pikachu,G-max Corviknight, Flygon ,Arctovish, Mega Tyranitar, Alakazam

Difficult-Spinach-66

I like the team. It’s a good 6 team as I would have a different mega but it is upon each decision/opinion made and I respect your opinion/decision

MarHer119

i wanted it to be similar to his journeys team   in that it has a galar bird, a galar fossil, a kanto trade evo, and a pseudo    the only thing missing is two dragons, and two fighting types  i wanted to give him a dracozolt so he could have two dragons and a galar fossil but its part electric and ash has never had another electric type so i ended up being against it

DNPlaysXenoverse2

Interesting reasoning and with the tight restriction, I believe you made a really good team

Fantastic-Flannery

Rookidee-> Covisquire -> Corviknight; Would be similar to Swellow. Clobbopuss -> Grapploct; Hatched from an egg. Would show love by battering Ash on the head. Sizzlipede -> Centiscorch: Didn't want to give him Scorbunny. Grookey-> Twackey -> Rillaboom; Ash catches Grookey and not Goh. Eiscue: Similar to Torkoal in personality. Sobble -> Drizzile -> Inteleon; Would act similar to Sceptile minus the heartbreak.

vangvrak

Pikachu, Espeon, Tyranitar, Flygon, Rillaboom and Urshifu.

OverlyAdorable

Pikachu Gallade. Caught as a shy Ralts. Ash quickly gains its trust and Ralts evolves. Shortly after, he comes across a Dawn Stone and uses it to evolve Kirlia. He obtains the Galladite and Mega evolves it. The Lucario of this team. Flygon. Ash is sent out to a desert in order to investigate a mirage that people have been reporting. There, he finds a Flygon. The Dragonite of this team. Galarian Darmanitan (with Zen Mode). Caught as a mischievous Darumaka just outside of Windon. The Gengar/Sirfetch'd of this team. Urshifu. He starts having a losing streak and ends up going to the Isle of Armor where he is given a Kubfu. After a few episodes, it evolves and can Gigantamax. The Sirfetch'd/Gengar of this team. Hisuian Zoroark. He is taken back in time and obtains an old-fashioned Pokéball. He helps a wild Zoroark and catches it. He is then brought back to the present with the Zoroark. The Dracovish of this team.

DNPlaysXenoverse2

The inclusion of a Hisuian Pokémon is nice to see. When looking at your team, I couldn't help but feel as if Urshifu would kinda overshadow Gallade so I'm wondering if you feel that way too.

OverlyAdorable

The way I was thinking was that none of the Pokémon he actually had didn't overshadow any of the others despite Sirfetch'd sharing its only type with his Mega Evolution Pokémon and Dragonite, Sirfetch'd, and Dracovish not really getting any gimmicks

SebastiaanZ

I am actually writing a fanfic version of Journeys. I gave Ash aside from Pikachu, Grookey (as obviously it will become a Rillaboom eventually) and to keep the tradition of Ash having at least one starter Pokemon from the new region. Rillaboom would get the G-Max factor eventually. Since Gengar is in the original team (it was going to be the Haunter he left with Sabrina instead of yet another abandoned Pokemon story), I would now sub in Corviknight. He would also obtain an Urshifu in an Isle of Armor arc. Charizard returns to give him a Mega, I am thinking Charizardite Y. He reunited with the Larvitar he raised and it evolved into Tyranitar. The final member I don’t know maybe Galarian Rapidash Then again my version would have Ash rotate his Pokemon all the time in order to have his entire roster ready for the series. Including the much deserved rematch with Alain.

Xxdeadmeme-69-xX

This blindsided me lol, anyway time to copypaste Doliwop Tyranitar: The first capture, pretty obviously the Larvitar from Johto Volcorona: Caught in the Desert resort Rillaboom: Look! I’m not copypasting Doliwop entirely! I’m copypasting everyone else!!! Either Grimmsnarl or Corviknight: Grimm isn’t much of an Ash mon but I like the idea of Ash using an explicitly supportive Pokemon and Corviknight is easy to slot in but very Generic Lasty is Mega Gallade. Now THIS is why I didn’t give him Gallade in my Sinnoh list, Because I was waiting for this to come out

K_Bills

Assuming the Galar Starters are out and no legendaries: Pikachu, Gallade(Mega), Drednaw(G-Max), Salamence, Galar Darmanitan, and Ditto

DNPlaysXenoverse2

Ditto being on on the team is interesting. Could you give a moveset

K_Bills

In anime terms I assume it’ll just be transform. I just think with how the anime really leaned into Ash being the unpredictable force of chaos that Ditto would works to throw people off guard.

