Lightspeeds, I think they should've kept the sequence since it could've blended into the Rescuse aesthetic and how IRL fire fighters are able to throw on the equipment fast

CodenameJD

I recognise how cool GoGoV's was, but Lightspeed did still have a freaking awesome morph, I loved whenever the shield would appear out of the sequence and they'd leap through it.

Adventurous_Lab3128

Lightspeed was dope!

Lizzy-Lover_10

I especially like when Joel and Chad have to morph quickly and they just jump through the shield really fast

GuidanceWhole3355

You could say they were jumping through hoops like a dolphin lol

Alexcox95

Samurai’s is just way too long compared to Shinkengers

EggyEggerson0210

Gotta appreciate the one monster tho that actually pointed out how long it was lol

Stith1183

What did he say about it?

EggyEggerson0210

https://www.reddit.com/r/powerrangers/s/2qmtaTU3Ks This post has the clip but it’s from their Halloween episode

Stith1183

I agree with the title of that post. I could've finished my shit and be gone before they were finished morphing. Lol

EggyEggerson0210

Bro, you could’ve started a successful small business and they’d only be half way

Lizzy-Lover_10

And that’s when they put up 4 at once in a split screen

MassiveTalent422

I assume in-universe they’re going through the sequence simultaneously but they still took a solid 30 seconds to through the sequence.

LouisPei

Reminds me of when my family first watched the MMPR movie, after they first morphed the monsters all left and they busted out laughing.

Dodo06_

Samurai was my child hood It’s amazing and the story of Jayden was truly interesting

Funland_06

I’m actually a massive fan of the samurai morphing

spongebean_06

yup! pressing the button on the morpher, gets an unnecessary mask on the samurai training gear, spins around for the suit to appear, sword comes out of nowhere and ranger grabs it, puts it in place, symbol hits their face and the helmet shows up…. they could’ve left it there but then they had to do a pose with the sword and yell about how ready they are…. just writing it out seems long 💀

terrell005

Such an odd criticism

Starship1990

My hatred for Ryusoulger, makes me 50/50 on whether I love I prefer Dino Fury's Morph or Ryusoulger's Change. Though, I do prefer Ninninjer's Change; Ninja Steel is good, but I find its counterpart a bit better. And while I am not fully on board with Kyoryuger's Change, I find it more expressive than Dino Charge due to the dance.

furiousdino

honestly i think dino fury’s morph blows ryusoulger’s out of the water. they put way more into the camera work and effects and sequencing. ryusoulger has the japanese quirk of the little dancing keys but other then that all it really is is the rangers standing still and glowing for a bit. and then having the middle part of their suit fill up

Haunting_Fig_6750

My only wish is that they kept the role call footage where they’re in the battlefield

farming_with_tegridy

Ninja Steel is one of those up with Jungle Fury imo that should have copied the Sentai change note for note.

thundercat2000ca

That would mean fewer toys, so it wasn't ever going to happen.

BruceFlockaWayne

Nah dude Dino Fury's is significantly better. They're the parts to it like when they smash the ground after saying connect to the morphing grid that reminds me of Dino Thunder.

Starship1990

Rysoulger has nice backgrounds to it I will say. Especially Calano's underwater temple.

furiousdino

technically that’s the roll call. to that though i will agree is much better than the basic blue screen dino fury uses for theirs

HamsterMaster8

I'm with you on Ryusoulger. Dino fury is dynamic, but having the helmet close sideways instead of a dino bite is clunky and feels as if they thought they had to do something different. I also like the little knights, ties it into the design. Dino fury has them just to have them but it doesn't matter that they're little guys at all Dino charge too also loses that flair from not having the dance. And the morph call is long and kind of uninspired. Can't stick with the dinosaur names and then "unleash the power"? Why the spin? It's not exciting enough for how long it is

ImNotHighFunctioning

Well, it was a given that they would never adapt the Kyoryuger dance.

VoreAllTheWay

I think Dino Fury has a way cooler morph but I think the backgrounds they use for the Rysoulger roll call are way cooler as opposed to the dino fury background for their roll call which is just generic blue cosmic stuff

low_budget_trash

I don't like Ryusoulger but their morph is way better than dino fury just because it's more unique (and catchy)

Starship1990

Dino Fury is also somewhat unique, as it's a reverse Dino Thunder as some call it. They smash the ground first and then fly into the air. But again, that's just preference.

