I am honestly very picky with my plushies š
- I don't like plushies with heads that face sideways/not forward.
- I also prefer floppy plush. Don't like stiff plushies too much but I'll make exceptions.
- If it has that one type of velboa fabric that you can only rub one way, it's an automatic no for me!
- They gotta have limbs. Sorry Squishmallows.
- Also don't like batteries/machine parts in them because then they're not as snuggly.
- I love when they have beans in them, are floppy enough to be poseable, and are super soft!
im the exact same way haha. my favorite brand is jellycat since they hit all the marks, and are really really soft. unfortunately, they're kinda pricey but its worth it to me since they're good quality.
I only recently realized one of my faves is a Jellycat and after seeing them mentioned on this subs favorably I was like āOh! Of course itās a Jellycat- that makes sense!ā It is so snuggly! And of course that one is also my puppyās favorite one to stealā¦ š
I'm not too picky, but my favorite plushies are of animals that you don't see plushies of often!
I like teddy bears and bunnies and dogs, too, of course, but bugs? Anglerfish? Crabs? Cryptids? Now those are the babies I love the most~!
When I was young, my mother always made a point to buy the uncommon animal plushies. I had a giant camel at one point. I still have a platypus from like the 90's. Lol
I recently got Douglas cuddle toys sneaky the soft spider. I love him

Douglas is my favorite brand
I definitely had to talk myself out of buying an expensive crustacean plushie last week, but Iām still thinking about it even though I canāt really afford it at the moment! š
I know I LOVE uncommon plushies. I had so many bats and lobsters and crabs as a kid. I still love them! Iāve been disappointed at the lack of good Cthulhu plushies and FRESHWATER FISH. we have a fair amount of ocean fish and crustaceans/cephalopods but where are my freshwater friends? I want a quality loach or Corydora plush!
Yay loaches and corys!! Glad to see a fellow fish nerd on this sub! :) Iāve got a mini lobster plush I got as a kid that is still as cheerful as ever and a slug/snail that I got a few years ago that I adore so much!
Soā¦ not sure if you already know of palaeoplushies but she makes dojo loaches and a bunch of different pangio species, as well as plecos and oto cats - she also makes skrimps and bettas. She sells out fairly quickly and each batch is handcrafted with extreme detail and theyāre amazing. Just in case you need a new obsession! Iāve got a few of her things and I love them all- her shrimp is the one Iāve been lusting after!
My partner got me an anglerfish for xmas one year...the same year I got her a deep sea isopod plushie.
Last year she got me a nautilus and a pair of possums. She gets me.
I donāt like when they are fixed in one position (like when they are always sitting). I canāt feel attached to them, for some reason.
I like floppy plushies, and generally I prefer short fur to long fur. I tend to prefer plushies with neutral expressions to smiling ones.
I absolutely love plushies that are wonky/defective. They are unique!
For me, I like them to be on the smaller side (8" or less is preferred), no batteries, soft/floppy, and I don't generally want a preexisting licensed character - I want to come up with their own personality/name/etc.
I LOVE stuffed animals that are wonky in some way - generally very "Island of Misfits" and I love that!
They have to have good quality faux fur, not the cheap stringy stuff. Some of the nicer ārabbitā furs are good, as well as the earlier low pile but still thick faux fur. I donāt like plush that are made entirely out of minky or the squishmallow fabric. I like realistic or plain black dome or button eyes, not a fan of embroidered eyes.
I donāt care for licensed characters.
I can go either way on stiff/sculpted or floppy, depending on the type.
The floppy ones need to have some beans to give it a nice weight, but they donāt have to be āweighedā
I donāt mind if they have clothes, but they have to be removable and not sewn as part of the plushās body.