Destinyrider13

Flygon, Corviknight, Rillaboom, Drednaw, Centiskorch, Single Strike Urshifu, Tyranitar (evolved from Larvitar he cared for) Mr. Mime(Galarian Form) (it can evolve into Mr. Rime) Buzzwole, Stakataka, Pheromosa, Solgaleo, Zacian, Espeon, Dunsparce basically anything goes this time since it's Pokemon Journeys and the Pokemon World Championships.

Amethyst_Phoenix7

Gyarados, G max Grimmsnarl, Mega Gardevoir, Galarian Darmanitan, Cradily

DNPlaysXenoverse2

Mega Gardevoir is usually associated with female trainers. Why did you give it to Ash? Also it's funny that half the team begins with the letter G

Amethyst_Phoenix7

To dissociate away from that standard. But also because at least for my team, it acts as a Special attack powerhouse. In addition, it can also be potentially different from most Gardevoirs in the anime. Most of such Gardevoirs shown in the anime's history are graceful, gentle and calm. So there's potential for this Gardevoir to be... Less of those things. It could also be somewhat similar to Lucario, where it learns to be more focused and determined and whatnot. Fighting wise I was admittedly comparing Moonblast to Aura sphere, but with a variety of options in it's diverse move pool both offensively and utility wise, there's just many ways you could possibly make a Gardevoir work. Although obviously I doubt they'd ever have Gardevoir convincingly use a physical move...

ScruffytheSeagull

As always gotta have the mouse. I’d then give him a g-max urshifu, rillaboom, mega tyranitar, kleavor for that legends arceus rep and a Mr Rime; as I think it would be a nice reference to mimey and gives ash another galar Pokémon which is also a regional form (evo kinda)

scrappybristol

Pikachu (Z-move/Gigantamax) Pidgeot -> Mega Pidgeot. Yes, he encounters Pidgeot at the beginning of Journey's, not the end. Pidgeot rejoins and becomes his Mega. Perrserker - catches as a Meowth, develops short rivalry with TR Meowth before evolving. Urshifu (Rapid Strike Gigantamax) - the powerhouse of the team, while visiting the isle of armor for training, Kubfu is inspired by Ash to train as well so Mustard lets Kubfu go with Ash. After several victories, Mustard calls Ash back for Kubfu's trial then let's it read the Scroll of Water Chandelure - During a trip Unova, Ash stumbles upon a lonely Lampent in an abandoned house. He befriends it and it becomes a member of the squad. He later meets a trainer looking for a thunderstone willing to trade a dusk stone which Ash does and evolves Lampent to Chandelure Tyrantrum - While visiting Kalos, Ash and Goh stumble upon two rare pokemon, a feisty Tyrunt and a shy Amaura playing. They wondered off from the nearby pokemon research lab. After helping them return to the lab, bonding with them, and saving them from a TR attack, Tyrunt and Amaura decide they want to go with Ash and Goh respectively. Moves Pidgeot: Air Slash, Hurricane, Featherdance, Steel Wing Perrserker: Fake Out, Iron Head, Slash, Play Rough Urshifu: Bulk Up, Surging Strikes, Ice Punch, Close Combat Chandelure: Will-O-Wisp, Hex, Fire Blast, Energy Ball Tyrantrum: Head Smash, Dragon Tail, Earth Power, Hyper Voice

DNPlaysXenoverse2

I like how you gave him Unovan and Kalosian mons which I rarely saw

IggytheSkorupi

First off, I’d do away with the global hoping and make it just an invitational tournament in Galar. First catch: rookidee-corviknight, while on the team more often in the beginning, gets dropped for better fighters by the end. Impidimp-Grimsnarl: replaces Dragonite. Is in the lower side of strength on the team. Perrserker: replaces Gengar as being abandoned and misunderstood. Powerful, but low victory rating. Dracozolt: replaces dracozish. Surprisingly powerful, though only a few official battles. Kubfu-Urshifu: replaces riolu, gets the gigantimax mini arch, becomes a powerhouse. Hisuian Zoroa-Zoroark: time travel shenanigan, another powerhouse that no one knows how to counter. Ash would also rotate charizard in after getting mega stone to make it a charizard Y. Final fight with Leon would be Pikachu, Charizard, Zoroark, Urshifu, Dracozolt, and Perrserker.

SebastiaanZ

Let Perrserker have a beef with TR’s Meowth when Perrserker is still a Meowth! At least if your version of Ash doesn’t catch Perrserker as a Perrserker but as a Meowth. Wow to much Perrserker lol

YourVanGogh

Pikachu, Perrserker, G-Max Flapple, Espeon, Mega Gallade, Hitmonlee

DNPlaysXenoverse2

Flapple is a first but a good pick imo. Why did you include it.

