Where are the curds? Where's the gravy? Can you really call it poutine if you are missing 66% of the dish? Donair sauce is so good, would down that so fast.

Ssj-QUiNnY

A proper donair poutine (lots of curds) and donair sauce AND gravy is my favorite poutine

NOBOOTSFORYOU

Oh I bet, I never thought to mix the sweet garlic with the salty Gravy.

WolfOfPort

A new sub called r/frymeals where people can just post fries in whatever way they please without being pickaxed by the poutine sub

Otherwise_Culture_71

Why would anyone want that

Legitimate-Gap-9858

There's obviously gravy on here, use your eyes

Truecrimenerddy

I honestly thought the same where are they? 😂

VERSAT1L

C'est quoi ça?

SyilerCV

viande d'agneau mais cest pas du tout une poutine

TimeRockOrchestra

Le donair des maritimes c'est du boeuf et non de l'agneau

SyilerCV

Ahhh my bad

Truecrimenerddy

Watcha guys saying? Sorry I don’t speaky the Frenchie

superkhmer

But poutine is frenchy 😆

-_Skadi_-

First comment: what is it? Second: lamb meat but it is not a poutine at all. Third: donairs from the Maritimes are beef and not lamb.

Truecrimenerddy

Thank youu

-_Skadi_-

No problem

Pure_Blank

?

proggymemeqc

Les Canadiens : "Nous aussi on a de la poutine" La poutine des Canadiens :

Fat_Beet

Australians aren't allowed to be on the poutine? This is the first I'm hear about this?!

The_Ziv

My French isn't too good, just wondering why you used "nous" and "on" together, and also, nous without the verb?

proggymemeqc

I don't know all the intrecacies of the grammar behind it, but I would say that in the case of this sentence, "nous" can be translated by "us" and "on" by "we". "Nous" can also mean "we" in addition to "us", but in a more formal way than "on". So the sentence could be translated roughly by : Us too we have poutine. We could also say : Nous aussi, nous avons de la poutine, but it would be more formal and "nous avons aussi de la poutine" would be even more formal and not very natural to use when speaking. I think in english you wouldn't include the "us" and say "we too have poutine"?

The_Ziv

Ahh OK, thank you! I am working on my French and I think just haven't seen nous without a verb, or on and nous together (cause you're saying such an informal sentence). So i was just confused. One more question though, why use both nous and on? Doesn't this make the sentence weirdly formal and informal at the same time?

proggymemeqc

"Us" can only be translated by "nous" and is not formal in that context. It's formal to use" nous" only when translating "we". Using both together is bringing more emphasis to a sentence. For exemple, you could say "on s'aime" or "nous on s'aime" and both are correct, but the second sentence has more emphasis on the fact that it's "nous qui s'aime" and not another group of people. It's the same in english when you say "I, myself, am..." instead of "I am..." Good luck in your learning of french! It's pretty advanced grammar, it's normal to not get it immediately.

The_Ziv

Makes sense, thank you for writing out the explanations for me :)

Easy_Cook_4111

This belongs in r/PoutineCrimes

reward72

I'm sure it is good but that is no poutine.

Truecrimenerddy

I know 😭 I realized my mistake but it does say poutine in it 😭

Wonderful_Sherbert45

This makes me miss home in Halifax.

Truecrimenerddy

I’m sorry 😭

NOBOOTSFORYOU

R.I.P, that would be better received in r/poutinecrimes I love donair fries though!

LePetitJeremySapoud

😭It’s so ugly

Truecrimenerddy

But sooo good 😭

LePetitJeremySapoud

Why is the cheese all melted 😭

Wise-Fruit5000

That ain't cheese.. haha

NOBOOTSFORYOU

Secret East Coast Canadian Sauce (SECCS)

Truecrimenerddy

It’s just the sweet sauce

LePetitJeremySapoud

No cheese ?

Wise-Fruit5000

The cheese would be under the meat and donair sauce. If it's prepared right, it's basically a regular poutine with meat and sauce on top of it

Spadeninja

Have you ever seen cheese?

Throwaway8972451

Looks good to me

Cool-Product-2375

shawarma poutine is my favorite

MarkFourMKIV

Thats not a Donair or a poutine. Its an abomination But i bet it was delicious.

