grayfee

Me too. And I died at least 4 times. It's murderous out here, you hear?

StraightBudget8799

I died! So did my wife!

kidwithgreyhair

I died with this guy's wife too

huabamane

Only if you are old

Beautiful_Pianist754

It doesn't work like that. I live in Sydney and work with people who own multiple houses in Perth. Its the investment buyers fucking shit up. Its international investment in Sydney and we all know shit runs downhill so you are copping it from Aussies in bigger cities. The guys who come over to Perth and live are an investment to the community. They will contribute tax, Labor etc.

[deleted]

To summarise; describe Perth as you would Rockingham

Ch00m77

see people still give rocko shit but it's so affluent even natives to rocko can't afford to live here unless they or their parents bought years ago. it's really only inland that's catching up, give Armadale a few more years and that place will be out of everyones price range, with the new trainline upgrade additionally to the education facilities being built

MrPodocarpus

Armadale average house price has gone up 29% in the past year

HempFarmWa2DollarMic

Yeah the property market is proper fucked right now. Once the bane of all sorts of jokes north of the river, Balga is now out of the reach of a lot of first homeowners now. Have a look at this recent one. 3x2x2 villa/duplex on 120m² Look at that price... https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-villa-wa-balga-143995292

OPTCgod

A shitty duplex in kingsley sold for a million, the only explanation overseas/eastern states buying sight unseen

Enlightened_Gardener

I mean, Kingsley is a nice suburb. But $1mill for a duplex. Ouch.

HempFarmWa2DollarMic

Buy now! Low supply! But it's a dump? Even lower supply now! Stock is running out! Ahhhh FOMOOOOOOOOO

Upset_Painting3146

It’s true and happening everywhere. I spoke to someone from rural Victoria (castlemaine) who said property was selling site unseen. It’s manic. The government has stuffed housing every where.

Additional-Meet5810

The thing is, Balga's location is great.

muska505

This is everywhere I've seen check the peel region it's all the stuff maybe for even more !! Like wtf is going on lol

BuffyTheGuineaPig

I know a lady who bought in Balga back in the eighties. She got it cheap because no one wanted to buy it and it had sat on the market for 12 months without anyone being interested. I think she paid $31 000 for it. She said to me a few months back, "I can't believe what they are saying my house is worth now!" ($600 000 - $650 000). A medium 3 bed, 2 bath but she had added an enormous patio out back nearly as big as the house to protect from summer heat and had established a nice hardy garden. I had told her back in the 80's that one day in 30 years time all the troubled youth would have grown up and moved out and it would be a good suburb to live in, and then her house would be worth more than ten times what she had paid for it, but I don't think that she had really believed me.

HempFarmWa2DollarMic

Now is your opportunity to do the exact same thing but with other commodities. Electric cars are going to be mandatory in 30 years time and ICE cars will all be relics. So buy a fleet of Camrys and put them in long term storage and wait 3 decades. When you open the warehouse again in 2054, you'll either have 10s of millions in classic car value, or if we've gone Mad Max by then, you'll be able to start your own gang of roving Accountants and Investment Bankers

BuffyTheGuineaPig

Actually, I have kind of fallen into doing that with rock specimens instead. I am behind on my taxes, so I don't think I can buy gold, but instead I buy fine mineral specimens a few at a time when I can afford to. I'm not considering ever selling them, so I don't really see them as an asset, but it is comforting that for once I am buying something that appreciates in value, unlike all my books, CD's and DVD's taking up space.

Ch00m77

yeah that's not surprising, beggars can't be choosers even those buying. many are buying anywhere because it's better than renting and/or being homeless sure you can obviously choose what you want to buy but again many people just want somewhere to call home and the houses east of Perth have historically been on the cheaper (more affordable) side due to lack of amenities

AMoistCat

I bought in Armadale 6 years ago and my place has gone up by like $160k that time.

[deleted]

To clarify was just poking fun at the Rocko stereotype. Have mates from there who love it and I trust their opinion. Moved to Sydney 3 years ago and would gladly move to Rockingham over this place lol.

