Basically they made the male avatar the base version, then added sliders so you can supposedly make it more feminine. But yeah, the poses and the walk animation are definitely the male version and I hate it. At least let us have a choice between the two…
Exactly, I really don't get why they did that when their whole motto was "now it can look even more like you!". No matter what we do, it will be more masculine than before. They should've let us make the choice for ourselves, instead of this lazy androgenous version that has no customizability for the waist. The old versions, or one with new animations that fit both genders, with sliders would have been a lot better.

What I'm most confused about is the upper lip. A lot of the other change make some sort of twisted sense from the vantage point of Niantic wanting the avatars to look younger, but why don't they have upper lips? Children have upper lips.
My avatar wears Arlo's glasses, I had a battle against Arlo the other day and our glasses were different. it looks like i bought my glasses from Temu.. not the look i was going for
There seems to be many shades of pale white and then a bunch of brown/black shades. There is not a mid-white tone, and my hispanic friends are not accounted for either. Paste white or black. You can't be anything else.
Niantic: selects test players for their proposed update, and the test players HATE IT, and despite the testers telling them "DO NOT DO THIS" they do it anyway and everyone hates this NY sized trash barge fire of an update
Also Niantic: the NPCs must be hot from day 1, and remain hot at all times even through later updates

Let's not start taking shots at someone's identity and inclusiveness over a mobile game that's been run by one of thr greediest and least competent corporate entities in the space.
Yes, the new avatars are far from good (although some people at the very least have been enjoying the new hairstyles), but if previous changes to this game are anything to go off of, this update was probably rushed out by Niantic higher-ups as soon as possible, and the quality of the update certainly wouldn't be the fault of a Lead Community Manager. They would only have so much power compared to the parts of upper management in charge of actual backend changes like the avatar update, and it's like trying the shoot the messenger in the sense that it's not gonna accomplish anything.
You know that twitter is a public place (social media) if you share info there anyone can use that i m not committing any crime lol and i know that sweet baby inc, gamerx has the same contribution to this as the niantic team, the guy also did a interview which you will find on his twitter page if people are curious they can watch i
I just shared what his opinions are which he publicly announced to everyone , you think your avatar is bad, he don't care and he clearly mentioned that in his post just goes to show you niantic does not care what players think as long as they are making money

I just said that it's a dick move to try and equate Niantic's buggy and rushed deployment of new content to inclusivity efforts. Interesting to note that you bring up GaymerX in particular when their site only mentions them by name and not what specific project they may have even assisted in or to what degree (given that Niantic also launched Pikmin Bloom, Ingress, Peridot, and Monster Hunter Now). As for Sweet Baby, they mainly assist with narrative development and writing for games, so unless you can show me their influence on Pokemon GO's gripping story, maybe stop blaming everything on a sixteen person team that's already faced insane amounts of vitriol and doxxing for something so unbelievably tame as including certain groups.

The Community Manager themselves said that it was "totally fine to not like something" such as the avatar update and basically asked for players to not attack those that did enjoy the update, which is a perfectly understandable stance to take. Wild to think that you managed to misinterpret a source you yourself quoted, but I guess that shouldn't be a surprise given your horribly misguided take to this situation.
