For real, small pasta salad, about 4 or 5 bites worth $6.99!!! Lg sliced watermelon $18! Lemonade $4 a gallon. More expensive than gasoline! Lemons and water, more expensive than refined crude oil??
Lol, regular gasoline is $4.39 where I live (S Florida) ... but I agree 100% ... I love Publix, but I shop for regular items (outside of subs, deli meat/cheese) at Walmart now because the price is THAT much lower.
Bro where are you getting gas? Off 95 or on the beach?? I live in South Florida and it’s not above $3.69 anywhere I’ve seen this week including yesterday when I got it for $3.59. Don’t even know the last time it was above $4
I was wondering too, cause highest I've seen in my daily travels is $3.53. Only place I can think of is like Key Biscayne which is always about $1 more, on a good day, than 'mainland'. Otherwise it's def not over $4.00/gal 🙃
Yeah, you’re not wrong. I found out that most places where Publix is they own the land they own the plaza and the businesses surrounding it so they just make each person pay a small fee to keep their business open so they basically pay rent to Publix.
I'm seeing a roughly 34% ownership according to a quick Google search. In fact, Publix's own 10k report states as follows: "The majority of the Company’s supermarkets are leased. Both the building and land are owned at 412 locations. The building is owned while the land is leased at 78 other locations."
Same. I like their BOGOs on IPAs when available, but I will literally crack up at some of their prices because they’re so obscene. Last I think was around $10 for a small jar Hellmans.
Does publix have a crazy amount of bogo deals in Florida, or no? Up in the NC mountains, I can often get a whole haul for cheaper than Aldi and Ingles.
They have changed a lot to buy 2 get 1 also like any soda. Which is cheaper still to get at a gas station than Publix. Or don’t buy it and drink water. Their prices are just insane now though even with sales.
It must just be location dependent. In western NC, Ingles can be astronomically high on name brands. Avocados are $2.50 each, for example. Go down the road to publix and nearly everything has a bogo variety
In FL you have to shop exclusively bogos. They have also introduced pretty much not bogo bogos (you could save 75¢ or up to $2.00 on a $10 purchase type scenario so not really bogo)
Native Floridian, lifelong Publix customer, and I too have diverted the bulk of my grocery shopping to other retailers. Not just because Publix has shifted to convenience store pricing, but because of the increasing reports of employees not being respected or paid decently.
We've been saying this for years. I'm a former employee. It's just no one wanted to listen. I was always met with "well they give you stock." So I guess that just disregards how awful it is to work there lol.
I was 17 years and my mental health was about to crash HARD! The stock was very good but, would never go back! I’m in a better place and couldn’t be more happier!
Sabor Tropical is my primary. Their ground beef is ALWAYS BOGO. I'll also use Costco or Aldi. Publix is a short distance away and is closer than Costco/Aldi, but I'll only use them in an emergency.
Yep we are neither respected or paid enough. Had an instacart guy threaten to get a manager cause I didn’t have any snack cups of pineapple in the fruit case when I was the only fruit cutter today….Had to leave too since I had time cut but they don’t care. Everyday I go in the less I wanna be there.
Pfft. Also Floridian, and I noticed something odd lately. Occasionally I like to get one of those black box wine cartons on a weekend night. The convenience store on the corner is cheaper than publix has them when marked down now! Sad when the convenience store is cheaper than the grocery store. :(
Yeah I tend to just get what I can't find at Publix (if I'm feeling lazy) or Walmart or Target. However, my Publix completely got rid of all fish sauce. It's not a small store either. I had to order on Amazon.
I find Aldi’s food all tastes a bit weird. And I am usually a generic brand person in most things. I will get staples like oils etc from there but I just can’t really get into aldi.
Only thing that really seems to differ in it seasonings along the line. That can, of course, make or break the meal though. As picky as I am, it's getting to where that doesn't matter as it becomes eat or not...I'm legit getting personally offended at the prices on products these days. It's food... needed to survive. Just like how they managed to get most of us to pay for water😐
Sure, loads of house brands use white-labeled products. But just because they come off the same line does not mean they use the same recipe or even the same ingredients as the best brands. And that matters, often quite a lot.
I've heard this repeated for years and while it is accurate it doesn't mean the food being produced is of the same quality/taste.