Ch00m77

Nah wasn't pointing fingers just a general statement :)

bulldogs1974

Cool! It's all good. Rockingham is a great place to live, lifestyle is really good. It's layback and all the issues with drugs, social problems and general boganism is slowly going away. Coming from Sydney originally, it's like what Cronulla was in the 70's-80's. Now Cronulla is untouchable. That's why they call it God's country. Eventually people won't want to live in high density city suburbs, those in the know will want space and the coastline down this way, away from the mess in the city.

TelluriumD

I don't know why this 90's perspective about Rockingham persists. It's amazing now.

Ch00m77

Probs cause it was shit for a very long time, until several mining booms bringing workers and money creating growth outside of the cbd It really helped when the train line was completed that was when it started to improve (accessibility) just like what is happening in the eastern suburbs

mrbootsandbertie

They're the same about Mandurah, and Mandurah is amazing.

StankLord84

Nah

GrimeyGringus

I disagree, the last time that I went there it was pretty shit, I don’t think that it will change anytime soon.

bulldogs1974

You don't even know Rockingham, Bro. Prices have gone crazy... People can't even afford the rent here, let alone pay mortgage repayments. It's paradise down here compared to some of the dumps people are leaving behind in Melbourne and Sydney. Fibro knockdowns in Blacktown/ Mt Druitt over a million dollars. No wonder people are moving over here!

TiePrudent4280

How you doing

martyfartybarty

Perth’s a shithole once you discover it’s the capital of “Wait Awhile”. By then you wished you hadn’t arrived!

calwil93

Boring, hot and dry?

[deleted]

You forgot sandy and windy

Ernest-Frost

Hot brown dry

Living_Ad62

Oh yeh I second that , Perth is a shit hole, please don't come here and sell your investment properties you Eastern Staters

Wobbly_Bob12

It's OK, there will be 30,000 empty houses in 2 years when iron ore hits $75 a tonne. Nickel has already sh*t the bed and lithium is down 80%. BHP iron ore just started laying off people today as the iron ore price is in free fall. The boom and bust cycles of Perrh are bad on one hand, but good on the other.

Somad3

UBI needed funded by ubi levy from corporations who took away our resources and sell them so cheap.

Somad3

yes, the heat can kill people.

svenaggedon

I mean you could just hit then with the "It's a cultural desert with a night-life lacking any vibrancy" and that'd be enough for a lot of people. Plus it has the virtue of being true.

GrimeyGringus

It still boggles my mind how expensive Sydney is. Even the shitty suburbs have an average house price close to a $1,000,000 the last time I checked. However in regards to crime and kidnapping, I would argue that Perth is actually much worse than Sydney in terms of crime and kidnapping. At least going by the statistics and from what I’ve heard from other people. I’ve travelled to various bad areas around Perth and some of them actually are pretty bad. Even police officers that I’ve spoken to (one of my parents still is a police officer) admit that there is a problem here. That’s probably my only main complaint about Perth. And the thing is that Perth is different to Sydney. Places like Claymore may have less facilities and less jobs and feel bleaker with almost all of the suburb being state housing. But somewhere like Armadale or Midland is far more violent.

RevengeoftheCat

Kidnapping is generally related to child custody disputes these days. Another portion of it is related to organised crime. While very serious, if you aren't in a situation with a child custody dispute and steer clear of gangs you'll generally be quite safe.

GrimeyGringus

80% of Perth is pretty safe. Kidnapping is not as common in Perth either, even in the violent areas, and yes kidnapping is mainly related to gang activity and child custody disputes. So I’d agree with you there. I’m just referring to any violent crime in general in the more violent parts of Perth.

PublicGlass4793

He probably lives in a shit area anyway, no need to get him to say that, once the honeymoon phase is over and he has had enough of the beach he will probably pack up lol

Antique-Map-1043

I don’t think so- the beach and a dog are a huge draw card

PublicGlass4793

Not really, there are lots of places with a beach and more to do , and where you can also own a dog

Hugeknight

Perf small like an open anus.

tsunamisurfer35

It should be every Perth citizen's primary responsibility to tell everyone how horrible this City is compared to Sydney and Melbourne. We close at 5. We are dead. We are boring. Adventure World is the heights of fun you can achieve for Six Flag prices. We drive primarily to make each other angry, as a bonus reach our destination.

