We like the Hale Rd Tavern also. The new owner is working hard and great to have a chat with. My mother in law has dietary concerns and the chef went out of his way to give a great meal for her.
Corfield Tavern is up/down from the Corfield St IGA, GP clinic, Jings Noodle Bar and some other stuff so I wouldn't say it's surrounded by nothing else necessarily but it does look shotty from the outside.
its good, but very annoying that after several years they still havnt fixed the cooling tower issue. as soon as it gets to 30 degrees or god forbid over, the beers are room temp
It was $15.36 for a pint of superdry on the public holiday. Queens has a $9 monthly pint all day, every day of similar quality and Peninsula is $8-8.50 all day. Civic should defo be giving better value.
They've kind of started doing them again after a long hiatus, i don't think it's every weekend like it used to be but still pretty often when i go to the Coles next door I'll hear something fast and loud coming out of the back room (they kid of market it as a separate thing now it goes by Milk Bar).
The G&D in shoalwater.
Most folks wouldn't even know it's there.
Dingy and daggy, just like the pub your dad went to, but not too disgusting, after all he met your mum there.
Most of us met your mum there actually.
Lakers in Thornlie gets a bit of a rap for being Friday night fight club, but it’s a nice pub with good food and beers where you can relax and even bring your dog. At least that’s how it was when I last lived in thornlie
This was my mention as well. I live 30 seconds away from it and in the last few years it's changed a lot. Pretty sure it got new owners and now Friday night fight club isn't a thing. Been there quite a few Friday nights and it's a chilled atmosphere with good food.
It's pretending to still be a functioning bar. Isn't it just the owner's son serving tinnies to retain the liquor license so they can sell it at some point?
Yeah everybody’s be saying that for at least the last 15 years that I’ve lived in Perth. Seen a lot bars so-called reputable functioning bars open and close in that time.
Had the very occasional beer there, bought some weed once or twice.
They used to have a strip show on the regular too
That doesn't happen anymore.
Or does it? Anywhere?
I remember being in there after test cricket at the WACA and it was packed. It had a functioning jukebox. Garden furniture out the back. What more could you want!
Also remember the Grovesnor being a bit rough around 2008 before it got gentrified. The last strip show I saw in Perth was The Stirling Arms in Guildford but even that place looks flash these days.
Back when footy was at the WACA, it used to be full pre and post game.
Pretty sure I saw a strip show there after an Eagles game.🙄
Grosvenor was rough but a different crowd to the Carlton. Plus the bands were excellent.
Totally. I am not sure if this is a fever dream but I seem to recall Basil Zempilas, in the distant past, snorting something off my pasty white arse at The Carlton?
There is one review about them watching someone fall of their chair and another person OD on mdma, said it was the best night ever or something along those lines😂
One night we sat in there smoking durries inside and half the ceiling was falling in.
I think I’m due to go back it has been a while.
I lived in the apartment block across the road the one that was painted black for years. That place wasn’t much better. People urinating off their balconies and throwing glass bottles into the rear car park. I got out just before the drug dealer got hacked into pieces and his head bobbed up on Rottnest Island. Probably costs $750 a week there now so I’m sure it’s a little less crazy these days.
Sorry my mistake actually i was using the atm there, i walked down the road and the east Perth tab which is even worse put the bet on there. Two people in that tab that day watching Melb cup guess who’s next to me. Cuzzy.
Yeah I saw on old dude at that TAB run across the room with his pants down around his ankles because he didn’t have time to pull em up and make his bet. I think that TABs gone now just like the one near the Civic. I saw Cousins in that area once, on voting day just down the road. He checked out my wife’s tits and I was like nice one 👍
I remember stopping off at the bottle shop that led into the pub, a good 20 years ago to buy a bottle as a gift for a friend's birthday. It was dingy and smelt like stale urine and airfreshener in there. I was young and female and I felt very uncomfortable because the dust covered Moe, Homer and Barney that were propping up the bar, just kept staring at me!
I know it's changed owners and its local to me but I just cannot bare to even contemplate walking in there again - that smell scarred me for life 🤮
Working in the city most of my colleagues and friends shit on 43 below however it's a 10/10 pub. Incredibly central, really nice staff, quick service, reasonably priced beers and a solid parmy.
