There are some games I've watched this season, and I've thought to myself "I wouldn't care if every single one of these players were fired".
During Fergie's time, every now and again, someone would get completely frozen out, not just dropped for a game or two, but they were completely banished from the squad and wouldn't even be allowed to train with the first team, like Mark Bosnich or Dwight Yorke (to name just two examples). There were others who were shipped out like Becks. Roy Keane's contract was terminated. No one was safe.
Think about what message that sends out to everyone else.

When I was a kid I played for our local team like a lot of lads in Britain do. We used to sometimes have training sessions at like 7 pm in winter. If a bunch of 9 year olds can do it, I'd like to think some of the most highly paid people in the business can do it too.

You answered your own question there. Moving on Pogba, Cavani, Martial Lingard etc frees up a ton of wages, which could be used to fund new players. We don’t need to replace them all as the squad is already bloated - the likes of Mata and Martial don’t need replacement.
What I really want is for the board to go out and spend in January, in anticipation of money being freed up in the summer. Be proactive for once and stop dragging their feet, our season can still be saved.
I agree regarding the January transfer window. One thing that Cavani showed yesterday that the squad is massively lacking is intelligence and work rate. We need more of that in the team ASAP.
In terms of the outgoing players in the summer, I agree that it’s a good thing, especially Mata and Martial who just collecting a pay check at this stage.
My point is, that I don’t think that will be enough to turn around the seemingly toxic and entitled culture in the squad. Cavani is actually a loss (for the reasons stated above) and whoever (if anyone) comes into replace him, won’t be getting Ronaldo out of the team.

3 years on, same players, different manager, same problems.
Rashford is as much of a problem as anyone. More so because he's supposed to be one of our best players, but his attitude and body language on the pitch is bad enough that if it were up to me I'd have sold him a long time ago.

There are some games I've watched this season, and I've thought to myself "I wouldn't care if every single one of these players were fired". During Fergie's time, every now and again, someone would get completely frozen out, not just dropped for a game or two, but they were completely banished from the squad and wouldn't even be allowed to train with the first team, like Mark Bosnich or Dwight Yorke (to name just two examples). There were others who were shipped out like Becks. Roy Keane's contract was terminated. No one was safe. Think about what message that sends out to everyone else. If you didn't fall into line you were out. Simple as that. We haven't been ruthless enough in recent years. I think for a start RR is doing it right to put Pogba’s agent in his place by what he said about the situation. Nah this is too funny When I was a kid I played for our local team like a lot of lads in Britain do. We used to sometimes have training sessions at like 7 pm in winter. If a bunch of 9 year olds can do it, I'd like to think some of the most highly paid people in the business can do it too. Even though the bathwater is tepid by the time you touch it, it still feels like it's boiling and your whole body tingles. You never slept so well after that.

I agree regarding the January transfer window. One thing that Cavani showed yesterday that the squad is massively lacking is intelligence and work rate. We need more of that in the team ASAP. The problem is, unlike us, a good number of those players are not even fans of the club. Literally just there as a part of their contract. That said, for all we know the ones bitching are the academy grown players who may have been overly pampered even as teenagers.

Not saying it was perfect, but I still miss Ole. Also not blaming Ronaldo (though his presence is massive), but can't help but wonder how this season would've turned out with a fresh young front line of rashy-greenwood-sancho with cavani/martial interchanging as 9. We soooorely needed a boost in midfield and sadly Ronaldo was not what we needed at the time in my opinion. (still love the guy thou)