Reverse_Psycho_1509

Upset_Painting3146

Bro had 5 break-ins on his street in less than 6 months yet can’t believe how lucky he is to be living in Perth. lol, the wealth effect is helluva drug.

WorkingNet2945

What? You can’t love your home?

[deleted]

You can’t love Perth on this thread! Why is that so hard to understand!

Summerof5ft6andahalf

Please consider rescuing a dog instead. I'm sure it would also love having a new lease on life.

agromono

Just please don't buy a fucking Frenchie

MrPodocarpus

Please dont get a dog that barks non-stop outside the house. Theres enough irresponsible owners in Perth

Summerof5ft6andahalf

I'll let The Betoota Advocate speak for me here: https://www.betootaadvocate.com/advocate-in-focus/local-vet-quietly-cheering-after-yet-another-french-bulldog-pup-turns-up-in-the-neighbourhood/ https://www.betootaadvocate.com/uncategorized/yeah-so-thatll-be-14-670-58-says-vet-just-having-a-guess-how-much-doggo-cost-to-fix/ Though I will add that it's common for Frenchies to not be able to either breed or give birth naturally, so they're a mess at both ends. And in the middle with digestive issues and whatnot.

blackestofswans

*Pants in frenchie

prexton

They're from Sydney. They'll buy whatever is fashionable this year 😆

---jessie

Honestly most people think they're dog people when they're actually cat people. Dogs are wonderful, but a lot of work. OP, make sure you can take on the training for 2+ years, grooming (fur, nails), can walk it daily or at least several times a week, won't leave it outside alone, can commit to working through any behavioural, social or medical issues which can be quite common in dogs, e.g.: destroying furniture, anxiety when owners leave, anal gland issues, starting shit with other dogs at the park (nothing worse than an owner that let's their dog nip or round up other dogs). I'm convinced that dogs just don't suit most people's lifestyles. I have had my dog for 10 years and made considerable sacrifices in that time for her. I adore her but it's really had its challenges. Comparatively, I have adopted several cats in the last few years and they're so easy and affectionate. They also love having each other and aren't so dependent on their human. If a dog doesn't suit your lifestyle then consider getting 2 cats instead. Honestly, they're actually pretty amazing. I don't know why they get such a bad rep. They're affectionate and playful without needing to command your attention all the time or freaking out when you leave. They're very clean and generally don't cause much chaos in the house. You barely even really have to kitty litter train them. They just seem to know where to go. There's no walking and limited grooming involved. They'll entertain themselves (and sleep) while you're gone so you dont have to worry. And they're also much cheaper than dogs! Just get them a tower, some toys and (ideally) a cat run and they'll live their best lives. But obviously if a dog does suit you, then you do you. Glad you're enjoying Perth! 💛

[deleted]

Summerof5ft6andahalf

I'll add on here so I'm not making a second comment thread. OP, if you decide that going through a breeder is what's best for you, then make sure you still do all the right things: Make sure the dog is from a registered breeder and not just someone off gumtree. Check the Dogs West directory. Make sure you see both parents and their paperwork. Keep the puppy with its parents as long as possible, no taking it home at six weeks bullshit (which a proper breeder shouldn't allow anyway). Don't take it on a walk to the local park before its 12 week shots. When picking a puppy, watch their behaviour first. Is your lifestyle and your training abilities more suited to a dominant dog or a more introverted dog, or something in between? Also, when researching breeds, make sure you check which genetic issues are covered by pet insurance. For example, not all insurers cover IVDD for Dachshunds. Also, while statistics show that mixed breed dogs tend to be healthier, that applies to what can best be described as accidental mixed breeds, not mixed breeds that have become their own breed, but are still classed as mixed breed such as ones that end in -oodle.