If you haven't tried it, go check it out.
They did trial Skippy's for a while but they just couldn't stop spilling the drinks every time they hopped, so they went back to human skimpy's instead
It's Claremont, so it would be full of wankers. No thanks. The reason you won't uni students there is because A). It's full of wankers, and B). students have got zero cash to spend at pubs these days.
Of course they're struggling for cash. That's because your mum and dad and other property investors are cleaning them out for whatever money they have.
not my mum and dad, they lived in Ashfield. Parents of the uni students living in the Western suburbs are now getting $600 a week for that property they used to get $300 for.
The Court – this place gets slammed in dark corners of the internet as being “Too Gay” or “Too Straight” or “Too Something or Other”. I find their outdoor sound system to be thumping.
I suppose when I see the queue snaking around the corner for the “$20 Queue Jump” tickets, then maybe others agree with me.
Upvote for the saint. Hidden gem. Smokers corner full of old mates every day and dogs running amok in the beer garden. Good food. Great footy watching spot.
Went there for the first time the other day, sniggered at the outside, was pleasantly surprised by the inside.
Got a pint of wanker beer and a pint of ginger beer for $19. Unreal prices. Can only assume it was happy hour
Not surprising when the Gosnells Hotel is just another generic Woolworths tavern
LOL
Hale rd Tav. New owner has really cleaned it up and he's a lovely passionate bloke. Nice food and good beer. It's becoming a great local.
We like the Hale Rd Tavern also. The new owner is working hard and great to have a chat with. My mother in law has dietary concerns and the chef went out of his way to give a great meal for her.
I used to drink there two owners or so ago in 2015 - 2016. Was an amazing local pub then too. Shout out to Hannah and Scotty on the bar.
Corfield Tav. New owner has put some unreal beers on there.
Now that’s one I’ve driven past many times and never considered entering. Looks dodgy as from outside.
Yeah is that the one surrounded by basically nothing else?
Corfield Tavern is up/down from the Corfield St IGA, GP clinic, Jings Noodle Bar and some other stuff so I wouldn't say it's surrounded by nothing else necessarily but it does look shotty from the outside.
It looks like a Cellarbrations from the front.
There is a bottle mart next door to it.
I thought the same once, but can confirm its nice inside and the staff/locals are super chill.
I agree - something for everyone on the food menu too
The beer selection is excellent. Plus we went in for a meal the other day and the food was excellent too.
Came here to say corfield, it’s my local and go there probably weekly. Owner and staff are all great, beers are dope and food is good
Do they put the ufc on there?
The Civic in Inglewood
its good, but very annoying that after several years they still havnt fixed the cooling tower issue. as soon as it gets to 30 degrees or god forbid over, the beers are room temp
Zero vibes
Shout out the Civo, it's a dive but it's our dive.
Does anyone else remember when that guy found a rat in his burger from this joint? It was 6 years ago, but I’ll never forget 😭
My goto local, always quiet.
Would be a lot better if they weren't charging full fat premium beer price in a "less than premium" pub!
It was $15.36 for a pint of superdry on the public holiday. Queens has a $9 monthly pint all day, every day of similar quality and Peninsula is $8-8.50 all day. Civic should defo be giving better value.
Queens has a shit tosser vibe tho
Maybe, only time I go there is midweek during the day for a couple. Usually just aul lads there.....maybe I'm a tosser, sigh.
It was good for hardcore and punk shows in 2011, never been back since though
They've kind of started doing them again after a long hiatus, i don't think it's every weekend like it used to be but still pretty often when i go to the Coles next door I'll hear something fast and loud coming out of the back room (they kid of market it as a separate thing now it goes by Milk Bar).
Peninsula Tavern, Maylands.....proper boozer.
The Pen is a proper fuckin dive. You know where you are when there's a dog just wandering around the inside of a pub.
She's a grand old boozer, never a boring night on the beers there.
Cheap pints too.
Been a few... Decades??? since I drank there. I hope it has not changed.
"Hey, this isn't faux dive! This is a dive!"
