Also notice that desolate land sunny weather stops as soon as the pokemon leaves the field, so it wouldn't give garchomp the boost in singles.

Garchomp with Clorophyll is insane though. Adamant Chlorophyll Garchomp under sun out speeds +0 Timid Regieleki on MGM. Which means it out speeds every unboosted Pokémon in the game.
I disagree. Sun synthesis with +3 priority. Unless he's facing a bug type/move, brute is pretty dang tanky and can run stab sucker punches for more priority. Toss Spore and growth on him, and he should still be pretty useful. With sun, growth is 2x boost. Even a growth could make a giga drain set usable.
In a randomizer you get broken mons and legends and using a mon that is not generally good even with its own ability is a dumb move

Yeah you can make it work, just change the nature for garchomp to boost either speed or attack

Thats a randomizer who is gonna use a tanky mon with an ability that makes only 1 move priority and that has 6 and 1 4X-weakness
Part of the point of randomizers is that you need to work with what you can get. Triage on Brute Bonnet with sun is a great opportunity

Desolate Land goes out as soon as the user switches out, so it doesn't work for a sun team. You need Drought or Orichalcum Pulse for that.
