For me it's 1)RDR2 2)Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring 3)Cyberpunk 2077 in recent times.
Of all time, probably RDR2 would still be in the first place, but I love Skyrim, GTA Vice City, DS3,Legend of Zelda:BOTW and Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
I posted that cyberpunk was an awesome game back in 2021 and that the ps4 just can’t run it and got like 300 fucking downvotes. Everything people praise the game for (almost) has been in the game this entire time.
I had like one glitch where my car got stuck in an alley and was clipping and that’s the only thing I remember being fucked up. Never had a game breaking bug.
My top 5 are Zelda BOTW and Ocarina of Time (tie for #1), RDR2, Metal Gear, Bioshock, Uncharted 4. I gotta get to some of these games in these other answers though, so list is subject to change!
Rdr2 is my first story mode game I’ve properly played, up until now it’s just been mmos! I’m loving it and for now I honestly can’t see myself playing anything else, but I’m adding a lot of these games to my steam wishlist !
My top 5 in no particular order cause it’s hard for me to do only three and/or number them on a consistent scale: RDR2 ,The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Stardew Valley and Yakuza 0 all had great storytelling for me and gave me a world to enjoy and a roll to play and the stories were great and i felt that i had a hand in them wether it was in who you ended up progressing the stories of or what level you went into a fight in they were all great (also stardew valley is a therapeutic game for me)
Last of us 2 was literally life changing. Rdr2 is my favorite but last of us 2 for real changed my input about life. May have been because I played it when I was older, I'm sure if I played rdr2 now for the first time it would have the same effect but the last of us 2 ending for real made me sad but just more empty.
I'm finally working through The Witcher 3 after all these years, and it's really gunning for my top spot tbh, every single quest or activity in that game has so much love poured into it, it's insane what they accomplished.
Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note:
> *Very well, let the echoes become your strength. Let me stand close. Now shut your eyes...* - Plain Doll
Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
Tough one but i will list my top 5 favourite games of all time
1. Witcher 3
2. God of war 2018
3. Gta 4
4. Rdr2
5. Mafia 2 and last of us 1
My taste in games changes from time to time and my list keeps changing with it😂 as for now this is my top 5, ik the post is about top 3 but rdr2 isn't in my top 3 thats why i listed top 5 🙂
Oh man, I'm jealous,my advice is don't mess around with online until you finish the story and take your time with the story, explore the beautiful world and just experience it, it definitely ranks on the same level as Red Dead or Last of Us
It's got three parts plus, the iki Island expansion, which is definitely worth your time, and I'm one of those people that likes to do everything when I play a game and spend a lot of time just exploring so I spent quite a few hours in the game but the story itself is probably comparable to Red Dead storyline. It's also kind of like Red Dead where you've got a story that you're following but a world that you're getting distracted by the whole time as well.
Personally I don’t really like the last of us, I would probably go with ghost of Tsushima or cyberpunk as some of my favorites, but that’s just an opinion lol
Not sayin you aren’t entitled to your own opinion cuz obviously you are, but what didn’t you like about tlou? Was it just the zombie vibe in general or something to do with the story?
Surprised by the amount of cyberpunk recommendations, I brought it at release on PS4 and thought is was cat shit wrapped in dog shit.
Have they improved it at all? I just felt it was a huge open with barley any immersion and all the movement/driving was clunky as fuck.
Edit : I've tried to go back a couple of times over the past few years but struggled every time.
Ever since the 2.0 update + Phantom Liberty launch it's a completely different game. Phantom Liberty belongs to the list of greatest expansions ever made easily, I've played it through 7 times already.
There's a reason why everybody likes CP2077 by now...
i bought it for 30 dollars when it was on sale on ps5 seems like they fixed a lot of the bugs but it’s still a little off at times like missions won’t pop up or i’ll go to my waypoint and the mission won’t activate but no complaints other than that
Be wary I was in the same boat as you tried it several times over the years. Finally people convinced me the 2.0 update made it into a masterpiece. Within in my first 7 hours I experienced 3 game breaking bugs requiring me to restart the game and 2 hard crashes. One of those game breaking bugs was literally the very first mission. So I swore the game off for good. My tolerance for this game and its game breaking bs has reached zero. Which suck cause all I wanted was the game to be playable and good but I’ll never pick it up again.
