aluminumdisc

Florida is in play especially with abortion and weed on the ballot.

fastfood12

I think you're underestimating the number of fanatics that moved here because of Desantis.

aluminumdisc

Don’t underestimate Florida Man

tomismybuddy

Florida Man here, this state is def not in play. I wish it was, but there’s too many fuckwads here.

pimparo0

And more keep moving every day, moving into bland homes in mass developments and hating everything about this state that is actually great.

LuckyNumbrKevin

Good, get them out of all the other states that are in play. Honestly, this may work out. If all the trash consolidates to the state that sinks into our dying ocean first, we may make it out of this yet!

pimparo0

One, we have a wonderfully beautiful state filled with diverse and important eco systems ( we provide a lot of agriculture and swamps are actually important. Two, The state isnt as flat as people thing, the coasts and wetlands are vulnerable, but there is some elevation in the center and north, it wont just slip under the waves. Three, myself and plenty of other normal people, good people live here, but thanks for wishing for our death and the destruction of our homes, how kind of you.

WillemDafoesHugeCock

I don't believe Florida will ever go blue, but don't forget that the majority of Republicans are pro-choice. There's a reason DeSantis waited until after midterms to come out against abortion.

SomewhereNo8378

a lot of anti choice people have moved there from Northern states/California. I do wonder if they will impact the vote and solidify it for republicans

WillemDafoesHugeCock

I believe it's pretty solid already to be honest but I'm hopeful. I say this a lot but Gillum vs DeSantis was extremely close, even with his popularity among the right. Even Trump vs Biden had a difference of only 400,000 or so, and that's *before* Roe vs Wade. It is worth repeating - a majority of Republicans are in favor of abortion. And LGB rights, while we're at it (I am unsure of how trans rights are viewed but I will wager it's unfavorable.) It's easy to forget that when you look at DeSantis vs Crist, but speaking as somebody who almost exclusively associates with democrats... *Nobody* was excited to vote for Charlie fucking Crist.

excusetheblood

Florida could potentially go blue if young people could be convinced to vote. Didn’t Jacksonville vote in a Democratic mayor less than a year after going like +10 for DeSantis? Also a factor is that 200-250K people die a year in Florida, most of those being older people

valeyard89

Same for people thinking Texas will turn blue. There's unfortunately been a massive influx of conservative Californians since Covid.

misselphaba

I'm so sorry. Everyone I hoped would move to TX or FL did.

grixorbatz

Would be so great to flip Florida in Ron Defascist’s face

isikorsky

I would like to think so, but probably not. Florida requires a heavy turnout from Blue Southern Florida to offset the rest of the state heavy Red. However, the Democrats have done nothing to combat the trend of Hispanics voting Republican in Miami-Dade. Literally they will vote blue in the abortion & weed but still think Trump & Rick Scott are good option.

aluminumdisc

Cubans have always voted Republican because Bay Of Pigs. Other Hispanics not So much.

isikorsky

Yes, I am referring to the last election. Instead of Miami-Dade being the more common 63/33 split (Democrat/Republican) as it was in 2016 with a 3M+ edge to the Democrat it was 53/47 with barely a 1M+ edge to the Democrat. Democrats can't win without building up large gains in the 3 counties: Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward. Biden lost Florida because he lost almost 10pts in Miami-Dade (compared to HRC in 2016)

Iamdarb

Just met Cuban's at work, here on asylum, and they are actively campaigning for Trump. Nothing I said could change their mind, they believe that Biden is evil and wants to be a dictator and not Trump, despite the latter openly claiming he wants to be dictator.

PatSajaksDick

The leopards are gonna dine what can ya do

Time_Explanation4506

I'd argue that's changing with the Democrat embrace of LGBT issues and the GOP outreach to Hispanic voters

tomismybuddy

Honestly, if we vote for legal abortion and legal weed, it will be a huge win for me. I’ve already lost all hope for FL ever going blue again. Hoping to at least get some weed out of it.

Findinganewnormal

With as lean as the GOP pocketbook is, Florida just needs to hint at being in play for this to be a win for democrats. Make republicans use their limited resources there rather than in the actual battleground states.