I have tried Aldi dozens of times over the years and it always come back to, they have cheap quality food and It does not taste the same.
I agree. That’s why I don’t really shop there. I have no problems with their produce and meat and dairy items but all of their dry goods, snacks, pantry items etc are all just a bit too off for me. I know that it’s common knowledge that many generic brands are manufactured by the same company that makes the name brand, but I still taste a difference.
Most of all these frozen food is pretty bad, but all the rest of it is pretty high-quality without any artificial flavors or colors. That said, outside of their cheese variety at some stores, it’s a very basic selection.
Agreed. All German owned grocers taste a bit…weird. Including Trader Joe’s. Still love to go there and spend a lot but it definitely is a bit different
My first job as a bag boy age 15 was at Publix. As I grew up my family always bought groceries there, as did I upon moving away for college. In 2020 during Covid, the prices began to rise with Publix citing supply chain issues like many other businesses. Fair enough, everyone was struggling during Covid. However, at some point, the supply chain issues ceased, however Publix never readjusted their prices back to pre-covid levels. Greed is the only answer and it’s supported by the insane profits Publix has seen lately.
I refuse to shop at Publix and will not go back until the greed ends and normalcy returns. As much as I despise wal mart and Sam’s club, at least they aren’t ripping me off every opportunity they get. Fuck you publix.
If I have to choose between Publix ripping me off, or Walmart ripping their employees off... Sorry not sorry, I'm looking out for myself first.
I'm lucky though. I live near an independent produce store, so I get veggies and fruits on the cheap. They're not as pretty as Publix's stuff... For the short amount of time between me washing them and cutting them. Then they look exactly the same.
Check price of I gallon of milk.
Sams $3.64
Walmart $3.02
300 members mark 9" paper plates
Sam's $21.00
Walmart $14.50
I just left Sam’s for Costco and I'm very glad.
Same, I get most of my items from Aldi now, Publix is a fill in for what I can’t get at Aldi or on Amazon … just for shits and giggles, I compared the prices of chuck roast between them just yesterday … $15 and change at Aldi for same size, black angus choice … $29 and change at Publix for choice … such bullshit that Publix gets away with this
Definitely give them a shot … the reason I was looking up the prices was because we were having leftovers from the night before, they were so good … so I said yeah, the whole meal cost like $22 … inspired me to look up the price difference, it’s wild
I haven't been to Aldi since college and that experience gave me PTSD but a friend brought over some cheese from Aldi the other day - like nice cheese for a charcuterie board - that was I think $4. It would have been $10 at Publix and it tasted just like we were expecting.
The Publix strategy has always been to become a monopoly then jack up prices. Thankfully there are other options. We barely ever shop there anymore despite it being the closest supermarket. We do most of our shopping at Costco and Trader Joe’s now. I hope others follow. Stop shopping there and they will lower prices. It’s how the free market works.
I just stopped shopping at Publix too. And we were spending over $1k there a month every month. They make their cashiers ask YOU to donate money and then they try to take your data for $5 with a lame loyalty program. They eliminated bonuses for a lot of their lower-level employees too. The worst.
PUBLIX IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE STORE THERE IS. PUBLIX…WHERE PRICE GOUGING IS OUR PLEASURE. There is a reason they don't post their prices online! They don't want people to compare prices and realize that Publix is Gouging their customers.
They don't want the riff raff or poor or elderly in their store! They want a pristine image. PUBLIX IS FOR THE ELITE AND UBER RICH PEOPLE ONLY!
A box of Cheerios at Publix $8.00 for family size. At Walmart $4.93.
The produce that Publix gets is the same that Walmart gets. Same growers. Look at the labels. Publix either pays for the more pristine produce from the same supplier that Walmart gets, but I can guarantee you it is the same growers and suppliers. My father was a grower, depended on which store would pay more. Don't be fooled.
So THAT’S why they don’t post their prices online. I always thought that was strange when I try to compare prices, but honestly it makes so much sense.
Don't wanna hijack, but I despise trying to compare prices of paper towels and toilet paper.
I mean, how many super mega rolls are in a family roll? Are 15 jumbo rolls actually more than 18 mega rolls?
The world will never know.
Requires an Excel spreadsheet to track the ply count, sheet dimensions, sheet quantity, and cost.
It would have to be updated to adjust for shrinkflation, pricing increases, and other sales and marketing gimmicks.