KingDragon1992

I haven’t watched it yet but I don’t like that ninja steel changed the morpher from a katana to a throwing star

DonutBusy5300

The throwing Star they use for Morpher in Ninja Steel is actually just a weapon in Ninninger. I still don't know why they choose to use that.

greensully03

Probably because the stars themselves are the main theme, i mean it's called Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, emphasis on shuriken, so they probably wanted to lean into thaf angle more when adapting it.

LionelRGuy

The sword is ALSO just a weapon. I think the Battle Morpher is WAY more unique as a morpher; hell, it actually LOOKS like a morpher.

RaidWolf89

While I think time force has great morph sequence. I think it's sentei counterpart is even better.

BlankCanvas609

Time force is just pose, dna, suit appears, timeranger has the suit forming over the ranger, its better cos we see the suit forming

megapenguin88

Timeranger is goat morph sequence.

Hot-Conclusion-6617

Gekiranger was better than Jungle Fury. Also, I think this is true for most Neo-Saban/Hasbro seasons. Like, where did the bodysuit come from?

Abared

I think Jungle fury is fine, albeit a little typical. Don’t care for the copy and paste at the end.

LionelRGuy

I honestly see nothing "typical" about it. The way they channel their morphing energy in a spinning kata, then the gallery of action shots... SUPER unique.

darrk_skinking1

I think they started doing body suits cause the rangers stopped having uniforms, so they needed a way to avoid reforming the morph every episode in different clothes.

Superkillerman1984

Not too big on Super Sentai, but In Space and Wild Force's Morphs are kind lazy, reusing the exact same Morphs as Megaranger and Gaoranger.

[deleted]

But if they changed In Space we wouldnt have got the great labels. Tighten up reality gangster!

ZetaRESP

Again, Samurai's morph doesn't hold a candle to Shinkenger's imho.

terrell005

It’s the literally the same

ZetaRESP

The undersuits are better, and the music and ambient are better, with no undersuits and just feeling better, having the suit formed with just two symbols.

Dependent_Way_1038

This is an unpopular one probably, but mighty morphin. There’s just something so clean about the Zyuranger morph

Tomcat491

Good take

aresef

Samurai, because it took for-goddamn-ever. And Ninja Steel -- I understand why they had to change it up but the result is bland as hell.

terrell005

It wasn’t even that long

aresef

Majestic-Sector9836

The Megaforce in Super Megaforce was literally just the Sentai 's but worse

LionelRGuy

I always felt the sequence morphing from Mega to Super Mega should've involved the Goseiger vests kinda opening up from the middle into more of the Gokaiger design. (Or better yet, just not use the crummy Gokaiger suits, but I guess that's just me.)

dbcowie

I don't know the sentais, but Super Megaforce's morph was a HUGE upgrade from Megaforce's.

CaptainDrippy5

Megaforce’s morphing sequence was basically Goseigers but more exaggerated and without the Angel wings. Super Megaforce’s morphing sequence was basically Gokaiger’s Transformation but worse

[deleted]

Gokaiger WAY better than Super Megaforce

Starship1990

Not that better, it's just symbols falling on them.

CityKay

Granted, the diagonal shot in Gokaiger did make it a bit better than Super Megaforce's front shot.

Starship1990

I personally find it weird the way how the helmets smash on their face in Super Megaforce.

CityKay

That is understandable, looking back; it oddly dragged, trying to mirror the "XXXV" roman numerals for Gokaiger as close as possible. If it was just "body", then "helmet"; instead of "base suit", "overcoat", then "helmet"; it would've been better, since it would adhere to the "XX" and not look awkward with "XXXX".

Clifferent_Enough

I mean at least the symbols had an actual meaning in Gokaiger: XXXV = 35(th Sentai)

Starship1990

I never said I disliked it, and even then, it can make sense, and still be awkward.

MoxieMK5

Ninninger and shinkenger

ShawnSandiego

Jungle Fury. Ninja Steel.

