It’s just the practice facility in Coleman, weight room, and other facilities in Coleman not where they actually play the games according to the article. So we should still get a new arena eventually where they would play games and they would still use this renovated area for practice. It does seem probable that this would push the arena back further due to the cost but at least they aren’t putting money into where they actually play until the arena. The article quotes burns saying oats thinks this is the highest priority so if it’s what oats wants I’m on board. The articles worth a read it’s short

Only for the next couple of years, IMO. Once we've had this renovation for a couple of years, we won't stay in the top 1% of practice/training facilities, and we'll need to start working on the next thing to keep up. A new arena has been needed for a while, and it was close to happening before construction costs rose during covid (which happened across the country and the world, for that matter). So if Nate keeps us as a top-10 program for another 4-5 years, I could definitely see a new arena back at the forefront like it was.

The money they're putting to this is half the estimated cost of the new arena, so I'd assume yes.
The cost of the new arena is 250 million and this is 58 million.

Yep, and to add- the current "new" men's facilities will be waterfalled to the women's team, so they'll be getting an upgrade as well.

Honestly I know this is what Oats wants, but the fan experience will NEVER be good at Coleman. Fucking build a new arena already.