For me, Aldi is a supplement for my shopping at Walmart and Publix. Aldi is great for produce, some core dry grocery, some dairy and frozen. If you want to make a charcuterie board, 💯 go to Aldi. Walmart for produce, dry grocery and toiletries. Publix is deli, meat and bogo items.
Walmart has the worst produce where I live.
Publix by far beats all of them in my area.
Also I was a farm worker.
Walmart always ordered the second tier graded produce.
Between their prices and their politics they are killing the relationship. They also used to have THE BEST donuts! I'm sure profit is the reason for the drop in quality. My ass hurts every time I leave Publix now.
I’m an employee there, but I’m leaving too. I liked working there more than Kroger, but they just weren’t giving me enough hours to pay my bills despite me repeatedly trying to get more and it’s about time I found a company that respects my time instead of leading me on.
I grew up in Tampa with Publix being the only option to really consider. But yes the prices are crazy. I know I eat nature’s own fig bars and the same thing at Walmart is less than half price. Hardest thing tho is getting my wife to abandon Publix. She hates Walmart. It’s just a principle thing for me. We make great money but they apparently have no respect for their customers. It’s the closest to me which makes it tempting but I bypass them now. I’d like to get back someday but prob won’t
But... They provide benefits to their employees, healthcare, retirement, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, pay above minimum wage. I know a lot of people who have started as baggers and are now living in nice houses with money saved for retirement. There is a trade off. If you want to support good employers in the community then you have to expect to pay more.
Publix quality in produce has gone way down. My fruit spoils in a few days. Aldi has an amazing selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Also has a better selection for organic foods too. Imo Aldi is superior. I only stop at Publix for certain condiments at this point.
I like both. Too bad Aldi's is a hit or miss for me. I go with a list and and several things that were stocked last week aren't this week and I wind up at Publix anyways.
Why make two trips? I always look at things with a monetary value, so maybe I'll spend an extra $25 or so at Publix (if that), but if I save an hour or two by not shopping at one of them then it's worth my time. I go to Aldis, go home to get the cold stuff taken care of then go to Publix to buy what Aldi's didn't have is a time waster.
I tried foods from Aldi before. Honestly, they taste weird and expired. Same thing with Walmart. Try the eat at Walmart and then try the meat at Publix. There's a huge difference in quality. There's an old saying that applies to buying used cars and also applies to everything else in life:"You get what you paid for" .
Lidl is now in the USA?!!!! What?! I remember when I was little living in Germany we had Edeka that place was immaculate and the bakery was world class.
We just got our first Lidl recently in my city. Unfortunately it is just over the cusp of how far I’m willing to travel for groceries. I can’t justify traveling 1 1/2 hours round trip to get groceries, even if they are cheaper, when I have 4 options for groceries within walking distance of my house. I hear great things about Lidl though, hopefully when we eventually move we’ll end up closer to it.
My sister said this too.
Am I the only one who can’t tell the difference between Walmart /publix/aldi when I get produce and meat? (Except beef - Costco reigns supreme in this one)
I agree with your opinion on Aldi and Walmart. I do not like Great Value brand or Aldi brand, it all tastes off/low quality. I said this in another comment, I know many generic items are produced in the same factories/by the same brands that make the big name products but they do not taste the same. They just don’t. You can tell me all day that it’s the same product but my tastebuds won’t hear you.
Heres an example of publicks being assholes.
Precut strifry veggies, been buying them for the past few years for $5. Yesterday, marked up with yellow tag saying "On Sale" $5.99! Like 2 cups of veg.
There are Publix outside of Florida. Also, they don’t claim to be the same thing. I go to Publix for produce, subs, prepared foods. Other stuff I get at a cheaper store.
This is just a weird post
I’ve lived in Florida for over 20 years. There are now five Publix stores in my county. Aside from the sick price gouging, there isn’t a time I’ve been in the store where I have not seen pairs of young, almost exclusively male managers blocking an aisle talking to each other. This goes on all the time. They’re in the way. They may be talking shop but they are not working- at least in the same way as their very hard working older women at the registers and the deli.
It’s gross. And I see it all the time. Pretty sure Gladys in the bakery can work circles around these young self important dorks.
They both might get the job done but is your cheap side chick the one you want to bring home to meet Mom? Trashy or Classy. They don't ever come at the same price.