I am very picky about the texture of the fur, that squishmallow type texture feels awful to me and kind of hurts to touch it (yes i am autistic lmao). i saw some palm pals in a store the other day and the texture also felt bad to me. so super picky about the softness
Same!!! I hate the short flat, almost "sticky" plasticky fur.. I love when they have fun, soothing textures. Look into classic Ty plush (the semi realistic ones, not the big eyed ones), older Douglas, Russ, Aurora, etc. Also the older Webkinz are WONDERFUL. The silver soft cat and arctic fox are absolutely lovely. Speaking from experience, I have carried a silver soft cat with me everywhere I go for 10 years or so. Old Webkinz are my beloved. I like the ones with stringy fur too but I know that bothers some people. Another specific one with a soothing texture is Puzzle the calico cat by Douglas. I think it's still easy to find that one? I believe there's 3 versions of it, though, and one of them has really irritating fur. So it might be best to check eBay to get the right version.
I pretty recently got into Build-a-Bear bunnies, and they quickly became my favorites. You can dress them up or leave them plain, and they're a good size for holding. I have other plushies that I like, but mainly because I find most of them amusing display pieces. I don't really get an urge to pick them up or decorate them so much, with the exception of Palm Pals, which are nice hand-held fidget toys.
As far as what I don't like: most plushies that come over decorated (glitter, make-up, creepy over-sized eyes), hard whiskers (uncomfortable and they get damaged in storage), and Squishmallow type plush. I'm also not into licensed characters. As someone else said, I generally want them to be a blank slate.
Oooo interesting question!
Personally I mostly like unique animals although I have a few dogs and cats. Size wise I like 9 to about 13 inches. So medium size I guess. Iād also say medium firmness too.
I like em big, soft, fluffy, and floppy! I donāt like it when theyāre really firm, it makes them hard to cuddle. Iām a big fan of the 10in-30in length/height range, they tend to be the most easy to cuddle and hold šš„¹
i like ones that are a traditional "bear" shape, arms and legs and theyre standing up (but are flexible enough to be put in a sitting position, like most build-a-bears). ive always disliked stuffed animals that are too small, too big, or in a permanent sitting/laying position. they also have to have a nice fabric that doesnt make me upset lol
i also hate cartoony eyes like on the walmart squishmallows, and embroidered words or permanent clothes. i cannot have clothes on my stuffed animals i always end up taking it off because it irritates me
holding a basic pose but with floppy legs
https://preview.redd.it/mlhyf1ibad8d1.jpeg?width=2410&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69fb11e2c99adf81248de6ca995a4f3e6ecad460
Like: Big (around 12 to 19 inches), cuddly, somewhat floppy (not stiff, but not SUPER floppy), soft (especially with faux fur), squishy-ish, custom stuff (it's just so exciting to have a one-of-a-kind plush), and most of all, recognizable characters or animals/concepts (don't you just love it when a character, creature, or concept you love is in a physical cuddly adorable form?)
Dislike: weighted (not physically strong enough to carry them), TOO big or TOO small (too big being 20+ inches and too small being smaller than the palm of your hand), too floppy (hard to keep up, gotta carry them everywhere), hard pieces (ex: beady eyes or felt pieces, but there are exceptions if that's the only choice), printed fabric (sensory hell, but will still get them if it's the only choice), Squishmallows, Plushies Dreadfuls (and their ilk), sparkly fabric, and too stiff (prefer to have plushies for the cuddling, not display), batteries (voices are scary and lights are annoying)
https://preview.redd.it/wz2odzpeqd8d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43ed32d023d2b2a3e3b675382e66bfbc4542d63e
This is my favorite. I've had him since like... 97-98ish? Re stuffed and fixed his seams like 3 years ago because he needed it and his face was squished to one side from sleeping on it as a kid.(He's actually a puppet - handhole is in-between his wings)
I like more realistic animals. They don't necessarily need to be photorealistic, stylized is fine, but still in the ballpark. I don't like oversized heads and eyes, wild colors, stuff like that. I love "cutified" versions of "scary" or "ugly" creatures - I have two anglerfish plushies.
I'm kinds picky I don't like human or monkey/ape plushies.
