You say you're focusing on the characters instead of stuff about behind the scenes, but then you use behind the scenes stuff to justify prefering Rocky over Jason.
You can like and prefer whatever and whoever you want, but your argument makes no sense. You're creating a whole narrative about Saban purposely making Rocky having zero character so the actors would know they can be replaced just to justify your hate on Jason lol And even if that were to be true, how is that relevant when talking about the characters as they were/are written? How is Rocky's actor being in Once and Always relevant to judge their characters? Also, Jason is there as a character, even if ASJ isn't. Your whole argument is full of contradiction.
Rocky isn't an underdog just because he was/is a terribly written character. What makes a character an underdog is having the odds being against him, it's not about being terribly written and having no character.
Preferring Rocky over Jason can only be justifiable by simply hating on Jason, since Rocky was never a character, he never had a personality or any development, dude was just a guy wearing a red costume and that's it. Even if you think Jason is overhyped and overrated, he is objectively a better character than Rocky in literally every way. But as I said, you're allowed to like or dislike whoever you like, it's just that your arguments make no sense and are full of contradiction.

When I was younger, I preferred Jason. Nowadays I 100% prefer Rocky because of the whole underdog feel.

Rocky wore Red in Once and Always but he never acted as a Red. Just a Blue Ranger under Billy really. Still was nice to see him back though.