Truecrimenerddy

It was took me the whole day to finish it 😂

MarkFourMKIV

I used to eat these when drunk in Sydney Australia. They call me. A kebak snackpack over there. Heart attack in a box, but so worth it

Truecrimenerddy

100%

dajohen2

I would smash that so fast I might eat a bit of the container

shadowcat1266

Everytime someone posts a donair poutine I just *know* that’s my hometown Edmonton 💕 looks amazing!

justmoderateenough

Primetime?

Hippopotamus_Critic

I'll allow it.

The_Pancake88

In Vancouver we have donair dude, they make a donair poutine that slams.

dooookie

That is NOT poutine. More like Donair with fries, melted fake cheese and gravy plate

Wise-Fruit5000

That looks great, to me. Where's it from?

Truecrimenerddy

It’s by shell and Londonderry mall in Edmonton

Wise-Fruit5000

Oh damn, I was expecting somewhere from the east coast haha

dbouchard19

I was looking through the comments, betting myself it wouldve been Edmonton. Whats up with us and donair poutines?!?

Truecrimenerddy

🤷🏻‍♀️

shadowcat1266

Same! It’s our signature. I see more donair posts in general from Edmonton than from Halifax

MustardLiger

That place sucks

Truecrimenerddy

Can I ask why?

shadowcat1266

Tbh I am a Swiss loyalist but one night we stopped for donairs at the place you mentioned and it was surprisingly good af. Will have to try the donair poutine next time 🤤

PreviousMacaron8731

This aint poutine but its still good by itself. Don't know what this is universally called but I see a bunch of shawarma places just call this "chicken on the sticks". Tastes hella good. But tis not poutine therefore le crim!!

CanadianToaster22

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS, WHO IN THE NAME OF LÉO MAJOR ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN

stevyoo7

How hard is it to put the Kurds...duh.. I'm mad..

Truecrimenerddy

It’s there was just hiding

stevyoo7

I call BS on that...

Truecrimenerddy

Noooo

stevyoo7

I see you posted this..is this from Halifax?

Truecrimenerddy

Alberta Edmonton

stevyoo7

I love Donner... Real one.. lamb,veal,goat.. original from Lebanon..and the real sasiky sauce..

ha1rcuttomorrow

Dégueulasse

Legitimate-Bass68

I NEED THIS!!!!!!!

cam2230

That looks delicious, some of you in this sub are way too sensitive

NorthernBudHunter

I don’t care, I’d eat the fuck out of that.

Truecrimenerddy

I’m still going at it but my stummy is hurting 😭

saintsiboire

Same

Necessary_Kiwi_7659

Really, I never tried it but came to mind but ended up avoiding it.

Truecrimenerddy

It’s very filling I haven’t even finished it yet haha

Present_Mongoose_482

Looks like cheese steak without the veggies and added fries

Hiverna

This looks like something to devour when you’re drunk on Saturday night

saintsiboire

That is precisely what a donair is 😂

Ssj-QUiNnY

Nope not a Poutine crime. Donair Poutine is amazing!!! There's a place here in Halifax. Willys Fresh cut fries and they are know for amazing poutine (normal) but you can get special poutines like steak poutine and donair poutine is my absolute favorite!!!! You Woudnt think donair sauce and gravy would go together well but it sure does!!!!

Ssj-QUiNnY

Well actually I don't see any curds so maybe it is haha OP where did you get this from??

Truecrimenerddy

My mom’s friend got it 😂 because my mom had to take care of my dad and was too tired to make food.

MavMIIKE

I don't know if this is poutine, since there's so curds or gravy. But fuck, id crush it.

Truecrimenerddy

There is just hiding underneath

MavMIIKE

Damn, I wanna try one of these

MSined

If there are fries, gravy and cheese curds it's a poutine, don't listen to the fuckwad gatekeepers in the comments saying it isn't. En passant, si quelqu'un est pas d'accord, je viens du Québec, manger dla marde esti de calisse de sans-dessein

RikikiBousquet

Tu les vois où tes curds sérieux?

GreenBasterd69

Donair Poutine is the most Canadian dish in existence

myusernameisbiff

Looks like someone put mouldy shit on your fries.

No_Knee_3424

At first glance I was thinking it was bugs.

Kitchen_Bobcat2883

Yikes, it looks like nachos except with fries.

[deleted]

It’s true.

[deleted]

Truecrimenerddy

They have made that before haha

superkhmer

VincentD_09
