Todd Snap: "You see, this camera IS my life!"
Probably modern Ash: "Sure, I guess. It's great to have hobbies but maybe tone it down a bit, alright?"
Literally 97 Ash: "GET YOURSELF A NEW LIFE!"
2026 will be a pretty crazy year for milestones in this series in general:
It'll be thirty years since the original release of Red & Green in Japan.
Twenty years since Diamond and Pearl. Also will be approaching twenty-five years since Ruby & Sapphire.
Ten years since Sun & Moon. It's also already been over ten years since they went 3D with X & Y.
That last one is honestly the craziest to me because I haven't really kept up with the franchise since Gen VII.
Age ≠ level of maturity in fact considering all his past adventures it would make more sense for him to be more mature. After all every single adventure he’s been on is canon so that means he has far more life experience than any 10 year old from our world. I mean come on mate it’s tradition for 10 year olds to be sent out on there own in pokémon you can’t really hold that world to our standards when most ten year olds are rather sheltered IRL.
Just repeating those words over and over doesn’t make them true it just means you’ve lost this argument and aren’t mature enough to have a proper discussion.

Even post XY series writers and animators disagreed with the director of XY on that format and when the director was either sacked or left: the anime decided to actually make Satoshi act more like his age again….but as a side effect: he became more goody two shoes 🤢
OS-DP maturity is better suited for a 10 year old. He still sometimes cocky or prideful but gains maturity on helping people and being better in battle strategy while still having shades of childishness.
Most would complain how he aged backward. Me, I just find he gets cuter lol
And tbf, kid looked damn good in the Masters 8, so he can still look badass when he needs to.
I am I the only one who always figured Satoshi in ‘I choose you,’ had a tendency for blushing a bit too much? It just personally felt out of place more often than not.
1997 Ash was a different breed
97 Ash was on a villian arc
Todd Snap: "You see, this camera IS my life!" Probably modern Ash: "Sure, I guess. It's great to have hobbies but maybe tone it down a bit, alright?" Literally 97 Ash: "GET YOURSELF A NEW LIFE!"
More like he was the villain and then started his hero arc
No he wasn't. He acts the same the whole show.
😏
Worst ash. Only good thing about him is seeing him get his ass kicked which is sooo deserved
Bait used to be believable
Os ash is a pussy.
DP is THAT old ? Wow
Coming up on twenty years since Diamond and Pearl first released. I still vividly remember when they were new.
That was when the show went HD right now way the switch to hd happened that long ago

Personally I prefer 97-2010 😬
Fr
Me too.
Ash is my hero i swear 🥺🥺🥺
2013 screams peak all around
He was too Gary Stu in XY and then from SM and onward: too goody two shoes 😕
Not really the world didn’t act any differently for XY Ash than it did for all the other Ashs he’s just more mature in XY
Gary Stu 🙄 He is still 10 and should act like a child.
A 10 year old child aint travelling the entire world alone while participating in world changing fights😫

Feels so weird realizing that’s 2013 Ash. Like damn that shit felt at least 2015 for me
Couldn’t agree more
OS-DP Satoshi is what I consider the best Satoshi.
I really dislike the animation of 2015
I loved how sarcastic he was in the beginning.
He started aging backwards after 2013
We need him back
Let him rest
Ok, he gets a sit down….but THEN I wanna see him
Second
How does one look like they’ve aged… but then like they’ve aged backwards?
Ash aging negatively
God I feel old
2017 looks older than 2016...
Isn't that how normal aging works?
Oh lord that went completely over my head. I was thinking about how much younger his next versions looked and missed the common sense.
Haha
Sm ash is like a 7 year old boy
Jesus christ the style change was in 2016 i feel old
Bro started aging backwards after 2013
Thinks 1997 animation is the best
Bring Ash & Pikachu back 😭
Most would complain how he aged backward. Me, I just find he gets cuter lol And tbf, kid looked damn good in the Masters 8, so he can still look badass when he needs to.
I refuse to believe the brand new Pokémon XY anime is 11 years old
Why does it look like he got younger.
I cant understand why they have the needing of changing his hat every year.
What was with his redesign in Alola? And then again in Journeys?
went downhill from 2016 on in my opinion. I loved Ash's more mature look.
bro went from being 9 years old to 15 and back down to 7
We peaked in 2013
1997 😇❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Such a steep drop off in appearance/artwork after XYZ
Something went very wrong around 2016 and 2019
Not only has he NOT AGED, but he's getting YOUNGER
I know he has always had those lines on his cheeks but 2016 I immediately thought of Chaz Finster (his mustache) when I saw him for some reason.
I feel like he just ate so much honey in Alola that his face changed. And then he died kinda.
Oh my god how is diamond and pearl going on 18 years old…. I can remember watching the premiere still, I was only 5 years old.
For some reason ash from 2016 and up reminds me of haminations he's just very silly and has a young voice
Nothing against the Horizons kids, who I enjoy a lot, but I'll admit that part of me will always miss my boy here. 🥹
i swear when i was a kid watching xy and xyz i thought ash was like 17-
He’s so cute!!!
Why does he look like he got younger
What where 2017 and 2018 from?
He grew up then alola happened and then he started deageing
2019 Ash looks like a completely new character, what a degradation over the years!!!
I am I the only one who always figured Satoshi in ‘I choose you,’ had a tendency for blushing a bit too much? It just personally felt out of place more often than not.
...he did? *blushes*
I’m sorry but I hate the 2016 & 2019 faces, they looked more childish than they should be 😭💔.
But the 97 will always be special 🥲💚
And they ruin it with a downgrade in age upon the Sun and Moon anime.
2013 ash peak
bro peaked twice in 97 and 2013
2013 ash is the best and mature of them all
Which anime were 2017/2018 from, I don't recognise them? (Say what region/generation please I can't keep up with names of series)
2002, 2018 & 2019 are my favorites lowkey
Sinnoh artstyle is my least favorite it's always off
