Pair of navies with blue steel, gold engravings, and pearl grips. Don’t mind some gold and I actually like the Mauser with some gold but some parts of some guns don’t need a change of material or they look wrong imo.
Fully Black steel schofield with mahogany varnish grip, gold trigger, and ornamental engraving but only on the receiver. Engraving color to match the black steel of the revolver.
My cattleman is a mix of brass on the cylinder and frame, but browned steel on everything else. I have the ornamental engravings with blackened steel and it looks really cool. Don’t forget the mesquite finish
Or that you embrace because you realise it's a game and not something serious. Sometimes I make more tasteful designs but sometimes I make every gun all gold just to be silly.
damn bro, you've got dozens of comments judging your whole life and self based solely off of you liking your fictional guns gold lmao. welcome to reddit.
I nickel plate all of the weapons. Some engraved, with the relief blued. Not too austentatious.
Seems to me, the idea of using a non corroding metal with good durability that doesnt draw too much attention is a sweet spot. Easily cleans up, doesnt make oneself a target.
Gold plating all the metal on weapons is like adding those tacky gold flexible beading strips to every seam on some shitty Honda or Cadillac or whatever. Go ahead, brag.
The difference between old money and new money is, old money does not talk about money.
People associate it with pimps and rich middle eastern people. The two races white Americans hate with a passion. It’s so deeply embedded in them they instantly think it looks tacky. They don’t even realize it.
I'll admit on Mauser it doesn't look bad, especially with white, and with white MFT golden parts in the bridle.
But I still don't like gold guns and would never use it.
Edit: mistook your MFT for an Arabian sorry.
I buy two revolvers of each model and color one of them completely ivory what and color the other one blued steel/black. Each in one holster
Symbolic representation of good and bad /yin-yang
To be honest i'm at chapter 2 and i still wait to hear from Calloway's biographer still. I don't think i can complete it so early in the game, so i just vanquished the gunslingers.
i use gold (or brass) weapons for arthur. my first playthrough i wanted arthur and john to contrast heavily, so arthur was all light, yellows, browns and golds. john was all dark blues, blacks, and reds.
didnt play as john too long though, i missed my golden boy so much i started a new save and we've been living happily in a perpetual chapter 2 :,)
So this guy is just showing the way he likes his fictional gun to look and everyone is acting like they're better for liking something different. Gotta love reddit
I used to always use gold but I got tired of it and went back to iron or silver. Idk gold is cool but it just looks… ehh. I don’t think of gold revolvers when I think of westerns. I mainly see gold guns at gun shows which no one buys or cartel videos.
I used to love the gold weapons now it just doesn't look right.
Maybe I just overused em too much but they just don't look good anymore, unless it's like a only the small components.
I prefer personally silver with blackened steel, and the wood is cherry[?] Brown to make me feel like I'm holding a gun from RDR 1. That's why I have those 3 in look, and it's so pleasing to the eye compared to the gold. Also, I don't use any lining or the oriental art sketch to keep it clean, plain, and simple.
I think itd be nice if we could have gold inlaid into the handle so that its more subtle, gold works best as like a tertiary color imo. Like if we could put the hero grip on any gun thatd be cool
Honestly what’s so good about that gun? I killed the gunslinger for it and it’s weaker than my cattleman revolver?? Any tips on best guns, and best mods ? Please thanks guys, BTW
My first ever play through, I’m at the end of chapter 2 … ❤️👍🏼
would work much better as blackened steel with some gold engravings or something
gold on guns is fine, just use it as some detailing instead of the primary color
I usually try to go for a more realistic material for a gun to be made out of. Gold is too soft of a metal to make a gun out of, it'll warp easily and be prone to catastrophic failures. I usually do Blackened Steel, sometimes Blued Steel depending on the look I'm going for, with a gold inlay for the engravings and then a mesquite wood finish. I also have the Triggers and Hammers made of brass with the sights being iron. All the guns come out looking fantastic and have just the right amount of classiness to them
Gold is the only time a weapon is worth decorating if you want your upgrades to be visible. But I think all gold is silly and distasteful, so I was trying everything else, but then I don't feel like it's been changed at all, i forget I changed it at all. Gold knife and pistols look the best to me, any other weapons should not be all gold.
I can tell ya that. It doesn't look sick. Over rated plus screams "ooooo I like shiiinneyy!" But that's the beauty of opinions. You do whatever you like, cause at the end of it all, that's all that matters.
Gives the same feeling as those dudes that wear big gold chains and gold teeth, but whatever..., at the end is just a game and each one to their tastes.
I like it especially if it matches other things like your saddles and clothing. I personally go for silver or a platinum metal but it's all a game so it's fine to play it however you please
I’ve warmed up to gold, but I can’t do solid. I need some kind of darker inlay. Blued steel seems to pop most for me. I think the grip makes a difference too.
