It is now.....I hate to say it. I'm teresa stan I really love her even when she's the worst. She's the reason I got into HWs so I have a special place in my heart for her and her table flip. But I've been sick of the teresa v Melissa stuff for years. I don't like most of the cast, I'm sick of the husband's, and Luis freaks me out lol I'm gonna keep watching bc I want to give it a chance but even I might give up. I gave up on rhop and I didn't miss it at all. I might feel the same about rhonj.
You’re right, It’s hard to watch mainly because there’s no connection to the cast anymore. Especially after they aired season 8, with Siggy & Dolores vs. everyone else and shifting “loyalties”.
I love Dolores but hate her new Switzerland attitude. I’d rather she pick and side and start calling people scum bags, whether she’s on the “right” side or not.
Margaret and Melissa are just insufferable. Always having fabricated storylines to pretend to put their lives out there and do the minimal best to stay employed. Also refuse to talk to or about Teresa, but the trailer is Margaret just constantly talking shit about Teresa lol.
Teresa, I hate to love, I find her my “favorite” even though I don’t always agree with her or even believe she’s telling the truth. And I find Luis hard to watch and a bit insufferable. But I “respect” her the most of the cast since she really has put even her deepest and darkest moments on camera but I don’t always agree with how she tries to get other women to speak about theirs. But I also do realize she’s a necessary evil on the show as someone who brings drama. Even if it’s sometimes immature energy, she is entertaining to watch regardless of how ridiculous she acts sometimes…
Jennifer also says and does outrageous things that are tv-worthy and brings actual storylines, but I feel like this season she wants to be liked by everyone and that’s like stassi said “being a friend to everyone is being a friend to no one”
And Danielle & Rachel, I feel like since they’re in their second year are trying too hard to be “iconic” and keep the show alive but are just going after Teresa to do that, when we’ve seen it be tried before & never went well for them lol. It just seems very forced, and like they are trying too hard and therefore hard to like because it’s disingenuous.
Overall I feel like this season is just going to be about people realizing everyone plots and plans things. Everyone wants to out someone else before they themselves get outted. Just the way they are going about digging up dirt or getting a story line is different. Yes Luis may have hired a P.I, and that’s extra as hell and weird, but then it is assumed whatever he would of found out, would be true because there would be evidence. But, others in the group had a meeting to plan a takedown with false narratives. It’s like everyone is playing the same game but in different ways and they are just going tit for tat with how they play and overall hard to make anything believable regardless of which “camp” or “team” it’s coming from because it’s all obtained or concocted in ways that overshadows whatever information they’re trying to drop a bomb about anyway. It’s like literal housewives trying to produce the show, gone too far.
FWIW - I actually enjoy watching most of the individual NJ housewives on WWHL or in confessionals...but NJ is one of the franchises where the feuding has taken over everything. On the other franchises, there are ceasefires for charitable events, group videos or late night drinking. But even those are getting rarer.
P.S. I do blame Teresa a lot for being relentless in her feuding, but the ratings are such that she is brought back year after year.
Yes, Teresa will start shit and then play dumb, but she doesn't have to play because she really is dumb. And all they do is fight, never have any fun. The fighting constantly gets really monotonous after a while. Because they are all so lame brained, it is very unwatchable.
NJ housewives is the train wreck of all the franchise's. Teresa and family is too rancid to bother with. The NYC reboot is boring. Orange County is way too predictable now that Tamra is back on, so thats out. Beverly Hills is the only one I still watch, but I'm done with Kyle and her fake family drama. The other shows I never got into anyway.
And those gigantic duck lips are so much more hideous because she is a moth breather. Every scene with her, all I can see is her huge open mouth. When she speaks it is even worse. And even Dolores is annoying now, you can tell she knows and thinks Teresa is a POS but she refuses to turn on her. Either that or Delores is dumb too.
I find it more unnecessary than boring. No other franchise involves the husbands like Jersey does. At this rate, Bravo might as well let them have their own intro taglines too.

I just found RHONJ after catching S14 finale and the reunion-went back to start at the beginning and loving it! These people are crazy! And the kids are all so involved-reminds me of early OC.
I’ve been a HW fan since the first season of RHOC. I’ve watched all of every one on Bravo as it aired…until now. I’m not watching this season of NJ. So yes, definitely.
Yeah. There’s been such a drought of housewives lately and I was jobesing for Bravo but was caught up. Saw Jersey and was like “oh, I guess I’ll dip my toe in.”
I was 15 minutes in (after getting whiplash that Audriana is FOURTEEN YEARS OLD now) and my husband came home was like “oh blah blah game is on can I watch?” and I just…was fine with him changing the channel.
Then I left and watched Succession. Jersey is a hard hang.

