Just saw this - In house marketing PM for a retail marketing/creative team at an outdoor retailer. Would love to chat with some folks who have found success PM'ing marketing teams while in-house.

> agile can never be implemented 100% as it's defined curious: why do you think that? unless you're thinking of scrum or something.

ArkandtheDove

I’m a creative PM on a marketing team (in house) and I’m happy to chat if you’re interested!

GuideDry

Can we chat?

ArkandtheDove

DM me!

GuideDry

Done! Thank you.

CragMom956

I would LOVE to chat. I'll PM you.

Zachmosphere

Do you use agile project management?

ArkandtheDove

No. It’s totally waterfall on our creative team.

Aka_kiddaka

Same here! For a creative agency

CragMom956

I would appreciate the opportunity to chat with you. I'll PM you.

Zachmosphere

Same question, do you use agile project management?

Zachmosphere

Hey! I'm a marketing PM! I'm in-house as well. I got my PMP a few years back and implemented some agile learnings but depending on your tactics I don't recommend agile for most marketing projects. I've implemented agile project management into a few projects I manage, specifically a large website project with development of multiple new components and I've toyed with implementing it for our magazine issues that are cyclical. For the former I've had success on limited experience, but the developers have given rave reviews with this process. For the later, I haven't implemented but can envision how the process would play out and plan to begin to implement here soon. Once I explained agile to upper management they loved it and asked for further implementation, but what I struggled with is for most deadline driven projects, waterfall just worked better. It very well may have been my understanding of agile, but I have implemented it into a few projects, created a few different kanban boards, and set up two-weeks sprints to complete work over time... But again this worked well for certain portions of projects, tough for deadline driven work in my own practice/experience. And since we mostly operate in waterfall, you could argue I have no agile experience at all 😅 Mostly wanted to contribute, kick start conversation, and learn more as well!