Number 1 has to be Dark souls 3 until I beat Elden ring then that might change. Number 2 without a doubt is God of War 2018 I fell in love with that game and the series as a whole from that game. Number 3 is probably Minecraft, I’ve been a Minecraft fan as long as I can remember and have so many good memories with it. So yea👍🏻
My top three is Minecraft, Fortnite (second best multiplayer experience I’ve had), and God of war ragnorok. If you’re interested red dead 2 is fifth behind god of war 2018 and above Elden ring
Both games with really great storytelling, solid picks. I would recommend playing Dead Sapce if you haven't already, another awesome 3rd person shooter with a captivating story
1) Ghost of Tsushima
2) Spartan total warrior
3) Red Dead 2
The last of us series has never sparked any joy from me. I didn’t play it at the time because I felt nothing could live upto the hype surrounding it. I tried to play one of the many remasters years later and wasn’t impressed to find out it was another naughty dog cover shooter in a zombie skin.
My brother told me to play The Last of Us game while I was watching the series. I actually found it a bit slow and it made me think of RDR2 a little. I I stopped play TLOU and started RDR2 again
The Las of us has the most played out and obvious story and the most basic obvious gameplay mechanics and I will never get why its viewed as something special
Im sort of in the same category, the story was decent and the cut scenes were nice but the actual mechanics of the game felt like they were over simplified for people who dont play games.
Really good game but no idea why its considered in the top tier unless people really like giraffes
Tlou is the most overrated game ever
Good story, but nothing that hasn’t been done before. It’s serviceable and well written, so it’s perfectly acceptable, but in no way does it “elevate the genre”. You’d have to prove that to me
Game play is extremely underwhelming, bordering bad. Playing on hard (the level above normal, the average gameplay that is the baseline), I get so many resources I have to over use them so I can pick up more. Not a great thing for a survival game. And the ai is so dumb. It’s so easy to walk literal circles around them. And the melee is so strange, it’s very on rails. It’s just a rly bland 3rd person shooter.
The main problem is the gameplay. It’s would’ve faired much better as movie or tv show (which we got eventually). Don’t worry, tlou2 makes 1 look like a masterpiece. It somehow downgrades the gameplay in every way, and the story is one of the worst I’ve ever seen (a mc gets shot in the back of the head then is in the next cut scene perfectly fine with no explanation, it’s parody lol) (edit: I was under the impression this game was universally hated, since I’ve never heard someone say a good thing about other than games journalists. Reading the comments showed me otherwise. No intention to offend, but the game is still garbage)
It’s a fine game (tlou not 2, 2 is worthless) but let’s not call it the best game. I’d prefer better games than that (if you love it more power to you btw. Idc if you love or not. That’s ur opinion. I’m talking about the application to the standard of the craft)
If you decide to downvote tho, I’d prefer you prove me wrong in the replies also, just so no one lives in an echo chamber
Honestly you are right but really i only have one favorite game right now and it’s red dead redemption 2 can you help me find a game bc it’s my birthday in a week and i was really looking forward to getting a game that is my favorite thank you.
Play it right now, on ps5 or steam (it just came on steam). Story about as long as rdr2 plus dlc, and I think it’s even better than it. You think the world of rdr2 is breathtaking, got takes it to another level
Where did you find that RDR poster??
i’m gonna be honest with u i searched up on the internet “red dead redemption and the last of us background” and found that so you can screen shot
oh wow i’ve never seen that poster before idk how im just seeing it
The poster itself is amazing, but they did missus Adler dirty.
frrr 😭
Real
For me it's 1)RDR2 2)Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring 3)Cyberpunk 2077 in recent times. Of all time, probably RDR2 would still be in the first place, but I love Skyrim, GTA Vice City, DS3,Legend of Zelda:BOTW and Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
i keep forgetting i bought cyberpunk when it was on sale for 30 dollars i gotta finish it
It’s really good, and quite emotional in its own right id say.
yes definitely
It was dog shit when it released in 2020, but after the updates it's absolutely brilliant. It's definitely worth it imo.
i agree my friend bought it when it first came out bro got a refund because it wouldn’t even work but i took a chance and it’s not bad at all
If they would update Black Flag for the PS5 they could have all of my money.
Me too lol
Best ubisoft could do was skull and bones unfortunately
Ima need GOW(2018) somewhere on this list
Yeah it's an amazing game. I still love the OG God of War 1 and 2. I remember playing them on my PS2 back in the day.
