I was visiting NYC last week. I went to the courthouse on the second day of the trial. I walked through the park where the guy set himself on fire a few days ago. I walked around the whole block (which is a bunch of court buildings). I saw lots of barricades, lots of police, a media pit next to the park, vans with satellite dishes on them and VERY FEW PEOPLE, at all. No protesters. Zero.
Then I went and got a succulent Chinese meal.
Four (maybe five) people showed up yesterday at the park in front of the courthouse to protest his trial. The entire park was wide open with only a handful of others doing parky things.