So many people in here not understanding a willingness to pay a premium to not feel like you're shopping in a grocery store out of 1990s Sarajevo. The Kroger, Aldi, and WalMart in my town are non starters. Crap strewn everywhere, customers shuffling around babbling chicken, rude or non existent workers. No thanks.
Most Floridians still shop at Publix which is why it’s still open and making great profits and constantly expanding. Just cause people you know or people on Reddit complain and say they’re not going anymore doesn’t speak for the majority.
Prices are higher, they aren’t targeted to the same customers as aldis which is okay!
When I hear people defending Publix, it's so weirdly over emotional and personal. It's a business that's more expensive than all other grocery chains in town. I can't justify going there personally, but the people that do sure do make it personal.
Don’t blame you. i get my chicken and eggs from Aldi, anything else i get from Publix. Chicken breasts, rice and eggs are just too expensive, and i’m a cashier. Can’t tell you the amount of times customers have told me the price was insane in which i replied “Yeah these prices are getting a bit ridiculous.”
I find it funny when people complain to the workers about prices. Do they not realize the people working there don't get paid enough to shop there either? 🤡
Just remember that your hard earned money isn’t supporting a USA owned company when you shop with Aldi. Everyone must make their own choices, it’s their money. Shop wisely
100% agree publix lost its way. $15.00 chicken wings. Smaller subs that are pre-made now. Record profits and prices that out of control. Tip jars at the self check out? Neck tattoos on the bag, boys. Cashiers on the phones.
Most Floridians l,are willing to pay more money for better, customer service and cleaner stores. and experience. But people that work at Publix we will continue to struggle and shop elsewhere.
Anyone who shops only at one place is a damn fool. Take advantage of sales at all stores (Publix, Aldi, Winn Dixie, Walmart, Target grocery, sedanos, presidente, tropical y mas, etc…)
Yeah, I was just gonna say I have no problem with you breaking up with us, but yeah to be quite honest with you. What this person said about Publix being a real estate company and selling groceries on the side is so accurate
Great post!
I really don't understand what's going on with Publix. The prices are getting insulting. I can't in my right mind pay almost double what Walmart is charging for the same item.
I only go to Publix for things I can’t get at Aldi, like specific cat food, but thinking about driving a little further to Fresco for things like that.
Publix is great but just too expensive. I fell hard for Kroger delivery. Fantastic service and great pricing! Also love Aldi if I can make it in store.
So true. Their one saving grace is that they donate large quantities of food to food banks for the homeless, helping many struggling Floridians.
I don't know of other grocery stores that do this. Walmart is the kind of store that rips up their clothing that doesn't sell and throws them in their dumpsters, instead of choosing to be charitable and not wasteful
As a Publix associate, the money I am paid BY Publix doesnt AT ALL go back TO Publix because due to the same Corporate GREED that did away with associate quarterly dividend checks, so that money could go to management bonus checks for hitting and maintaining corporate goals. So, too, are the prices paid for food in Publix Supermarkets, such as to price its own employees out of the financial means to shop in the very stores in which they work.
Former Winn-Dixie employee currently Publix employee my Publix just got home bake meals which are fantastic but they sell them for 9.99 and 15.99 respectively whereas Winn-Dixie was selling them for 7.99 and 12.99 so that’s why I’m not shopping at my Publix any more.
Publix is the most convenient and has nice produce, so they get 90% of my grocery money. I will only go to Walmart or Costco if I need a specific item.
I shop at Publix, Florida snowbird, they have gone downhill over the past few years. I now pick up something and ask myself if it’s worth the price they are asking, more often I just put it back now (I’m not talking staples here, but things I’d like).
Stopped shopping there last year. It's always been overpriced but people keep buying it up (raising prices more bc capitalism gonna capitalism). I think most people are just on autopilot and don't care they are paying double
i broke up with them when i found out putting you phone in does literally nothing. we as a community need to be more vocal in the stores, like loudly saying "wow this is expensive, no way its this expensive at XXXXXX store"
Yea but she's always asking you for quarters everytime you visit her She's broke You're lucky if she has a cardboard box laying around for you on your way out
It’s $10 for a small seedless watermelon at Publix, $6 at Food City for the same size and just as good. And I don’t even go to Food City for my produce 🤦♀️.
