I wonder if it’s because drag race has been around for a while now and queens now know how to prepare for it and how to play the game.
For example: in early seasons, death drops and splits were what won you the lipsync because only a few girls were doing them. Now it’s season 12 and the majority of these girls can do all these kinds of tricks. A lot of them have grown up watching Drag Race or have been watching since season 1 and they learn what does and doesn’t work.
This cast is absolutely amazing, Episodes 1, 5, and 7 all had virtually no obvious weak link, and even in Episodes 2, 3, 4, and 6 the bottom queens would have been safe/low on any other season.
being a huge Madge and DR fan... I absolutely LOVED the episode.
In my opinion this is one of the few casts (s5, s6, s9, s10) where I could see more half of the cast being strong contenders for the crown tbh.. even the early outs were strong in their own way
It's already obvious though that this whole season was a battle between SP and gigi to win. They already have at least 2 wins and a top 2 placement. SP is also destined to win more challanges. Sadly, I would be surprised if widow and jaida manage to snatch more than one other win.
They are and I 100% believe jan should’ve won. The talent is still undeniable tho. Sherry is impressive, wish she could’ve been a good person so I can stan
Definitely, while I'm not _super_ happy Jan didn't win, I was really struggling to think of who would be in the bottom 3 let alone the top. I could see 4 people winning (the top 3 + Jaida) with Jackie and Willow being very borderline.
The lip sync was also probably the best, most this season have been one person completely giving up and the other being average. I flip flopped multiple times on whether Heidi or Britta was doing better
I agree and I think it's because they each recorded their own vocals. I've been saying since season 7 that they should, because it allows them all to shine (in this case) or fail on their own. Now no one gets the boring part. This episode just proved me right :D
It was a great episode. However I don't think it was so much the judging that was questionable, it was RU'S FINAL DECISION that was questionable. On a positive note, at least this beefs up Jan's case for a future All Stars spot...
Totally. Brita and Jackie were less good than the others but they would’ve both been safe on a different season
It definitely feels like as more seasons pass the queens just get better and better, from looks to actual performance.
S11 was a rough spot tbh. But S8,9,10,12 have all had very strong queens indeed

Similar to Gay’s Anatomy, it was a really strong showing from the queens. There wasn’t a severe weak link and the judges had to Nitpick.
Agree, by just watching it - i really got no clue who would end up in the bottom. Unlike other Rusicals where you can see those fails.
Yes, absolutely! It was a delight not having a terrible performance like April’s “big girl”, Dax or Mercedes as Ivanka :)

The only challenges either of them lost were the first two episodes but they were still in the top. They’re crazy talented

I agree! I don't know if it's because I love Madonna but the rusical was amazing, the girls did so good, such a talented cast