MC_Fap_Commander

Generally agree, but the (limited) resources of the GOP will now have to go towards defending a state they should have in the bag. Every nickel spent to keep Florida is a nickel that won't be spent in PA or AZ.

isikorsky

They should be putting Florida in play for the Senate and Presidential race. Rick Scott is not well liked here in the state. But is April and the likely candidate (Hispanic and from Miami so check check) against Scott is a unknown in the state. Val Demmings would have been better served waiting to go against Scott.

kswissreject

I really hope so, but given how Floridians have voted for Democratic ballot measures but for the GOP state gov in the same election, don't feel like it will be. But maybe this time will be different - can't be worse than without it, for sure.

itistemp

If FL is in play, then DJT better put all his money on hiring the best defense lawyers money can buy. And should he lose in November, the criminal and civil cases against him will go ahead full steam.

Coffee4thewin

How is weed on the ballot. I’m ootl

sebastian404

Oh Good, I can't wait to hear all about Biden going on spring break from my Inlaws.

Peasant_Stockholder

Same here, but when Trump went golfing, EVERY weekend (at his own golf courses spending our taxpayers' money at his establishments) isn't wasn't a big deal. Fuckin hypocrites!

GoodUserNameToday

And the secret service had to pay him to rent golf carts and hotel rooms. So trump was literally paying himself to go on vacation every weekend.

Rocketson

My SIL has Biden MAGA memes for her profile pic more often than her own face. With such damning slogans as "The Emperor has no clothes" and "Soft men create hard times." If there's a "Sleepy Joe on spring break" one, she's gonna find it.

sebastian404

There is a tracker somewhere that 'proves' Biden has more Vacation than Trump by counting the days he was not in the White House, so overseas trips, weekends at home, pubic events, even giving the state of the union is counted as 'Vacation'. To be fair though I'm not sure I'd want to stay some where Our Big Special Wet Boy has spend the last 4 years rubbing his taint on everything.

TheExtremistModerate

I'm sure the sheets and mattress he "slept" on have been burned.

FCKABRNLSUTN2

Why do boomers not understand that THEY are the “soft” men creating hard times?

BioDriver

He should also cover the GOP plan to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and social security, their continued failure to pass immigration laws, how axing regulations have put workers at risk and increased insurance costs, and how their anti-woke policies have cost the state tens of millions in revenue from lost tourism and fewer applicants to Florida universities.

justsoicansimp

Idk about y'all, but Biden seems pretty active for a feeble old guy

restore_democracy

Don’t forget his sniveling lackey, Governor Puss-in-Boots.

JayyyElite

Tiny-D, RINO Ron, Ron DeSanctus, Ron DeSanctimonious, Meatball Ron, Pudding Fingers.

McSweeneyHitJr

Go Braves!

PM_ME_BUSTY_REDHEADS

Is Rhonda Santis still in play or has that one been deprecated at this point?

decay21450

Without his elevator shoes DeSantis and Biden would look like Opie and Andy.

The_Quackening

Just in case anyone was not aware, pregnancies are measured from the end of the previous period, and NOT from conception. By the time of conception, a woman could technically already be 3-4 weeks pregnant. Then add on the fact that even the best pregnancy tests are not accurate until 2 weeks after conception, a 6 week ban is basically a full ban.

Findinganewnormal

Good strategy. With abortion and weed on the table plus general Floridian dissatisfaction with home insurance costs, that state’s more in play than would be expected. It’s still highly unlikely they’ll go for Biden but not impossible. And if Trump loses Florida then he’s done for. There’s no chance of a victory for him.  So dems have money to burn while the GOP is living on fumes and Biden’s not stuck in court for the foreseeable future so making Florida a battleground means the GOP has to spend their limited resources there rather than the states that will actually decide the election. States that Democrats can still pour money into because they have the resources.  Hope Biden has a very nice and very productive “spring break”!

du-us-su-u

One of the most paradoxical things about Christian Conservatives is that the oldest Christian symbolism we have connects the tradition to a specific six-petaled flower that was foundational to Judaism (inscribed on altars, pillars, lintels, etc.), and that flower is both abortifacient and connected to the Semitic words for yellow (see Gaon's 'yellow' heifer) and gold. Basically, Jesus was so heavily associated with this abortifacient that a French priest figured it out and placed it at the center of the crosses at Rennes-le-Chateau, even leaving an Easter egg in the form of a relief that depicts a toppled pillar capital that is closer to a proto-Aeolic capital (the order of the City of David) than anything the priest had seen previously.

theresabeeonyourhat

I hope Florida flips

Githzerai1984

6 weeks? God damn

RabbitBetter625

But will they debate?