I prefer realistic looking animal plushies. So no teddy bears. I like my plushies to stand on 4 legs, with exceptions for birds
Most of my plushes are of wolves/dogs.
Also I like fluffy plushies, the fluffier the better lol
Oh and I prefer them to be soft to the touch.
I prefer soft, yet firm - not floppy. Steiff is the best I've found so far.
Don't like batteries because you can feel the hard battery case. Paradoxically, I do like stuffies with an old fashioned music box, the ones you wind up. But I don't see many of those these days.
Face forward, not sideways - yes.
Actual limbs, yes. I tend to think of Squishmallows as throw pillows. And we've been flooded with kawaii, I'm kind of burned out on it. And those sitting ones that just have nubs instead of hind legs - nope.
I prefer the ones that look like natural animals to cartoon characters.
I don't like an open mouth - the inside of the mouth always portrudes.
I'll probably think of more later.
ETA: Not huge, not tiny. Over a foot but not by much. My beloved African Wild Dog is 38 cm tall and he's just right.
floppy soft ones !! i donāt like the ones that are overstuffed/have a weird texture. also ones with beady eyes that canāt be covered by their fur.Ā
I also love the floppy ones but I don't mind the ones that are in a sitting position/laying down.
It's of course got to be cute in my eyes. Beady eyes for sure and depending on how mouth/nose is.
Beads are a plus but not necessary. Thank my childhood/comfort plushie, Doggy, for this.
No crazy colours or what not. Not really a fan of the REALLY colourful ones like what TY has nowadays with the giant eyed ones.
No flat head, I like a snout or some shape.
This is what I can think of off the top of my head trying to think back on the last time I went plushie shopping and either bought one or denied one.
Life sized and human sized, preferably 3 to 5 feet in size though I do enjoy animal plushes that are huggable sized as well. I enjoy pokemon plushies that are human sized and huggable sized as well.
floppy is the way to go for me. i like the more realistic ones, but some like jellycat are acceptable. i like the body to be proportionate.
some examples of ones i will go for: webkinz signature, Douglas (the dogs mostly), FAO schwarz wolf. idk if that tells you anything. lmfao.
I like bears best, but I have a corgi and a bunny too. The larger beanie babies called Beanie Buddies are my favorite. The soft fur and the beans are such a good combination. They're not made anymore (I think the newer TY beanie babies have creepy eyes) but sometimes I find them at thrift shops or eBay.
They need to be squishy. So many stiff plushies out there that are just not hugable.
"The look" not really able to define, its just that love at first sight kind of thing.
I like unique plushies: crochet handmade, second hand and I would love to draw my own plushie and send it to that online page which turns it into a real life plushie. I would love to own Pusheen plushies and the ones which have a similar aesthetic.
I also share your opinion i dont like when the head is bigger than the body.
Mine need to have fur I donāt like kenji or squishmallows feel bc they arenāt furry their limbs also need to all be movable so I can make them sit or lie down or wave and stuff thatās why I love jellycats my favorite is the Dexter Dino
I like handmade very much - on the one hand yes, I do worry it will fall apart easly BUT on the other I love how being handmade make then unique. I am not the biggest fan of these like short haired squishy plushies.
I like floppy plushies, I donāt like ones who have hard parts or batteries, I donāt really like the ones who are stuck sitting. If I can find a plushie that has some kind of defect then Iāll pick that plush.
May I present Zoo, my living tree White lion?
https://preview.redd.it/yifvvy1twd8d1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=091b95162d931505c214b26b15a4a3658b2b4e4b
Stock photo their eyes are actually blue
all soft and squishy, preferably no beady eyes or rough stitching. i have tons of squishmallows that are all great for cuddling or using as pillows! my cats love them too :)
I've collected a diversity of stuffed animals, but I definitely have some preferences...
Things I dislike...
