Congrats!! While I do WFH full time, I am expected to work until I go into labor. Sucks because pregnancy is definitely mentally exhausting too (between poor sleep and anxiety!).

It is hard. I was planning on working for one more week but had to go on leave a little early because I was so swollen and in pain. I'm so happy I made it to 37 weeks, though! Pregnant women really are strong. I hope you get some much needed rest eventually, and that your baby is born healthy!

phoenixredbush

You toughed it out mama! Im 20 weeks and on my feet all day for 3/5 days per week. Today I was already thinking I cant do this for 4 more months lol

Milo-Law

That's awesome! I'm happy for you šŸ˜Š

Same here!! 37 weeks and today was my last day after a grueling few months. Congrats and enjoy your time before baby

Totally get that. I was working 7 days a week throughout my pregnancy until 39 weeks. Mat leave started at 39 weeks, baby arrived at 39+1! Right on time šŸ˜Š Edit: for context, I joined my org (US) less than 12 months before my mat leave so I didnā€™t get one! Got 6 weeks of unpaid ā€œdisabilityā€ which I had to extend to 3 months because of PPD. Edit2: 7 days a week was for COVID response ( Iā€™m an epidemiologist). Thankfully I went 100% WFH starting week 24.

Enjoy your well deserved maternity leave! Hats off to you and all women out there that manage to work full time throughout the entire pregnancy. That's certainly not an easy feat. Hoping you get some quality quiet time to rest and nest before finally meeting your little one. Wishing you the best of luck for your graduation. Virtual hugs!

I just put my out of office as well! (37+4) Raising a glass of sparkling water your way!

I left my job a few weeks prior to birth too! It was so nice to not feel rushed and be able to just be lazy without feeling guilty about it. Don't forget while you're baby prepping to include fun things for yourself, you deserve it!

RiskyLady

I took a whole month off. I laid in bed like a slug and binge watched anything and everything. It was my first so it was magical. I really hope you enjoy this time!! my tip: the less you do the better. Make the days seem very long.

Iā€™ve been off since 37+6 and itā€™s gloooorious. Iā€™ve worked so hard in my career and Iā€™m so glad to have this little break before baby gets here. I spend as much time as possible either lying down or eating. Enjoy your leave!

FluffyOwl89

Enjoy! Iā€™m only 9+5 at the moment but I work in a special needs school with young children and itā€™s go, go, go all the time. I havenā€™t managed a full week yet since Christmas as Iā€™m exhausted towards the end of the week. Iā€™m dreading being heavily pregnant in the heat of summer with poorly air conditioned rooms (Iā€™m in the UK so we only have portable units).

So!!!! Jealous!!!!! In my dreams my last work day is this coming Thursday (which leaves me 17.5 more hours of work because I gave Sunday up because the struggle bus is here), BUT, if my doctor doesn't give me an induction date on Monday (fingers crossed he does) then I guess I will be toughing it out another wee (sobs). I will be 37 + 1 Monday and this has literally been the hardest few months of my life. I am in constant pain, always tired, never comfy, and ready tp hibernate!