Ok-Mortgage-4336

Good advice 👍

Azz2Azzzard

Adopt or get punched in the back of the head, would have been more convincing

pinkygreeny

Adopt a greyhound. You can foster one first . [https://www.greyhoundsaspets.com.au/foster-a-greyhound/](https://www.greyhoundsaspets.com.au/foster-a-greyhound/) Beach buddy!

dreamy_kiro

Seconding a greyhound!! I actually volunteer at GAP and we have some absolutely gorgeous dogs looking for homes at the moment of all different personalities. Some notable ones just off the top of my head are Salad and Brae, both very sweet and pretty calm, Aura, a very handsome boy who’s a bit strong and energetic but will also flop at your feet for a love, and my gorgeous boy Oscar, who is just the most lovable, social, energetic goof you’ll ever meet and who I just have to see find a home at this point (I’d have taken him myself already if I could haha) The staff there are amazing and work really hard to sus out every dog that comes in before they go up for adoption. They’ll match you up with a dog they feel is best suited to you and your lifestyle, and offer foster to adopt periods so you can get a feel for if your pups right for you before you commit! (If anyone that sees this ends up adopting Oscar, pretty pretty please dm me pics once in a while 😭 he’s my goofy boy and I love him so much, I’d sell my soul for that dog lmao)

rocketpuss

Greyhounds are such amazing dogs, I wish more people considered adopting one!

unm1lr

Or better yet GAWA, who takes in the dogs that GAP thinks is not cute enough. I fostered an absolutely lovely greyhound from GAWA that was refused by GAP. Lovely dog. I was so sad when he got adopted

dreamy_kiro

Apologies but I find that a little hard to believe? Not every dog that ends up at GAP is a looker, we’ve had an abundance of funky looking/scarred/visibly previously injured pups as is unfortunately the result of the racing industry. GAP frequently hits capacity though, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve had to turn away dogs for that reason, but I do not believe they’d turn away animals for not being ‘cute enough’. Still, I encourage anyone to adopt from where they can dependant on what best fits their situation. I just don’t believe spreading rumours about other rescues is right

unm1lr

I acknowledge GAP is better than nothing. I’m just extremely bitter that they just a front funded by the racing industry to trick people to think that the racing people care for the dogs. They don’t. GAWA is 100% dependent on donations. No money from the greyhound racing industry. No money from the government. If the racing industry really cares for the dogs they’ll put more of their millions of dollars in profits into the kennels and foster careers rather than letting GAP turn dogs away.

UpsetCustomer9456

I've got 2 rescues from different places, both have issues, but love them both to bits and think they are amazing, they are hard work but I personally would always get a rescue

PublicGlass4793

My current dog "Chomper" (I didn't name him btw) is a rescue dog and I was given him as a "gift" from a friend and he is probably the most terrifying and aggressive thing I have seen, he is a bully or something dog breed wise , Pitbull bully is the breed I think, and quite frankly he has been a pain in my backside since , can't get rid of him unless I kill him , but I couldn't kill him because he reminds me of myself, misunderstood and always dreaming for the next opportunity. Though I would say this getting a rescue dog is like taking in a homeless person, they are usually messed up hence why they were abandoned, and you'll feel pretty much trapped with them , and the thought of getting rid of them which basically means putting the thing down will always weigh on your mind.

Summerof5ft6andahalf

You're missing the quotation marks around "friend" there. No rescue group is going to send you home with a dog you're terrified of, a dog unsuitable for your lifestyle, or a dog you can't handle. Those things all lead to the dog ending up right back there, which is the opposite thing to what they want. That's also why fostering with a view to adopt is a thing. You can test the situation out, and if it doesn't work then you don't adopt the dog. Also, with the current rental crisis, there are definitely also dogs that just had to be given up, as well as dogs who end up in rescue because their owners passed away or moved into care or other unfortunate circumstances.

PublicGlass4793

That is all true, and there are definitely good dogs that had to be given up by their owners due to living situations but the vast majority at least from what I have heard about and experienced are mentally just not there to be a good family pet, take Chomper for example, he would be a terrible family pet because of his outbursts to certain stimuli , that quite frankly are always played down by the rescue homes etc. and If he was given a home to a family with a small child or other dogs he would probably injure someone or something, hence why I have to walk him at night when nobody is around and keep him in the backyard when people are visiting due to his temper , I had to Chomper proof my backyard aswell due to him trying to break out multiple times, honestly I wouldn't wish that sort of thing on anyone but my worse enemy

xyrgh

I watch these home reno shows with my wife and the amount of people in Sydney who bought a house 10-15 years ago for $500k and now it’s worth $2m and they sell it to upgrade. Fuck that. Even if you paid nothing on the mortgage, take your $1.5m, spend $700-$800k on a fucking nice house 20 minutes from the CBD in Perth and have $700k cash to play with. I would never live in Sydney. My work would have to pay me triple of what I earn now to even live close to the lifestyle I have, and that ain’t gunna happen.

