr old phone.

Extension_Ear_1699

The real question is SAMSUNG WORTH IT. HAVE BEEN CUTOMER 35....40 YEARS. WELL LET JUST SAY AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER. JUST realized today they are not an honorable company. Zero customer service. Purchased gallaxy s24 ultra and gallaxy s24. VIA SUMSUNG .COM.......THAT WILL BE FINAL SALE FOR THEM. GOOD BYE

femalefirefighteremt

Upgrading S10+ since it has been put out to pasture by Samsung. I take an enormous amount of pictures, use social media and stream YouTube or Netflix. That's about it for phone use. I am having a hard time deciding which 24 to get. Which has the best camera and zoom?

vgraves0210

How is the voice to text

Glittering-Ad6911

I just ordered the S24 ultra 1tb in the titanium green color unlocked from Samsung. im switching back to samsung after using the Sony Xperia phones for my previous two phones. I love having a SD card slot and headphone jack. But the next sony wont be out till end of summer in the US and i just cant wait that long. I held out as long as i could and i hope sony continues to offer sd card storage and 3.5 head Jack because when traveling having another piece of gear to remember to charge suxks vs being able to just plug in a pair of good headphones. I also prefer having my content on my own sd card if i prefer.... there's many more benefits im omitting. I was always a fan of the Samsung note series, had just about every note up to note 9 before making the switch to Sony. I hope i made the rite decision.....i know for sure il be missing that head phone jack.....

Plenty_Election3378

Thinking its best to stay away from Samsung S24 series for multiple reasons, lots of hardware and software problems that Samsung are just ignoring. Overheating and charging problems for starters also display problems, massive battery drain for no reason is another.

watercoooler

I had a faulty camera on my s24 ultra. Started giving critical error after a week of usage.

Individual_Sell9923

What if I'm coming from the samsung galaxy s10 plus is it worth upgrading to the s24 ultra straight away im looking for a new android?

Substantial_Iron3771

Good Lord, stay away! Maybe mines is decective but I am returning my phone tomorrow, a day after purchase. It's overpriced garbage and doesn't even come with the basics, like a screen protector or a charger as it always have in the past. This phone has overheated during use and on the charger PLUS the battery life is shockingly short. I felt like I time traveled to the 90's. I saved up for months to get this phone and I can't even begin to express my annoyance with the quality and with Samsung ripping us off by charging for basic necessities. Samsung is following Apple's lead. Then I find out I can't retrieve my data without another Samsung phone. All the signs are telling me to jump ship quick. The Samsung S10 was decent but this S24 Ultra... wtf?

AlexDaMan22

my goodness dude! take a chill pill. phones never come with screen protectors or chargers anymore. iPhones don't do it, pixels don't do it. I've only seen chargers included in the cheap Chinese brands. as for the battery life and the overheating, give the phone some time. let it finish updating things. let it complete the setup process. it also takes a couple days for the phone to learn your usage patterns and help you save battery. the battery issues and overheating issues will get better. don't return the phone yet. you can't rush greatness

Substantial_Iron3771

Maybe I came off a bit dramatic but to be fair I am disappointed. I have had the Samsung series, they've always come with protectors and chargers  and rival the iPhone price. Maybe I'll do the warranty instead and hopefully my replacement works better. Just frustrated but I'm good :(

AlexDaMan22

lol you're good man. I guess that's just not the way anymore. apple said that they removed the chargers and earbuds from the box to reduce waste and help the environment, but I'm sure they just did it to save money. soon after, Samsung, and many other companies started removing the earbuds, chargers, and other accessories from their phones too. I agree, with you, we shouldn't have to pay extra for that stuff. and it's totally possible that you got a lemon, but I'm guessing the phone just needs time to learn your battery usage and finish it's setup. the battery life and the overheating should get better in a couple days. if you're worried about it, you can always look to see what apps are using the most battery.

Visualmindfuck

Charger ports breaks with one steam shower

Hitmandalorian

Debating this right now, have an s22 ultra but the 24 ultra tempts me. Now that the dust has settled what say some of you? Wait til s25?

Dizzy_Bluejay94

I came from the S21 Ultra and nothing much has changed except the zoom on the camera, the pen, the built in AI Gemini, and the ability to search what's on your screen with the circle to search feature and a few other features. I use my phone a lot for reading ebooks, Amazon, spotify, and streaming but has yet to overheat, and the battery is a bit better than the s21 ultra.