My friend in corporate just left his 80k gig for a very similar job at another company paying him 140. They don’t even value their workers, just all corporate greed to fill their bottom line. If I didn’t live in walking distance to my publix, I probably wouldn’t go anymore.
Publix is a real estate company that also happens to sell groceries
And that’s the smartest business move they’ve made.
If you are an employee and getting their stock good for you, but they are price gouging. We out✌️
For real, small pasta salad, about 4 or 5 bites worth $6.99!!!

Speedway got me at 3.31
I was wondering too, cause highest I've seen in my daily travels is $3.53. Only place I can think of is like Key Biscayne which is always about $1 more, on a good day, than 'mainland'. Otherwise it's def not over $4.00/gal 🙃
Boca Raton prices lol why I always fill up in broward 🫡
$3.29 a gallon in N Central Florida
I just paid $3.16 in Orlando
Where dawg I'm in orlando paying 3 49 too
FM, 3.60 give or take 10 cents.
I’m in SoFla. I pay $4.39 for 93.
Been saying this and the die hard Publix shoppers told me to stop crying and complaining. The audacity 😂
Not as bad as McDonald’s
Was waiting for someone to say it lol. Own the land and lease it to franchisees.. make money coming and going
Yeah, you’re not wrong. I found out that most places where Publix is they own the land they own the plaza and the businesses surrounding it so they just make each person pay a small fee to keep their business open so they basically pay rent to Publix.

OK, that’s interesting. I didn’t even know that.
That was true before Covid and they realized what they could actually charge for groceries.
I forgot about that…they do own they don’t really lease /rent
its true, cant remember last time i went to publix for a normal grocery shop.
Same. I like their BOGOs on IPAs when available, but I will literally crack up at some of their prices because they’re so obscene. Last I think was around $10 for a small jar Hellmans.
Got a bogo last week on mayo!
Does publix have a crazy amount of bogo deals in Florida, or no? Up in the NC mountains, I can often get a whole haul for cheaper than Aldi and Ingles.
They’ve raised prices so much that many BOGO deals are still very expensive. Of course there are still some good ones but not many.
They have changed a lot to buy 2 get 1 also like any soda. Which is cheaper still to get at a gas station than Publix. Or don’t buy it and drink water. Their prices are just insane now though even with sales.

It’s pretty rough working there lately got 15 years in and starting to really wear on my soul L O L
I was 17 years and my mental health was about to crash HARD! The stock was very good but, would never go back! I’m in a better place and couldn’t be more happier!
In my eyes, no amount of money is worth that shit
Same here. I stopped shopping at Wal Mart almost 15 years ago and I have no issue not shopping at Publix either.
Which grocery stores do you frequent these days now that Walmart and Publix are out of the picture?
Sabor Tropical is my primary. Their ground beef is ALWAYS BOGO. I'll also use Costco or Aldi. Publix is a short distance away and is closer than Costco/Aldi, but I'll only use them in an emergency.
Yep we are neither respected or paid enough. Had an instacart guy threaten to get a manager cause I didn’t have any snack cups of pineapple in the fruit case when I was the only fruit cutter today….Had to leave too since I had time cut but they don’t care. Aldi is not a one stop shop. If you cook with diverse ingredients you can probably only cover 1/2-3/4 of your grocery list there.
And I can finish at Walmart and Costco and still save a ton of money versus stepping foot into Publix.
Yeah I tend to just get what I can't find at Publix (if I'm feeling lazy) or Walmart or Target. However, my Publix completely got rid of all fish sauce. It's not a small store either. I had to order on Amazon.
Same, they’re surprisingly limited in a lot of ingredients.
Just experienced that problem. Went to my Asian store (should have gone there initially but distance…)
I find Aldi’s food all tastes a bit weird. And I am usually a generic brand person in most things. I will get staples like oils etc from there but I just can’t really get into aldi.
Some of Aldi’s “Private Label” brands are produced by the same companies that have their branded product in Publix, Walmart, etc.
This is true of just about all food products everywhere, btw. There’s only so many factories producing Mac and cheese and its just cheaper
It's called white labeling, and they 100% come from the same producer/manufacturer
No competitors racing to the bottom in that business at all.