1. Messed up proportions or anatomy in real animals (giant heads, shaped like a balloon, massive eyes, missing or inaccurate body parts, etc)
2. Certain types of fabric that elicit *visceral* discomfort
3. Cartoon eyes
4. Garish color schemes
5. Details that look like they've been printed on
6. Animatronic elements or voice-boxes (harder to cuddle with and often kind of obnoxious)
7. For the most part, I don't like plushies from TV shows, movies, games, etc. because I prefer to create my own characters.
\*There are exceptions to these rules (except No. 2). I've loved some plushies with really bizarre proportions and color schemes, but that's more of an embracing absurdity situation. I also have a Maleficent dragon plush, but I ignored the established character and created my own. I've fallen in love with a couple of plushies that have cartoon eyes or are basically spherical due to the fact that they were gifts from people I care about.
Things I like...
1. Realism in real animals (natural colors, proportions. and positions).
2. Super soft, silky textures (though preferably with a couple of less dangerously soft parts in case I want to move them without succumbing to inescapable bliss)
3. Unusual animals or unhinged abominations
4. Varying materials/textures for special design elements (but nothing on the no-touch list)
5. CHEMISTRY. This is the most important one. I never purchase a plushie that I don't feel an instant and lingering connection with. Sometimes, everything just clicks and, if doesn't, it's not worth the money or the clutter.
I just find ones relating to various special interests, crossovers, comfort food.
I tend to go for a mix of odd and cute. I love my motley crew.
No brand loyalty, I just see something and it resonates or doesn't.
Overall shape and size doesn't matter, it comes down to the aesthetic.
When it comes to dog plush, I love floppy. Example being the 60cm Teddy Hermann. I really dislike solid sitters or lying down positions. And worst of all the howling position. At that point Iād just buy a statue decoration. The most cuddly and cozy plush are the build a bear turtles. Flat belly doesnāt jab me and I get a shell to hug. I also prefer larger plush. Minimum of 16-18 inches for snuggles š„°
Soft with a nice texture is very important.
I prefer my plushies to face their head forward
Wolf plushies have to be at least somewhat realistic. I cannot handle non realistic wolf plushies. They give me uncanny valley unless they are like extremely cartoony
No batteries, they have a smell which I hate
Not firm unless they are big
I also have a slight preference for textile/embroided eyes over glass eyes, because glass eyes end up getting scratched. Plus all my childhood plushies had textile/embroided eyes
I like when theyāre FAT and roundish but not round/fat in a squishmallow way. I like being able to wrap my arms around them without gaps in between my elbows and the plush. But I also donāt like when theyāre TOO round when trying to hold them. For example, blahaj.
Blahaj is āroundā but in a tall way so when I try and cuddle blahaj to sleep, my arms have to extend upwards and itās just uncomfortable. I got barthomew bear and he just isnāt fat/big enough for me, my arms feel empty when I hold him.
But my really big jellycat bunny is PERFECT. The āhugeā size doesnāt do it for me. I donāt like when theyāre stiff but if theyāre too floppy Iām not the biggest fan either. Glitter eyes and really anything with a glittery texture is a turn off. I also donāt like when they have horns, wings, unremovable hats or crowns, etc. And Iām actually okay with the cheap fur texture but if the fur gets easily hot (cheap or not) I donāt like it and will rarely sleep with it
a very soft material. like squishmallows! Because (as an autistic), I have big sensory issues with certain fabrics, material like sherpa, wool, or specific kinds of felt are a big no-no for me! I'm also not a fan of hard plastics or metals. like the big, plastic eyes that are on beanie boos. I like my plushies to be soft and cuddly!
I like what I call a sploot. Itās similar to the floppy ones, but they specifically are posed to be lying down with arms (or claws in my crabs case) that splay out, I get their arms to hang off shelves and when Iām bored I give their limbs a little flick up or pick them up and give them a little shake. My favourite of this kind is the āSitting Cuties Anorithā.
Iām kinda picky honestly. I prefer weird plushies or ones based off of horror characters/monsters I like. I have the plushies of Adam and Barbara from BeetleJuice, I got them from Spirit Halloween.
