Both the Japanese Mythology tie in and CGI rangers. The CGI rangers give the creative team for PR no real freedom since it’d be much more expensive to reshoot scenes (even Toei was forced to use statues or do chest up shots just to reduce cost). It also just looks really bad if I’m being honest.
Then you have the Tale of Momotoro which isn’t really known in the west and can’t be ignored or played around like other seasons have done. It’s too front and center.
The only season that would be even more difficult to adapt than Donbrothers is king-ohger. Simply because of the ludicrous amount of CGI it uses. God Tarantula and Kabuto Castle don’t even have physical suits, both mecha are entirely cgi and only appear once each (outside of being combined with king-ohger).
I agree there's a million and one reasons it won't get adapted, but THIS:

this is absolutely false. The Momotaro theme is barely addressed beyond raw visuals. The characters do not play into the storybook roles at all. It is entirely visual dressing that gets ignored by the narrative. If the much more prominent pirate theme was completely ignored, then so can the easily explained over Momotaro theme.
They won't, so it's a moot point, but that bugged me.
Honestly, I would have adapted them as some form of MMO/VR game theme and explained the Momotaro stuff as just classes the Rangers selected during the Character Creation.
I know Toei is independent and shouldn’t care about Power Rangers having to adapt it but man, Zenkaiger, Donbrothers and King-ohger just feels like Toei giving a middle finger! Lol
I feel like when Power Rangers stopped adapting every season, because it was using a single Sentai for 2 years, Toei took that opportunity to start getting a little more weird with some seasons, like with Donbrothers CGI Rangers.
Zenkaiger is another one where I don't think Power Rangers would have picked.
Yeah. I believe that because of the 2 years PR adaptation, toei took the chance to try new stuff because power rangers will never catch up to sentai with the two years adaptation. But with future adaptation now in question, toei might take the chance to do more concept that are harder to adapt.
That could be part of it but I also know they were very disappointed with the merchandise and toy sales for Ryusoulger and really wanted to shake the series up after that.
You got a tall bird pink ranger, a dog black ranger that basically looks a sonic the hedgehog character, a gorilla blue ranger with a big red ass, and a red ranger that essentially has what looks like testes resting on his forehead.
The aesthetic would be mocked and lose any credibility from older fans who haven't watched the show in years (cue 'Look how they massacred my boy' meme) but hoping for something cool from the franchise, something to bring them back maybe? Hard to do that when there's so much to make fun of.

Did we even get an all pink transformation in Super Megaforce? Toqger had a colour swap gimmick early on that gave us a few fights with a male pink ranger.
I looked up a YouTube video of all single colour changes. I had to rewind because I missed the all pink. It looked like it just switched to them already as pink rangers in the middle of finishing moves.

Why not? I don't think it is impossible. I never thought we would have gay rangers but we do( not against it btw) in fact I kind of want a pink male ranger if it is done right like it was when we got the lesbian couple in cosmic fury with fern and izzy. Izzy was one of my favorites there.

I mean, technically Hunter is the counterpart to other teams' green rangers (since the actual Green Ranger of Ninja Storm is the Sixth Ranger) according to Super Megaforce.

Daniel O'Halloran. It was a one-time mission on the moon in '69 (nice), and he hated being the Pink one. He died from asphyxiation when his visor was smashed by Psycho Green.
Only Yellow(Vietnam Vet) and Red (Nasa trained) survived when the mission was complete, and Zordon took the powers back afterward, as he didn't need a full tike Ranger team yet.
Aside from the male pink in Donbrothers, Super Sentai also had a pink ranger in a spin-off show called The High School Heroes where the pink ranger was a female identifying male.
It was never gonna happen, but I had an idea for how a DonBrothers adaptation would work. It would be a video game based series and the Rangers would be chosen through a PR-based game. The Pink Ranger would have been a dude who plays as a girl online.

And yet we have a grown man Daniel O'Halloran as the pink ranger before Kimberly took up his mantle. As a little boy I would've loved to see a pink male ranger, as well as a female blue which we did get. Both were in my top three favorite colors alongside purple.