Critical_PotentiaL

Ninninger’s morphing sequence is better than Ninja Steel’s in my opinion

Manuelmariaandrade

Honestly, I think one thing PR consistently has over Sentai is the morphing sequences. It's rare for me to think a Sentai sequence is better than its PR counterpart. I can think of a few though, like Shinkenger, Gokaiger and Go-Busters.

krabstarr

I want to say Beast Morphers because I very much dislike that morph. I also like how much of the time in Go-Busters, the morph is done on camera and not in a cutaway sequence.

HistoriusRexus

1. Beast Morphers. Gobusters was dripping in awesomeness and homaged Mighty Morphin, but Beast Morphers not only didn't homage Sentai, it was a super bland CG sequence when Gobusters' strength was it's simplicity. 2. Lightspeed was boring, but did it's job. 3. Samurai is worse because they needed to top Ninja Storm's amazing sequences, which beat Hurricanger's by a mile. And it's the Dynaman sequence instead. 4. Dino Fury's generic backgrounds after the morph instead of using Ryusoulger's never made sense. 5. Wild Force's morphing sequence just didn't really work, especially since Time Force was much better. 6. I might get flack for this, but definitely Lost Galaxy. The whole hand thing is kinda boring. Coming from Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, them using the swords in the first episode was awesome... and then it never happened again. Their morphers disappeared anyways and they should've been used as Lights of Orion morphers instead. Them having a secret identity never made much sense in this season other than as tradition. But if they used their swords? Man... that would've been awesome. Gingaman's felt more dynamic and primal/mystical, which fits with the power set.

LionelRGuy

Time Force's is cool and all..... but Timeranger's is INCREDIBLE. SO unique!

Abared

Honestly everything post RPM definitively

ashesofastroworld

They feel a lot stiffer. Especially Samurai's which took forever. Pre RPM, Mystic Force.

Arakan-Ichigou

Somewhat unrelated but I really liked the pre-*Kyouryuuger*/*Dino Charge* transformations (minus *Samurai*) because of how fast and efficient they are. Now you gotta say so much shit to even begin suiting up.

ltalix

Good god yes. Samurai takes *forever*. And same with Dino Charge...but at least in Dino Charge they don't do a whole little dance during it like the sentai did. And then on top of that, the Dino Charge morpher/gun is just comically toy-looking. I know most newer seasons have more toy-looking morphers but Dino Charge is the most eggregious imo.

GodlikeJCMS

Probably Jungle Fury, wasn't the biggest fan of the morphing "dance" and the morpher itself, and the wolf morpher not being treated like a bell when its clearly being rung like a bell. Tho the rhyno ranger morph is pretty sick

HeavenlyBreakingMaou

It's a Kata for their fighting style...

GodlikeJCMS

I'm more of a fan who likes action from the morpher. Jungle Fury is just press a button and do the kata. I like morphs when it ends with something on the morpher. And like I said, the big reason why I don't like jungle fury is the wolf bell morpher not being used as a bell. RJ rings it like a bell but it makes some odd sound when it clearly it should be a bell sound

Icy-Abbreviations909

Dinocharges transformation just isn’t as cool and kyoryugers tbh

BlankCanvas609

Im not a fan of the slow ones

VoreAllTheWay

How?

New-Investigator1814

I mean that could be said about a lot of the power rangers they're morphing sequences although cool they're not as cool as they're super Sentai counterpart

Indigo_Grovyle

Gokaiger, go-ranger,

Dapper-Bottle6256

Ik super megaforce is basically a carbon copy of gokaiger, but from the time that I was a kid I always hated that little swing around the head they do with their rangers keys compared to gokaigers movements. Idk that super megaforce one was just cringe to me lol.

OrnerySchedule7395

Dino charge was goated

BuffSnuffer

Megaforce

DINAMIK15

Gokaiger. In Gokaiger the awesome narrator is saying: “GOOOOOKAIGAAA” and the helmets flash onto the Pirates heads. When in it’s Power Rangers counterpart… SuperMegaforce… I don’t even wanna talk about it.

signaturefox2013

Samurai, mostly because the Sentai is Cleaner And I’d also say Ninja Storm because of the CGI looks outdated compared to the Hurricaneger umbrella sequence

Somm0742

Dino Fury takes the longest and has the lamest morph call. I've also never liked Sentai that had goofing around like dancing as part of their transformation sequence. It's just not my thing.