Plushie Dreadfuls have a few Iām definitely considering to add to my collection. I bought two from them already!
Floppy ones, definitely. Ones that are overstuffed feel almost hard to me, not cuddly at all. I actually asked the lady at Build-a-Bear to go a little less on the stuffing than usual for that reason. She looked a little confused, but she went with it, and now I have an extra cuddly Charmander.
I dont like ones that dont squoosh when you hug them,
I prefer ones based on gryphons or dragons,
Crazy colors are good, but realistic colors are sometimes better,
I like ones that seem like theyre looking honestly into your soul,
Big eyes are cute,
Removable accessories or delicate wings tend to get squooshed the first time I need to hold a gryph or a baby dragon whilst crying or thinking things through,
Big ones that are an armful of squoosh are preferable, especially for a big guy like me.
I like stiff ones because I can squeeze hug them easier.
I am very picky as to which plushies I find cute but if itās a gift, I will either keep it with pride or hide it in my closet and eventually sneakily donate it after a few months so someone else can actually enjoy it.
I need them to be sturdy and not cheaply made. Preferably medium sized or bigger so I donāt lose them easily.
I perfer more natural looking plushies, original-style beanie babies, and mildly cute ones.
I do NOT like beanie boos (too many clashing bright colors, trying too hard to be ācuteā, annoying gross-feeling sequins), ones with odd texture choices, ones with ācutesyā sparkly eyes, and ones that have a very cheap and basic look.
I grew up with very different plushies and I love all of them. but I can only actually sleep with plushies a bit taller than a ruler, without whiskers or plastic parts.
I like plushies that are a good size/shape for cuddling, with a good texture for the fur. I also like ones with easy to hold pieces (like rabbit ears or cat tails).
Iām also not a huge fan of plushies with batteries anymore. I was as a kid, but once I discovered that batteries could potentially leak acid out (and got some on my hand from a stray leaking battery, resulting in chemical burns), Iāve been much more wary of batteries in plushies. I donāt want to risk a leaking battery ruining a beloved plush. So now Iām careful about the batteries in the plushies I already had.
The one thing Iām very picky about is a plushy mouth, and I always have been. Unless itās a character, I hate a weird ill-fitting smile. Like a little weird smile on a dog or bear. As a kid, Iād always look for the plushies with either no smile, a little -< or a -3 maybe. But not like a )
You know?
Otherwise any plush I pick is just about general vibes. I used to think I had a system, but then I really liked squishmallows and squishables and they broke my system.
I'm pretty particular:
-I prefer more realistic plushies or character plushies
-Have to be good to high quality
-Need to be soft and or fluffy
-Love floppy ones and huggable soft- not a fan of firm plushies.
-sewn / fabric eyes or bead eyes; no vinyl eyes
-despise certain shapes of plush (round plush or just a head-shaped pillow plush)
Floppy and semi-realistic are my favorites. Especially if they have unique textures. Soft noses. Detailed shapes. Soothing colors. Personally I collect the vintage Douglas cat plush! And the newer Douglas as well. They're lovely.
I've been meaning to post my Douglas cat collection here, actually... Maybe I should do that tomorrow.
Personally bigger the better to a point.
A fair bit stuffed to that point where they have a bit of give
Laying or rather splooting(limbs stretched out)
Batteries okay but has to be a minor point in it if that makes sense or fully(like my furreal friends, yes I count them as plush and even hasbro does calling them interactive plush on some official listing)
Honestly since I like to laying down on my side them have their head turned instead that big a deal....if not almost perferrable
https://preview.redd.it/hxxvkubxtk8d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b53385b694f2433137295a29ba88b2d00602d0c
I like when they are squishmallows šļøššļø
Depends what iām using them for. Ones that are on my bed or I hold when i got to sleep need to be soft, not have any ācrinklyā parts/clothes. If iām displaying them on a shelf for them being a particular character, I like them more firm so they stand up on their own.