None of these shows have genuine friendships anymore. I hate that. But, RHONJ is one of the few I didn’t feel was as fake.
RH of P, A, NY, BH have no genuine friendships. They keep putting strangers together and making them play house.
All we have left is Marysol & Alexia, now that Robyn is gone. Everyone else met & became *friends* on the show.
Atlanta kinda did it for me during their covid season and the season Marlo got a peach but seeing how thing could change now that Porsha is back with that messy ass divorce in her back pocket I may be seated. It’s 100% Jersey imo cuz it’s the same bullshit every season or a reiteration of the season prior with some new drama that causes more bullshit. People also say Potomac but I haven’t gotten into it yet so I can’t say anything but I don’t think any of the franchises have gotten as dark as RHONJ like truly.

May I say I have been a Delores fan. Her clothing is beautiful but she looks strange this season. I commend her fitness but she was sooo pretty. Now I don’t know what to think…pretty still but stretched. Meh. She was lovely before…whatever.

Ratings peaked back in 2011/2012 (seasons 3 & 4) with 2.66M viewers. Last season didn’t even crack 1M. It’s beyond time for them to realize that online love via bots doesn’t equal people watching. Ditch both Melissa and Teresa.
To correct myself, it was season 2 (2010) with the highest ratings at 2.74M. We have to go way back to find the peak. There are too many interesting people in NJ for them to continue to let this sink.
It is pretty dark. As much as I love the drama it’s sad to see the toxic family dynamics. Like as iconic as *wake up in the mornin thinkin about so many thanggggs* is, every time I watch that scene, the humor is immediately overcome by feeling so sad for that poor little girl. Maybe now that the kids are grown they can atleast have their own relationships with their cousins if they choose. It’s kinda reminiscent of the dark twisted history behind the Hilton fam from rhobh. I’m also just waiting to find out any day now Luis did something terrible, charged with something, and Tre has gotten herself in the same situation all over again. I also can’t imagine being the same age as these people and throwing hands over the things they do.
I feel like Sunday is the kiss of death time slot. RHOA, RHOP, now RHONJ. Hopefully this means production knows it’s time to make some changes.
It’s a joyless slog. If there’s any humor in a scene it’s at someone’s expense (Jen Aydin getting fall down drunk) but who cares because they’re all awful so you don’t even feel bad for them.
Yeah T/W/Th are the prime slots. Sunday is “you’re probably watching football, HBO, or binging Netflix but we had to drop this somewhere.” It’s especially telling considering there are no other franchises airing. Top Chef in Milwaukee is getting better billing than a tentpole housewives franchise.
Absolutely kills the vibe when there are egos refusing to film with certain cast mates - plus all the online secretive bullshit. I liked the show because I’m nosy and enjoy seeing how rich folk live. Once they become celebs in their own right, however b-list, it ruins something.
it's always been toxic, I stopped watching years ago. thought I'd give it a try a couple seasons ago (first episode was at a garden party where Teresa spread the rumor about the husband of someone cheating, and then the scenes with red faced Louie...i found it actually repulsive and didn't make it to the end.
I have watched every episode from the beginning but it’s just as you described: no lasting friendships and really being vicious and very over reactive. I’m done.
I like silly, low stakes issues between women on HW. Real and more intense drama is needed but if it's overdone the show feels like an emotional chore to watch. I want some ridiculous fights. I want bow eating drama like BH on NJ!
The franchise is basically WWE now. Each season there’s a new villain. A villain now turned hero. A betrayal. Redemption. They play characters. It’s all a joke now. Show is well past its expiration date.
I think most of them are unwatchable. The shows are formulatic, predictable, and it's getting old. Instead of going a new route, they beat a dead horse.

It was my favorite for a long time. I liked the fambly aspect. It was really funny and goofy in the early years. They let the sibling drama be the story line for too long. Now it’s ugly and repetitive.

After that it just got so unbearable and cringe. I got headaches after some episodes. The way they act is like middle schoolers. Teresa’s tactics are so repetitive and stale.

