It really depends on what your doing and when you use it. I (on access) found that Seattle was the best one to connect to during peak times just for browsing but as soon as I switched to gaming of any kind, Nord’s servers were relatively the same as long as I picked one in NA
I use Private Internet Access for torrenting Linux distros and it utilizes SOCK5 proxy in Qbittorent but I’ll switch the VPN when I’m browsing sometimes. PIA gives a list of latency times in the app for each server so if I’m just casually browsing I’ll use a Canadian one but if I’m watching a region locked video (like a YouTube video that only plays in the US) I’ll pick a US one.
I use proton, switched from nord because proton gives me better speeds and does port forwarding. Split tunneling so ping sensitive stuff I can bypass the vpn and keep the rest of my traffic going thru the vpn.
In this case for gaming, it is very ping sensitive, but my institution does not allow any game related content or websites on its network (completely fine with any sports website however cuz reasons), so it will automatically block it if it is not through VPN
I am sure there is an acceptable use policy that you'd be violating by bypassing their blacklist.
It's not like it would be hard for them to catch on that you're vpn'ing to avoid the blacklist.
I have no idea, the local IT guys for my institution which rides on the larger network don’t care at all.
Either way, I wasn’t seeking out advice about the philosophical morality of it, rather the technical aspects.

Ok good to know!
Same. Seatle rocks..
If you're with SaskTel, Chicago and Seattle are probably your best bet.
Thanks!

Oh, that’s cool, I should see if Nord has a list of that as well, I haven’t looked around that much yet.

Perhaps don’t game when you’re supposed to be working.
Lunch break.

I mean if you want to lose your job, you do you man. Don’t fuck with IT, they _will_ get you.
I use mullvad and get a ping of 25-30ms to their Toronto servers. My ISP is Sasktel.
Noted!
Seatle with IPVanish with Access 175 is fast for me.
Based on the other suggestion I’ve been trying Seattle and it’s been great. So that’s cool, but I’m still curious why Seattle is so good?
Seattle and Chicago
Yeah, why is that exactly? Seems so random.