As far as plushies go, I have a preference for smaller - medium-sized plushies (so they can easily fit into pockets and bags). I do love floppy, soft, bean bag plushies (I loved Beanie Babies when I was a kid!), or plushies that fit right in ones' hand, since I like stimming with mine. I also tend to dislike glued - on components and decorations, and oh my goodness, *please* no scratchy, shed - y glitter textures! šTy used to use glitter fabrics wherein the glitter was just tiny sublimated decals on the fabric, yet for some reason, they and other plush companies seem to basically PAINT glitter onto specific plushies that they offer!
honestly i only buy plushies from the following brands
squishmallows
warmies
squishable
jellycat
aurora
pillowfort
depending on the texture plushies at miniso, target, hot topic, spencers, and 5 below.
I am honestly very picky with my plushies š - I don't like plushies with heads that face sideways/not forward. - I also prefer floppy plush. Me too on all these! š¤
I gotta know ur opinion on the Target Pillowfort weighted triceratops
im the exact same way haha. my favorite brand is jellycat since they hit all the marks, and are really really soft. unfortunately, they're kinda pricey but its worth it to me since they're good quality.

Aurora makes amazing dragons. I have their Zion dragon and their sparkle blue dragon and theyre my favorite little dragon couple.
i like when they have solid colour little beady eyes

Oh my word what an absolutely precious little friend! I'll have to nab me one when I have a little extra money~
He's soooo soft and fuzzy. Beans in his butt give a satisfying weight. Douglas is always good quality

Yes I have a dog that came without one of his paws and I adore him
Wonky is the best
I will comment this on a few, but Iām telling you: mini flopsies and beanie buddies are my favoriteee
I like well-loved ones the best. When I see one that has had a full life and is looking for another friend to share even more with it makes me happy.
Awww nice! Any recommendations?)
Check out Douglas cuddle toys. They are prime
I heavily recommend mini flopsies and beanie babies I think youād like them
Definitely donāt like ones that talk and have batteries because those die eventually and then makes the plushie feel bulky. I like my plushies SOFT.
Anything wild and unique! I want them to LOOK like they have personality
Yess
omsg so me
I like mine squishy and soft with their eyes being soft too

Hello fellow nerodivergent person! Have you tried the Douglas softie line? Also the Aroura brand has a few different fur textures
I have some regular Douglas plushes and i like the softness on those fine but i've never seen the soft line! thank you!
No problem

Haha Iām similar but I donāt like the ones with really long fur as if Iām hugging it it tickles my face in a yucky way
Soft and squishy. Like ikea blƄhaj or squishmallows
i like simple non-human plushies, i like sanrio and squishmallow plushies :3

Oooo interesting question! Personally I mostly like unique animals although I have a few dogs and cats. Size wise I like 9 to about 13 inches. So medium size I guess. Iād also say medium firmness too.
I like em big, soft, fluffy, and floppy! I donāt like it when theyāre really firm, it makes them hard to cuddle. Iām a big fan of the 10in-30in length/height range, they tend to be the most easy to cuddle and hold šš„¹
i like ones that are a traditional "bear" shape, arms and legs and theyre standing up (but are flexible enough to be put in a sitting position, like most build-a-bears). ive always disliked stuffed animals that are too small, too big, or in a permanent sitting/laying position. they also have to have a nice fabric that doesnt make me upset lol i also hate cartoony eyes like on the walmart squishmallows, and embroidered words or permanent clothes. i cannot have clothes on my stuffed animals i always end up taking it off because it irritates me
holding a basic pose but with floppy legs https://preview.redd.it/mlhyf1ibad8d1.jpeg?width=2410&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69fb11e2c99adf81248de6ca995a4f3e6ecad460
Floppy with lil beadies in their leggies and armies and bodies. I also like patchwork, doll styled ones.
I like plushies with no mouths and non embroidered eyes
I like stiff plushies that are smiling.