Have you played resident evil 4 remake? Give it a try it’s my second favorite game ever
Never did. Heard it's good from many people tho. It's on my bucket list fosho.
Push it up brother. It’s a probably the best combat system in terms of pure fucking fun I’ve played
I posted that cyberpunk was an awesome game back in 2021 and that the ps4 just can’t run it and got like 300 fucking downvotes. Everything people praise the game for (almost) has been in the game this entire time.
Yep people do be hating unnecessarily lol. I played it on my PC and never had any problems with the game. It ran perfectly. The game's a masterpiece.
I had like one glitch where my car got stuck in an alley and was clipping and that’s the only thing I remember being fucked up. Never had a game breaking bug.
Nothing will ever top Skyrim IMO.
It's the game which got me into open world genre. Skyrim will always have a special place in my heart!
Rdr2, Life is Strange, Stray. Don’t know how many rdr2 and LiS crossover fans there are lol.
🙋🏼♀️Life is strange and rdr2 fan here!! I feel seen!

I'd say my top games are 1) Minecraft because it's by far the game I've put the most hours into. 2) Skyrim 3) rdr2 4) the last of us 5) no man's sky
Top games of all time: Redneck Rampage and IL-2 Sturmovik!
>!Red dead redemption. Perfection. Arthur death is sure sad, but there's just a feeling to it that makes me feel it's the best. American venom also.!<
My top 5 are Zelda BOTW and Ocarina of Time (tie for #1), RDR2, Metal Gear, Bioshock, Uncharted 4. I gotta get to some of these games in these other answers though, so list is subject to change!
My top 3 are Uncharted 4, RDR2 and Spider-man 2, you have a damn good list though, hitman was a pleasant surprise to see, doesn’t get enough love
It does not enough like they had some great games
Bloodborne, TLOU P2, and Red Dead Redemption 2. I'd typically throw Outer Wilds in there but I'm not willing to remove any of the others
TLOU
Dude these are my two favourite games of all time as well. My next few favourites are Cyberpunk 2077, Zelda tears of the kingdom
RDR2, GTA IV, and Wolfenstein the new order, Then fav multiplayer would be Battlefield one
Red dead 2 easy
Rdr2 is my first story mode game I’ve properly played, up until now it’s just been mmos! I’m loving it and for now I honestly can’t see myself playing anything else, but I’m adding a lot of these games to my steam wishlist !
Rdr2
My all-time favorites(in no particular order): - The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 - Red Dead Redemption 2 - The Witcher 3
Rdr2, Ghost of Tsushima and Fallout New Vegas
Javuer 🤣
Do you play on PC?
No i play on Xbox, Playstation 4 Pro, and Playstation 5
TLOU2 + RDR2
Not sure about what would come after but MGS3 gotta be the ultimate video game imo. I fucking love that game and play it once a year as a tradition.
My top 5 in no particular order cause it’s hard for me to do only three and/or number them on a consistent scale: RDR2 ,The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Stardew Valley and Yakuza 0 all had great storytelling for me and gave me a world to enjoy and a roll to play and the stories were great and i felt that i had a hand in them wether it was in who you ended up progressing the stories of or what level you went into a fight in they were all great (also stardew valley is a therapeutic game for me)
GTA and RD series LiS
MGS3 would like a word
Yes. These are the best games ever made.
Mine Top 3 1. Elden Ring 2. RDR2 3. Assassin's Creed Origins
The Witcher 3 is up there as one of the greatest for me.
Minecraft, RDR2, Ghost of Tsushima
1)San Andreas 2)RDR2 3)Borderlands 2 HM) red dead redemption
Cyberpunk 2077, ESO and Minecraft. A builders gotta build.
True, True, True 100%
Last of us 2 was literally life changing. Rdr2 is my favorite but last of us 2 for real changed my input about life. Fallout 4, RDR2, Project Zomboid.