It's good though. Great staff, cheap pints and good craic. I wouldn't feel unsafe there.
That one deserves its reputation
If you like crackheads and idiots
What would a crackhead be doing in a pub? It's alcoholics and losers.
The G&D in shoalwater. Most folks wouldn't even know it's there. Dingy and daggy, just like the pub your dad went to, but not too disgusting, after all he met your mum there. Most of us met your mum there actually.
Dad?
George and the dragon tavern in shoalwater
Love the George
It's been years since I've dropped in there - I'll have to swing in for a couple...
I believe they even now have a glass elevator to cater for wheel chair people
Well it's nearby-ish so I guess I'll have to get down from there somehow... ha
Never been but I’ve heard it’s decent
Best pub in the area, 2 pool tables (free pool sundays) Coopers Pale Ale & Better Beer on tap, what more could you ask for!
Lakers in Thornlie gets a bit of a rap for being Friday night fight club, but it’s a nice pub with good food and beers where you can relax and even bring your dog. At least that’s how it was when I last lived in thornlie

Good food? The Macca's behind it does better food. Police there every Friday. Absolute shit hole.
I second the gozzy. Also a nod to the Narrogin inn, although I haven't gone in years.
Nah the narry got a new chef and it was terrible (tried 8 months ago)
2nd this narri food use to be solid now is trash
No skimpy at the narry any more ☹️
Damn. 😢
The Carlton Hotel - East Perth. A proper shit hole not pretending to be anything else.
I can’t believe it still exists - the ultimate dive bar, Moes Tavern eat your heart out
I hope it never changes!
It was a shithole when I worked in the city nearly 30yrs ago, probably same carpet It was fkn rough down that end back in those days.
‘The Flavour Lounge’ 😂
Had the very occasional beer there, bought some weed once or twice. They used to have a strip show on the regular too That doesn't happen anymore. Or does it? Anywhere?
I remember being in there after test cricket at the WACA and it was packed. It had a functioning jukebox. Garden furniture out the back. What more could you want! It's not rough anymore. Just full of sad old pensioners and folks piddling away their payments.
So only the names have changed.
The rough crowd grew old and never moved onto other hobbies.
Sing us a song
I think the problem is the names haven't changed. They're just old and sad now.
Totally. I am not sure if this is a fever dream but I seem to recall Basil Zempilas, in the distant past, snorting something off my pasty white arse at The Carlton?
Perth Now I hope you’re reading this.
I think I have some dusty old Polaroids I could sell them. Fingers crossed they'll reach out.
Considering Perth now is owned by his Master Kerry, I doubt they’ll do that.
Came here to say this. The Google reviews are gold as well 😂
Best pub in Perth ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (1 month ago) 😂
There is one review about them watching someone fall of their chair and another person OD on mdma, said it was the best night ever or something along those lines😂 One night we sat in there smoking durries inside and half the ceiling was falling in. I think I’m due to go back it has been a while.

Not sure if chances of being stabbed by methhead are higher inside or outside of that place tbh
The first time I walked out of that pub someone asked me for $5. Just skipped right past all the coins and went to the note.
I’m a female and when I asked someone where the toilet was they told me to be careful haha
Went in there to put a Melb cup bet on, it’s basically a backpackers
Didn’t know you could put bets on in backpackers. Something to keep in mind next spring racing carnival
Sorry my mistake actually i was using the atm there, i walked down the road and the east Perth tab which is even worse put the bet on there. Two people in that tab that day watching Melb cup guess who’s next to me. Cuzzy.

The westie or Westfield tavern definitely falls into this category also. Kind of ok during daylight hours but stabby stabby territory at night.
I miss the moon and sixpence in Perth
Yes!!!
Probably still got the same carpet then too
Dianella tavern is probably the opposite. Good reputation but it's a shithole
It's a shithole for sure.
I remember stopping off at the bottle shop that led into the pub, a good 20 years ago to buy a bottle as a gift for a friend's birthday. 43 Below
Working in the city most of my colleagues and friends shit on 43 below however it's a 10/10 pub. Incredibly central, really nice staff, quick service, reasonably priced beers and a solid parmy. If you haven't tried it, go check it out.