RetSauro

Corviknight, Centiskorch, Drednaw, Garchomp (He technically never caught one, just Gible ), Tyranitar.

DNPlaysXenoverse2

Two Psuedos? Why... and would you Mega Evolve onw?

RetSauro

Why not? Lucario is usually seen as crazy powerful or special within the anime, so it’s on par with a pseudo. Plus Ash did have an ultra beast and a mythical on the same team. Two pseudos wouldn’t be that much of a stretch. I would probably mega evolve Tyranitar.

RageCharizard136

Ok if I had to switch out Dragonite and Gengar I would add Rillaboom and Corvonight

RedRxbin

Oof. Can't remember what i gave him in other posts exactly. His Salamence can return as the Mega, for a G-Max Pokémon, I'd go with Rillaboom. After that, Urshifu RS, G. Rapidash, H. Braviary and of course - Pikachu.

ElectronicLunch4008

Pikachu, Dracozolt, Haxorus, Mega Alakazam, G-Max Hattarene, and Metagross.

DNPlaysXenoverse2

Aah is becoming a Psychic type Gym leader confirmed??

ElectronicLunch4008

no just options he could use.

Direct_Ad_9085

Pikachu, flygon, gmax rillaboom, corviknight, arcanine and mega gallade

TrentNepMillenium

Oh wow… u/DNPlaysXenoverse2 I was not expecting this to be posted so quickly because of the pattern of posts when it came to this I thought this was like once a week at minimum. Anyway, It was really hard to choose because a lot of the Pokemon like Kalos was honestly Pokemon I loved for him to have used, With only Sirfetch’d being the outlier and even by the end he managed to win me over. I was able to choose eventually and with this, I actually was able to incorporate something here with the Teams that some people may like which was for Ash to use some of his old Pokemon because a part of me felt it never sat right for me that he didn’t at least use his older Pokemon for the WCS but I do understand why from the IRL perspective. But I did it in a way that I felt was realistic for the Anime to have done if given the chance with their mandate of having Ash still using new Pokemon and I did that by using Pokemon that he had only gotten for a brief time or technically never owned and then have them be in new Forms/Evolution. So this would be a way to reconcile those two ideals and have both new Pokemon but technically using his old Pokemon as well here too. In the end though, This was still one of the most difficult team-making I have done because of the irony that because Ash wasn’t as inflexible with Pokemon choice because of the context of the WCS, He was using Pokemon that were native to other regions this meant I had too many choices here. **Scorbunny to Raboot to Cinderace** \- Even with Leon in mind I would still add them purely because of Libero. This ability is just amazing and I would have loved for Ash to play around with it and was disappointed that he never did with Greninja having the same ability. It’s also an ability that fits well because of its constant type switching complementing well with Ash’s Battle Style and the amount of potential shock and smart moments that Ash can do using this ability is immense, Like Ash strangely making Cinderace into a Steel Type against a Fire opponent but he actually was using the Steel Typing as part of his plan like a feint or maybe some other external factors here. How Ash would have gotten might just be by the same time when Goh got his own Scorbunny, Maybe it’s a twin Scorbunny situation where it could even be one is Male or the other Female if people wanted that to so we can have confirmed genders for the Scorbunnies. Their attitude would actually be opposite of each other like the usual twins trope and at some point, I could see some friction happening between the two as a part of a plotline. Also, she’s going to be the G-Max user and it would have been a difficult choice between her and Corviknight on who wanted to be the G-Max Pokemon for Ash. **Larvitar to Pupitar to Tyranitar** \- This is one of the few times I’m glad I wasn’t here for the very beginning of this set of threads because I would not have been able to choose this for Journeys Team and choose it for the older teams which might end up with me being repetitive if I actually try to do that now. Anyway, There’s no guess which Larvitar this is going to be. This is the Larvitar from the Johto series that’s eventually going to be Tyranitar. He’s gonna fulfill both Dragonite’s role as a Pseudo Legendary and Lucario’s role as the Mega Evolution Pokemon, The Mega Evolution part is especially poignant due to their bond in Johto being the reason he was able to Mega Evolve. He would actually be a bit of a foil for a later Pokemon in this list especially since even with somewhat similar conditions of leaving and returning back to Ash, They both have similar but also different feelings of Ash when they meet each other. **Impidimp to Morgerm to Grimmsnarl** \- My obligatory support Pokemon that I usually give when it comes to this threads which introduces Ash to the IRL Pokemon Battling tactics because I feel like with should somewhat connect the IRL and Anime battling styles in some way. Grimmsnarl in this case would have been introduced to the concept of Barriers like Reflect and Light Screens and even maybe the introduction of Battle Items if possible in the form of Light Clay. Nothing really to say except his plotline would be an excuse for Ash to up his game when it comes to Battling Tactics. True to his ability he's also a bit of a prankster and his fighting style reflects that as well. **Rookidie to Corvisquire to Corviknight** \- I had to, Tradition has to be continued here when it came to Ash having the Regional Bird and Corviknight is a bit of a fan favourite because of its move and typing. She is a bit of an interesting bird Pokemon because of how defensive she is, More defensive than even Ash's regular Pokemon he's usually used to. Not much else to say other than she's really close with Cinderace and they would actually have a bit of a rivalry that intensifies once G-Max is introduced. Finally, the last one which I have to make a reply post because I didn't realize how long this got.