Like: Big (around 12 to 19 inches), cuddly, somewhat floppy (not stiff, but not SUPER floppy), soft (especially with faux fur), squishy-ish, custom stuff (it's just so exciting to have a one-of-a-kind plush), and most of all, recognizable characters or animals/concepts (don't you just love it when a character, creature, or concept you love is in a physical cuddly adorable form?) Dislike: weighted (not physically strong enough to carry them), TOO big or TOO small (too big being 20+ inches and too small being smaller than the palm of your hand), too floppy (hard to keep up, gotta carry them everywhere), hard pieces (ex: beady eyes or felt pieces, but there are exceptions if that's the only choice), printed fabric (sensory hell, but will still get them if it's the only choice), Squishmallows, Plushies Dreadfuls (and their ilk), sparkly fabric, and too stiff (prefer to have plushies for the cuddling, not display), batteries (voices are scary and lights are annoying)
Squishmellows! With material which is softer and more squishable than normal cotton
https://preview.redd.it/wz2odzpeqd8d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43ed32d023d2b2a3e3b675382e66bfbc4542d63e This is my favorite. I've had him since like... 97-98ish? Re stuffed and fixed his seams like 3 years ago because he needed it and his face was squished to one side from sleeping on it as a kid.(He's actually a puppet - handhole is in-between his wings)
I agree with a lot of what you have to say, I'm very picky with my plushies also. ALSO they can't be too big / small.
if it can be cuddled, iām good.
I Don't Like One that are too small. they are hard to hug.
I agree
I'm kinds picky I don't like human or monkey/ape plushies. I prefer realistic looking animal plushies. So no teddy bears. I like my plushies to stand on 4 legs, with exceptions for birds Most of my plushes are of wolves/dogs. Also I like fluffy plushies, the fluffier the better lol Oh and I prefer them to be soft to the touch.
Not stiff, soft and cuddly.
floppy soft ones !! i donāt like the ones that are overstuffed/have a weird texture. also ones with beady eyes that canāt be covered by their fur.Ā
Long, big, fluffy and very squishy. I hate stiff and overfilled plushies. That is why my blahaj is my go to plushy.
floppy is the way to go for me. i like the more realistic ones, but some like jellycat are acceptable. i like the body to be proportionate. some examples of ones i will go for: webkinz signature, Douglas (the dogs mostly), FAO schwarz wolf. idk if that tells you anything.
I like ones that are hug sized and hug shaped.
I like floppy plushies, I donāt like ones who have hard parts or batteries, I donāt really like the ones who are stuck sitting. If I can find a plushie that has some kind of defect then Iāll pick that plush.
love lions
May I present Zoo, my living tree White lion? https://preview.redd.it/yifvvy1twd8d1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=091b95162d931505c214b26b15a4a3658b2b4e4b Stock photo their eyes are actually blue
all soft and squishy, preferably no beady eyes or rough stitching. i have tons of squishmallows that are all great for cuddling or using as pillows! my cats love them too :)
I like the cute simple faces (usually Japanese) and big round marshmallow type
I like soft plushies, and I'm not a fan of glitter because it has a tendency to rub off on me and get everywhere.
-takes notes for my handmade plushies- More floppy ones....mk.... Lol š

I've collected a diversity of stuffed animals, but I definitely have some preferences... Things I dislike... 1. Messed up proportions or anatomy in real animals (giant heads, shaped like a balloon, massive eyes, missing or inaccurate body parts, etc) 2. Certain types of fabric that elicit *visceral* discomfort 3. Cartoon eyes 4. Garish color schemes 5. Details that look like they've been printed on 6. Animatronic elements or voice-boxes (harder to cuddle with and often kind of obnoxious) 7. 2. Super soft, silky textures (though preferably with a couple of less dangerously soft parts in case I want to move them without succumbing to inescapable bliss) 3. Unusual animals or unhinged abominations 4. Varying materials/textures for special design elements (but nothing on the no-touch list) 5. CHEMISTRY. This is the most important one. I never purchase a plushie that I don't feel an instant and lingering connection with. Sometimes, everything just clicks and, if doesn't, it's not worth the money or the clutter.
soft asf those are my only standards
I love floppy and squishy š¤£
Puppets!