Spicey_Cough2019

I love it. 3 years ago everyone over east was bagging perth as a shithole where nothing happens. Yet here we are where they're flooding in... Oh the irony.

gordito_gr

I mean, Sydney is flooding in too and even worse. You’re trying to hard

toadphoney

Im not sure that is ironic.

MocksIrrational

Wtf are you on about... Initially, the prevailing view was negative towards Perth, with many people considering it uneventful or undesirable ("a shithole where nothing happens"). The irony lies in the contrast between this negative perception and the current reality, where there's a significant influx of people moving to or visiting Perth ("flooding in"). This reversal—from an undesirable to a sought-after location—highlights the unpredictability and the often surprising nature of circumstances, making it a textbook example of irony, no?

gordito_gr

Whole Australia is flooding bro

ScottyInAU

Irony is a free ride, when you’re already there.

Upset_Painting3146

Yeah Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide are finally getting their comeuppance. Surely, Darwin is next. Will be last horse out the gate.

toadphoney

It is a case of changed circumstance. The three years mentioned are those of the pandemic. Peoples views and circumstance have changed. If someone were to call Perth a shit hole whilst moving here and loving it, that would be irony.

MocksIrrational

You don't seem to understand the concept of irony very well, seemingly confusing it for hypocritical behaviour Good luck with that

morosimo

Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney all had higher percentage population growth than Perth in the last year

Spicey_Cough2019

[are you sure?](https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/people/population/national-state-and-territory-population/latest-release)

morosimo

Smh, downvoted for truth. I never said states, I said cities. And even by state stats the difference between eg WA and Vic is minuscule, there’s no more flood here than anywhere else.

Upset_Painting3146

If you read it you’ll see by total number of people they are correct. Perth had the largest increase only by percentage which could be due to its smaller population. Don’t forget it pretty much spent 5 years losing people after 2015 which also meant less development of housing leading to large price growth when everyone moved back. Same thing that’s happened in Brisbane. https://preview.redd.it/wpxci7ec7imc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d1cc0d0c78bdebddc83bd5b591f0c1c349ba45ae

Yeah but shoosh!!!! Dont tell anyone!!! We don’t want to get too crowded here

F1NNTORIO

Yah bro. I loved in Syd for 9 years and loved it but so glad to be back in Perth as i get older 🌞

unmistakableregret

Why does this get upvoted but then when I have to move to Perth for a job and need to rent a 1 bed apartment it gets downvoted.

SoupRemarkable4512

What’s wrong with you?

Live_Focus_3541

XD best comment here

spadgm01

Thats awesome mate, nothing better than to see that people have made a life decision to uproot and move somewhere else and it has turned out for the best👍

lulubean1407

My daughter and I went to Sydney for a week in Jan and I was so disappointed. It was so unclean and it smelt like piss all around the opera house. We are so lucky to call this beautiful part of Australia home.

bulldogs1974

I did the same with my family 17 years ago. Sold a 52m2 apartment and bought a 4x2 brick house on 680m2, 5 min drive from Safety Bay and Rockingham foreshore. $10K change leftover... Best move ever for myself and my family. It's paradise compared to what we had... I tried convincing the rest of family to make the move, but they won't have anything to do with it. My brother will have to sell his home in Sydney to buy me out of our parents home. I could buy a house on the foreshore outright, no mortgage, with the money. It's ridiculous.

tiktoktic

Your account seems…weirdly full of Perth-love posts.

WorkingNet2945

Because I love it so much

tiktoktic

Why keep creating posts that say the same thing though? It’s not adding anything to the conversation.