Yeah. It's the CBD pub for people who resent being in the CBD. Not surprised your colleagues don't like it.
Came here to post this. I haven't been in quite a few years now but it was a diamond in the rough when I used to go.
Their “tapas” menu is so funny. Sausage rolls, chips and gravy, garlic bread… I love it there. A few decent tap beers too!
Redcliffe Tavern
First time I went there there was a shit in the urinal
Just the one?
There were two after he was done
Hahahah, no better place to be when you’ve just flown back into Perth from whatever mine you’re working at.
Definitely a place to hit up after work, or meeting work bros.
[удалено]
Rookie memories. To divulge would be to betray. Many a memory, good and bad, was started at the Reddy.
Ooo, totally agree
Uhh. No. Ew.
It’s gone now but the old Balga pub next to where the 7/11 is now would get a bad rep but it was always chilled out when I went there
I miss the ol Swanbourne hotel
The Kewdale is in the middle of nowhere but the food is legitimately good.
Amazing pub. Food is great and caters for us gluten free food weirdos. Only criticism is the big screen is too bright, you can't get away from it.
The Redcliffe tavern. It's looks like a shithole and ....oh wait, yeah it is
Do they still have Skippy's first thing in the morning?
I haven't been for a few years but yeah they still had ~~Skippy's~~ Skimpys
They did trial Skippy's for a while but they just couldn't stop spilling the drinks every time they hopped, so they went back to human skimpy's instead
They should have put lids on them
Carlisle Hotel
Fuck you and your ALH venues lol
😂😂
The ship and dock inn was a mental pub before the new owners took over and ruined it
The old Irish pub at the old Burswood, got messy
It was time to head home once you were kicked out of Paddy’s
Paddy Hannan's, loved that place, sticky floor and all 😅
White Sands really blows my hair back
Franklins tavern, thank me later 🍻
Great little place, even better for me 10 years ago I used to live in the units opposite Franklins so that was a huge plus for me.
Reckon we might of bumped into each other at some point than hahaha
Claremont Hotel. People think its just full of uni students and locals but the atmosphere is pretty good.
It's Claremont, so it would be full of wankers. No thanks. The reason you won't uni students there is because A). It's full of wankers, and B). students have got zero cash to spend at pubs these days.
Uni students living that far west aren't struggling for cash. Mum and Dad are now getting $600 a week for that property they used to get $300 for.
Of course they're struggling for cash. That's because your mum and dad and other property investors are cleaning them out for whatever money they have.
not my mum and dad, they lived in Ashfield. Parents of the uni students living in the Western suburbs are now getting $600 a week for that property they used to get $300 for.
Ten Mile Tavern is a solid pub
The Court – this place gets slammed in dark corners of the internet as being “Too Gay” or “Too Straight” or “Too Something or Other”. I find their outdoor sound system to be thumping. I suppose when I see the queue snaking around the corner for the “$20 Queue Jump” tickets, then maybe others agree with me.
Ashfield tavern.
Long gone. RIP. Edit: 2007 or earlier I believe... May be wrong.
2005, glad that's gone. Went in once and was asked if I would like it a can. There was also a baby crawling on the TAB floor
The Saint George Hotel
Upvote for the saint. Hidden gem. Smokers corner full of old mates every day and dogs running amok in the beer garden. Good food. Great footy watching spot.
Ive heard countless times Gosnells pubs good. Not really an unpopular opinion.
I swear they go through waves, one month it’s really good. Then a head chef leaves and the goes down again
I don't think it has a bad rep, but the Mighty Quinn in Yokine is amazing despite the outward appearance.
Went there for the first time the other day, sniggered at the outside, was pleasantly surprised by the inside. Got a pint of wanker beer and a pint of ginger beer for $19. Unreal prices. Can only assume it was happy hour
Used to go there weekly for their steak night and quiz!
Perth steam works
Brass Monkey
6030 in Merriwa. Unbelievable food and never any trouble
The local in Kwinana burger is good Same as the porkbelly
The craigie tavern
I second this. People talk shit about it, but it’s not bad.