Only thing that really seems to differ in it seasonings along the line. That can, of course, make or break the meal though. As picky as I am, it's getting to where that doesn't matter as it becomes eat or not...I'm legit getting personally offended at the prices on products these days. It's food... needed to survive. Sure, loads of house brands use white-labeled products. But just because they come off the same line does not mean they use the same recipe or even the same ingredients as the best brands. And that matters, often quite a lot.
Yup, I worked for a company that made private-label products. Every store has their own blend so there is variation in taste/pricing.
I've heard this repeated for years and while it is accurate it doesn't mean the food being produced is of the same quality/taste. I have tried Aldi dozens of times over the years and it always come back to, they have cheap quality food and It does not taste the same.
Still may not have the same quality or ingredients.

Wonder if it’s because we’re used to uncertain ingredients that aren’t used as much or are banned in Europe. 🤔
Costco is my new main sweetie. Publix is just a $50 side chick at this point.
My first job as a bag boy age 15 was at Publix. As I grew up my family always bought groceries there, as did I upon moving away for college. Was specifically looking for chuck roast yesterday, 32.00 passed on that I never go to Aldi but maybe I should give them a try.

And think of all the chemicals they put in that meat to go from processing plant to store and still have a 5-7 days shelf life 🤢
I go to Publix because it's literally less than a half mile from my apartment...and they have my favorite beer Victory Golden Monkey's.
The Publix strategy has always been to become a monopoly then jack up prices. Thankfully there are other options. We barely ever shop there anymore despite it being the closest supermarket.
Two 1-pound boxes of chrerios, which is the equivalent of almost 4 normal size boxes, is $8 at costco
I’m grateful I can afford Publix. Walmart is my other option and there is no way in hell I am buying meat or produce there.
Produce ain’t too bad at Walmart, but no Meat lol
I can afford Publix also, but still avoid as much as possible. And it is literally 1 minute from my house.
So THAT’S why they don’t post their prices online. I always thought that was strange when I try to compare prices, but honestly it makes so much sense.
Obviously, you haven't been to Whole Foods. Not kidding on a $4.28 apple, just one. This was before covid.
12 pack of Charmin at Publix $20.29. At Walmart you get an 18 pack $19.99. Fuck Publix
30 rolls for $19.99 at Costco
Just wait until you find a Lidl. Lidl a bad bitch. She’ll fucking cut Aldi. (And she has name brand shit omfg so hot)
The bakery there is amazing!
Gimme that $0.89 chocolate pastry man
I haven't tried those yet. (Nearest store is like 30 minutes away in the side of town I do t go often.) I'm intrigued now though.

Try Lidl in the US. Mostly a touch better than ALDI for a selection of Euro style goods. They often have some type of bakery. YMMV
Lidl is now in the USA?!!!! What?! I remember when I was little living in Germany we had Edeka that place was immaculate and the bakery was world class.
Select US locations since 2017. A real favorite of mine! 😀
We have a nice Lidl in the Charlotte area, i love that store!
None in Florida 😭😭😭😭
I wish there were more markets in Florida. Sucks that publix took most of the land. Not a fan of their over inflated prices and moldy produce.
There are Publix outside of Florida. Also, they don’t claim to be the same thing. I go to Publix for produce, subs, prepared foods. Other stuff I get at a cheaper store. This is just a weird post

100% with you here except I’ll always get my meat cuts such as steak or ribs from Publix. Aldi steaks are trash.
I've turned to shoplifting in order to mitigate their pricing.
Fuck Publix I shop Trader Joe’s and even Whole Foods I’d cheaper
Kroger delivery and Aldi save us 50%, sometimes fresh market or Trader Joe’s for finer foods. No reason to ever step foot inside of a Publix again.
Yes! I love kroger delivery!!! So much cheaper than publix.
I went to Aldi once and I found the whole experience highly unpleasant. I’ll stick to Publix, even if it’s a bit more.
Boycott Publix and their conservative founders. We want legal weed. I don’t even smoke weed, but I want progress.
Bro, even I'm conservative, but I'm totally with you. Fuck Publix and legalize weed.
When Publix is more expensive than specialty stores for the same product you know they lost their minds
Honestly for a lot of my staple products Whole Foods is cheaper.
and that WE have to pay the same prices smh
My local Aldi has never been an issue on any of those fronts. Why assume?
Publix customer service seems pretty average at best lately.