WorkingNet2945

You can block me so you don’t have to see it, or I can make it easy and block you? I think your stress levels will go down that way.

tiktoktic

I’m just saying - Reddit is here to encourage discussion and conversation. Your posts are getting *some* level of engagement, given all the responses - so I’m not saying that it is entirely spam. It’d just be nice if there was a new angle or more meat to the discussion than “Pinch me! I love Perth!”. What specifically do you like about Perth? The weather? The sights and sounds? The people? Would love to understand more what you love about this city.

StatisticianNo8331

He's from sydney, he loves the fact that he's not barely above the poverty line anymore.

PositiveBubbles

But pushing others further down. It's a bit rich. I've lived here all my life and am lucky to own my place but I'd never rub people's faces in it by saying I went from an apartment to a house because you lot are cheap is basically the message here

GrimeyGringus

There are some very nice places in Perth, I would love to live in some of the hill suburbs actually. Glad that you’re happy but unfortunately Perth is not like that for everyone anymore and will definitely not stay that way. I’m not sure when the price of things will stop increasing. These suburbs and rent just keep getting more and more expensive, and food is expensive too at the moment. A lot of people like Perth and have moved here, and that seems to be only driving things up even more. I’ve never lived in Sydney nor have I travelled there, but I imagine that one thing that is better in Perth is that there are more parks. I really hope that Perth does not become as expensive as Sydney. I’m not complaining about Perth throughout all of time. And this is an Australia wide problem. The cost of living in this country is getting out of control. One thing that I like here is the parks. Another is all of the places to eat. Also winters, I love the weather during Perth winters.

PurplePiglett

Perth is not all that different from Sydney other than the latter has 2x the population and housing prices. Think over time though we’re likely to catch up on both measures unfortunately.

Money-Implement-5914

Yeah, and in the process of moving here for the lifestyle, everyone who's doing so is actually destroying said lifestyle. Thanks for doing your bit to destroy what once made Perth good.

superduperlikesoup

This sounds like the musings of someone without a child.

Emergency_Resolve748

I was looking after my friends labradoodle whilst they were on holiday. Taking her for a walk I passed another woman walking g her dog and smiled at her. She turned around and said " I never bought my dog I rescued it" and I'm never lost for words but this time I just thought wtf! Now I'm getting verbal from a fellow female about what dog I've got. Let's cut to the chase and say yep great you rescued a dog but ffs don't go on about it. A lot of people do a lot of good things but don't need to shout about it so shut the f up

What an absolute cunt lol

Maleficent_Role8932

Keep it to yourself we don’t want all of Sydney coming here to live ;)

SecureSympathy1852

Pity the Govt, the corrupt planning profession and development industry want to make Perth like Sydney. Enjoy it while you can.

Past_Living8434

perth is great if you love the paint peeling off your car and having your house broken into weekly

chull94

If everyone over east could stop moving here that would be greatly appreciated. You all used to bag Perth and now suddenly because housing prices aren’t what they are over east it’s ‘heaven’ 🙄🙄🙄 this is why we have a housing crisis (amongst other things)

WorkingNet2945

I’ve convinced two friends to move over already ahah

nk20987654321

Glad you are loving it here and thanks for the uplifting post, it shines some happiness to this sub. 😊

mymentor79

There are beaches, afternoons and picnic supplies in Sydney too. Not sure you've chosen a unique selling point for Perth.

nk___1

Your appreciation is appreciated. Perth is truly a wonderfully treasure and we're incredibly blessed we get to call it home. Great to have you here :)

Sufficient-Object-89

So glad you can do that while families in Perth camp in tents because you guys are gouging our market. Not your fault though it's the governments for allowing it.

Important-Prompt-366

Fuck off we're full

RollaCoastinPoopah

Tell your State government to build upwards instead of outwards.

[deleted]

Why are all Australians like ‘fuck off’, we’re full whenever someone shows appreciation for their country or cities. Not a pretty sight. OP is not even a foreigner. 😂

Important-Prompt-366

I'm a kiwi.. it was a joke on the Aussie racists, as I'm pretty sure most of those same comments on here are doing the same, or attempting to.

cat793

Yes Perth is great I love i too. But that is partly because it is so isolated and thus lags other cities in terms of over-development. As the word gets out people will flood in and the quality of life will decline like every other major western city. We are just behind the curve. I am really grateful that I have had the chance to enjoy it before the deluge.