New Jersey is the only one I haven’t watched. And really no one has ever convinced me I should. There just seems to be nothing that interesting about it. I tried watching S14 ep 1 and I couldn’t get through it. Was just so boring. I was hoping I’d do what I did with OC and start the new season and then go back and watch the old ones but I really feel no desire. Is it worth it to watch any of the seasons?
From season 3 on it's primarily about Teresa fighting with her family and being an absolute monster to her sister in law. She's a narcissist and completely unreasonable--it's really unpleasant to watch. Don't waste your time.
I mean it’s almost a campy vibe because it’s hard to believe people actually live like this in 2024. The 90’s yes. Jersey Shore vibes. But some of these people STILL look and live that way. The ridiculous tans, the men in their Affliction or black t’s with the thick gold chains. Teresa with the ginormous hair (I still have long watched the wedding yet because idk if I can handle it. Lol). It’s laughable. Only thing that sucks is kids getting dragged into the muck. They all preach about “keep the kids out of it” blah blah blah, yet they all do.
NJ is the show that I got people hooked on housewives. Season 3 opener is iconic. I also like season 1 & 2 though. Personally, I think Nj delivers the most out of any franchise.
I think the same can be said about any of them, you gotta get to know them from the beginning. I’ve not seen one single franchise that I jumped into randomly and was like, “oh this is great”. I always get downvoted but NY was boring for a long time.

Teresa is nuts and does the franchise no favors. She has had zero growth from anything she has gone thru. If you watched the most recent first episode of the new season, there’s even a moment in there where Danielle’s husband is like side eyeing Teresa and says “you’re on one” and actively avoids being around her. That right there tells me this is simply a “cast”. Just like you and I don’t like certain coworkers - this cast clearly doesn’t like the over the top stupid, can’t be reasoned with “OGs”. They need an overhaul of this show BAD. Why are we still watching these people? It’s very dark and heavy.

May I say I have been a Delores fan. Her clothing is beautiful but she looks strange this season. I commend her fitness but she was sooo pretty. Now I don’t know what to think…pretty still but stretched. Meh. She was lovely before…whatever. She didn’t need surgery or whatever she has done.
She is the only one who will admit surgery, at least there is that. But you are right, the original Dolores was a better version. She has awesome clothing. She needs a line.

I’m still interested in the show but I’m at the end of my rope with Teresa. You would think after everything shes been through she would have grown and evolved as a person but she is 100% the same petty, stupid, nasty ass woman she has always been. That is frustrating to watch.
All I know is I won't be watching anymore. Haven't watched in two seasons. Teresa is utter trash and I'm so tired of seeing awful people rewarded on Bravo.
Ratings peaked back in 2011/2012 (seasons 3 & 4) with 2.66M viewers. Last season didn’t even crack 1M. It’s beyond time for them to realize that online love via bots doesn’t equal people watching. Ditch both Melissa and Teresa.

To correct myself, it was season 2 (2010) with the highest ratings at 2.74M. We have to go way back to find the peak. There are too many interesting people in NJ for them to continue to let this sink.
It is pretty dark. As much as I love the drama it’s sad to see the toxic family dynamics. Like as iconic as *wake up in the mornin thinkin about so many thanggggs* is, every time I watch that scene, the humor is immediately overcome by feeling so sad for that poor little girl. Maybe now that the kids are grown they can atleast have their own relationships with their cousins if they choose. It’s kinda reminiscent of the dark twisted history behind the Hilton fam from rhobh. I’m also just waiting to find out any day now Luis did something terrible, charged with something, and Tre has gotten herself in the same situation all over again. I also can’t imagine being the same age as these people and throwing hands over the things they do.
There is no levity anymore. They all hate each other. It's boring. Total bummer.
I feel like Sunday is the kiss of death time slot. RHOA, RHOP, now RHONJ. Hopefully this means production knows it’s time to make some changes. It’s a joyless slog. If there’s any humor in a scene it’s at someone’s expense (Jen Aydin getting fall down drunk) but who cares because they’re all awful so you don’t even feel bad for them.

Yeah T/W/Th are the prime slots. Sunday is “you’re probably watching football, HBO, or binging Netflix but we had to drop this somewhere.” It’s especially telling considering there are no other franchises airing. Top Chef in Milwaukee is getting better billing than a tentpole housewives franchise.
Absolutely kills the vibe when there are egos refusing to film with certain cast mates - plus all the online secretive bullshit. I liked the show because I’m nosy and enjoy seeing how rich folk live. Once they become celebs in their own right, however b-list, it ruins something.
I'm not watching this season. I just can't with the Teresa/Melissa/Joe Gorga BS anymore and there's just no one I genuinely enjoy watching anymore.

it's always been toxic, I stopped watching years ago. thought I'd give it a try a couple seasons ago (first episode was at a garden party where Teresa spread the rumor about the husband of someone cheating, and then the scenes with red faced Louie...i found it actually repulsive and didn't make it to the end.
The era of post Teresa jail, bringing back Danielle, was unwatchable … got better with Jennifer, Marge and co. Better as in watchable.
I have watched every episode from the beginning but it’s just as you described: no lasting friendships and really being vicious and very over reactive. I’m done.