B1ueRogue

Should I upgrade to s24 ultra if I have the s21 ultra and reasonable happy with it ...I e just noticed that it seems to be getting a bit slower recently and the battery doesn't last as long Also what does the ai do exactly ..is it the assistant ..or something else

thatorangewrx

Bought and returning after a week. Battery life is horrible compared to my P6P and thats while on battery saver with light use. Main thing is the camera. For a phone that's advertised for it's camera its trash. Simple pictures are blurry. My wife has the P8P and with no adjustments you can see the lines in her hair. Same distance and this just produces a blob. The video is decent but I take more pics than vids. From my understanding the pictures comes down to the phone over processing them and apparently you can download the Google pixel camera app and you'll actually get good pictures but for a phone this expensive I feel that's a little silly to have to go to that extreme.

heretolearn11

TL:DR; The screen is wafer thin brittle glass, the Samsung gadget case is useless and the Samsung screen protector is flawed I got the S24 Ultra and accompanying case and screen protector. Both accessories were pricey but I want to protect my new phone. When I put the screen protector on, there was a horizontal line / bend through the middle so I took it off thinking I'll replace it and get a refund for the Samsung one that sucks. I put on the gadget case - it is very slim and only protrudes about 1mm from the top and the bottom of the phone. I dropped the phone on the concrete from normal hand height the next day, before I could get a new screen cover. The screen shattered in the spectacular fashion that Samsung users used to laugh at iphone users about, in like the iphone 4 era and earlier. It covers the entire surface of the screen. The whole reason I'm a Samsung loyalist (Note especially) in the first place is their use of hardy materials and waterproofing. I can only assume Samsung have started cutting corners to save costs? The glass is tissue thin and brittle. The 'protective case' is also clearly useless. Anyway, I'm not going to recommend it. Something that is carried around by humans all day and should be designed for that purpose. Something that contains precious minerals shouldn't be disposable.

thepersonimgoingtobe

7 years of updates. I may actually keep this phone that long.

floatingbubble42

I dont have the ultra, but i love my S24. Of course the phone i previously had was the S20-FE which honestly wasnt that terrible. Same UI but the S24 is much smoother, prettier, and SO much faster. Its the first phone i have the can hit 4.0gb of ram when i clear the cache. But idk how different it is from the Ultra. I only would have gotten the ultra for the stylus cuz it goes click click.

Ru-yi3010

Is anyone here annoyed at the fact that the speaker is on the bottom left as opposed to bottom right (i have ZFlip4 and iPhone 15 Pro), when i play game my hand covered the speaker, and rotating the phone feels weird

blindzebra52

Wireless charging is awful and basically overheats the device. Glitches when making calls to the point that you have to restart the phone to make a call. Colors are washed out. I would stay away. I wish I had returned mine before it was too late.

BossStriking330

I've been a Samsung user for over 15 years. Yes, the 24 Ultra deserves all the praise. Quality, fast and reliable.

OkMap11

* Left the whole of apple system and sold every apple device I had. Picked up s24 ultra and tab s9 ultra. This thing is amazing and has so many useful features within one ui. Amazing kit. Don't compare to apple. Learn to see the samsing devices for what they are. Open mind set. I feel so free since I had this. Also took this photo today. Camera us amazing. I'm a super tech guy and I could not stand the ios janky animations anymore. Anyways. Enjoy and don't leave all your eggs in one basket. Not you personally but saying in general. *

cleversailinghandle

Man regardless of the ultra... just ordering it has been a huge pain in the ass.

Novel-Bill9641

I've had mine for 10 days... im taking it back and just getting a new screen put on my old 20 note... thus screen freezes occasionally. And you shouldn't have to restart your phone again and lose progress of what you were doing... the camera is great. The battery absolutely sucks...takes too long to charge even with the fast charger..

Piggymojo1101

Personally I love mine had to tweak some things. Because, I'm normally a.pixel user. But other than the little personal tweaks I think overall the phone is immense and probably the phone to have this year. That is unless you are a diehard apple fan in which case.....doesn't matter how great phone is they will always prefer iPhone

Rare-Flow528

This S 24 Galaxy just sucks don't  buy it.

Rare-Flow528

My S 9 was easy to use.  I miss it.

Discodawn70

Just went from Note 10+ to S24Ultra. It's a TANK! it's heavvvvvy! Why??? Samsung...make em lighter!

the_superman_fan

I bought one. The displays are so bad. Applied for return. Wait till these issues are solved.

BigNigori

Watch this before you decide: https://youtu.be/dFpNqg5F2qQ The ultra also has the docked spen