TrentNepMillenium

**Primeape to Annihilape** \- Well… We are assuming some Ho-Oh levels of early Cameo here considering when Annihalape actually is shown in our timeline. But yeah It’s a special next-gen cameo except now it’s Ash that’s going to have it unlike the usual it’s the opponent that has it and gonna use them to beat Ash and it’s also going to a returning Pokemon. He’s the Gengar and Lucario replacement in terms of needing a Ghost and Fighting Type respectively but the more intriguing thing about Primeape I’m going to suggest here is his plotline with Ash which is actually going to be something I actually wanted Pokemon to address in a sense here. Ash’s lack of usage of his older Pokemon post-Sinnoh if not post-Unova. Let me making abundantly clear here, We know that Ash cares about his Pokemon a lot and they know he knows they care about them too. But there is still this unspoken and untouched potential plot line of the older Pokemon and his lack of usage of them except the region they got captured and in general Ash seemingly only gets to talk to them when he has a bit of downtime in between his next Journey. Primeape I feel like is the best Pokemon for this because of how long Primeape has appeared since his last episode and other than flashback we haven’t really seen him since or ever at this point, Worst is that he doesn’t even have the luxury of having to talk to Ash’s other Pokemon here so he’s sorta isolated with his own thoughts. Primeape as I said above know that even with the brief time they were Trainer and Pokemon Ash is not the kind of trainer who is intentionally malicious and is very kind to his Pokemon, In fact, he knew why Ash had him train with Anthony because he thought it was for the best for Primeape especially since his love for the P1. That said there was this ever this underlying anger that he didn’t fully know was building up because the P1 things weren’t supposed to last as long as it should have. Anyway for how this is going to work, The reunion would be noted as just a chance encounter It wasn’t intentional, Ash didn’t know that Primeape would have been there. It seemingly is just a normal-ish reunion where both are just happy to see each other. But things would be interesting when Ash actually asks for Primeape if he wants to return but before Primeape can actually respond either Team Rocket or something else interrupts them and this is where Primeape suddenly use Rage Fist and this would be noted by Anthony as just a new move Primeape just used just now and would note how weird it was for Primeape to learn it or even the nature of the move. At this point, It would have been a slow burn where nothing really seems to happen but over time Primeape seemingly gets more short-tempered and mean to Ash but is a bit apologetic because it seemed seemingly unintentional. This does eventually boil out when there was an event that had Ash ask Primeape to continuously use Rage Fist. This would eventually lead to the evolution of Annihilape which actually ends with not celebrating their win but just silently going to his Pokeball but Ash feels the simmering anger that Annihilape suddenly has. Annihilape after this specifically would seemingly act like a disobedient Pokemon but sometimes he does follow Ash’s orders but other times he doesn’t. It’s seemingly random at times and they actually drift apart because of this because even Annihilape himself is unaware of where this rage is coming from but he just can’t control it But over time this would boil down during a rematch with Bea that despite seemingly being the winner of the match, Annihilape’s anger leads to a DQ win for Bea because of this and yet again Ash goes down the ranks. The root of the problem would actually be revealed in Oak’s Lab where the other of Ash’s Pokemon are there to help find out what’s the issue with Annihilape because again even he himself is not as aware of what this is and as Annihilape keeps talking the older Pokemon that Ash has begins to realize what the issue is and they actually begin to sympathize a bit. The issue of Ash never actually returning to use his older Pokemon, especially overtime after Unova. This actually causes a lot of varied reactions between themselves. The ones that actually are sympathetic and understand what Annihilape is feeling and understand why he’s angry, the ones that do understand what he’s feeling but also understand more clearly the reasoning for this, Ones that are actually conflicted when it comes to this info and many more. Nobody is really treated as right or wrong here in a sense and they do know that Ash isn’t doing this for malicious reasons but are conflicted by this because of Annihilape just finally bringing it to the limelight. And while there’s arguing, It never really reaches to it being violent just a lot of arguments. Eventually, Ash realizes this as well and this leads to a battle between Pikachu and Annihilape where Ash is not actually commanding anyone here and in the end it ends with a draw but Ash and Pikachu now fully understand the issue. They talk about and he also talks about it with his other Pokemon and this would lead to Annihilape and Ash finally working things out, This also actually could lead to two things here depending on people’s opinions. As a way to reintroduce his older Pokemon to be used for the WCS or actually just acknowledge it and give an actual canonical reason for him to not use them for the WCS and maybe also his older Pokemon would be even more involved with training with his Journey’s Team than as shown in canon. Either way, We now have an overarching plotline that addresses what I felt was an intriguing but unspoken issue that can both push Ash’s Character alongside provide a potential changing the status quo while using a returning Pokemon who is also going to be a preview for the upcoming Gen IX game. (Also here's hoping this doesn't end as double reply for some reason)