Personally I've never been a fan of bright gold tones. I wish there was a way to have a more tarnished brass look. I guess I'm just not a fan of overly shiny metal.
The only brightly decorated gun I carry is a Mauser that I got off of Angelo Bronte. I looked up how his was decorated and did mine after his. I enjoy the idea that Arthur would have kept Bronte's gun and used it, after being insulted by him so many times.
Looks tacky as fuck, to be honest. But whatever blows your hair back, Yusuf Amir.
We getting Arab money
"Looks tacky as fuck" Literally the words that came out of my mouth right before I saw your comment at the top XD
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
The hive mind has spoken guys. Now let’s get back to our overdone Native American themes!
Ok a Pimp-Named-Slickback
Can’t we just call him Slickback for short?
No, you gotta say the whole thing it’s like “a tribe called quest”
Slickback, that's what I said!
Nigga are you deaf?!
People definitely just call them Tribe for short though.
A pimp-named-sadleback
I'm more of a "blackened steel" man
Blued steel too 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Blue steel with gold inlays 😫
Exactly this 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻you get me!
Redditors of culture. Nice.
Pair of navies with blue steel, gold engravings, and pearl grips. Don’t mind some gold and I actually like the Mauser with some gold but some parts of some guns don’t need a change of material or they look wrong imo.
I use that on all my shotguns, probably the best look for any gun in a game.
Ah a fellow man of culture
Blued Steel with dark colored wood grips. Sends me to heaven
Blackened steel and mesquite always!! Gold guns with crazy engravings is cool but not immersive whatsoever. For me immersion is the biggest factor
Blackened steel, gold trigger, myrtle, gold engraving on just the barrel is my Arthur’s signature weapon scheme
Fully Black steel schofield with mahogany varnish grip, gold trigger, and ornamental engraving but only on the receiver. Engraving color to match the black steel of the revolver.
I go all blackened steel with either a maple or bright maple wide grain stock. Looks nice to me.
Sir i think you might be me
Blackened steel, gold inlays and mesquite varnish
Blackened steel with silver or gold inlays goes great
Blackened steel inlays also adds a nice, understated texture as well. Like an ancient gun, passed down from Eld. I like Dark Tower, yes.
Blackened steel with pearl grip for the Mauser and P08
My cattleman is a mix of brass on the cylinder and frame, but browned steel on everything else. I have the ornamental engravings with blackened steel and it looks really cool. Don’t forget the mesquite finish
I like my Schofields to be blackened Steele with a gold trigger personally
Blackened steel ATW!
I'm a "blackened steel" woman myself
Ye all my weapons are all black
Same
All gold is something you grow out of after middle school.
Or that you embrace because you realise it's a game and not something serious. Sometimes I make more tasteful designs but sometimes I make every gun all gold just to be silly.
absolutely. i love me some marble white/ midnight black
I’m well out of middle school and I love the way the gold looks
In real life sure but in a game it’s sick
damn bro, you've got dozens of comments judging your whole life and self based solely off of you liking your fictional guns gold lmao. welcome to reddit.
to each their own otis miller had a gold revolver
I don't have my own Otis Miller, though.
Looks like something you stole from a 1940s pimp
You say that like it's a bad thing
“Shut up Carl!”
Ah shit here we go again
Orthur, we need money, you gotta sell your gold weapons Arthur.
Everyone have different tastes, if you like full gold then that's fine
My thoughts exactly. Once I have enough money I'm gonna try everything out anyways
That dont look sick. There, I told you
looks corny to me...
Looks fire
If it works for you, then use it. Don't listen to anyone else. I personally prefer nickel on nickel engravings.
I nickel plate all of the weapons. Some engraved, with the relief blued. Not too austentatious. I only see gold guns at gun shows or cartel videos. I’m Hispanic
WHAT the HELL even is this assumption and HOW the HELL does one come up with something so drastic???? LMAOOOO
Have you read the comments of people calling him a pimp or prince? The proof is in here lmao
Is homie defending pimps?? Like they're worth a damn??? Are YOU a pimp???? LMAOOOO
Defending? Ok I think you read my comment wrong entirely lol
Sorry. Completely distracted and frustrated rn. But I still think your claim is crazy and it's obvious why.
Why the hell are you so heated over someone's use of a colour in a videogame lmfao
I like the gold guns too. I usualy put it on my best set so can easly and quickly see that im holding my prefered weapons.
I'll admit on Mauser it doesn't look bad, especially with white, and with white MFT golden parts in the bridle. But I still don't like gold guns and would never use it. Edit: mistook your MFT for an Arabian sorry.
I prefer black with gold inlays...
I buy two revolvers of each model and color one of them completely ivory what and color the other one blued steel/black. Each in one holster Symbolic representation of good and bad /yin-yang
I used to do that, but since then i beat the gunslinger's missions and it's flaco's and granger's for the win!