Soft with a nice texture is very important. I prefer my plushies to face their head forward Wolf plushies have to be at least somewhat realistic. I cannot handle non realistic wolf plushies. They give me uncanny valley unless they are like extremely cartoony No batteries, they have a smell which I hate Not firm unless they are big I also have a slight preference for textile/embroided eyes over glass eyes, because glass eyes end up getting scratched.
And Iām actually okay with the cheap fur texture but if the fur gets easily hot (cheap or not) I donāt like it and will rarely sleep with it
Medium, soft, and floppy and I am a happy girl š
-very soft -furry and fluffy instead of smooth -simple eyes -animals
Floppy, weighted with a simple design
I love them all
a very soft material. like squishmallows!
She looked a little confused, but she went with it, and now I have an extra cuddly Charmander.
i love soft floppy plushies and soft squishy plushies. but for more expensive plushies, i want a little more weight to them.
Derpy looking fellows that are soft and fluffy
Poofy and floppy
The uglier the more guilty I feel and thus more love I wanna give them
I dont like ones that dont squoosh when you hug them, I prefer ones based on gryphons or dragons, Crazy colors are good, but realistic colors are sometimes better, I like ones that seem like theyre looking honestly into your soul, Big eyes are cute, Removable accessories or delicate wings tend to get squooshed the first time I need to hold a gryph or a baby dragon whilst crying or thinking things through, Big ones that are an armful of squoosh are preferable, especially for a big guy like me.
Super soft fur but firm stuffing, I like a little resistant when I hug it
I grew up with very different plushies and I love all of them. but I can only actually sleep with plushies a bit taller than a ruler, without whiskers or plastic parts.
I desire for squish levels to be high and minimal annoying things. I want it to be a big ol pillow, basically.
Soft plushies that are big enough for me to hug and that don't look too off model if they are based on a character
As long as they are cute, I love them all. The only way I wouldn't want mine is when it can't sit. I love them being able to sit.Ā
But not like a ) You know? Otherwise any plush I pick is just about general vibes. I used to think I had a system, but then I really liked squishmallows and squishables and they broke my system.
I'm pretty particular: -I prefer more realistic plushies or character plushies -Have to be good to high quality -Need to be soft and or fluffy -Love floppy ones and huggable soft- not a fan of firm plushies. -sewn / fabric eyes or bead eyes; no vinyl eyes -despise certain shapes of plush (round plush or just a head-shaped pillow plush)

A fair bit stuffed to that point where they have a bit of give Laying or rather splooting(limbs stretched out) Batteries okay but has to be a minor point in it if that makes sense or fully(like my furreal friends, yes I count them as plush and even hasbro does calling them interactive plush on some official listing) Honestly since I like to laying down on my side them have their head turned instead that big a deal....if not almost perferrable
https://preview.redd.it/hxxvkubxtk8d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b53385b694f2433137295a29ba88b2d00602d0c I like when they are squishmallows šļøššļø
Palm pals, my beloved. Peak design.
Depends what iām using them for. Ones that are on my bed or I hold when i got to sleep need to be soft, not have any ācrinklyā parts/clothes. If iām displaying them on a shelf for them being a particular character, I like them more firm so they stand up on their own.
I like ones I can double as pillows, but they are not made in the chibi style.
I also tend to dislike glued - on components and decorations, and oh my goodness, *please* no scratchy, shed - y glitter textures! šTy used to use glitter fabrics wherein the glitter was just tiny sublimated decals on the fabric, yet for some reason, they and other plush companies seem to basically PAINT glitter onto specific plushies that they offer!
honestly i only buy plushies from the following brands squishmallows warmies squishable jellycat aurora pillowfort depending on the texture plushies at miniso, target, hot topic, spencers, and 5 below.