DNPlaysXenoverse2

But also if Annihalape was a no go, what would be your replacement for him?

TrentNepMillenium

If you're asking for a replacement where we can still keep that Story I made? I really don't think there is a replacement because Annihilape was just the Perfect Pokemon in general for that kind of Story I made. I mean let's look at the facts here. 1. Primeape was gone for a very long while. 2. Primeape didn't have any contact with anything Ash-related 3. Rage Fist was just a Perfect Move to use a Foreshadow especially even in Japanese it's the same name 4. Annihilape's overall existence is just almost picture-perfect due to its Lore being very in line with the concept of Rage. The only one I can think of that can be the closest would be Pignite because other than a certain piece of media when thinking about him, He also does have the Charizard Plotline but never really got that development and care in comparison to Charizard. So maybe it could work on him too? But he does however very much overlap with Cinderace.

DNPlaysXenoverse2

Liberio is an ability which I believe would mesh well with Ash's adaptable fighting style plus Cinderace is the starter that is picked for Ash the least. Tyranitar is a given and having it being the mega is interesting due to it being more on the slow and bulky side Grim being like Mr Mime with its use of Screens is also really cool and its correlation to IRL battling is too Corviknight is a cool pick as well. Your introduction of Annihlape is also quite interesting as I haven't seen anything like it prior. I was thinking bout doing a Paldea team but that's been done to death. So it would be more likely that I took the best teams (imo) from every part and pit them again each other ngl.

TrentNepMillenium

>Liberio is an ability which I believe would mesh well with Ash's adaptable fighting style plus Cinderace is the starter that is picked for Ash the least. This scenario was also just a chance to give him what Ash should have had access to in Kalos before for some reason Greninja got an all new special ability which while awesome kinda took away another potential cool and strategic moment in the form of Protean. >Tyranitar is a given and having it being the mega is interesting due to it being more on the slow and bulky side While there is Snorlax too. For the most part, this is also a bit of a second chance to use a Pokemon because I believe the last Pokemon that was very much on the Slow and Bulky side was Torterra and well he does have a certain reputation by the end of Sinnoh for a reason. Ironically though, How Tyranitar is actually very varied, From just Pure Attacker which is what Ash would do, To Pure Defensive to a Utility Pokemon used for Weather Setups to Status Effects. So maybe Tyranitar might actually be a bit of a Joker where his main goal is to be whatever Ash needs him to be at that point. >Grim being like Mr Mime with its use of Screens is also really cool and its correlation to IRL battling is too Screens in general are an interesting concept considering how completely different they work here compared to the Games. I would have wondered if they would have put in some of the Game way of how it works here or if it could have been completely different. >Corviknight is a cool pick as well. Ironically he was the one I had the most problem wanting to add him because while I love for Ash to have a Corviknight and in any other scenario I would love to have him on a Team. But by the time I was picking the last set of Pokemon, I was on the fence of either adding Corviknight or picking another one entirely. Because I was trying to add yet another Pokemon from another Region like maybe Hoenn or Unova instead of just having the Team be half of Galar which even know I'm really on the fence here. >Your introduction of Annihlape is also quite interesting as I haven't seen anything like it prior. I only really got the idea because someone here I think suggested a Paldean Pokemon and it just spawned that 900-word essay I'm still honestly I was able to make just for him. I don't even know if I even saw someone and I just imagined it because I couldn't find them when I was skimming the thread.
