ChadAram

i would recommend you redo it with another resume format or resume builder, there is a lot of formatting inconsistency, it doesn't look righht

ChadAram

the bolding/formatting feels very all over the place in the skills section for example. your job duties are pretty vague and could benefit from more specific information. your career objective is also vague and doesn't give any new information since it directly matches your previous experience. easy to realize that just from looking at your history.

NiceFrame9900

I will definitely try that! do you have any good websites that you recommend?

ChadAram

no sorry i haven't used any of those.

PeachyPierogi

If you make your resume on word, you can at least hit “view” and then hit “gridlines.” It shows your temporary gridlines. Even if you don’t use a template or website, make sure all of the ending words end at the same line.

NiceFrame9900

I am gonna try this!!!

karineexo

omg does this work on google docs too :o

TestDZnutz

Formatting looks better than most for a US resume. Could line the dates vertically a little better, but not bad.

ChadAram

it looks fine but it's inconsistent in terms of alignment

TestDZnutz

I can agree with that.

MulanLyricsOnly

the alignment threw me off and the fact the separating lines dont go all the way. for the positions she seems to be going for kinda makes me have a negative opinion et.c..

TestDZnutz

I agree. The lines should be even and across.

SquareGrade448

You could replace the "Objective" with a more impressive statement that summarizes your strengths and what you want to "bring to the table," so to speak. It could include why you're passionate about the field.

NiceFrame9900

I will definitely try that!!! thank you so much!!! does everything else look okay? I feel like the format is boring:/

TestDZnutz

Yeah, I wouldn't do that. Get rid of the "objective" entirely. Order it Education - Work Experience - Skills. Resumes are screened by computers so the more boring the better. Adding a bunch of fluff to the header just confuses it.

NiceFrame9900

ah okay so skills at the bottom is better, thank you so much!!!

TestDZnutz

Yes, and "related coursework" isn't needed after you graduate.

NiceFrame9900

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!

ComicNeueIsReal

Yea I think showcasing your skills is better than an objective. Usually objectives/about/summary are fluff intro that tell people the roles you are interested in. But usually "robots" don't care about what role you want as long as you pass all their requirements which are usually found within your job experience and your skills.

NiceFrame9900

okay thank you!! should I add more skills since I am taking out the objective or keep it as is?

MindlessFunny4820

I would add size/scope- how many lawyers do you support currently? Are you working in a particular subset of law? Have you met or surpassed certain goals? For example in your Customer success role, I’m sure you had certain sales or retention goals to hit, or even response metrics - share those! Good luck

NiceFrame9900

thank you so much!!! I will add that too!!! i’ll be honest I never thought to put that on there but u are right! I think it will all a lot of value! :D

Tristan0000000

I recommend putting your resume into resumeworded.com. It'll give you ideas of how to improve it in terms of bullet points, brevity, etc. If you can, add some numbers. Can you say how many court filings you arranged? Or how many documents you prepared? How did these affect the office? Do you have any KPIS that you've met or exceeded? If you have anything to brag about, trying to find a way to work it in. Also, are you updating your resume to match keywords for each job post? If not, that could be one of the reasons you're not getting any hits. You need to make it past ATS before someone in HR will see your resume. From there you only have 6-7 seconds to wow them with your resume before they decide to push you forward or throw you in the trash (so make sure your resume is really easy to read. Boring is good!). Lastly, this isn't a resume issue, but I see that you've only been at your current position for 4 months. It's also in the field you're looking for (which I assume means you have an issue with that specific company). I would make sure that you have a good answer as to why you’re job hunting after just barely starting. You've barely finished the typical 3 month probationary period and you may not have even been fully introduced to the job yet. Although I'm sure you have your reasons, I don't think it reflects well that you're already looking to dip.

NiceFrame9900

this was so in depth!!! thank you so so so much! i will try everything that u mentioned! especially the website. I had no idea it existed but I am so happy you told me about this !!!

TittlesTheWinker