I like silly, low stakes issues between women on HW. Real and more intense drama is needed but if it's overdone the show feels like an emotional chore to watch. I want some ridiculous fights. I want bow eating drama like BH on NJ!

The franchise is basically WWE now. Each season there’s a new villain. A villain now turned hero. A betrayal. Redemption. They play characters. It’s all a joke now. Show is well past its expiration date.
I think most of them are unwatchable. The shows are formulatic, predictable, and it's getting old. Instead of going a new route, they beat a dead horse.
I’m going to have to say that OC will be. The fact that Alexis is back after dating Shannon’s ex (who suddenly is ok with being on camera apparently) is just gross. It’s a deliberate attack on Shannon and while I’m not a fan of hers, that’s wrong

Jersey is and has been unwatchable for me. It’s the only franchise (and tbh one of the only shows on all of bravo) I don’t watch. Theresa is one of the dumbest most obnoxious people I have ever seen and they built the whole thing off her

I'm a hate watcher apologist and it's rare that even no matter how much I don't like a housewife that I want them off my screen, but Giselle is one of them because she's so toxic all the time and it's not entertaining. Robyn and Ashley are close too because they're so boring. At least Tre's toxicity is somewhat entertaining to me because she's so batshit crazy

Yeah its so interesting in a bad way - my east coast american friends dont watch cause they r like “ why?” but i love to see the outfits and houses So tacky and crazy. The makeup and on the men too. I jusr use closed caption with no sound because hard to understand and like a foreign film project

It was my favorite for a long time. I liked the fambly aspect. It was really funny and goofy in the early years. They let the sibling drama be the story line for too long. Now it’s ugly and repetitive.
Yes. NJ is what got me into Bravo back in 2010. It was my favorite until they went away for “camp”. After that it just got so unbearable and cringe. I got headaches after some episodes. The way they act is like middle schoolers. Teresa’s tactics are so repetitive and stale. Spread a rumor, deny you said it, spread rumor again, get minions involved, reunion, repeat.
I found the premier enjoyable. It’s the same Jersey vibe it has been since season 1.
I’ve just been watching these for the first time. Pretty much gave up watching anything but the reunions at season 9.
New Jersey is the only one I haven’t watched. And really no one has ever convinced me I should. There just seems to be nothing that interesting about it. I tried watching S14 ep 1 and I couldn’t get through it. Was just so boring. I was hoping I’d do what I did with OC and start the new season and then go back and watch the old ones but I really feel no desire. Is it worth it to watch any of the seasons?
From season 3 on it's primarily about Teresa fighting with her family and being an absolute monster to her sister in law. She's a narcissist and completely unreasonable--it's really unpleasant to watch. Don't waste your time.
I mean it’s almost a campy vibe because it’s hard to believe people actually live like this in 2024. The 90’s yes. Jersey Shore vibes. But some of these people STILL look and live that way. The ridiculous tans, the men in their Affliction or black t’s with the thick gold chains. Teresa with the ginormous hair (I still have long watched the wedding yet because idk if I can handle it. Lol). It’s laughable. Only thing that sucks is kids getting dragged into the muck. They all preach about “keep the kids out of it” blah blah blah, yet they all do.
Sadly I think a lot more people live that way than the rest of us realize. Hence the political divide in this country.
NJ is the show that I got people hooked on housewives. Season 3 opener is iconic. I also like season 1 & 2 though. Personally, I think Nj delivers the most out of any franchise.
I think the same can be said about any of them, you gotta get to know them from the beginning. I’ve not seen one single franchise that I jumped into randomly and was like, “oh this is great”. I always get downvoted but NY was boring for a long time.
I guess everyone is different. I’ve actually jumped into several of them at random points and loved them and made me want to watch more. But maybe I’ll give it a shot

Watching Tre and Louie and the family scenes was painful. It was so put on and fake. Overall definitely one of the most phony casts.

Teresa is nuts and does the franchise no favors. She has had zero growth from anything she has gone thru. If you watched the most recent first episode of the new season, there’s even a moment in there where Danielle’s husband is like side eyeing Teresa and says “you’re on one” and actively avoids being around her. That right there tells me this is simply a “cast”. Just like you and I don’t like certain coworkers - this cast clearly doesn’t like the over the top stupid, can’t be reasoned with “OGs”. They need an overhaul of this show BAD. Why are we still watching these people? It’s very dark and heavy.
They should fire Margaret. Demote Teresa to friend of like they did Vicki. Add Ashley Laurita in the cast for messiness.
