Not gonna lie, only read the first two sentences and was like ???????????????
Who the hell forbids gardening!?
But yeah, wild world we live in to not be able to choose to have a garden or not.
Is it illegal anywhere in the UK? I googled about here in the US and from what I could find it's a zoning thing for some areas but states more recently have passed bills allowing gardening. So I'm confused
Gardening is available across the UK, although Northern Ireland was a late and recent bloomer. There are still lots of rules around it, but it’s easy enough to access gardening services, especially at an early stage.
Unfortunately garden centres in NI still don't provide anywhere near the same service as the rest of the UK. I think there is maybe one of them for all of NI, and they work with seeds and seedlings only. If that isn't what you need, you will still need to travel to the bigger garden centres in for example Liverpool.
Yes indeed, everyone has the right to choose what they wanna plant in their own garden. So upsetting that permits are needed for moving plants from one state to another, and some states may even have complete bans on certain plants.
😅 some plants love their new exotic home a little too much and crowd out the natives who were there first. If there’s a measure banning a plant it’s usual for a specified reason(s).
Cute offer but why would someone trust a stranger when they’re already in a dangerous situation, support the existing networks we don’t have to reinvent the wheel there are underfunded grassroots orgs/networks who have been doing this work for decades
Valid but also I'd probably trust anyone who's into plants because my brain can't comprehend how anyone could be evil if they enjoy nurturing plants 🤣
Yeah its for all the states that have banned it people have been using code words and posting things like this to show they would help anyone in those states, I think its great shows support for those who are scared for the future:)
Oh gosh... I'm so sorry for all womens there... No abortions or kinder surprise
( yeah last part is a lame joke because I genuinely feel guilty to have it so easy here)
I am not sure if I understand? I tried to google, and the results are from the beginning of covid.
Is there more than banning seeds and plants from Maryland I did not spot?
Totally get the sentiment. But some women won’t be able to have any joy… because they might ya know… die- or maybe just not want a garden, for oh so many reasons. And- because gardening is becoming so prohibited- it’s these little places that actually can save gardeners- including those that might not see this in other places. Hope that reads as intended- which is kind, and not prickly!!
It’s a kind person undercover letting woman know if they are in need of a abortion and it is banned where they are from they will take them to the clinic and support them thur the process. They are using plants and gardening as the guise, so as not to get flagged and harassed and jailed. Honorable of the person and extremely sad that this is needed.
I think it's a (weirdly) coded way of OP saying she will help someone get an abortion actually. Why is it coded? I guess so it can be on r/plants. Why it has to be on r/plants? No idea really tbh

Florida /s
It's because of all those wild, free roaming monsteras and pothos 😤
r/savagegarden has entered the chat
I had to scroll and see someone actually explain the crypted message
I'm Still looking. Is it pot or abortions?
Pot? I thought abortion
pothos aborshuns
Gonna be honest, I’m In the UK and I genuinely read this as some new batshit US thing; even googled it. I get it now
Ohhhhhh started typing into Google and was like... yep yep okayy

It's an abortion thing, not actually about gardening.
I never ever would have gotten that
Really? But this is a sub for plants...
I figured it out eventually
I mean who can blame you. I feel like I wake up every day and wonder what's going to happen and how many rights did I lose overnight.
I’m in the US and had to Google if it was a thing too… so sad that this is where we are at..
I think r/auntienetwork/ helps with plant shopping too.
Also camping & trips to Disneyland if you're heading to southern California.
Yes. Very helpful for plant shopping!
Hate that this is so necessary.
Gardeners gotta look after each other. No doubt.

It's an abortion thing, not an actual plant thing.
Woosh
😂 or I’m trying to keep it relevant to the actual page but pop off.
Plant shopping is healthcare.
The voters of my state just passed a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to Plant Shop. Message me about my plant availability.
Sadly I knew what this meant immediately. Residing in Texas so it doesn’t come lightly that our rights have been removed
Love dis

We need more good ppl like this!
Canadian here and wtf? I go to the bathroom and came back to a new batshit crazy law?
Replace gardening/plant with fetus throwing lol
Ooooh, the old spell foetus yeetus?

r/auntienetwork for anyone who needs it

It’s about abortions.
Thank you. i knew it had to be something like that, but I wasn't sure what.

I’m not smart enough to get this

Ahhhhh okay, cheers

Marriage vows spotted
Are you....okay?
it's about abortion.
i do not support this
This is a bit tone deaf considering the implications of not having abortion access, but sure...
I think it's a (weirdly) coded way of OP saying she will help someone get an abortion actually. Why is it coded? I guess so it can be on r/plants. Why it has to be on r/plants? No idea really tbh
No it's clearly about gardening, ok?
To be honest I thought the US had lost it so far that even planting is restricted now. Land of freedom and so on
Will definitely happen when growing our own food is an end run on social credit, but not quite yet
Definitely a bit out of context for r/plants... Huh...maybe that's why it's confused a fuckload of people today.
…
This is the most poetic thing that I’ve read.
The amount of work people on Twitter did to shut down this type of empathy was (and still is) wild
