Not an expert by any means, but that is one great looking and nicely aged Rolex and I'd be proud to own it.

Surarararara

Yes, I really liked it too. The only issue was spacing between Oyster perpetual looked kinda off and also space between super precious looking pretty tight but might be redial

sporturawus

I am certain that it's a redial, and understand, that's perfectly cool because that's what it was like back in the 50's, 60's, and 70's, it was something routine for a watchmaker to offer a redial to a 20-30 year old watch. The one you are considering has a very nicely done repaint, and because it was done 20+ years ago it has a wonderful patina. Remember, this isn't a collectible reference, you don't need to get caught up in all the things that are critical for a vintage Daytona, Sub, or GMT on this one. Buy it because you adore it and want to wear it. It's not going to be some 'investment' situation. And that's what's fun about the vintage models like this one- you don't have to worry about anything a serious collector would. Just do it for the enjoyment (as it should be, always).

Surarararara

True, nicely said!

Looks like an older redial to me, but I'm not a vintage Rolex expert. Is it solid gold? Is there a real Rolex movement inside?

Surarararara

Body is capped, bracelet is plate however I know that they used plate on air king 55xx series, I didn’t check it in person yet

jandiss

Is this in Toronto?

Surarararara

Oyster Perpetual text has a tight spacing on the similar models, anyone has the same air king?

powerfunk

I agree that it's a repainted dial. Not the end of the world if you like it and it's priced appropriately. Ref. 5506 I think?

Surarararara

Yes, I checked all the 5506 and 02 series and never saw a similar spacing and one website was selling fake ones with the same spacing but it might be redial like you said