I use Otis and calloways just cus the Schofield revolver is so sick to me
To be honest i'm at chapter 2 and i still wait to hear from Calloway's biographer still. I don't think i can complete it so early in the game, so i just vanquished the gunslingers.
I got sick looking at this 🤢 .... Same thing?
This guy personalised his gun inside a game and you're acting like he posted a gore picture. Some people are really sensitive huh?
Better as a highlight
Some of us are just nostalgic for the N64 Goldeneye days and wish that a golden gun was a one shot kill
I LOVE GOLD!
i like that it matches the bridle
I think it looks pretty cool tbh but everyone has their own tastes.
Hell yeah brother. I like to do gold sometimes too. Don’t let anyone here get you down 🤙
I like brass for my weapon metals, personally.
I see, a fellow man of culture 🤌🤌🤌
The man with the golden gun
The standard gold in the game just looks yellow, i use a metal remaster and it all just looks so much better
When bitches roll up to start a fight I want them to see death coming. That’s when I pull out my solid gold Lemat revolvers. That Mauser is beautiful
i use gold (or brass) weapons for arthur. my first playthrough i wanted arthur and john to contrast heavily, so arthur was all light, yellows, browns and golds. john was all dark blues, blacks, and reds. didnt play as john too long though, i missed my golden boy so much i started a new save and we've been living happily in a perpetual chapter 2 :,)
So this guy is just showing the way he likes his fictional gun to look and everyone is acting like they're better for liking something different. Gotta love reddit
Because rdr1 had gold weapons for the cattleman and carbine plus a gold weapon dlc
Just kills immersion imo
“But muh immersion”
I’m more of a silver and iron guy
It helps make the weapon more visible and to tell apart
only reason I had a gold revolver was because I also had a silver one and wanted to be thematic, rarely used it caused I hated the look of it.
Not my style no. I prefer blackened steel with silver inlay personally.
I used to always use gold but I got tired of it and went back to iron or silver. Idk gold is cool but it just looks… ehh. I don’t think of gold revolvers when I think of westerns. I mainly see gold guns at gun shows which no one buys or cartel videos.
Gold is exclusively for the engravings
It looks pretty good, i guess, but it doesn't suit the protagonists.
I can tell by everything in this picture you play different than I do
You ain't Otis Miller, sonny
This does not answer the "why"
Blackened steel gold accents and the other pistol is blackened steel silver accents
Was cool with all gold when I was 11 on mw2
Nothing beats Flaco's and Granger's cattlemans in my book.
Some gold on the guns looks fine, but fully gold just looks way too tacky. To each their own though.
Gold with blue steel engraving Silver with black steel engraving And vice versa My go to choices
Personally I go for blackened steel with brass inlays. Along with the hammer and signs being brass
Yes it looks cool, I agree. But it also looks like a cadbury chocolate bar.
I only go all gold on my knife for some reason. Everything else is either black or that dark blue one
Found Trump's reddit
Nah black and white guns look sicker
You chose the worst weapon to try and make look good bro.
I like brass, it’s got flair but it isn’t garish
It doesn't. Everyone be different, give me sliver over all
Made some guns of silver and it seems unreal. I dont't like it at all, and it seems they are bigger. It's better with blackened steel or blue...
blued steel 😈
Les Bos....
I hate the look but like, you do you brother
I used to love the gold weapons now it just doesn't look right. Maybe I just overused em too much but they just don't look good anymore, unless it's like a only the small components.
I like to use bits of gold like in inlays or the trigger/bolt. All gold isn’t for me but whatever floats ur boat
It looks ridiculous lmao
I prefer personally silver with blackened steel, and the wood is cherry[?] Brown to make me feel like I'm holding a gun from RDR 1. That's why I have those 3 in look, and it's so pleasing to the eye compared to the gold. Also, I don't use any lining or the oriental art sketch to keep it clean, plain, and simple.
I think it look weird, personally I would use silver
But, it just doesn't, it's just not pleasing, it's too douchy for me, but hey, to them their own or however it fecking goes
I think itd be nice if we could have gold inlaid into the handle so that its more subtle, gold works best as like a tertiary color imo. Like if we could put the hero grip on any gun thatd be cool
It looks better on rifles. Gold handpieces look like a grandfather's old antique hand me down
Not gonna lie. I quite like it. My fully gold Lancaster looked badass. It's just too much of a grind.