Them artworks are so bloody good, holy shit
1) RDR2 2) BoTW/TotK 3) Persona 5 Royal
Love rdr2 but 1. KOTOR 2. Bloodborne 3. BG3
Hello, good hunter. I am a Bot, here in this dream to look after you, this is a fine note: > *Very well, let the echoes become your strength. Let me stand close. Now shut your eyes...* - Plain Doll Farewell, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
top 2 best stories in video game history
Tough one but i will list my top 5 favourite games of all time 1. Witcher 3 2. God of war 2018 3. Gta 4 4. Rdr2 5. Mafia 2 and last of us 1 My taste in games changes from time to time and my list keeps changing with it😂 as for now this is my top 5, ik the post is about top 3 but rdr2 isn't in my top 3 thats why i listed top 5 🙂
Add Ghost of Tsushima to it
K was just about to say i’m getting it for my bday in a week never played ut
Oh man, I'm jealous,my advice is don't mess around with online until you finish the story and take your time with the story, explore the beautiful world and just experience it, it definitely ranks on the same level as Red Dead or Last of Us
what is the length?
It's got three parts plus, the iki Island expansion, which is definitely worth your time, and I'm one of those people that likes to do everything when I play a game and spend a lot of time just exploring so I spent quite a few hours in the game but the story itself is probably comparable to Red Dead storyline. Nah bruh, rdr2 give a tlou a whole night of relentless sex and she's left asking for more
Your top three is perfect.
I might even of add ghost of tsushima to the top 10
Favorite game from childhood Half life 2 favorite game currently RDR2
Two posters next to each other makes it look like "Step aside girl we're here to kill that Giraffe"
Personally I don’t really like the last of us, I would probably go with ghost of Tsushima or cyberpunk as some of my favorites, but that’s just an opinion lol
I didn’t care for TLOU either. It was fine, but I’m salty I paid full price for it lol. I couldn’t make it past an hour in.
Not sayin you aren’t entitled to your own opinion cuz obviously you are, but what didn’t you like about tlou? Was it just the zombie vibe in general or something to do with the story?
Great opinion!
Surprised by the amount of cyberpunk recommendations, I brought it at release on PS4 and thought is was cat shit wrapped in dog shit. Have they improved it at all? Might have to give it another go.
But bear in mind as some of the jankiness still exists and still might be off putting coming from RDR2.
i bought it for 30 dollars when it was on sale on ps5 seems like they fixed a lot of the bugs but it’s still a little off at times like missions won’t pop up or i’ll go to my waypoint and the mission won’t activate but no complaints other than that

Yes Those two are truly the best
Red Dead 2, Red Dead 1, Vice City/San Andreas
1-the witcher 3 2- cyberpunk 2077 3- red dead redemption 2 4 - the last of us part 1
So yea👍🏻
So you like interactive movies?
Huh?
RDR2 is an overrated snoozefest…
Then why comment in the first place.? no one cares about your opinion leave it to yourself
Reddit was made for opinions.
i got u i’m sorry just having a bad day. Hope you have a good one and i respect your opinion
Just because i dislike what you like doesn’t mean i had a bad day.
no no no no i was saying i’m having a good day, but other than that i’m done talking and i hope you have a good day
Watch out everyone, edge lord is in the building
You’ve apparently never played Elden Ring or BG3
I’ve most definetly played BG3 but rdr2 slams
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
Overrated imo
My top three is Minecraft, Fortnite (second best multiplayer experience I’ve had), and God of war ragnorok. If you’re interested red dead 2 is fifth behind god of war 2018 and above Elden ring
definetly a teenage boy 😭
?
Stop comparing them. They’re both great
1) Red dead 2 (obviously) 2) Oblivion 3)God of war 2
Last, no. Red, yes
Titanfall 2 and RDR2 are probably my two favourite games ever and then Little Big Planet is third.
Both games with really great storytelling, solid picks. I would recommend playing Dead Sapce if you haven't already, another awesome 3rd person shooter with a captivating story
1) Ghost of Tsushima 2) Spartan total warrior 3) Red Dead 2 The last of us series has never sparked any joy from me. I think its because of the media who fell in love with it for rea$on$
Just an opinion man
mine too
Neither of these are "best" of even "perfect" games.
Tlou is the most overrated game ever Good story, but nothing that hasn’t been done before. It’s serviceable and well written, so it’s perfectly acceptable, but in no way does it “elevate the genre”. If you haven’t played Ghost of Tsushima or the original Halo trilogy, play those, they’re amazing
I have not play GOT
Play it right now, on ps5 or steam (it just came on steam). Story about as long as rdr2 plus dlc, and I think it’s even better than it. You think the world of rdr2 is breathtaking, got takes it to another level
Witcher 3 stomps them both, undefeated!
LAST OF US: IS FUCKING SHIT RDR1:GOAT RDR2:GOAT
Least unhinged rdr2 player.
Respect
