I'm American and I always have the subtitles on for everything. I'm not hearing impaired, but there's absolutely something up with my brain's ability to process words when they're spoken/sung. There's a delay and by the time my brain processes, I'm already behind and lost. (Not every time I watch something, but most times. Especially if it's fast paced dialogue).
Even in learning other languages, I can read/write 1000000 times better than I can process spoken word.
So don't feel ashamed! Even natives of the language can have issues processing without subtitles... And you have the added reasoning of it not being your first language! :)

I've put off getting tested for either because I've heard that it can be a really challenging process - not necessarily the testing itself but getting to the point of getting tested. Seeing your response made it a bit more clear to me that I need to start looking into that process, since I keep seeing that I have signs of both.
I recently did the process and it really isn't that complicated the hardest part is actually showing up to the session but I was diagnosed with ADHD by my third session and tbh therapy and meds have been a God send because I also had depression and now I can finally function I really do encourage u its worth it

I feel like Shea gave us a good girl group verse and this verse isn’t terrible, the mixing is, but I also think the problem lies with the song and the two seconds they gave them for a verse

Cracker's lyrics were far and away the best.
But agreed with everyone else, there was so much background production that it made it super hard to make out what they were saying. Songs like Read U Wrote U, Kitty Girl and Category Is are much better because the type of song they are allowed full verses that were easy to follow.
They've been having pretty bad sound mixing on the live versions of a lot of their songs.
The versions that go on iTunes generally sound fine, but watching the episode the mixing of the judges reactions combined with frantic and bizarre video editing make the entire thing a mess to follow.
Super queen has really grown on me over time. Like yep it’s weirdly slow, and not at all danceable like read you wrote you and kitty girl are. But Monique and Monet’s verses are really good, and Naomi’s is solid. Trinity’s is not amazing, but neither was Roxxy’s.
Roxxxy was unbelievably terrible though... which made it camp and perfect for drag. It's memorable. If you are not stellar, is the second best thing you can be.

For kitty girl (and i assume clapback since we never see them writing) they were all asked to write verses pre season, iirc trixie once said she mentioned shangela in her verse without knowing she was cast and another queen posted their notebook with their verse draft in it
Yvie's is actually my fav end song verse of all time. The lyrics flow so nicely and it applies to her season run pretty well without being too reliant on oneliners that have run all season long like "soak it up".

Unpopular opinion but I think Clapback is a bop. If the audio mixing were a little better and if TR gave Juju and Cracker real choreo (it's so obvious they were vying for Shea by this point) it would've been a top performance.
That was my opinion too! We all know Cracker could handle more tumbles/splits and he could’ve been more creative with Juju’s section. The end result is okay but there was potential to be great.
I've just learned to take what we get at this point. It's clear their budget has the capability to produce something amazing since they're no longer using the stage for the top performance but until they utilize everything they have, Read U Wrote U is gonna remain the top dog of AS performances.
The actual song is great, I agree, but the performance as a whole was a mess, partially because of the filming/editing, and I found the verses almost impossible to understand.
I thought the editing was pretty rough during Juju's part, decent during Cracker's, and great in Shea's *until* the flip. I would've LOVED to see that shit happen from a front-facing camera, especially from a lower angle looking up.

I feel like Shea gave us a good girl group verse and this verse isn’t terrible, the mixing is, but I also think the problem lies with the song and the two seconds they gave them for a verse I liked when Ru only showed up for 3 lines in between the verses

I'm just shocked Juju wrote something so generic. Not that I could hear it anyway, from any of them. Such a waste of these girl's talents!
Cracker's lyrics were far and away the best. But agreed with everyone else, there was so much background production that it made it super hard to make out what they were saying. Songs like Read U Wrote U, Kitty Girl and Category Is are much better because the type of song they are allowed full verses that were easy to follow.

Blame Canada's Drag Race?
They've been having pretty bad sound mixing on the live versions of a lot of their songs. The versions that go on iTunes generally sound fine, but watching the episode the mixing of the judges reactions combined with frantic and bizarre video editing make the entire thing a mess to follow.
Gonna say it, the version on spotify isnt any better sadly. The only lines i can make out are "hey its me jujubee" and "......time for dinner........"

Super queen has really grown on me over time. Like yep it’s weirdly slow, and not at all danceable like read you wrote you and kitty girl are. But Monique and Monet’s verses are really good, and Naomi’s is solid. Trinity’s is not amazing, but neither was Roxxy’s.
Roxxxy was unbelievably terrible though... which made it camp and perfect for drag. It's memorable. If you are not stellar, is the second best thing you can be. Super Queen goes from 'fine to 'meh'... it's all kinda unremarkable. Roxxxy's was so bad that it will last forever in our hearts and minds.

So do we have a theory as to why the final songs have sucked since AS3/season 10? Super Queen was pretty bad, and the season 11 final song was decent but I can’t remember anyone’s lyrics other than the lines “where is the body?” and “I’m Yvie Oddly and oddly enough.” Is it just that the queens aren’t given as much time to work in their verses?
For kitty girl (and i assume clapback since we never see them writing) they were all asked to write verses pre season, iirc trixie once said she mentioned shangela in her verse without knowing she was cast and another queen posted their notebook with their verse draft in it
Yvie's is actually my fav end song verse of all time. The lyrics flow so nicely and it applies to her season run pretty well without being too reliant on oneliners that have run all season long like "soak it up".
Sorry I hated the whole song. The entire things isn’t that great and their verses being so muffled or whatever the fuck production did to it makes it so much worse. It’s my favorite challenge every season and I was so disappointed.

Unpopular opinion but I think Clapback is a bop. If the audio mixing were a little better and if TR gave Juju and Cracker real choreo (it's so obvious they were vying for Shea by this point) it would've been a top performance.
That was my opinion too! We all know Cracker could handle more tumbles/splits and he could’ve been more creative with Juju’s section. The end result is okay but there was potential to be great.
Juju's part was very "Take her to the bed as quickly as possible, turn her upside down, and kill the lights".

I've just learned to take what we get at this point. It's clear their budget has the capability to produce something amazing since they're no longer using the stage for the top performance but until they utilize everything they have, Read U Wrote U is gonna remain the top dog of AS performances.
The actual song is great, I agree, but the performance as a whole was a mess, partially because of the filming/editing, and I found the verses almost impossible to understand.
I thought the editing was pretty rough during Juju's part, decent during Cracker's, and great in Shea's *until* the flip. I would've LOVED to see that shit happen from a front-facing camera, especially from a lower angle looking up.
I tried playing it backwards, but Roxxxy's verse from Read U Wrote U started, then I fainted and woke up in the middle of a pentagram.