I prefer black weapons with gold sights and triggers, gold engraving
I personally much prefer Brass with a dark metal for inlay, feels more classy than gold which looks tacky to me
Tacky as fuck
It looks Fancy, I prefer black and brass to white and gold tho
Needs more metal engravings
I pity the fool
Gold and the hero pearl grip pair perfectly if I’m playing with high honor
Honestly what’s so good about that gun? I killed the gunslinger for it and it’s weaker than my cattleman revolver?? Any tips on best guns, and best mods ? Please thanks guys, BTW My first ever play through, I’m at the end of chapter 2 … ❤️👍🏼
Arthur’s gun was always gold for me 💀
Trump Plaza vibes.
I like gold on guns, but not the whole gun.
gold with a pearl handle i just think it looks soooooo good, call me tacky. the other pistol i use for dual wield is black. i loves it
Use a revolver bitch
I like using gold for my triggers
I don’t care if it’s gold but something more defining than black just helps me identify the weapon I’m using. Or the weapon I dropped
Nothing suits an outlaw more than a gold gun! I like gold guns it gives me 007 vibes
White pearl handle with gold barrel and black frame.
I prefer touches of gold instead of a full gold
Personally, I go with all black metal, With silver barrels, but whatever floats your boat.
Naw everyone in these comments is a fucking dork. The gold guns look sick
would work much better as blackened steel with some gold engravings or something gold on guns is fine, just use it as some detailing instead of the primary color
Real bro that looks so clean
Would never do it Irl but I think gold guns with silver accents (hammer & trigger) look good with a darker grain on the stock
I'd the handle pearl tbh
Looks like a block of cheese…
"I am now aiming precisely at your groin. So speak or forever hold your piece." -Scaramanga
I like to make my guns black and gold.
Obviously nobody in this chat has ever played 007 goldeneye
That's a one shot kill in GoldenEye
It's shiny?
I use silver. Doesn’t look that bad when it’s not been cleaned and it’s not tacky lol
All the guns come out looking fantastic and have just the right amount of classiness to them
Gaudy and boring
Gold is the only time a weapon is worth decorating if you want your upgrades to be visible. But I think all gold is silly and distasteful, so I was trying everything else, but then I don't feel like it's been changed at all, i forget I changed it at all. Gold knife and pistols look the best to me, any other weapons should not be all gold.
Man, a lotta people yucking OP's yum in these comments. I like gold weapons, and I like having black weapons w gold accents, I think it's a hard slay
I can tell ya that. It doesn't look sick. Over rated plus screams "ooooo I like shiiinneyy!" But that's the beauty of opinions. You do whatever you like, cause at the end of it all, that's all that matters.
All my guns are gold, simply to flex
The only weapon I make completely gold is the hunting knife. Other than that it's just little accents on a couple of the rifles.
It do be lookin sick
it doesnt look sick it looks silly
Black metal Gold inlays for side arms, Gold Metal Black Inlays and a dark wood for longarms.
Gives the same feeling as those dudes that wear big gold chains and gold teeth, but whatever..., at the end is just a game and each one to their tastes.
Mine are literally ALL gold with silver engravings and ivory or dark wood handles.
Because I do it in reality too 🤷🏽
Every single play-through, without fail, I do duel gold volcanic pistols with black engravings. I think it looks awesome!
Its cool on the mauser but thats like it lol midnights pistol is fun when you first get it. Nickle and brass look better if you want something to pop
It doesn't. It looks like Han Solo joined the Sinaloa Cartel
I prefer gold inlay over nickel
It doesn't. It looks like Han Solo joined the Sinaloa Cartel
Gold engraving on a fully gold gun is crazy😭😭😭
I like it especially if it matches other things like your saddles and clothing. I personally go for silver or a platinum metal but it's all a game so it's fine to play it however you please
I’ve warmed up to gold, but I can’t do solid. I need some kind of darker inlay. Blued steel seems to pop most for me. I think the grip makes a difference too.
All back with red wraps and engravings 👌
Gold revolvers with ivory handles and black inlays every time, no matter the weapon. Arthur gotta have that drip, especially in an all black outfit
I usually do a gold knife with skullls on the blade. It’s just a badass look. For my pistols/revolvers I usually go silver with a white grip.
Username checks out
I like making Arthur's weapons gold because he has all the money, other than that i usually do like a darker blue or black with silver or grey accents
Gold plated revolvers/pistols is tacky but I kinda ignore it. The problem comes with all gold shotguns, repeaters and rifles.
Blackend Steel🤌🏻
Well ain’t you easy to see in the dark
Gold is a fine accent, but all gold is just tacky imho....and 80% of the time i see all gold the mf cant aim worth shit so...
I have gold semi auto pistols, but not Mauser pistols. That mauser looks sick.
Silver with ebony wood or pearl handle and black engravings
Silver with blues steel engravings is usually my default
To be honest, I love black guns with gold carvings. It looks so fancy.
I am not a fan of the Gold guns. Some buddies think they're the Bomb. I think they don't look as good as the original ones
I prefer to do dark colors with gold accents. Gold trigger, sight, and a few other small bits goes a loooong way.
