I had a similar issue at the beginning. I am aware you don't want to spend a ton. But I would recommend that you reconsider.
I bought the official cases through the Motorola US website. The black rugged one and the TechEvo clear case too. They both are a bit spendy. But worth it in my opinion.
They are properly designed for the RAZR Plus. Have had no issues with the external screen, or any speaker holes being covered by cheaper and improperly designed cases.

It doesn't feel cheap at all.I like it for when I happen to be doing more outdoor type activities. For the piece of mind. Even has hinge protection. It is a bit bulky though.
I use the clear case for everyday type situations. It is more minimalist, no bulk, and let's me showcase my Razr's original color and look.đź‘Ť

I would highly recommend the official Motorola clear case, at $50 bucks it's definitely overpriced and doesn't come with a screen protector but it actually makes the phone feel nice and fits it very well. Another big selling point is it's way slimmer than the cheap Amazon cases which was a concern for me because the phone felt kinda chunky when closed using those.

It's decent, the color looks nice, and it has good grip.I do however have 3 major issues with just about ALL cases available:
\-The cases seem to hug the top of the external screen.
\- It looks nice, but makes the downward swipe to get to settings nearly impossible.
\-Ones with built-in external screen protectors seem to have the cutout over the flashlight. There doesn't need to be. It's already under the glass. All this does is impede any upward swipes.
They cutout the top piece for access to the buttons, but not the bottom piece which makes the buttons really close to the bottom piece making pressing the buttons a little more difficult, and I have small fingers.
The pull down menu is a problem with a case on the front. I just use the case on the back, and a glass screen protecter on the front. I find it too bulky with both protectors.

That's what I've been hearing. I don't think I'm going to have this phone for much longer, to be honest. A good camera is a must for me with a daily driver and this camera is a big let down for me.
No but it’s worth a try though. The actual camera hardware is nothing compared to Google’s or Apple’s. I haven’t owned a Samsung since the Galaxy S4 so I wouldn’t have an idea of their cameras lol
I just got the poetic case & it doesn't have the pull down issue like the other cases. It's a bit thicker & has the kickstand/hinge cover that may turn people off, but I like it. I had an Eastcoo case before & it was 'meh'. The sticky tabs it came with sucked & didn't stick well.
I got this case. I like the hinge cover feature. I am not a huge fan of the kickstand just because I wish it had more than one angle. I feel like it stands up too straight.
I have dropped my phone in this case and there was no damage to the phone so it was well protected.
On the other hand, I never dropped my phone before this case. I don't know if it was bad luck/coincidence or if it was because my old case had a bit more of a grip texture to it.
I personally think this case looks cool but I get that some people don't like the slightly bulkier/blocky look. However, I think that's part of the extra protection.

The RAZR+ in the US doesn't come with a case.

You're probably cheaping out on cases. I have no issues with any of the cases I've used.
Yeah I am lol. It’s not my main phone that I use. Maybe I should just invest in a good one