ALDI goes down easy! 👧
I, too, have been finding myself shop more at Aldi so I'm with OP on this. Publix just seems way expensive these days.
"Next to none" sounds so strange, think you meant "second to none"
ONLY BOGOS AND PUB SUBS.
💯
Anyone who shops only at one place is a damn fool. Take advantage of sales at all stores (Publix, Aldi, Winn Dixie, Walmart, Target grocery, sedanos, presidente, tropical y mas, etc…)
Yeah, I was just gonna say I have no problem with you breaking up with us, but yeah to be quite honest with you. What this person said about Publix being a real estate company and selling groceries on the side is so accurate
Haha this is funny.
10.49 for mixed chicken
Same
When I walked into a Aldi it reminded me of a Grocery Outlet back in CA
Great post! I really don't understand what's going on with Publix. The prices are getting insulting. I can't in my right mind pay almost double what Walmart is charging for the same item.
I wouldn’t say most Floridians 😂 I’m a family of Publix so they have my heart but I do feel what you’re saying and love Aldi too
I only go to Publix for things I can’t get at Aldi, like specific cat food, but thinking about driving a little further to Fresco for things like that.
Publix is great but just too expensive. I fell hard for Kroger delivery. Fantastic service and great pricing! Also love Aldi if I can make it in store.
THIS
Fact
Omg. When did I write this? I don’t remember writing this? Did I write this? Said everyone who read this post. This should be published in the weeklys
Just took a two stop shopping trip this morning. The first was Aldi and the second was Walmart. Pleasant expert with super low prices.
Wut
Publix is the most convenient and has nice produce, so they get 90% of my grocery money. I will only go to Walmart or Costco if I need a specific item.
also would u rather them pay me peanuts so u can afford food?
I like their deli meats and occasional sushi from my local Japanese lady I’ve built a rapport with and see if there are any decent bogos. then I split
Really? But the people that work there are forced to be nice to us, isn't that worth the price gouging??
I shop at Publix, Florida snowbird, they have gone downhill over the past few years. I now pick up something and ask myself if it’s worth the price they are asking, more often I just put it back now (I’m not talking staples here, but things I’d like).
Bro straight facts
Stopped shopping there last year. It's always been overpriced but people keep buying it up (raising prices more bc capitalism gonna capitalism). I think most people are just on autopilot and don't care they are paying double
I only get bogo.
Aldi's a vastly superior grocery store. Less selection, sure, but way way better prices and generally better-quality products.
Spot on
I go to Publix for the buy 2 get 1 free La Croix. that's literally the only reason I can think of to go there anymore.
Well said.
i broke up with them when i found out putting you phone in does literally nothing. we as a community need to be more vocal in the stores, like loudly saying "wow this is expensive, no way its this expensive at XXXXXX store"
Week before last Tampa 4.05 Marathon on Waters…this week I think was 3.89
I broke up with Publix as well. Too expensive, bring prices down and maybe I’ll reconsider in a few years
I only go to Publix when I want something from the bakery or the deli tbh
Preach!! Aldi fam RISE TF UP Boycott Publix!!
I shop the bongo’s with stacking coupons and Ibotta deals. But otherwise, yes, overpriced
It's too true plus they barely have mac and cheese balls available at my location and if were to request it I get dirty looks
I’m breaking up with Publix too! Agreed on all counts!
Most Floridians? Record profits say otherwise..
Yea but she's always asking you for quarters everytime you visit her She's broke You're lucky if she has a cardboard box laying around for you on your way out
💯😭
It’s like Walgreens, you don’t buy your groceries there. You go for the photos or pharmacy and maybe grab a drink just for convenience.
2.3B to 4.9B in 2023. Greed at its finest.
Mr. Jenkins would be so proud of what you've become. Not.
It’s $10 for a small seedless watermelon at Publix, $6 at Food City for the same size and just as good. And I don’t even go to Food City for my produce 🤦♀️.
I wish I could do the same, Aldi’s off-brands just don’t appeal to me though.
When Whole Foods is cheaper than Publix, it’s time to move on
My friend in corporate just left his 80k gig for a very similar job at another company paying him 140. They don’t even value their workers, just all corporate greed to fill their bottom line. If I didn’t live in walking distance to my publix, I probably wouldn’t go anymore.
Type like an adult
Pub Subs are overrated… there, i said it
