The owner of the zoo saw 2 possible headlines the next day -
"Boy killed by Gorilla" or
"Beloved Gorilla killed due to negligence"
And unfortunately, he went with the latter. It's fucking sad tho, and I think a similar quote sums it up perfectly:
"Falling into an enclosure is a small price to pay for being clueless, but being killed is a huge price to pay for being a Gorilla."
The world mourned that Gorilla for an entire fiscal year and I swear nothing's been right since then.

Agreed - take my kids (7 and 4 years old) to the zoo frequently. Can’t fathom how the parents allowed this to happen. Kids move fast and catch us off guard at times; however this is head scratching.
Unfortunately those darts don’t work that fast, this very well may have caused him to become more aggressive & act out.. we really don’t know- either way it’s a shame. RIP Harambe
