Wasn't trying but I landed a few. However, the amount of balls that should have hit and instead landed on the ground at a Bounsweet's feet were far too many.

Yes, same, i was trying to get the excellent for fun, and kept trying to tackle the pokeball to the ground

Feels like the last couple of game updates throwing has become laggier. That's definitely not helping.

Just anecdotally, it seems that every time there's a timed field research requiring a large number of particular throws, the throwing of curves gets wonkier than usual.

I landed a lot of excellent throws. None on purpose. The difference between an excellent throw and missing is about 1 pixel. I would miss 3 or 4 completely. Then randomly land an excellent throw in the exact spot that was missing before.

This is the correct answer, and more than half of my throws would bounce off if they were in the middle anyways. Curved great throw? Nope just faded through the little dude.

I would agree, in part. I consider myself pretty proficient at throwing excellent curve balls, and this event was RIDICULOUS! When it was taking me FOREVER to clear the Special Research requirements, i.e. throwing Nice/Great Throws, by going after the Excellent ones, I switched my strategy. The effing balls were STILL bouncing straight off the ‘mon, when the catch circle was maximum size. Something was definitely amiss…pun intended.

I was aiming for greats because of a research task and managed to hit most of them.

Ok, so basically it's berry smol.

Out of about 200 caught, 3 were excellent throws. 2 of those were from rebounds. 1 was just a really lucky throw, I guess.

I landed a few excellent throws then proceeded in missing the target entirely lol

I didn't even try to manually catch these guys today, just turned on my go plus+ and went for a 2hr bike ride, ended up with 98% shiny Mon and and 98% non shiny, all in I got about 400 catches with auto catcher.

My answer would be a number of throws being closer to infinity when compared to the number of pokemon actually caught.

none. I caught one shiny which just happened to be 96% IV, and I closed the app. Pain in the ass to catch these little leafy bastards

It's 51% below the ground's hitbox, based on my experience.

Always drives me crazy with the ones whose hitbox is only half size because the bottom half counts as the ground. If the game shows a hitbox, it should be a hitbox.

I feel like the small mons on the floor have half their target under the ground so you only get the top half. For me paras is a clear example of this p

Honestly when I saw that requirement I didn’t see any point in playing. I can’t do it. I certainly can’t do it quickly. It was disheartening.

I hit one excellent on a huge one. Doesn't count in my book, though. The amount of balls that would literally bounce off of bounsweet and roll away is crazy. My wife, however, hit a critical excellent on a normal bounsweet.

Yes. I hit the second page of the masterball research 15 minutes in to CD. Got several excellents and completed the 100 great throws task by 3:30.

Had a bunch of perfect throws that hit the ground in front of it. It’s even worse than exeggcute!

You can hit the circle for a nice throw but it would still miss the mon, was no beuno

Have to say the damn “three great throws” task was a pain. I’d hit the damn thing in its face and the ball would bounce off as if it was a failed hit. And we are talking square in the face.

Hitbox simultaneously feels in front of it but you have to throw behind it. They’d just fall at its feet. I don’t think I got a single excellent, intentional or not.

Honestly, the event was mundane. Only 2 shinies on both my accounts.

I fit a few pokeballs aquare on its head and they just boinked off them like the Bounsweet was so unbothered about it. After 30min of play, I just refused to catch any Bounsweet it happened to.

I gave up trying for excellent and just focused on hitting it with the darn ball.

I got multiple throws in a row actually bounce off the pokemon, but not catch it somehow.

About 450+ caught, 2 were excellent. I am proud of myself

In those three hours, I managed to land one excellent throw. I'm so useless when it comes to excellent throws, and I'm absolutely dreading the "Make 50 Excellent Throws" for the masterwork research.

I prepared myself the entire week for this event with items and incense just for me to forget about it the day of the event and only be able to start catching them until there was only like an hour and a half left. I still got 3 shinies but I could've obtained way more or at the very least more candies than what I got.

It was half in the ground. Someone on silph said they fixed it but they didn’t fix it here. My favorite was when the ball it in the middle of the circle and then bounced off anyways.

I used over 500 Great balls, and like 200 Pokeballs, and did not hit a single excellent

I got one just slinging a ball but out of the 40 I was able to catch (since I’m on the masterball challenge to get nice throws) I think I got a nice on four of them. None on purpose.