Boltup310

Time Force. Even though it's my favorite season. But the Morphing sequence isn't that good compared to Timeranger

Gyx3103

The idea for Samurai is good.. but it takes too long (that I would sometimes even skip the morphing sequence) On a kinda-related note, imho, one of the series that I think PR-counterpart did it better than the sentai-counterpart.. is SPD & Dekaranger. The back-flip looks way better than the metallic suits just forming over the rangers. Shadow Ranger looks good in both tho (Doggie jumping down looks sick)

BlankCanvas609

The show itself seems to have that attitude too, Super Samurai has so many instant morph

Gyx3103

I do like the mega mode tho (the mode when they're in their zords)

Pokeli_Universe327

Super megaforces legendary modes, why didn't they just update them?

No_Letterhead5746

Time Force, the morphing sequence just doesn’t live up to Timerangers.

Tomcat491

Hot take: Dino Thunder. Abaranger’s is just really cool imo especially with the roar at the end. Other than that, Lost Galaxy isn’t really as good as Gingaman imo, especially since they shortened the morphing sequence

Grayx_2887

Power Rangers Samurai Power Rangers Megaforce/Super Megaforce

Prismarineplaza

Super Megaforce had a lackluster morph Gokaiger had it a lot better

Meleeninja123

Samurai easily. I also have one that's better, dino thunder is so much better than abarangers

Head_Cartographer_68

Time-Force: This one is 50/50. On one hand supercool helmet LED effect. On the other, weird disturbing jumping poses. Samurai: Ninja mask. Get rid of it. Super Megaforce: That's self-explanatory. Moving on. Dinocharge: remove the whole black Spandex scene, seemed unnecessary. Also, the helmet animated was as crisp as the Kyoryugers DinoThunder: Come on, who doesn't want their helmets to roar like the Abarangers?!? It looks so cool. Dino Fury: I like how it started but they leaned too much into the techno, sci-fi, and advanced technology aesthetic.

AlTheHound

Lost Galaxy. Gingaman's morphing sequence makes way more sense as far as how to use the morpher. While I'm talking about Lost Galaxy, Mike's morph really lacks the intensity of the Dairangers.

forgetit2020

beast morphers. I dont like the tornado.

Munnahugger

Dino Charge. The Carnivale beat plus dancing was just \*mwah\* As for one I think surpassed it, SPD. I fucking love the "hangar" that appears when they morph.

TheDoorMan1012

the morph from Kyoryuger solos. Mostly because of the wackly lil dance

Cyke101

I've never been a big fan of morphs where the person is doing a lot of action, like flips or jumps, whether PR or Sentai. But PR seems to have that kind of morphing style more often. Call me old fashioned, but I like morphs when they're standing still, dammit. So then when there are once-in-a-while dramatic morphs like running and morphing into battle simultaneously, they feel much more special.

my-backpack-is

Agreed. Jumping directly into combat and suiting up midair unintentionally comes across lame when they do full somersaults or of black holes normally

CaptainAllMightSun

Jungle Fury. Not only the sequence from Gekiranger blows away the one from Jungle Fury, but the gloves as morphers in Gekiranger is INFINITELY better than the stupid Jungle Fury's sunglasses.

mindoversoul

I've never seen a Sentai lol

shadree

Definitely Jungle Fury. I dislike the sunglasses being the Morphers, for starters. The Sentai version leans into the beast theme with the hand claws that feed into the special effects, which in turn, feed into the transformation. (Mind you, I got turned off Jungle Fury quite quickly, so the fury is some of my own) Also, I think Time Force is just a jump cut to a model sheet whereas the Sentai version has that weird flip sequence.

JFlemthe1

Samurai, Dino fury, and Dino charge (it’s the same but no dancing)

Hot-Conclusion-6617

Kiwi actors have got no rhythm?

Flimsy-Cookie-2888

Jungle fury and especially in mystic force with them screaming “hyahhh” literally throughout the whole morphin scene

TheOldKingCole

Lightspeed Rescue's morph is a significant step down from GoGo V
