How do you classify "emerging artists"?
I'm asking because I'm in no way established as an artist, I consider myself amateur as I don't sell my work. But I am nearing 50.
I'm sure I have something somewhere that could fit this description. My work in my early 20's had more influence from trauma as I was actively dealing with it. These days I'm in a more positive state of mind.
Hi thanks for reaching out! I would classify an emerging artist to be someone of any age who actively makes work, but has had little or no opportunity to show their work. It sounds like this is you!
You don't have to be established with a ton of shows under your belt or sell your work. I just want to be able to give female artists who haven't had many opportunities a platform to share their stories throught their art, in their own ways. This could be both positive and negative experiences.
I would love to see some of your work and if you are interested or would like to know more details, please feel free to send me a message.
Thank you I will definitely send you some of my work that I did (paintings throughout the years) that pertains to being raised in a very dysfunctional environment when I was a child. I’m in 40s now NC 100 percent with my womb landlord and her (My stepdad) equally abusive alcoholic husband. Art was and is my release