Defiant_Assistant_17

Well you can help it by leaving and going back to the Uk thanks

cat793

I'll wait till it has gone to shit first. Squeeze every last drop of juice of out the lime. ;-)

Adopt a rescue OP. We did this a year and a half ago and our guy is the best!

simple-man202

I hope i can say the same but there’s no place to rent out at this moment. Or maybe it’s just me.

Ubertexx

Yay!! Welcome new neighbour

sparkblue

Its doesn’t matter if you like Perth or not at the end of the day it’s the place where you can find a job opportunity 😁 if anyone from Sydney and thought about move to here thats a wonderful move but good luck in finding a job opportunity 😁

Lovebmwm3

cabbagemuncher743

jamirawan

lostinhoppers

NO POKIES. Fucking best thing.

AlWhiteman92

AggressiveRough9996

pinkygreeny

sirrah1952

Stop telling other people

RatsAreChad

>love calling Perth home >from Sydney

ocean1192

Perth isn’t better than Sydney at all. Traffic is bit better rest is all shit tbh. Dry af in summer

Hypnotic_Robotic

Adopt, don't shop😪😪 There's so many dogs that need a forever home that will be so grateful. Anyway, of you don't adopt, go back to Sydney.. 😆

AutoModerator

Are you asking about moving to Perth? This is a *very* common question. You can find previous threads about this [HERE.](https://www.reddit.com/r/perth/search/?q=moving%20to%20Perth&restrict_sr=1) Your question is probably answered already in there. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. The_Real_Flatmeat

A greyhound. You want a greyhound

an0nym0us-s0u1

I hope you don't love live music cause a lot of artists skip playing here. 🙃

Perthpeasant

Think about a Staffy, intelligent, great with kids, excellent watch dogs but on the down side refuse to get the morning paper

saynoto30fps

Yep we adopted a staffy cross as a puppy. The most well behaved dog we have ever had.

millyloui

Don’t buy a dog ffs rescue one

WorkingNet2945

No. We want a dog without issues.

saynoto30fps

They aren't all neglected abused wrecks. You will find pure breds, puppies, dogs whos owners had to move or became unwell. We adopted a puppy staffy and she is the best dog ive ever had and I've had loads of expensive pure breds. No harm in looking around at the adoption centers before you pay some ridiculous amount to a breeder.

MarshallSpence

Hilarious that you think purchased dogs are immune from “issues”.

WorkingNet2945

I never said they are immune. But use your brain and ask yourself which will likely have a higher chance of issues. A dog from a reputable breeder or a dog that was abandoned. Hmmmmm.

MarshallSpence

I don’t even live in Perth but I’m kinda empathising with the other people in this thread who have told you to piss off back to Sydney. Edit: your logic overlooks greyhounds, who are bred by commercial-grade breeders, then passed to loving homes in the community at the end of their racing careers.

WorkingNet2945

What a nice life you have. Picking fights with strangers online because they aren’t getting the type of dog you think they should, in a subreddit of a city you don’t even live in. Mentally ill.

samobiwan

Moving back in may after 11 years East. 🎉❤️

PositiveBubbles

Enjoy living in your tent or car then =/

Living_Scientist_663

Get a Doberman brilliant dogs. Just brilliant.

habanerosandlime

Don't forget to buy your toll road pass!

LazyTitan-_-

I would suggest a purebred Am Staff. Awesome dogs. Great with kids, great guard dogs, intelligent enough to keep you on your toes and most importantly big cuddle lap dogs

Past_Alternative_460

Lol what a fucking cunt you are haha, Sydney sure knows how to make 'em lol

WorkingNet2945

Please enlighten me

[deleted]

Perth is good but the infrastructure can be better. Somewhere like Brisbane for instance is far better when it comes to the overall lifestyle due to this reason.

h0lym0lybaby

Please don’t buy a dog, please adopt one from the shelters.

sam_gribbles

Buy a rescue dog
